Caitriona’s dress… was from Designer Justin Alexander and was purchased from The Bridal Outlet, Baldoyle Dublin 13. I chose Justin Alexander as they are well known for making the finest vintage wedding dresses and bridal couture. I wanted to have a timeless dress that when I looked back in a few years at photos would still be fashionable. I chose a lace mermaid silhouette with diamantes and button detail to the back.

Juliette’s dress… I got my dress from Memories – The Bridal Boutique Dublin in Lucan. The girls were really helpful! Myself and my 6 year old son went to pick out my dress – I knew it was the one when I came out of the dressing room and my son was holding the trail of the dress… my heart just melted!

Nicole’s dress… Loves Legacy Bridal Wear had a big sample sale. I know you’re not meant to brag about how cheap your wedding dress is but I got mine for 1/3 of the price.

Althea’s dress… My Pronovias dress was bought in Belladonna Bridal in Galway. It was my first day trying on dresses and I went in with every intention of buying a whimsical blush dress. My mind was soon changed after trying this style on!! It didn’t suit me at all. I tried on around 4 more dresses in different styles and then I found the one. The boat neck, train and of course THE POCKETS made me fall instantly in love with the dress and I didn’t want to try on another after that. It was nothing like I had ever imagined wearing on my wedding day, but I fell so in love with it. The cathedral length veil was so beautiful and really complimented the long train on the dress.

Fiadhnaith’s dress… I tried on about 14 dresses before I found the one. It was a Pronovias wedding dress. Lace sleeves, mermaid style, very sleek and simple. Just what I dreamed about. I felt amazing in it. I bought it in The White Room in Mullingar.

Karina’s dress… was custom made by Kathy de Stafford Bridal. Although our wedding was in June, I always loved the idea of a long sleeved dress. We visited the boutique in Nenagh about 12 months in advance of the wedding and I paid my deposit a year to the day of our wedding. I met Kathy on numerous occasions where we discussed my style and the dress had beautiful lace sleeves with a scalloped v neck and a fishtail flick at the end. I loved it!

Melanie’s dress… I went to try on dresses in Fiona Todhunter Bridals, just to get an idea of what might suit me etc, and instantly fell in love with the dress I purchased in the end. Was meant to be I guess.

Laura’s dress… was from Cinderella’s Closet in Cork City. It was a Sottero and Midgley gown and it was totally not what I thought I’d go for. It had thin straps and was fitted and was a beautiful off-white Chantilly lace. I also had a full-length veil. It was so comfortable and I loved it!

Eimear’s dress… One Saturday in November 2016, I went dress shopping with my Mam in Dublin. The second appointment of the day was with Sharon Hoey. I loved the dresses by Divine Atelier, which looked a bit more unusual and unique compared to anything else that I had seen. I chose ‘Ramia’ which had lace sleeves and a floaty tulle skirt.

Verity’s dress… The main thought I had for my dress was simplicity, easy to put on and most importantly light and easy to dance the night away in. Sharon and the ladies from Dublin Bridal House were amazing from the minute we walked into their salon. As I only knew I wanted a high neck and a dress that was simple to wear, they were so helpful in pointing me in the right direction. Little did we know that after 45 minutes I would be standing in a gown my sister had picked out, saying yes to the dress! The ladies left us to enjoy the moment and made the special experience one to remember.

Lisa’s dress… My dress was originally a strapless sweetheart neckline from La Bella Sposa. I wasn’t a fan of bare shoulders, especially getting married in a church. So my dressmaker decided to add detailed straps, which I fell in love with.

Emer’s dress… was Ronald Joyce ‘Jenna’ from B Couture. It was customised to the way I wanted it with crystal buttons down the back and the neckline changed.
