We met… At Voodoo night club, on 01 of January 2016, My sister was the cupid, my sister encouraged me to start a new relationship, and when I saw Trevor I said to her that’s the only man I wish, and that I would marry him, so she went to him and he called me to talk. He gave me a kiss, took my phone number and we started on this day on our story.

Our proposal… It was Christmas 2016, it was our first Christmas together so he proposed to me this day, making our Christmas special and unforgettable.

Our wedding theme/colours… The colours I chose were based on the following orders. The White for representing peace and marriage. The colour pink or rose for representing the romanticism and delicacy. The golden colour for representing luxury and refinement.

My dress… My dress was made by stylist Martina Liana, and I bought it in Pearls and Lace in the city of Donegal Town (Excellent service, all very kind girls)! I choose it for the unique detail in every dress, the lace is perfect, the embroidery with stones and crystals in the form of flowers brought lightness and romantics for the dress, therefore is mermaid style and some part of the side was transparent. The vail was the same embroidery and exact same as I dreamed. I chose the colour Ivory because it combines more with the tone of my skin.

My hair and make up… I chose G & G because it always conveys confidence and always made me feel comfortable with then, I’m very insecure with regards to makeup, so I needed a professional that I felt comfortable with. It’s very difficult for me to open up with someone and say something that I do not like in fear of being very annoying or demeaning someone’s work so I went several times to several salons of beauty and G & G was the one that made me feel most comfortable. Aoibheann and Megan on the day of the wedding made us laugh a lot, encouraged us and provided a very pleasant morning for us.

His suit… We went to Dublin and choose the Hugo Boss brand, and the colour because the blue colour enhances the colour of Trevor’s eyes. His Suit was 2 shades lighter than the groomsmen.

What our bridal party wore… My 2 bridesmaids each choose a different dress style, I just choose the rose colour, they were beautiful and radiant. The dresses also had a silver detail that brought sophistication to the dress. The accessories in silver, according to the details of the dresses as well. They are two people that I love, and with different style, so I let them choose the style that made them feel more comfortable.

Our ceremony… We always dreamt of getting married in a ceremony outside, with a beautiful view! And when we considered this possibility many found it impossible, Because the weather in Ireland is totally unpredictable, but we believed in our dream and made all our plans to have a ceremony outside, with an ark of flowers and a hallway with white carpet and flowers at sides. We planned our wedding to happen in two years, and in these last two years we have been researching every day about the possibility of rain and sun. Of course we had a plan B, but everything on the day was perfect and it was the only sunny day of the week. Our Ceremony took only 25 minutes because we requested something fast, because we do not like a long ceremony.

We chose our photographer because… We choose Mustafa because we are very detailed and out of all he mostly impressed us by the quality and naturalness of the photos. And without a doubt we know we choose the best, he made us feel very comfortable, because Trevor and I are a bit closed and we do not like photos, but being photographed by Mustafa was something very pleasurable.

We chose our wedding coordinator because… We chose Monica Blain to be our wedding coordinator, Because our wedding was in the week of the Letterkenny Rally in a period of busy movement and I knew was going be very busy for me in my work as well, because it needs to pay attention to my work too, then we look for someone who could help us and guide, choosing and directing us in relation to our marriage . And Monica was an angel, took a huge weight off my back! She organised everything, with regards to the schedules, solved the problems of the wedding day with class and professionalism. Everything was perfect, she led all the suppliers, all decoration, and all the services provided.

We chose our venue because… We choose Rockhill House as a unique and sophisticated place. We wanted our guests to feel special and comfortable from start to finish, so we knew we would provide this to them at Rockhill House because when the wedding is scheduled, the house is exclusive to the wedding. We did not feel comfortable having a ceremony in the garden in a normal hotel and several unknown people walking by. The house is magnificent, luxurious, everything well organised and clean, this was the other factor why we chosen to do our wedding there. I have to emphasise here that the room we stayed in will be our room every year that we will spend our wedding anniversary because we loved the room, it is perfect.

Our menu was well-differentiated as we sent a selector menu along with the wedding invitation, so our guest knew what would be served at the wedding and they had to pick the menu and send us along with the RSVP. So, in the daytime everything was organised, and the staff and chef at Rockhill House knew what each guest would like to eat, and everything was fantastic. The taste of it all was delicious.

Our honeymoon…

We chose to spend our honeymoon in Maldives and Dubai, 7 days in Maldives and 3 days in Dubai! we Loved it, everything was beautiful and romantic!

My favourite part of the wedding day… Our first dance was something that many did not expect, it was a unique moment for me and Trevor, because it was something we learned together, and because we are a bit shy we face this challenge together, and when we watch over the videos we loved them, and we received a lot of praise. I watch the videos every day, we were not perfect, but it was the most special moment for me.

My piece of advice for other couples…

Make the wedding of your dreams, even if it takes time, do not listen to other people’s regarding prices, only you know the price of every detail of the day that will be special in your life. Nothing in this life is impossible, so follow your dream and be inspired.
