I am a traditional style folk ballad singer who specialises in the after party or day two party of your wedding, but could also provide ceremony music and pre-dinner entertainment or even a small band for your wedding. If you are looking for a good traditional Irish singsong session to entertain your guests then look no further.
I sing, play Guitar, Banjo and harmonica, whistle and percussion. I mainly play as a solo act but can be accompanied by a fiddle or accordion player on request. As a 2 or 3 piece band we could provide the music for your reception and get your guests singing and dancing all night long in true Irish wedding fashion. The options are all yours so just let us know what you need and well take it from there.
I love the after party of a wedding the most! Playing trad and singing ballads into the wee hours (or until the bar closes!) can really close your special day in the most wonderful way. Everyone has a party piece or song they love to sing (regardless of talent) and I can accommodate most peoples wishes, as long as I don't have to sing Wagon Wheel...…..that's where I draw the line! I play Banjo, Guitar and Harmonica and cover all the old favourites of the Irish folk scene from The Dubliners and Luke Kelly to Christy Moore, Wolfe Tones and The Furies. Those old songs, many of them are with us since our childhoods are a store of happy memories and a great part of who we are as a people. I love to sing them and love to hear an audience singing them too, it turns a good night into a night to remember.

Brendan was very helpful in selecting songs for the ceremony, and he went out of his way to accommodate our plans: he came all the way to the island of Inishmore for us, even though it meant a full day of travel for him. We had a small elopement style wedding with an open air ceremony in a church ruin and lunch at the pub afterwards. Brendan seemed perfectly at home in both locations. He was playing wherever we went, had a good feel for the mood and the songs to pick. And while he was very professional the entire time, he seemed to be at ease and to genuinely enjoy playing for us.
Having Brendan at our ceremony was like having a friend around. A very skilled and talented friend. Besides the music, it was just nice to have him around.
A musical performance review on someone that you hire can be very subjective. Well let me tell you there is nothing subjective about this review as there were over 100 people who will agree with the following.
Brendan's music was fantastic. His skills in playing and vocals were excellent. He chose songs that were blended excellently together and got the toes tapping. He got the crowd going and created a great atmosphere with his performance. The “quality” of the performance was outstanding.
