Erin and Robert met in Dublin while playing dodgeball. They both joined separately and became friends. Robert planned the proposal all in a day and it was a complete surprise to Erin! They got engaged at a Busted concert in a little venue in London.

They wanted everything to be quite simple and chose autumnal colours like burgundy, green, blush pink and gold. They opted for a cosy feel with lots of fairy lights and candles. Since they are both fans of music, they incorporated that into their day with their favourite albums as table names, an 80s tribute band and a mini wedding album as wedding favours. “I didn’t want to get too bogged down in having a theme and everything matching perfectly, we just wanted something that felt fun and represented us, which I think we achieved.”

Erin chose a classic bridal look with an A-line oyster colour satin dress with a lace bodice, sleeves and pockets. “I absolutely loved wearing it, it was so comfortable and made me feel so elegant. I wore my hair half up and half down with a flower comb to match my bouquet. It was very similar to how I usually wear it. I decided against a veil because I wanted to show off the back of my dress and I wouldn’t have worn it for very long! My make-up was very natural, I didn’t want to look too different than I normally do.”

The bridesmaids wore wraparound maxi dresses with beaded combs in their hair to match Erin’s bodice.

They had a beautiful catholic wedding ceremony at St Patrick’s church in Monkstown. Erin’s older brother walked her down the aisle and they had readings and prayers from friends and family.

“The Royal Marine Hotel is an amazing venue to have a wedding. Their main room is stunning with high ceilings, chandeliers and massive windows with views of the sea. One of the draws of the venue was that it was one big room which included the bar and dance floor. It was a very rainy day so we used the fabulous lobby with its grand staircase as the backdrop for our photos. The staff went above and beyond for us before and on the day and we can’t recommend them enough.”

When asked about their favourite memory from their Big Day, it was the moment they walked into the reception venue together before dinner. Erin and Robert loved looking around seeing all their friends and family from all parts of their lives coming together in the same place. Everybody smiled and cheered!

“It’s hard at the time but don’t get too bogged down or stressed about making everything perfect before the day because when it comes down to it, on the day it won’t matter. All that matters is that the people you both love are there to celebrate with you. Things may go wrong but nobody will notice as long as there is food, drinks and dancing!”
