The A-Z of Wedding Photography

Fashion & Jewellery, Planning & Advice

A fun guide to photos you can expect in your wedding album by Couple Photography.

Today we’ve got a guest expert on the blog. Ever wondered what to expect when you get your wedding photos back? Well, Couple Photography has given us the low-down.

A: Anything goes, the more fun your couple and their guests want to have the better, we just have to make sure that we’re there to catch it.

B: The bride, of course, the most important person at the wedding.  Sorry grooms without you there would be no wedding but you have to realize all eyes are on the bride.

C: Cake, the part of the evening that all the guests are waiting for.  Everybody is waiting to see what flavour your towering confection will be.

D: Dogs!! Well if you have one at home when you’re getting ready we always take pictures of them.  We love dogs.

E: The engagement ring – where the whole wedding starts.

F: Family and friends, the most important people in your lives.  The people you want around you to celebrate the best day of your life.

G: The groom and his groomsmen, who can always be guaranteed for intentional and unintentional hilarity.

H: Happily ever after.  The perfect pic of the two of you.

I: Interesting details from your wedding.  It’s all the small personal details that make the day special to the couple and their guests and make every wedding different, we never know what to expect.

J: “Just the two of us, Building castles in the sky. Just the two of us, You and I.” Whatever song you pick for your first dance it’s a special moment for the two of you.

K: Kiss, there’ll be plenty of these during the day and we’ll try to capture as many of them as possible. xx

L: Little people from flower girls and page boys to guests.  They are usually charming, sweet and sooo cute that you can forgive them anything….even messing up the group shots.

M: Makeup and getting ready, it may look effortless but there’s a lot going on behind the scenes.

N: Nerves – the moment before the bride arrives at the ceremony is always a nerve-wracking time for the groom.  “What if she doesn’t turn up?” Or what if the wedding car doesn’t arrive? Or maybe the kids are a little anxious!

O: Outdoor pictures – we love to feature the great outdoors if you’re up for it.  There’s nothing nicer than getting out and about in a field, beach or forest.

P: Planned pictures – the photographs that the couple want to have taken of family members and groups that are important to them.

Q: Quiet moments between the two of you.  It’s always nice to take a few minutes away from the party to have some quiet time….well apart from the photographer who is following you around.

R: Rings, the wedding rings are such an important symbol of the commitment you’re both making so they have to feature in the photographs.

S: Smiles, it’s true when they say it’s one of the happiest days of your life.

T: Toasts and speeches – the reactions to these are always wonderful moments to capture, they range from laughter to tears and everything in between.

U: Umbrellas – I know it’s a strange one but this is Ireland and you never know what kind of weather you’re going to get.  We’ve featured quite a few umbrellas over the years.

V: Vows, a very important part of any wedding ceremony.

W: Weather, like the umbrellas above, you just don’t know how many seasons you’re going to get in one day.  So the bride and groom have to be prepared for everything.

X: eXcitement (come on you have to give us this one, x is a difficult letter) although we do have a picture of an aXe wielding mother of the bride……now that’s exciting.

Y: “Yabba dabba doo!” That moment following the ceremony when the couple is greeted by their guests or the bridal party just go plain crazy.

Z: zzzz’s – there’s always at least one younger guest that can’t keep up with the fun on the day and inevitably ends up catching a few zzzz’s.
