A Timeless Autumn Wedding with Blush Pink, Peach and Burgundy

For their theme and colours, they tried to stay away from what was trendy at the time. Instead, they opted for a more timeless look. The colour palette included blush pinks, peaches and a splash of burgundy. They were lucky that their colours went with both a summer and autumn wedding.

Jonny and Michelle met in UCD badminton club. Jonny was captain of the club and Michelle was wooed by the power! They were friends first and after their Christmas break, they realised they liked each other as more than friends. So they sealed their fate with a kiss upon their return from Christmas break.

For years, as poor students, they would try to find nice viewpoints to enjoy for free, Sorrento Park in Dalkey being one of their favourites. It became their spot and they dreamed of being able to afford one of the amazing houses on its surroundings. After 6 years of dating, Jonny took Michelle to Sorrento Park for sunrise. He threw a spanner in the works by presenting her with a Pandora charm to mark the occasion of buying their first home. She was completely caught off guard when he dropped on one knee! When he asked the question, she just responded with ‘Thank you’.

Michelle’s dress was made bespoke by Sharon Hoey. With a week to go, the seamstress Audra created a detachable collar, which completed the look. Michelle was able to remove the collar for the dancing and it was like a new dress! Her makeup was done by the fantastic Nicola Plummer and her hairstylist was Lukasz Rod from Batik Hair Studio. Lukasz is her usual hair colourist and stylist so it was wonderful to have someone she trusts so much on the big day!

Jonny wore a simple black tux.

The bridesmaid wore beautiful mulberry dresses. Michelle wanted them to be as comfortable as possible so she chose the colour and material and they chose whatever style and cut they liked. The groomsmen followed Jonny and wore matching tuxes, which looked very sharp.

We chose to have a spiritual ceremony on the grounds of Kilkea Castle as we wanted to reduce travel time to and from the venue. Our celebrant Graham Barret was fantastic, he guided us through the whole process and we had such fun designing the ceremony.”

“Our photographer, Roz, is amazing. We initially chose her off the recommendation of friends and we really liked her photography style. We did an engagement shoot together and found out she is nuts! In the best way possible! She has a great eye for what could look good in a photo and I’m all about experimenting to get a good shot so she was definitely the right woman for us!”

Jonathan and Michelle chose the beautiful Kilkea Castle as their wedding venue! They always knew they wanted a castle and as they put it, Kilkea Castle is the ‘castle to end all castles’. Their venue coordinator was their guardian angel helping them to navigate Covid.

Her compassion was unparalleled and she worked with us to create a better wedding day than we could have ever imagined!”

Michelle’s favourite part of the Big Day was walking up the aisle to see Jonny crying! She had only ever seen him cry once and neither of them expected for him to cry on the day. After all the stress in the leadup to the day, it was an amazing feeling that they had actually made it.

Jonathan’s favourite moment was before their photos were taken. They were put into a minivan and it was the first time they were alone that day. They just beamed at each other and there was so much happiness in that moment!

Don’t worry about not being able to relax on the day. I’m such a control nut that I was worried I’d find it hard to relax and leave Jonny and Elaine run the morning. Once I had my first bellini it was just like a girl’s pamper party and I had the best lead into the day!”
