Alfie’s Bandits are a 2-piece act from Dublin, singing covers of all your favourite songs from the 50’s & 60’s to today’s chart and everything in between. We both sing, both play, and we cater to all aspects of your big day. If you go for our acoustic set, everything you hear is 100% live and untouched. Perfect for ceremony, drinks receptions or Day 2. Aoife is our leading lady. Singing since she was a toddler, Aoife has performed with everyone from ABBA tribute acts to rock bands, wedding bands, and even worked for many years as a solo performer. Aoife has a wealth of stage experience and sings everything from Pink & Adele to Tina Turner & Stevie Nicks!
Jay has been playing music since he was 16.
He learnt guitar and singing techniques with a ballad group before performing solo for almost 10 years. Bringing everything from Thin Lizzy & Billy Joel to Sam Cooke & a good old ballad thrown in for variety, Jay is the other half of Alfie’s Bandits.

Shane & Aoife Hennessy
We are a husband and wife duo, specialising in Wedding Ceremony Music and Drinks Reception Music. We have both been performing at weddings as soloists since about 2010, and as a duo since 2019.
Aoife is an experienced soloist, orchestral and ensemble musician, and holds a first class BA (Hons) degree in music, having trained in piano, violin, and flute since childhood. Shane is a singer and a world-renowned guitarist, with four albums of original music, extensive worldwide touring, a sold-out concert at The National Concert Hall in Dublin, and a live performance on the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville under his belt.
Our goal as a duo is to create a most memorable, warm, rich, and sophisticated sound – the perfect musical atmosphere for a wedding ceremony! Our couples can opt to have all-instrumental, all-vocal, or a mixture of both. We work directly with our couples throughout the planning process to help choose the perfect ceremony music selection, to make this as stress-free as possible. We also include pre-ceremony instrumental music in all ceremony packages, to provide a warm welcome for guests. Our regular repertoire of music for our Drinks Reception sets covers pop, rock, jazz, folk, 80s, classical, ballads, singalongs, and lots more!

I play the Irish uilleann pipes, flutes and whistles and was actually the original piper with both Riverdance and the Afro Celt Sound System.
The hauntingly romantic Irish uillean pipes and low whistle guarantee to be a stunning addition to your wedding and will create cherished memories of your beautiful ceremony. While many people have heard Irish pipers before, they are always moved by this gentle giant of an instrument. It fills your senses and is fascinating to watch; the tone is deep & complex with wonderful high harmonics, the low earthy but gentle growl of the three drones providing a primeval bed over which the chanter’s melody and regulators’ chords soar.

When I was in church as a baby, I used to cry the whole time except when the organ was playing, which dumbfounded my parents. However, they concluded that I responded well to music and found me a piano teacher when I was 7 years old. I’ve been playing ever since then, and I now play the piano and organ at wedding ceremonies and drinks receptions all around the country.
I’m just as comfortable playing sheet music and learning by ear, so there’s no need to go looking for sheet music if there’s a song you’d love to have played at your wedding. This genre of music and overall vibe really helps to get the party going at a wedding, especially at a drinks reception! The guests are in the mood for music to set up their day’s celebration and we try to energise the room and get everybody in good form and ready for a good Irish wedding.
We specialise in authentic trad folk and ballads and we do this genre extremely well with our own versions of “Rocky road to Dublin” “Rattlin bog” and “Grace” , In the spirit of Irish musical evolution we have started to incorporate the very best in contemporary acoustic music to give our set a broader appeal but with our distinctly Irish folky sound. We can jam along with Pink Floyd and talking heads now with a jig or reel thrown in at the end to keep the vibe uniquely Irish. Some people might know be best as the lead female singer of Entourage Wedding Band. I front and manage the band, and I just LOVE it ! With Entourage, I really get to see all musical aspects of the day between Ceremony Music, Pre Dinner-Music (via www.jennycullenmusic.com) and then later on, rocking out with Entourage (www.entourageweddingband.com).
The Band are so talented – the unique mashups that we do are always high energy and help keep the musical juices flowing. Whilst the versatility of our set due to having strong lead male & female vocals, is a real joy for me as a vocalist!
My Singing background …
I was originally stage schooled in England and had trials with the Royal Ballet of London. But singing was really my thing and before moving to Ireland, I was really in the musical theatre circuit.
My family are Irish and what was great for me about moving back to Ireland is that music is so prominent – and there is so much talent & opportunity to get out there performing! I very quickly got to experience and perform all genres of music around Ireland from Gospel, Soul, Country, Pop and Rock !
I put myself through college singing radio jingles, freelance studio work & even joined an ABBA Tribute show. But I’ve been firmly on the Wedding & Corporate circuit now for 20yrs now and have never looked back
As I’ve had classical training, I enjoy getting the chance to sing Ave Maria and the likes of Celine Dion’s version of The Prayer within my wedding ceremonies. It’s a chance to push myself and show my versatility. When people see me singing Proud Mary with Entourage Band, they don’t automatically think, ‘she’d do a good classical piece’ but tat’s why I love it when we are booked for the whole day and night. People shouldn’t have to choose different singers … they might like a classical piece to open their ceremony …. follow up with a Celtic nod with some Mary Black. Throw in a bit of soul from Lady Gaga with the likes of “Always Remember Us this way” … and then finished with a good upbeat number like “Dreams” from the Cranberries to dance them down the aisle. A total mixed bag !
And I love being able to deliver for people – whether it’s creating a ballad version of a rock or dance classic or churning out a fun and / or vocally technical piece – I’ll never say no !
