The Location
A 19th century farm house bursting with charming corners and idyllic leisure places such as flowery gardens, a pond, a biologic swimming pool and a kind of magical forest. Quinta da Fontoura is located in Aveiro district, just 20km from white sandy beaches and 60km from Oporto airport. We have accommodation for up to 20 guests, can suggest hotels in Agueda or Aveiro, and also, provide transfers from/to airport or hotels.
The Ceremony
You can have a civil/religious ceremony, or just a symbolic one. Perform your ceremony without additional travel, in a magical setting, in the woods, gardens or a charming chapel nearby (located on the other side of the road). The team that planned your party will make sure you have the dream day, without having to worry about anything.
The Reception
Enjoy large and wide gardens exclusively at your disposal. With a 200 guest capacity for a wedding reception, your guests will enjoy breath taking sunset light reflecting on the pond below from our glass tent.
We offer all-inclusive destination wedding packages thoroughly thought for the perfect day of our couples. Our team is in constant contact with the couples, since the first moment until the day after the wedding. Our wedding planner can make bespoke menus and arrange all the suppliers needed, making the planning of a wedding abroad an easy and trusting process.

There could not have been a venue that better suited our wishes. Quinta da Fontoura is fantastic and quite beautiful, with a country look and care. All of our guests praised it as well as the decor. Mariana was always fully available and took care of all the details with great skill and commitment, as well as all the other staff with whom we are extremely satisfied. The head of room, Hugo, came to talk to us several times to ask for our opinion and make timely and very welcome suggestions. The accommodation is also excellent, with a rural feel. The breakfast served the next day was quite varied and delicious. I believe that whoever chooses Quinta da Fontoura will not regret it.

We were looking for a venue in the forest for a very simple and informal civil wedding. We were delighted with the forest at Quinta da Fontoura, and immediately afterwards we were also delighted with the team that welcomed us! It was an absolutely perfect day, it totally exceeded our expectations for a late afternoon party with family and friends. The entire team was tireless with the preparations, the prior organization in the months that preceded (with the added difficulty of the pandemic context), and then with the preparation of the venue, both for the ceremony and for the remaining moments. We just have to be very grateful for having aligned with us in simplicity, joy and games. We cannot fail to mention Alexandra, Jorge and all the catering staff O Sentido da Gula, for their human and professional excellence, it was a privilege to share this day with everyone. A very special thank you to Mariana and Jo?o, our right arms in the realization of our wedding, even better than we imagined!

We couldn't be more pleased with the choice of Quinta da Fontoura. When we visited it for the first time, we immediately identified with the venue. The surroundings of nature and natural convey a romantic and peaceful atmosphere. Mariana was tireless, always attentive and available, she was our right arm throughout the process. Jo?o was always available, he ensured that everything was to our liking. On the day the venue was very beautiful, all environments were wonderful as we had envisioned. A big thank you also to Dr. Alberto for his dedication and love for his venue, he created a beautiful place that marked us forever. Thank you all very much, we would, without a doubt, work with this team again.

We couldn't be more pleased with the choice of Quinta da Fontoura for our day. The green and romantic surroundings of the venue, the peace that it conveys and Jo?o's care were the points that attracted us at the time of choice. Jo?o was always available to help us and be flexible in what was possible, so that everything was to our liking. Mariana was also very important throughout the process, always attentive to our needs and available whenever we had doubts or questions. The professionalism and competence of both exceeded our expectations. They faced the whole process with a sense of commitment and responsibility. On the day the venue was beautiful; the whole environment around the lake, the lights outside and in the tent. All charming and even more beautiful than we imagined. Although, we only met Dr. Alberto later, his dedication to the place and his willingness on the wedding day for everything to be like our wishes, marked us. We can see all the sentimental value that Quinta da Fontoura has had over generations. All magnificent and unforgettable. We couldn't be more satisfied. Our thanks to the entire team.

Quinta da Fontoura is a beautiful place. We were looking for a property disposing of a forest, where we could celebrate our wedding. We found this gorgeous venue which met all our requirements. I cannot quite express how much happy we are with the choice we've made. Not only the ceremony's location positively exceeded all our expectations, but also the ? Quinta's entire area, the dining room, wedding reception, accommodations and gardens, left nothing to be desired. They excel by excellent service and attention to detail. Both on the day of the event and throughout the whole preparation stage, they were super attentive and professional with us. I leave a special thanks to Mariana, who coordinates the venue, tireless and who helped us make our day a little extra special. Thank you all

We couldn't have chosen better! From the beginning we knew that our wedding had to be at Quinta da Fontoura, from the forest to the lake, to the tent, everything is magical and thought out in detail. Quinta da Fontoura was an easy choice for us. We wanted an intimate, naturally beautiful marriage that reflected the simplicity of love. Quinta da Fontoura represented that and much more. From the fact that it has multiple spaces with different characteristics (a forest for the ceremony; a space with a lake for the aperitifs; a beautiful tent for the meal and party; accommodation for the bride and groom and family/guests if necessary), the having a catering company hired, whose food had nothing but praise; dealing with the decoration of the outdoor spaces (which was amazing!) and having a fantastic organization that allowed us to relax during the day and ensure that things happened (Mariana and Jo?o impeccable!). Our wedding was already in COVID times and in this aspect also Quinta da Fontoura was very well prepared and organized. It was a very special day and we will always recommend Quinta da Fontoura as a very special place to get married. Thanks to Mariana, Jo?o and Dr. Alberto for everything! We have to go back.

