Every detail of Lisa and Dan’s informal, rustic-style wedding day in Meath was captured beautifully by Laura Faherty, of Laura Faherty Photography, so much so that it was a most difficult task for us to choose just a few to share with you today!
The couple went for a vintage-meets-rustic look for their day, which was achieved with flowers of muted pinks, purples and natural colours, and helped along with a big red vintage bus! After the ceremony, the wedding party and guests stopped off a the local watering hole for a ‘pint of the black stuff’ (one of the Lisa’s favourite parts of the day!) before journeying on to their reception…
Length of engagement: 10 months

The dress… Lisa wore a stunning full length, trumpet style, white lace wedding gown, with a sweetheart neckline and feather embellishments. She capped off her look with a simple floral detail birdcage veil and added some extra glamour with understated diamond drop earrings. Lisa wore elegant off-white peep-toe wedding shoes with ribbon detail, not unlike the Rachel Simpson pair we featured in our Wedding Shoes – 21 Perfect Pairs article last week!
Lisa’s make-up was done by Anne Marie Doherty, a Meath-based wedding make-up artist, who created a natural overall look, with soft bronze eyes.
The bridesmaids… Lisa’s four bridesmaids all wore short, charcoal grey, ribbon tied dresses finished with nude shoes. Each girl wore beautiful pearl drop earrings and had their hair done in all different styles.
The transport… We love the big red vintage bus from Dualway Coaches that Lisa and Dan hired to chauffeur them from the ceremony to the reception. It makes a real impact for the bride’s arrival with her father at the church too!
The ceremony… The couple exchanged vows in the stunning Church of the Immaculate Conception in Rathfeigh, Co. Meath. They decorated the already breathtaking setting with beautiful floral and ribbon pew ends of pink, white and green to match the bride’s bouquet, which was handmade by The French Touch.
Their wedding booklets set the tone for a rustic-style day, with calligraphy on simple white card tied together with twine and finished with a tiny heart inscribed ‘made with love’.
Lisa’s favourite part of the wedding day… “It was all amazing… from the beautiful church, to the countryside pub, and the gorgeous estate!”
We chose our venue because… it was exactly what we were looking for! Bellinter House Hotel was perfect for us because of its informal atmosphere. We loved having our speeches outside, dinner in the cellar, and dancing in the living room!
The overall wedding theme & colours… Lisa and Dan went for a vintage-meets-rustic look which was achieved with muted pinks, purples and natural colours. Centerpieces consisted of rustic birdcages and pillar candles, surrounded by colourful flowers in all different sizes and shapes of mason jars, glasses and vases. Guests were shown their seats with name cards in cork stands, and each received a coin inscribed with an Irish blessing.
