“Our ceremony was very memorable… I put the ring on the wrong finger!”
Length of engagement: 16 months | Wedding date: 5th April 2013
Wedding ceremony: Glanworth church | Wedding reception: Kilshane House

We met… In Fermoy swimming pool, where Mikey was a lifeguard and I was in the swimming club.
Emma wore a classically shaped A-line Suzanne Neville gown. ‘Lady’ features a beautiful satin belt and an elegant scooped neckline. “It was not what I ever imagined wearing,” said Emma, “but absolutely loved it!”
Our proposal… Our engagement story isn’t so romantic – we had my little nephew with us and he forgot to get down on one knee!
“It’s hard to say what my favourite part of the wedding day was, but the most special part was my dad walking me up the aisle and handing me over to Mikey…”
There’s always a couple of hiccups on the day, but as we usually say they’re what makes the day yours! For Emma and Micheal it was during the ceremony, “I put the ring on the wrong finger!” said Emma.
Despite the horrible forecast the rain managed to stay away for Emma and Mike’s day – but that didn’t mean that Emma and Mike didn’t need a quick warming pick-me-up of tea and whiskey to keep them going at The Mill in Glanworth – that is at least until they got to Kilshane House – where the clouds moved on and the sun shone brightly for the evening!
My piece of advice for other brides… Don’t be afraid to let your parents get involved, they’ll do a great job.
