Antonia’s dress… My dress took a while to find! I visited so many shops and just couldn’t get what I was looking for. I went into every shop and said I didn’t want lace and I didn’t want sleeves… and look what I ended up in! The dress had a delicate lace jacket that I took off before we entered the ballroom and it was then strapless. I got it in The Bridal Outlet. My good friend, Louise, from My Fair Lady Bridal in Tullamore gifted me my belt and veil and they finished off the dress perfectly.

Laura’s dress… from the moment we got engaged I knew I wanted a gold coloured dress and fell in love with mine first online. It was ‘Sottero and Midgley Marisol’ from Cameo Bridal, Kilkenny. Lynda and the girls there were amazing from start to finish. I needed some alterations so the dress was in the shop for a while but I looked forward to each fitting just to chat with the girls and see the dress another time!!

Laura’s dress… I bought my Watters dress in ‘Lovely Bride’ in Tribeca, New York. My mam was more than willing to make multiple trips to New York during the dress hunt to make sure we found the right one, which also involved a visit to the famous ‘Say yes to the dress’ shop!

Heather’s dress… was Giselle by Anna Campbell. I loved the style of the Australian designer Anna Campbell’s dresses and had been browsing them online for months. I love the lightness and flow of the material and the embellishments are stunning. The dress had an ivory silk finish with a French lace over it, I loved wearing it! My headpiece was a bespoke piece by Caoimhe Keane, ‘Que Va’. I asked Caoimhe to make me a headpiece to match my dress, she used diamonds and pearls and it really matched perfectly, she is so talented.

Michelle’s dress… was a bespoke custom made dress. I had shopped around in a lot of places with my mam and sister. We went to Dublin/Belfast etc. and nothing tickled my fancy after trying on several dresses. I then decided I would design a dress based on what I liked from a few dresses and put it into one. I got the material just outside Belfast (on recommendations from a local dressmaker) and got the local Monaghan lady to make the dress. It was everything that I had wanted in a dress. It was made for me and it was just perfect. It really was my dream wedding dress which was made for me which made it very special.

Fiona’s dress… was the first dress that I tried on! It was a beautiful dress by Herms Bridal at Kathy De Stafford. I tried on the dress and absolutely loved it but I was not willing to give up the experience of trying on every dress in Dublin so I continued to shop, tried on about 100 dresses and went back to the very first dress. I loved the experience of dress shopping. I always knew that I would go for a big romantic dress and what I loved about my dress was the lace overlay on top that I could take off later in the day. I also loved the little bow on the front, the buttons at the back and the romantic tulle. I also wanted a big veil, which Kathy kindly made for me. Angela in Kathy de Stafford was amazing and Kathy herself did my alterations. I would highly recommend them to any bride as they made the experience so special.

Jane’s dress… my dress was a two piece Theia couture ensemble designed by Don O’Neill and purchased in Folkster, Kilkenny. I also bought a fur shrug from Folkster (just in case it was a white wedding!).
