7 Wedding Favours Your Guests Will Love

Décor & Flowers, Planning & Advice

Wedding favours are always the subject of much debate –some couples want a token for their guests to remember the day by, others feel they’re often forgotten and feel the money should be spent elsewhere. But favours these days have moved on and are all about the couple whether it’s a favourite home-made jam made by the groom’s parents or a little Lego man lovingly crafted by the bride, some tasty treats guests can eat then and there or a personalised piece they can take away and use at home. So with this in mind, we’ve rounded up some fun and popular wedding favours for couples looking to give their guests something to remember the day by. Here’s 7 of our favourites…

Post Ceremony Treats

More and more couples are pooling the money they would have spent on individual favours together and hiring out food trucks to keep their guests entertained during that post ceremony lull. Treating guests to light snacks like ice-cream and crepes as they mingle after the ceremony will go down a storm and passes the time. Rockfield Ice Cream have an array of vintage carts, bicycles and vans serving up ice cream, Smith’s Ice Cream Vans also operate a fleet of nostalgic ice-cream trucks that do 99s, slush puppies and candy floss and The Dingle Crepe Van (above) serve up delicious home-made crepes with an array of yummy toppings (they also have hot drinks and a Belgian chocolate fountain that would go down a treat on a chilly day).

Take Home Treats

Edible favours can save you a few quid and are always welcome! Sweet treats like homemade cookies and Ferrero Rochers (Kerry Signature Weddings can create incredible wooden Mr & Mrs stands to display them FYI) are lovely little touches (chances are they won’t last past the speeches… nom) and if you’re looking for a treat that guests can take home with them, the likes of jam, chutney, pesto, honey and olive oil will always find a home in your guests store cupboard. And you can pretty them up with personalised labels and cute slogans like ‘Love is Sweet’, ‘Spread the Love’ and ‘Mint to Be’ if you go for packets of mints. Sachets of tea and hot chocolate are also popular choices or if you want to give guests a laugh, leave out hangover supplies whether it’s bags of crisps, trail mix or coffee sachets to help them get moving the following day.

Photobooth Fun

Another alternative to individual favours is to use the cash to fund a photo booth or video booth. Guests will love nothing more than a few snaps of themselves to pop on their fridge and it will serve as a lovely little reminder of the day as well. And if you’re keen to have something at their place setting, why not invest in some cute carnival style tickets for the entrance to the booth – they can exchange it for their photo!

Entertainment and favours in one! Personalised favours are always a winner and if you want to give them something they can use at home afterwards, a hand sketched caricature is a brilliant option as well as great fun for all watching. Caricature artists like Anita Foy will sketch your guests there and then so they have a cool and super personal memento to take home with them! If you were a Lego lover and want to give your guests something fun to bring home with them, get making a Lego figure for each of your guests! Use them as place names, escort cards or even just have a big bowl of Lego pieces so that guests can build their own little man or woman at their leisure.

Thoughtful Tokens

If you’re keen to have something sitting by your guests place setting, there are lots of cute trinkets and tokens you can make or buy. ‘Seeds of Love’ sachets with your favourite plant seeds, recipe booklets with family recipes and CDs with the soundtrack to your day are sweet little tokens for your guests to take away. Another cute option is to get a personalised keyring for each and every guest – Keyring Memories can discreetly snap a picture of each guest and then turn it in to a photo keyring so that it’s waiting for them when they arrive at their place setting for dinner.
