Castle Oaks House Hotel & Estate

I cant in good conscious give a good review. I had never planned on giving a review until I saw the email from weddingsonline.
Our day was perfect UNTIL we got to the Castle Oaks, our dream venue I might add. I had some worries before our day on certain things but was assured by Martina that I had nothing to worry about. God was I mistaken!! I should have worried and I should have shouted till I was understood and listened to.
I'm a picky eater and vegetarian. I didn't like any of their veggie options so asked could I get stir fried veg with a side of chips. A noodle stir fry was provided at the taster which I said was not what I asked for but was assured that what I did want would be provided on the day. I received a vegetable stir fry with chips mixed in to the sauce like the noodles would have been. It was vile and inedible. My bridesmaid got a sour steak and ended up spitting it out. We also had issues with guests meals.
I was a DIY bride and loved every minute of making my decor. I put months of evenings after work making and planning everything from favours to bingo to the sweet and tayto carts. I checked with Martina when we booked that this was okay and was told it was no problem. I dropped all my stuff along with nearly €200 worth of extra sweets for the sweet cart and day 2 to the venue on the Thursday before our day. I met Martina and she assured me all would be kept safe and set up exactly how I wanted on the day. At no point did she tell me that she doesn't work weekends (which I found out on the day of our wedding once I noticed things were missing including the extra sweets!!) The card box wasnt locked and my mother found the cards falling out the back of it in reception. When she asked for a lock no one knew where to find one. I let a lot go on the day as I didn't want it to ruin our day entirely but on the day 2 I realised how much was missing and how much had gone wrong. An amazing member of the bar staff helped me so much and found as much as he could. I was heading for a breakdown that day if it wasn't for him.
I noticed the price of the day 2 wasn't on our bill when we settled up so assumed this was an apology. I received an email 2 weeks after our wedding that there had been a computer error and this amount was owed. I sent an email back outlining everything that happened and assumed it was an apology. Nearly 3 months later and I have never received a response.
I couldn't recommend the hotel less which is heartbreaking as the grounds and building were our absolute dream venue.

On the day itself everything went beautifully and the staff did everything in their power to make it all flow without hassle. The food throughout the day was divine and everyone complimented it. All the guests were also very impressed with generous portions of food and Prosecco and wine! The bridal suite was stunning. I also want to highly recommend the girls in the Velvet Rooms (part of the hotel) , who got all the bridal party ready and were just a joy to have as part of the day. 10/10 to all the Castleoaks team. Martina has been amazing to work with. She tookus in when bunratty couldn't. She had been soo helpful with helping us plan the wedding while we were living in Manchester. Any questions she was there 24/7. On the day itself, the staff were so friendly and attentive and the food was fab! Plenty to go around and not a drop in everyone's glass! Our guests couldn't stop talking how beautiful the hotel was set up. It literally been the wedding we have been dreaming off! Thank you castleoaks for everything

We had the most gorgeous day celebrating our wedding at the Castleoaks. Having two little boys we really wanted a venue that felt safe, relaxed and homely. The staff and house were exactly that. The atmoaphere was relaxed and warm, everything ran like clockwork. Luckily, we had a dry day and a last minute decision to have our drinks reception outside was organised without issue. Where do we even start- from the minute we booked until we checked?out after day 2 we were so well looked after. The team are absolutely?incredible and the attention'to detail is something else. Our day was even more than we could have asked for. We wanted the intimate?and personal feel and that was exactly?what we got. Guests?were very impressed with the food and service by the waiting staff. They were also super accommodating?to guests?who were late for breakfast. Nothing was an issue and everyone?went above and beyond?to make our day feel special.We couldn't have asked for better!?The hotel and the grounds offered countless photo opportunities and we love all the shots we got.?

Love, love, love the staff and great service we received from the team, particularly Martina. Margaret who worked the bar area was outstanding! Our special day could not have been any better. Only issue we experienced was with some errors in guests? overnight room bookings. Some did not understand they had a private bedroom in a larger shared space. Otherwise, everything was perfect! Loved the food! The house itself is charming and beautifully decorated.

