1. Consider your theme. It’s best to have a theme throughout the entire wedding – be it modern, vintage, sporty or even off the wall! A wedding car must always be included in your theme choice. Quirky vehicles, vintage, modern – the choice is there.

2. Do you have a colour in mind to complement the overall wedding theme? It’s a good idea to keep all wedding transport the same colour if possible. It looks so much better in photos.

3. Always consider the amount of vehicles you need. A large bridal party has to get to the wedding as does a small one. Consider a stretch limousine if needed or a minibus. Some chauffeur companies offer discounts when booking more than one vehicle.

4. Don’t forget to research your chauffeur provider. You need a car to turn up on time, to be spotlessly clean with a uniformed and licensed chauffeur. Of course, the vehicle also has to be properly insured, taxed and licensed. No-one wants to either be waiting for a car that doesn’t turn up, isn’t pristine or stopped by the Gardai en route and impounded for not being lawful!

5. It’s quite popular now to hire coach transport for guests. Guests are collected at different stops, brought to the ceremony and onwards to the reception. Also, don’t forget when the night ends you will need to arrange transport for your guests to return to their accommodation. Many coach companies offer special wedding rates and night time shuttle services.

1. Ask if they are fully insured and all cars are PSV’d (public service vehicle), as required by law… sometimes cheapest isn’t always best!

2. We have found that customers prefer genuine classic wedding cars if you want to have that wow factor on the day. Not all cars are what they seem, some are replica and kit cars.

3. We would always highly recommend viewing the cars in person as sometimes the photos do not do the cars justice.

4. Always check what exactly is included in the price quoted – champagne, ribbon, uniformed driver, if there is an allotted time for the price quoted? Sometimes there are additional costs for trips not mentioned when asking for a quote.

5. Check online blogs/reviews of the car companies to see what other brides and grooms have to say.
