We had a special day in Fota, everything came together so perfectly! Our family and friends have all been raving about the venue and the service from the staff ever since.

The venue is incredible, from the moment you drive in the gates to the moment you leave, it feels magical! The Smith Barry Suite is fantastic, it looks amazing and provides such a great setting with beautiful gardens and stunning reception area. The grounds were immaculate, and any guests who stayed in the rooms or the lodges were all treated to a 5 star service.

The most important element to the day is how incredible the staff are. Everyone we dealt with in the months leading up to the wedding and on the big day itself was a true professional. Nessa, in the weddings team, was our main point of contact and could not have been more helpful throughout. She is so experienced, which really makes a difference - she thought of every little detail, things we never would have thought to ask, which really makes a difference to the smooth running on the day. No request was too big or too small and every detail was taken care of. The whole wedding department are superb, they are always quick to respond and are on top of every detail.

Jenna and her team on the night were excellent, they gave all of our guests a real 5 star experience, and the food was spectacular!

Last but certaintly not least to mention is John Coleman, the Concierge Manager. John is an amazing professional, and person. He is right at the top of his game, we've never experienced service like it. Any time we visited Fota in the build up to the wedding, John was there to answer questions and give advice or share a joke. On the weekend of the wedding, he could not have been more supportive, always checking in to make sure we were enjoying ourselves and taking care of anything we needed, sometimes before we even knew we needed it! The day can be a bit of a blur, and it defintely goes by too quickly, but John recognises this and really helped to make the day special, and build in little moments for us to take a breather which we were really grateful for looking back. One story that sums up the level of service came just after we arrived at Fota on the day of the wedding. Kate mentioned (months before the wedding!) that she was a coeliac and loves these macaroons from a local bakery. We considered having instead of a wedding cake, but as it happened, the kitchen were excellent and were able to cater for her diet perfectly so we decided not to go extenally. John banked this information, and on the morning of the wedding he swung by the bakery and picked up the macaroons for her. When we arrived he had them on a plate as a surprise. It was such a lovely moment that stood out, in a day of amazing moments, and is just one of lots of little stories we have from guests the staff in Fota going above and beyond to make our day so special!

We cannot thank all of the staff enough, we just wish we could do it all over again!

We celebrated our wedding on July 1st 2023 in Fota Island Resort. From the moment we booked right up to the day itself the process was seamless. Nothing was ever too much to ask for, we met every member of staff prior to or early in the day including the head chef, service manager, wedding co-ordinator and many more so that we knew who to go to if there were any issues, which was very reassuring. I am still to this day hearing compliments about the food and service which was outstanding on the day. We were blessed with the weather so we took our photos on the grounds. This was so helpful as it gave us plenty of time to spend with guests whilst still having beautiful photos. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is planning their wedding.

Fota Island Resort provided the perfect venue for our summer wedding. From the first time that we visited to view the hotel in 2019, right up to our wedding (with a few visits in between) the hotel staff were very welcoming and accommodating.
In the lead up, the wedding team were always very helpful and answered any questions and requests that we had promptly.
On the day, our guests were full of compliments on the service provided and the hotel as a whole.
We had the most amazing time and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Fota Island Resort to any couple that are considering it as a wedding venue.

We were absolutely delighted with the venue, including the layout of the function room. We also loved the food. However, it was the staff and level of service, that makes Fota stand out from the crowd.

Everything went perfectly on the day of our wedding and Aoife was an amazing wedding coordinator. Can't thank her enough for help assistance over the past few months.

Just a quick email to thank you for everything on Saturday and in the lead up to the day. We had an amazing day that wouldn't have been possible without the outstanding service from the hotel.

We wanted to drop a note and say many thanks for all your help, support and patience in making our big day so special! From the moment we walked in the door on the day (and even before) everything went so well and better than we could have ever imagined. This is down to all the planning that you put in - ye thought of everything and it all went off without a hitch. You all contributed to us having such an amazing day - beyond our expectations and we'll always remember the role you played.

We'd also like to give a special mention to Frank and all the kitchen staff, the food on the day was superb! Marie Claire and Amy looked after us so well on the day and Chantelle was a superstar at breakfast time! Thanks also to Lynn, John, & Mark for supporting everyone arriving to and leaving the hotel - we heard lots of stories of the little ways they helped make our guests stay easier and we appreciate that.

Everyone we have spoken to since has been so complimentary of not just the food, but how they were looked after by all the staff and you all really helped our day be even more special.

There are really no words to describe Fota Island. We booked it knowing we would have a magical wedding - but then COVID hit and everything kept chopping and changing (as with all couples during this time). At no point did the wedding team make us feel that we could not have the wedding we dreamed of, and how right they were!
They were on hand at every opportunity taking the majority of stress away from us. For every problem that appeared, they had a solution.

For the wedding itself, we literally cannot say anything as we are still speechless how amazing it turned out. For the amount of last minute changes, we barely knew of the logistical issues faced by the hotel. No request was too big or too small for what we needed, and the enthusiasm of the entire hotel to host us was really was felt by every guest at the wedding.

If you are thinking of having your wedding in Fota, stop thinking and just do it! You will not be disappointed.

Thank you for everything Aoife and team for giving us a day we will never forget, we are itching to get back down!!

The whole team at Fota were so helpful and friendly at all times. They made planning a wedding during Covid as easy as possible and were always so quick to reply if we ever had a question. The food was beautiful and everyone complimented the quality of the food and service they received on the day. The hotel itself is stunning and the drinks reception was perfect for us. The indoor drinks reception room was lovely and the garden out the back was beautiful for during the drinks reception too. The wedding team, Aoife in particular, couldn't have done more to make our day extra special and I couldn't recommend the hotel more!

