A Fabulous Feline Flick – Get the Look by Make-up Artist Ailbhe Lynch

Hair, Make Up & Beauty

Our gorgeous bride Sarah had her heart set on a fabulous feline flick à la Adele for her big day and make-up artist Ailbhe Lynch set about recreating this stunning style. As Sarah wanted emphasis on her eyes, Ailbhe gave them that wow factor with a matte neutral lid with shading at the outer corners and crease, and strong, black eyeliner with a sharp flick. Here, Ailbhe talks us through how to achieve this look and the tools you will need!

How to Achieve Sarah’s Look:

1: Sarah’s skin was prepped with Smashbox Photo Finish Light Foundation Primer to help foundation glide on more easily and to minimize shine.

2: I applied MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation to create a flawless and long lasting demi-matte finish.

3: Sarah’s look was all about the eyes. I created a neutral lid and brow bone using MAC Brule eye shadow. I contoured around the crease with MAC Wedge shadow using a tapered blending brush. I completed eye shadow application by using MAC Charcoal brown at the edge of Sarah’s lids and outer crease.

4: To create a strong line along the upper lids I used MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack. Using a fine tapered eyeliner brush I took the line from the inner corners of the lids towards the outer corners and flicked the liner up and outwards to extend the shape of the eye.

5: Keeping most of the definition on top of the eyes I applied a fine line of Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil in Demolition under the eyes to balance the look. Eye make-up was completed with every Bride’s make-up must have – Individual lashes!

6: Nicely shaped and defined brows open up the eyes and complete eye make-up. I defined Sarah’s brows with MAC Eye Brows pencil in Lingering. Apply using light feathery strokes for a natural yet defined brow.

7: For lips Sarah opted for MAC Syrup Lipstick, a beautiful Mauve, Pink with a moisturising texture to keep lips feeling comfortable over a lengthy day.

8: I finished the look with a light sweep of MAC Dainty Blusher to compliment the lip colour.
