Articles, Real Weddings

Say hello to Lindsey and Brian! They planned a beautiful DIY wedding – they made all the decorations themselves, including the table plan, menus, flowers, sweets cart and sparklers!

Names: Lindsey & Brian
Length of engagement: just over a year
Wedding Date: 30th April 23
Wedding location: The Millhouse
Photographer: Couple Photography

Lindsey and Brian met through mutual friends! They say their proposal wasn’t very romantic, but Lindsey describes it as “so us”. Brian proposed in their kitchen one evening just before Christmas, which we think is really special.

Their love story continues with a gorgeous wedding in Ireland and a beautiful honeymoon in Santorini, Greece.

They incorporated lots of pretty white roses and baby’s breath into their wedding decor. We love that they included some DIY too – they made all the decorations themselves, including the table plan, menus, flowers, sweets cart and sparklers!

Lindsey’s beautiful dress was from The White Room. Her hair was done by Jess Doyle and her makeup was courtesy of Lisa O’Brien. Lindsey loves her bridal look and says her skin looked flawless!

Instead of a suit, Brian chose trousers, a shirt and waistcoat from Next, with a dickie bow.

The bridesmaids wore beautiful lilac dresses from Keeva.

Their ceremony was in the Old Mill at the Millhouse. They love that the location was so unique!

“We chose our photographer because we loved her style of photos and of course she didn’t disappoint on the day, amazing!”

They chose their venue because of its surroundings!

“We didn’t want a hotel wedding so when we viewed the Millhouse. We just fell in love with the venue. The old mill, the house itself, the function room and the fact it also sat on the river Boyne. The scenery is just breathtaking. Wow the food was just amazing. We had vegetable soup, a tartlet, a choice of chicken or steak. For dessert we chose an apple crumble.”

“My piece of advice for other couples: enjoy every minute as the day goes so quick and try not to stress over the little things as on the day all that’s matters is you and your partner coming together with friends and family to celebrate your love.”
