A Botanically Inspired Wedding with Green and Pink

“Our bridal Party wore classic pink dresses and navy suits. Our invitations were botanically inspired, as were our mass booklets and stationery. The mix of green and pinks were picked up in all of our wedding flowers and centerpieces with lots of eucalyptus.”

We met… a couple of times over the years before going on our first date at Alfies (South William Street).

Our proposal… was at Mount Juliet estate in Kilkenny, our room was filled with candles and roses. Cilian proposed when we arrived back from dinner.

Our wedding theme/colours… Our bridal Party wore classic pink dresses and navy suits. Our invitations were botanically inspired, as were our mass booklets and stationery. The mix of green and pinks were picked up in all of our wedding flowers and centerpieces with lots of eucalyptus.

Things we DIY’d/made ourselves… Invitations, wedding favours, bathroom baskets.

My dress… “Morilee” by Madeleine Gardener design. I’ve always loved the “Grace Kelly” style bride and wanted a simple, classic dress that would never date.

My hair and make up… My hair was all back in a bun with hairpiece by “Jules Bridal”. My makeup was simple Armani / Shiseido.

His suit… A classic navy suit with champagne tie.

What our bridal party wore… Six bridesmaids. Each wore a slightly different style and shade of pink.

Our ceremony… We laughed all the way through. A ceremony at St. Andrews Church, Curragha. It was relaxed and very special.

We chose our videographer because… When I spoke to Bart on the phone, he talked me through everything with such calm and friendly way, my mind was made up. We loved the way they captured (Bart & Magda) the essence of the day in all the films. One of our best decisions!

We chose our venue because… It was the perfect mix of classy and relaxed. A “home away from home” but elegant and beautiful too.

Our menu… We chose a soup, Caesar salad, Beef or Salmon, the most delicious chocolate brownie dessert (Ellen’s favourite!)

Our honeymoon… We stopped off in Singapore, before continuing onto Bali.

My favourite part of the wedding day… Our first kiss as a married Couple, the cheer from the crowd was amazing.

My piece of advice for other couples… Spend the day together, do exactly what you want, it’s our day.

What is it that makes your wedding unique? We had 12 in our Bridal Party, six bridesmaids plus six groomsmen.