From the planning to the execution of the event, both the venue and the catering deserve high score. Very friendly, attentive, helpful and flexible. In times of a pandemic, they were very receptive to all our ideas and agreed to hold the entire ceremony abroad, even though it was a much more complex logistics. The venue is just fabulous! Congratulations to Mariana who, even with few indications from us, managed to make the venue look almost perfectly decorated. Congratulations to everyone because, on a day like this, they were always very attentive to every detail and never let us or our guests miss anything.

From the moment we started planning our wedding, we decided we didn't really want a "theme", what we idealized was a "Wedding in the Woods"! What was our surprise when we discovered, just by chance, that 20 minutes from our house was the place of our dreams. It was the second venue we visited, 18 months in advance and we didn't see any more! We immediately decided that this would be the place where we would hold the civil ceremony and the wedding reception. Do you know those places that look magical, so beautiful they are? That's what we felt on that day, fairytale characters, us and our guests who loved the space, the decor, the staff. "The farm house is so beautiful, that raw nature", "And the tent?!? Full of lights." What a dream, our dream! On the day, it rained heavily for 10 minutes at the time of the appetizers and even that seemed to be part of the schedule. All the staff, whether from the venue / catering and animation immediately resolved the situation and our guests were so happy, so delighted that not even that spoiled the party. On the contrary, "wet marriage, blessed marriage" all said! But this dream was not possible without the help, initially of Rita and later of Mariana. They were exceptional in organizing every detail for the big day! Regarding the day itself, we have to thank besides Mariana, Jessica and our dear head of the room, Z?lia, who always assured us that we were not missing anything, neither us nor our guests. Thank you very much from the bottom of our hearts for helping us to ensure that September 14th was the special day it was, it will be forever etched in our memory and in our hearts. Everything went so well that the next day we just wanted to get married again. Thanks to Quinta da Fontoura and all the staff, who were exceptional!

On June 8, 2019 we made our wedding and we opted for Quinta da Fontoura, since they were always very accessible and flexible (we are residing in the Azores).
I?d like to especially thank Rita who organized everything and was tireless, Mariana who received the "briefcase" and it was amazing to the end, Z?lia the flexible and patient spectacular room manager.
The event and every moment organized by the team with the bridegrooms came out better than expected and all minor setbacks promptly resolved.
Amazing place to cater for special events such as weddings, very charming and went down a treat with all the guests.

It was the first venue that we visited and we fell in love with the environment, space, the woods and also the lake. What stood out the most was the friendliness and professionalism of the staff involved in the organization, namely Rita, who helped us so much and demonstrated a very high level of service. In 5 months, we organized our dream wedding, it was a fantastic and unforgettable day. That day (May 18, 2019), we were able to have fun and make the most of it, without worrying about the party, thanks to Rita, Mariana and the head chef. Just as we were able to provide the 150 guests with an unforgettable day and experience. Many have given us good feedback and intend to return there. A word of appreciation for the catering company ?O Sentido da Gula?, very well organized and with an abundance of good quality food. Congratulations to the whole team, they exceeded our expectations. It was the best day of our lives, thanks to all of you! Thank you!

I know everyone says this about their wedding but we felt that we were living in a real life fairytale from start to finish and our guests have told us they felt the exact same way. It was out of this world!
We are an Irish couple, living in Ireland and it was so easy and relaxed planning everything with the Quinta.
We arrived to the Quinta two days before the wedding with all our family and were welcomed by Alberto. Breakfast was laid on each morning with breads/ croissants baked freshly in the bakery downstairs, we had a kitchen to prepare food ourselves and also a nespresso machine. The entire Quinta was charming, authentic and homely. They also provided toys/ slides/ rocking horse for our nephews to play on throughout our stay. No request was too big or small. My entire family were blown away by the beauty of the area and friendliness of the staff. Jo?o (our wedding planner) overlooked everything down to the finest details.
On the wedding day, our guests (70, all Irish) arrived on buses from Porto and were provided with welcoming drinks. We had our wedding ceremony in the enchanted forest. It was simply stunning, like something out of a movie! Moving onto to appetisers, there was so much delicious food and a massive variety of drinks available to guests. We sat beside the lake having a great time.
The reception was held in the A/C marquee which was decorated beautifully. Again, the food/ wine was out of this world and we were offered seconds at every course, which plenty of guests availed of as it was so tasty.
There was plenty of room for dancing and chatting throughout the night. The venue provide a dessert buffet including cheeses which was laid out after the meal on the terrace and everyone could go up and down to it whenever they please or needed a break from dancing.
We also had a great time cutting the cake in the lake with music and fireworks going off behind us.
Every moment was truly magical and you simply would not get a patch of the quality or service in Ireland. And also guaranteed good weather, what more could you ask for?! (it was 25 degrees Celsius with a light breeze on our wedding day).
I will never forget the day or the very special and kind people of Quinta da Fontoura.