My husband and I recently had our wedding at castle oaks. It was just superb from start to finish...the venue was beautiful, food fantastic and the staff were super friendly and helpful. All the staff went out of their way to make our day the best and we cannot thank them enough. A beautiful venue with a lovely forest and river walk. Cannot wait to receive our pictures back!

The Castle Oaks provided excellent service and were very helpful. Nothing was too much hassle for them. The food was excellent! We had our day 2 downstairs in the River Rooms also. The Castle Oaks felt like home for our wedding weekend.

Both myself and my husband celebrated our wedding in the Castleoaks just a few weeks ago, all we can say is that they made our day better than we could have ever expected!
Originally we had planned our wedding for a different venue, who had to cancel on us just 5 months out. After this we met with Martina (the Wedding Co-Ordinator) in the Oaks. From that day on, Martina went above and beyond for us- I mean nothing was a problem! She simply took away every bit of stress we had, she really looked after us.

The Venue, the staff, the food, the accommodation, the drinks reception- it was all second to none, exceptional!
The kindness from the staff towards us and our guests meant so much to us, everyone has mentioned this to us since the wedding. A special thank you to Leah, Josephine and Maggie- our guests are still singing your praises! Everything we wanted we got- and more!!
We had the ?Singing Chef? for after dinner entertainment and every single staff member in the function room got involved- singing and dancing! They were brilliant!

The food- I genuinely don't have words for this- the most important part of any Irish wedding for us is the food! ( We are definitely food people!) and it was UNBELIEVABLE!! The food itself was exceptional but the amount of it was just unreal! So much, but we still managed to fit in some supermacs later that night! Yes- the evening food served later in the night was Supermacs! It was brilliant! Delicious

We would highly recommend the Castle Oaks to any couple for their wedding. The venue is stunning. From the exceptionally well maintained grounds sitting on the banks of the Shannon to the iconic staircase in the country house and the beautiful stained glass windows in the ball room (that are from the original convent), this venue will blow you away.
The service that you will get as soon as you walk in the door is top class.
Martina the wedding coordinator is exceptional. She was a pleasure to deal with. She was very approachable and gave us great peace of mind that the Castle Oaks would have everything perfect on the day, which they did.
On the day itself Des, Josephine and Margaret, to name a few couldn't done enough for everyone. Our photographs took longer than expected. The meal was delayed by 30 minutes as a result and they facilitated our late change in plan without any issue.
The food provided for the reception and the meal was delicious and very well presented. More than one guest commented on how generous with the wine they were too!

Oh my, we cannot sing the praises any higher for the service the hotel provided last Friday for our wedding. From Martina the wedding organisers skills to Des the manager at our wedding reception, he was unflappable, friendly and professional at all times. The castleoaks are exceptional at what they do. We got married on the 9th September 2022. Castle Oaks was the first venue we saw and we fell in love. The warm and welcoming atmosphere had us sold immediately. The amazing grounds made for wonderful photos. The hotel were an absolute pleasure to deal with and we are so happy with our decision. Martina, Maggie, Dez and all of the staff were amazing. Nothing was ever too much. One of our suppliers cancelled last minute and the hotel provided everything they could to help us, Dez stepped in immediately. Everyone complimented us on the venue and people were absolutely delighted with the service. The food was outstanding and everyone raved about the meal. The chefs and the kitchen staff were absolutely lovely and even provided a meal for our dog on the day. The waiting staff were exceptional and we can not thank them enough. From beginning to end, Castle Oaks went above and beyond and we couldn't have asked for more. We had the most amazing day and it's definitely one we will never forget!

We got married at the Castle Oaks on 26th August. What can we say from start to finish we had the most perfect day. We could not be happier that we chose to have our reception there. We were very happy with our wedding day at The Castleoaks this summer, we found the staff very helpful and professional on the day. We really enjoyed it, it was the ideal venue for our wedding of 70 guests.

