16 Lovely Ways to Include Your Children in Your Wedding

Planning & Advice

Looking to include your kids in your wedding? Make sure they feel like a big part of your special day with these 16 gorgeous ideas…

1. Include their names on the invites – Kick start the wedding as a family affair by adding your children’s names to the wedding invite for example X & X (your children’s names) invite you to celebrate the marriage of their parents X and X.

2. Have a first look – On the wedding morning, ensure they feel part of the wedding fun by having their very own first look with mam or dad if they’re old enough. Make sure the photographer is on standby too – these will be pictures you’ll treasure forever!

3. Give them a special role within the bridal party – Whether they’re bridesmaids, groomsmen or the most adorable flower girl and page boy.

4. Have them walk you up the aisle – Make your walk up the aisle extra special by having your kids walk with you.

5. Let them stand beside you during the vows – Have your kids by your side as you say those special vows so that they feel like an important part of it all.

6. Have a meaningful sand ceremony – Opt for a beautiful sand ceremony (or hand-fasting ceremony) that you can do as a family! A sand ceremony allows you to pour several different colour sands together as a gorgeous symbol of your union.
