Two years after a very romantic New Year’s Eve engagement, Katie and Colm were married in a relaxed and fun wedding day that matched the couple’s laid-back personalities down to a ‘T’. Katie’s beautiful Greek style, one-shouldered gown with a sheer overlay meant that she could enjoy one her favourite parts of the wedding – dancing all night long to the sounds of The Bentley Boys!
We met… On a night out with mutual friends.
First impressions of Colm… Funny, tall and good looking.
Colm’s first impressions of you… Chatty, bubbly and cute.
Our proposal… It was on New Year’s Eve in 2008. At the stroke of midnight, Colm proposed.
Our ceremony… It was just a very traditional but beautiful ceremony.
Our wedding theme/ colours… We wanted the day to be relaxed, fun and cheerful to match our personalities as we’re very laid back.
My dress… A Greek style, simple, one-shoulder dress that gathered at the bust line with a sheer overlay on the skirt. I also wore a veil to top it all of.
Our first dance song… Lighthouse Family – High.
Our venue… We chose the Birr County Arms because of their attention to detail and quality of service is very high. Connor and Barry were very helpful with any queries we had.
My advice for other brides… Just relax, because everything falls into place.