My husband and I recently tied the knot at Castle Oaks Hotel and we couldn't have been happier with the day. After doing a lot of research on venue options throughout Limerick and Clare, Castle Oaks is a rare gem that offers the character and romantic style of a country house without the extortionate price tag. The value for money surpassed any other venue we came across and the service was excellent. From start to finish, the staff were extremely helpful and their calm and experienced manner made planning our wedding a pleasure.

While the country house and gardens offered the perfect backdrop to our Humanist service and reception, we were given creative license to add a bit of our own personality to the space, with the venue being nothing but accommodating for our wedding vision! Our big day was everything we hoped for and our guests enjoyed the party just as much as we did. In fact, a couple who attended the wedding booked Castle Oaks for their own wedding! Another bonus is that there is plenty of accommodation on site and it's easily accessed from Limerick City and the M7 Motorway. We would definitely recommend Castle Oaks to any couple looking for a special venue in Limerick.

The castleoaks is a fantastic wedding venue. Everyone always met us with a smile throughout the whole experience especially on the day itself. They take care of everything and really take the pressure off. The food was exceptional, the function room was beautifully set up. Everything ran like clockwork. We absolutely loved the castle oaks as our wedding venue. We had our ceramony here also and it was just fabulous. Liam made the day so easy for us. The food is still been raved about by all our guests. The bridal suit was huge so so comfortable ????

We had our wedding on the 8th December 2018 and it was a fantastic day and I cant praise Liam and his team enough.....if i had to do it again i would be back in a flash....such professionalism yet so personalised care....the food, the ambiance and venue just fantastic.

Had an absolutely fantastic day here. Liam and the staff went well out of their way at all times to ensure we had the day we wanted. You'd know that they're all seasoned professionals at putting on weddings.

Everyone commented on how good the food was. They were happy to facilitate us in preparing a particular vegetarian dish we wanted on the menu.

As a venue itself it's a gorgeous setting and bridal suite was palatial and very comfortable. The reception area had been recently been updated and so acts very well as an area for both the main dinner and afters. In general there's a good flow to the whole place. It also felt quite homely and an intimate setting. Perfect really for ringing in the big day.

Loved every minute. So attentive to all emails and gave us options that met our wishes. I was planning my wedding from another country, which can feel a bit overwhelming but they made everything simple. The food was amazing! And the grounds are beautiful. We were so happy with everything.

Excellent choice of venue. The team were fantastic throughout and the day itself was perfect. Everyone from the general manager to the waiters and waitresses all played their part in making sure the day ran smoothly. As a couple, we had nothing to worry about on the day as it had all been planned and delivered as we had hoped for.

From the moment we stepped inside for our first viewing right up until our final departure the day after we were looked after at every single stage of our plans.

From start to finish our day was perfect. Not one hitch! When we first contacted the Castleoaks we were met by warm and friendly service which continued onward through every meeting, email and phone call. The staff, particularly Deirdre and Liam, could not do enough for us. There were specific things we wanted and needed for our day including food arrangements and also personal touches which we wanted to add. These were encouraged by the hotel and nothing seemed too much. Special mention to Liam who was so accommodating and helpful. He was incredibly attentive on the day itself-making sure that we were ok, checking in with us regularly and even at the end of the night making sure I had something to eat at the afters part of the evening.
The hotel and its surrounds are just incredible and the exclusiveness is something special. Everyone who was at the hotel that day was our guest. There is ample space for everyone to stay either in the hotel itself or the courtyard suites which are lovely. The food was outstanding and was commented on widely. Seconds and thirds were offered too and the wine seemed to flow endlessly!
We are so thrilled that we chose the Castleoaks Hotel. We had close ties to it and it was such a beautiful day. The best compliment we can give is that you made our dreams come true. Thank you!

We can't speak more highly of the venue and staff. Nothing was too much trouble; our decor/theme was quite unusual and the staff set everything up ahead of the reception, which was a fair bit of work. The meal was excellent on the day and feedback from guests was very complimentary all round. You're in safe hands with Liam, Deirdre and the team.

