How did you meet and get engaged?
We met while in college in Castlebar. I was in my final year of nursing and Warren was doing a computer course. I like to think it was love at first sight. We went to Switzerland in 2017 and Warren took me on a bus tour to Germany to visit a castle. I am a massive Disney fan and this castle is what the Disney castle is modeled against. I thought as we stood beside the waterfall this was it, but no such luck. The next day while getting up for the day he said to me “I want to marry you. Let’s go pick I ring”. I thought he was messing as usual. He said “No I’m serious, let’s go”, so he took me to a shop, bought a ring then rang my dad to get his permission. He then got down on one knee and asked.

Describe your wedding:
We had a subtle Disney theme. Red and cream were our colours. Our invites were loosely based around beauty and the beast. We made our own booklets and did as much DIY as possible.

Tell us about your bridal look:
I bought my dress from Barnardos Bridal. I like the idea that with the amount spent it is going to charity. I’m not a massive makeup fan so I went for the natural look. I spent 2 years growing my hair so I could have a lovely long up style.

What did your bridesmaids wear?
We ordered the dresses from Cocomelody, the quality and cost were amazing. I absolutely loved the colour. I wanted the girls to be comfortable so I let them pick their own accessories and shoes.

What was your ceremony like?
We got married at St Patrick’s church. It was a simple ceremony, we didn’t have too many decorations. I wanted to keep it minimalist. My Aunt did the music for us. She played the organ and sang.

Tell us about your wedding venue:
We chose Mulranny Park Hotel. Such a beautiful spot right beside the sea. The sun shone in the large glass windows all day. Asta and her team were amazing!

What is your favourite memory from your wedding day?
The pictures and videos on the beach with my new husband and son. It was half an hour of reflecting on the day before the party started.

Have you got any advice for other couples?
Don’t sweat the small stuff on the day. What’s most important is marrying the person you love.
