How did you meet and get engaged?

We met 13 years ago in Ruby’s Night Club Waterford. We have travelled between Oz, Florida, Scotland and Ireland. We have settled in the last 4 years and have two little boys, Tommy & Robert. Two months after having Robert, Thomas took me to the Cliff House Hotel in Ardmore. I was on the balcony and when I turned around he was down on one knee.

Describe your wedding:

We had a classy glamorous New Year’s Eve wedding. We had lots of candle lights, black-tie bridal party and Newbay House is a beautiful country house with deer heads and a function room wrapped in glass. The gardens were full of fairy lights, which was amazing. Our wedding invitations were deer heads with a T&T stamp on the envelope. Thomas works for the coastguard and I have a fascination with lighthouses so we did our table plan with a map of Ireland using the lighthouses as table names.  I also had little lighthouses for each guest.

Tell us about your bridal look:

My dress was very simple. I wanted nothing but a very plain dress with a low back. I got the dress in a beautiful bridal shop in Lisburn near Belfast. The designer was Made with Love. I went with a Hollywood wave for my hair, done by Emma Jane Cullen and glam makeup with a bright red lip by Dawn Coveney.

What did your bridesmaids wear?

My bridesmaids wore very simple, off the shoulder black dresses with beautiful gold earrings. They looked amazing!

What was your ceremony like?

Our ceremony was a humanist Ceremony by a lovely lady called Carmel Walsh. It was held in the beautiful function room with glass all around it with natural light coming in. I had glass vases with candles all the way up the aisle done by Antoinette Whelan at Style My Wedding. We got Thomas’s uncle to make a beautiful Moongate for the top of the aisle and his aunt and Lennie at wallflowers to make the foliage and flowers. It was a very personal and intimate ceremony. We also had a surprise naming ceremony for our two boys at the end which was very special to us.

Tell us about your wedding venue:

Our venue was Newbay House. We went to see this venue after we got engaged and we fell in love. It is amazing, absolutely stunning. The house from the outside is beautiful but when you go in it’s even better. A very grand function room with beautiful chandeliers, The Orchard Bar for the drink reception which opens the doors out to the garden, it was beautiful. The Gardens were filled with fairy lights, the willow tunnel was amazing. All our guests wandered around the gardens.

What is your favourite memory from your wedding day?

Everything from start to finish was my favorite.

Have you got any advice for other couples?