The only fault I could find was a lack of bar staff on the night; other than that the food, service, venue and staff were top class.

I can't put into words how happy we were with our wedding day. The Castle Oaks will always have a special place in my heart. The sun shone, the photos in the woods and by the river look like we stepped out of a fairytale. The staff were warm, genuine, extremely professional and took the utmost care in looking after every tiny detail.

We had our wedding reception in the Castleoaks in April 2018 and we honestly could not recommend the experience highly enough. I am from the area and was concerned being already familiar with the hotel would make it less special for us. Our experience was completely the opposite. Liam, Deirdre and the whole team were so accommodating and helpful in the run up to the day and the day itself went off without a hitch. We had a ball and wouldn't have changed a thing.

The size of the hotel made it so easy for ourselves and our guests to relax and make ourselves at home. From the minute we went in for the first viewing all the way through to now months later, when we call in, the welcome is amazing.

We were lucky enough to get a fabulous sunny day so all our photos from the setting on the river are lovely. Everything is so close by you don't have to be away from your guests for long which is a big bonus.

The Casteloaks has a great reputation for food and it was so good it even managed to take over from the sunny April weather, as being the main talking point of the day. Our guests still mention the amazing food to us now!

From the very first contact the Castle Oaks staff were helpful, responsive and professional. Planning the wedding from the UK added a bit of extra stress but Amy and Liam and their colleagues always answered emails quickly and made us feel special. The day itself was exactly how we'd hope it would be and we felt so looked after, with lovely little touches to make it extra special. The food was absolutely delicious - many guests have said it was the best wedding food they've had. And the service was excellent. All in all we have amazing memories of our few days at the Castle Oaks - extra bonus that all my friends and family from the UK could stay onsite in houses/apartments. I could not have been happier with service we received from Gobnait and all her staff at the Castleoaks. They were a pleasure to deal with on the lead up to the wedding. In particular when I was booking my wedding my main concern was that there was no lift in the hotel as I had a few guests who would have been unable to manage the stairs to the bedrooms. On booking our wedding Gobnait promised that a lift would be installed by the time our wedding day arrived and true to her word the new lift was in operation the day before my wedding.

The venue itself was beautiful and has a real homely feel to it. And the food is absolutely to die for!! So many guests commented to us how impressed they were with the meal.

I would highly recommend the Castleoaks to anyone planning a wedding. They really do go above and beyond to make the day go perfectly.

Living in Canada, we took a risk and booked the Castle Oaks for our wedding before we had even seen the venue. I've never made a better decision. Liam and the staff were extremely helpful and answered every little question we had from afar in the months and days leading up to the wedding. I'm really grateful to them for putting my mind at ease in that stressful time period, which really speaks to their experience and professionalism. The day itself was amazing - what a beautiful backdrop to get married in, no matter what time of year. With an open fire place, exquisite decor and luxurious carpets, our guests settled in for a mulled wine reception. The Castle Oaks catered easily to our civil ceremony before turning the room around for the meal, which was probably the best I have ever had at a wedding. Everyone complimented the quality of food and nobody could say they went hungry! I cannot recommend highly enough and look forward to visiting again!

"Amazing Day"

We had our wedding in December last year and the hotel could not have been more perfect. The decor and Christmas decorations made the place feel warm and friendly and I could not have picked a better display in the ballroom.
A huge thank you to Liam, Ciara and Kathryn, they were so easy to deal with and nothing was ever an issue for them. Liam is fantastic, he made us feel so at ease and we never had to worry about a single thing on the day and even the lead up was stress free due to the great organisation and professionalism.
More than 6 months later and the guests are still talking about what a great day they had and how lovely they found the hotel and the food.

We could not fault the Castle Oaks on anything and I would highly recommend them as a wedding location. Thanks again for making the day so special for us.

Castle Oaks staff were incredibly pleasant to deal with and on the day pulled out all the stops.
Key piece of advise is not to panic, the hotel will have everything under control and are very professional.