Just wanted to say thanks so much for everything. We had the most amazing day on Saturday and everything was perfect.
The night in the lodge then topped it off lovely and the card, robes and treats were a lovely surprise.

We had our wedding reception in Fota Resort on 11/12/2020. This was our third attempt to get married this year. Originally we had planned for a vey large wedding in July then we scaled right back to 50 guests for Oct. Both times, we felt the need to postpone due to Covid 19 restrictions. In Nov, we decided to go for it and plan for December. Each time our plans changed, our Co-ordinator Aoife supported and encouraged us. Initially, we were excited to hold our reception in the newly refurbished Smith Barry Suite. As the months went by, it was obvious that this room would appear too big for our reception. As the numbers of guests was reduced to 25 in Dec, Aoife showed us the Cove in Fota Resort. It was perfect for an intimate reception. The room was set up beautifully with four round tables. Background music was played for the evening as live music was not permitted due to level 3 restrictions. The Christmas decor all throughout the hotel really added to the occasion. The bridal suite in the hotel is also amazing. We enjoyed spa treatments prior to our wedding and this were so relaxing and of a high standard. We had a section of the Amber Lounge reserved for our drinks reception. Our guests had lots of space to relax and to sample the various canopies and bubbles! The evening of our food tasting was so much fun. We had our own personalised menu and the chef Tomas spoke to us about each course. Nothing was too much trouble and we adapted our menu to suit various dietary requirements. The food and wine for our wedding reception meal was delicious and this was echoed by our guests. The hotel grounds and driveway enabled us to capture some wonderful, memorable photographs.
Our guests have complimented the venue on several occasions saying how comfortable and safe they felt throughout the day.

After a memorable proposal, we just knew it had it be Fota Island Resort for the wedding reception. Valentines night was our first night staying there, but the next morning we met some of the team and checked out the function room. We knew from the beginning they’d do a great job. Ciara Greene was our wedding coordinator and she gave us the best advice and support. We really enjoyed dealing with Ciara, nothing was too much trouble.
The hotel reception was everything we hoped for and so much more. Ciara and all the team did a super job. The food was outstanding and everyone seemed to really enjoy the day.

Definitely recommend Fota as a choice of Wedding Venue.

We could not recommend Fota Island Resort highly enough. From the moment we met Katie our wedding coordinator nothing was too big a deal. Katie was a pleasure to work with, so accomodating and helpful in the lead up to our day. All the staff were amazing on the day itself everything ran so smoothly and the food was amazing! We had our wedding at Fota Island Resort and could not recommend it highly enough. The team were really engaged in the planning from the initial consultation right up to the day itself. Everything was taken care of right down to the smallest of details.
The wedding co-ordinator ensured that the cake, band and photographer were all looked after in the lead up to the wedding and on the day as well.
The catering team was excellent, and we had so many people compliment the food and service provided.

We married at Fota Island earlier this month, and quite simply had the greatest 4 days of our lives.

The hotel staff are of the highest standard in the country, I have no doubts about that – from Paddy and the team at the concierge desk, through to Will and the restaurant staff, Tomasz and the banqueting team and the room service teams – everyone always happy to chat and help – not once were we met with ‘No, we can’t do that’ – the answer was always positive – And it made our 4 day stay so much more relaxed.

Patricia Murray and all the wedding team are in a different league - their focus on the customer, attention to detail, empathy and patience is of a level I have never seen before and it made for a very smooth and easy process of planning our wedding day. They never let on that any of our demands were totally outrageous, and they always had the right answer to keep the show on the road.
We held a 'day 2' BBQ in the golf clubhouse and it was every bit as good as the big day in itself. The setting on the terrace overlooking the 18th green was spectacular. The food prepared by the chefs was out of this world!
Would absolutely recommend Fota Island for the perfect wedding.

We had an absolutely amazing day and weekend! We were so thrilled with everything on the wedding day, there wasn't a single thing we could have faulted. So many guests have come back to us to let us know how impressed they were with the service, food and the venue in general. Everyone had a great time! And we even got our sing song in the residents bar until about 5am!

The setting for the BBQ the next day was just gorgeous the team there did a beautiful job setting it up and the food was delicious again.

What an amazing day!! Our wedding planner Rachel was outstanding and provided help every step of the way. Our wedding was in the Golf Club and it was a beautiful venue with special touches and surprises for us as a couple but also our guests. The Golf Club wedding team were always on hand from arrival to late a night The food was outstanding & Bart as our personal waiter was very attentive. The location ensured that it was a romantic and intimate wedding that our 70 guests thought was very special. The hotel bedroom was gorgeous and the special breakfast service the following morning was perfect. From the moment we chose Fota resort for our wedding we knew it was the right decision. Our planner Patricia was so nice to deal with and always had everything under control. We are from Co. Meath so it's a bit of a distance to Fota but this was never an issue as the hotel took care of every little detail.
The atmosphere in the hotel, the venue and the food!! It was everything we hoped for. Fota Resort is a top location.

Staff were so professional & made every effort to ensure that we had an amazing day. No request was an issue. All our friends were looked after. The only issue was the couple married from the day before would not vacate the bridal suite so we had 15 minutes getting my dress on & taking photos before the ceremony started.

Had our wedding on New years eve and it was superb. The staff were excellent,as well as very friendly and efficient at what they do. Fota Island resort has the best wedding co-ordinator around. Fair play to Hazel for putting everything together for us on the night. She was so easy to deal with. The venue looked amazing when everything came together on the night for us. The food served on the night was to die for. It was cooked to perfection. We could not find any faults with this venue for our wedding and thanks to everyone involved in making our wedding a one to remember.

We stayed for 3 nights for a family staycation in August. My eldest daughter (4) wanted to stay forever! The pool was great, the room was beautiful and the food delicious and right next door to the wildlife park... highly recommended!!!
