Electric Lemon were, without a doubt, the best wedding band we could ever have hoped for. Not only were they great to deal with but they accommodated very little request we had and played I think every song we suggested. We originally saw them gigging in Monroe's in Galway and contacted them soon after the gig. They hail from Dunshaughlin but were able to travel to Waterford for our wedding no bother and they seem to cover a wide area. They arrived in very trendy casual/fancy suits (no jackets) and were totally engaged with crowd all night.
Our first dance was Fisherman Blues and they did a wonderful cover of it. They were fun with the crowd and honestly I know I may be a little biased, but the dance floor was packed all night. They offered DJ services also which we availed of and we are so glad that we did. They had a real sense of what the crowd and we wanted and so the transition was seamless and the fun uninterrupted!!! Me and my now wife originally came across Electric Lemon back in Barrys Pub in cork over 10 years ago, my first time seeing them and they were excellent that evening, at the time I had made point of remembering their name as a band I wanted to see live again.
When we got engaged I knew who I wanted to contact to see if they were still available. Luckily our date was free on their calendar and we were given a list of upcoming gigs to go along to. We went to see them in the laurels in Clondalkin. And as previously in Barrys in cork they were excellent. We booked them later that night.
In the run up to the wedding any email I had sent were answered very quickly normally within an hour or two. We wanted our guests to request a song and we passed these onto Electric Lemon who were more than happy to play as many as they could and carried some over into the DJ set.
A special memory for me when I had requested any oasis song in an email probably a week out from the wedding, they finished the live music session with an acoustic version of don?t look back in anger which brought the house down. I know there is clip from that song on their FB page.
On the day they were seamless.. No hassle, they dealt with the hotel directly and were set up and ready for our first dance.
We couldn?t have been happier with the music on the night, the lads really know what they are doing and are experienced musicians ? the dance floor was busy all night ? exactly what we wanted.
I can?t even remember how many time we were asked who they were and to be told how good they were.. That?s always a telling sign.
I could not recommend Electric Lemon highly enough.
If you see them advertised to play in a location near you go and see them you won?t be disappointed!