The food was excellent staff were very friendly and obliging, the venue was excellent set out very well, it had rained a little but the photos came out brilliant and that's down to Kenneth Baker who does some of the wedding photos including packages which the hotel does with competitive prices.The room we had was large and very comfy, breakfast yes breakfast we did make it was v good. we had booked the lols and they were exceptional so overall my daughter Kate and son inlaw Conor were very pleased and yes if i had the chance would stay there again Cathy

Spectacular wedding reception at Castleoaks on 3rd August 2013, The Staff were extremely friendly and so efficient and helpful. The food was first class, the grounds for photos were absolutely stunning, the accommodation was excellent, and the function hall looked so elegant! We celebrated our wedding at the Castle Oaks on 16 May 2014. It really was the best day of our lives. The staff are amazing, so helpful to us & our guests and ensured everything ran smoothly. Jamie, who we dealt with regarding the planning of the reception, is an absolute star. Kathryn & Orla were always very helpful regarding guest accommodation. The food was superb & of a very high standard. All of our guests commented on what an amazing day they had & the impeccable service they received from the hotel. Highly recommend it as a place to have your wedding reception or even if you just fancy a weekend break away. Thanks to Gobnait & her wonderful staff for making our wedding day truly memorable!

We had our wedding at the Castle Oaks last weekend and I have to say they did a fantastic job. Everyone was talking about the level of service they received. We had 200 at our wedding and it went like clockwork. Our guests told us that the quality of the food and it's presentation was the nicest they ever got at a wedding. The general manager, P?draig Nolan and the banqueting manager, Jamie Long could not do enough for us and our guests. Any wish I had was carried out to the last and their attention to detail was second to none. A huge thank you for contributing to what was undoubtedly the best day of our lives.

If you are considering the Castle Oaks House hotel, then go for it, you will not be disappointed! They did everything they could to make our day as wonderful as it could be.

Despite having a relatively small wedding (50 people) we were made to feel special from day one - something that set the Castle Oaks apart from the other hotels in the region. The staff at the Castle Oaks were patient with our hundred and one questions, and helped us to make informed decisions about the day.

The day itself was magical: the grounds are stunning, so the photos are second to none. The team at the hotel had set up everything the way we wanted it. The food was top class with plenty of it. Our foodie friends could not stop raving about how good everything tasted.?

Every single one of our guests has complimented the rooms since, from those who spent a week in their self-catering accommodation to the jet-setters who could only stay one night.?

So, all in all - a wonderful location, and one that we would highly recommend!

Many of our friends advised that it was the best wedding that they have ever attended and were very complementary of the hotel, the staff and the food. Many thanks need to go to all of the staff and especially Terri & Padraig for helping making the day a great success.

I got married in Castleconnell on 5th June 2010 and had my reception at the Castle Oaks. The location was perfect. Many of our guests booked into the hotel and walked to the church not having to worry about parking. The location is splendid, on the banks of the river Shannon with lovely mature trees and gardens which meant we did not have to travel elsewhere for the photographs. The hotel staff assisted with all the wedding planning, including but not limited to advising on bands, flowers, decor, etc and even sent us weekly updates on which of our guests had booked in. The reception room was decorated beautifully on the day, the staff couldn't have been more helpful and the service was excellent. All of our guests were delighted with the day and night (the residents bar was enjoyed by all and didn't close too early). The dinner, evening buffet and breakfast was delicious. We got many compliments from our guests but credit was due to the hotel staff - great job Padraig & all at the Castle Oaks. Thanks for making our day so special.

The staff was so courteous and considerate and all of the guests remarked on the quality and generous portions of food. Particular attention was paid to me as I do not eat wheat or dairy and I was asked at each course if the food was all right for me and if I would like anything else. Overall the experience of having my daughters wedding reception in Castleoaks Hotel was a joyful and happy one and our visitors from Wales enjoyed themselves very much.

Say thank you for everything you did to help organise our wedding celebrations in the Castleoaks, both leading up to and on 3rd January itself. Everyone was raving about the food, the service and the general atmosphere in the hotel. Many many thanks to you and everyone else there for making it so special.
