How did you meet and get engaged?
We met through mutual friends. When he proposed, he took me for a night away and stopped on the way at a lake in Roscommon by the old castle.
Describe your wedding:
We didn’t have a theme, but for colours, we had taupe bridesmaids dresses and pink flowers.
The government announcement came two days before our wedding, so we had reduced numbers, but it was still the best day! Even better than I could have ever dreamed of. So to future brides who have to cut numbers, don’t sweat it. It all works out in the end and you don’t even notice you had to cut your numbers in half. I had the best day regardless of who was there, the minute I walked into the church and saw my husband to be, that’s all that mattered.
Tell us about your bridal look:
I went for simple, sleek hair and natural makeup. My dress was a very comfortable body con from The Bridal Lounge.
What did your bridesmaids wear?
We opted for a taupe halter neck floor-length dress.
What was your ceremony like?
Intimate, relaxed, funny.
Tell us about your wedding venue:
The Raheen Woods Hotel was the best venue I ever had to deal with. No job was too big or too small, they looked after me all through to the lead-up and kept me so relaxed throughout it all. It was like dealing with friends. I would highly recommend their venue to anyone looking.
What is your favourite memory from your wedding day?
To be honest, I couldn’t give just one favourite memory. From start to finish, the whole day was just amazing. I loved every second of it. The excitement and the adrenaline I had all day was amazing.
Have you got any advice for other couples?
Take in every moment. Do not stress, Thankfully I was a very laid back bride. Everything falls into place. When you get to the hotel, go to your room with your husband for 10 minutes just for a breather and to freshen up.
