Aran Islands Hotel

I honestly cannot say enough good things about our experience at the Aran Islands Hotel. Niall and his team are so incredible as well as the hotel staff that took care of us all weekend. Everyone was so flexible and the entire day and weekend ran so smoothly. The island is such a beautiful place and we worried about the accessability of the island, but Nial and his team made it so seemless and easy

I have worked in a lot of hotels in Cork City and worked at a lot of weddings in my time so when it came to my own wedding I wanted something different and out of the ordinary. I didn?t want the flatpack, clip-to-assemble packaged wedding that I had seen a thousand times.
Karen, my fianc?e (now wife) and I, searched for different and alternative weddings in Ireland that would still be romantic but with that ?Je ne sais quoi? of an enchanted Irish wedding.
We even googled terms like ?different weddings Ireland? or ?alternative weddings Ireland? but the right wedding for us found us in the form of The Aran Islands Hotel.
The main benefit of an island wedding was that our guest left their cars and troubles behind as they disembarked from the ferry. Each guest was committed to a few days of relaxation in an friendly atmosphere which offered the opportunity to connect with family and friends and to completely switch off and absorb the proceedings of our wedding day.
The local community around Kilronan and Inismor were grateful to us for bringing the wedding to the island because of the benefits to the community as a whole and we were treated as minor celebrities as the Bride and Groom.
Niall Madigan and the staff at The Aran Islands Hotel never let their limited resources and humble surroundings, be boundaries to our imaginations and dreams of a prefect wedding which we have romanticized over for half our lives. Set against a transitional backdrop on the edge of the world, where white sands, and karst rock combine to offer a homely relaxed wedding in an atmosphere of pure love and endless welcomes.
As an archaeologist I have always loved the raw beauty of west of Ireland and found the perfect alternative wedding venue in the Aran Islands Hotel. The Hotel staff treated us like family and our every need was catered for with a smile and I can honestly say that we were on first name terms with all of the staff be the time we left the Island as Mr and Mrs Keating.
Our fairy tale wedding was complete and our happy ever after has begun, writing new pages day by day.

We got married September 2017 and had the best time ever! Niall and his team go above and beyond the call of duty! The only negative was the weekend went too quick.

We booked the Aran Islands Hotel for our small wedding party (approx. 35) having arranged a spiritual, non-religious, wedding with Dara O'Maoildhia on the island. Admittedly, we were a little hesitant at first but choice on the island is limited and we had our hearts set on the outdoor wedding at Cill Chiar?in. Looking back now, we wouldn't have had it any other way. From start to finish, it was easy to organise, the team at the hotel were an absolute pleasure to deal with and the guests were totally 'wowed' by their visit to the island (we arranged a morning trip of the island to make sure they got to see it). The quality of the 'marquee' was better than many a hotel function room, with the added bonus of amazing sea views. There was no sense of wanting to rush us in and out either, as I've seen at other wedding venues, and the food was really excellent. The icing on the cake, for us, was that they managed to find a small traditional music group to play the evening out.

Niall, Keith and the whole team were a pleasure to work with in both the run up to the wedding and in the days after our celebrations. There were no issues and they had any issues resolved before we ever realised that they were there! There isn't one thing that we would have changed for our wedding on the Aran Islands.

Niall and Keith's crew of wonderful staff were Amazing and really pulled out all the stops for us on our special weekend and any time we visited before the big day.
We dealt mostly with Niall and he was always friendly and helpful and genuine with us. Would highly recommend here just one thing to note to prospective Brides this is an island location and even though Niall and his team will do everything they possibly can to make your day special wonderful, it is on an island.
We would do it all over again and not change a thing. Sorry that's a lie I'd of shorten the best man's speech cause I was starving and to me 30mins is a novel not a speech!!!!
