We recently celebrated our Wedding at The County Arms Hotel and from the get-go it did not disappoint. The staff were extremely friendly & ever so helpful and the food was unbelievable & plentiful. The hotel both inside & outside is exceptionally well maintained and the bedrooms & Bridal Suite were spotless. The two girls Dee & Niamh took care of everything for our small "Big Day" and left no stone unturned. No request/query
was too big or too small and they delivered every single time. We would have no hesitation in recommending The County Arms to anyone for any occasion big or small. A full 5 stars from us. Thank you.

The staff were outstanding. From our very first meeting with Dee I knew this was the hotel for us! She welcomed us with such warmth and she made us feel so relaxed- no question was ever considered silly or unimportant. Every single staff member was attentive, professional, and incredibly accommodating. Every detail was handled with care, and they made us feel relaxed and confident throughout the entire planning process. On the day itself, the team went above and beyond to ensure everything flowed seamlessly. Their warmth and friendliness added to the joy of our celebration, making us and our guests feel truly special.

The food was exceptional. The County Arms is known for its food so we had high expectations, but the it exceeded them in every way. Each dish was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. Our guests are still talking about how delicious the food was. The variety and quality were top-notch, and the kitchen team clearly put a lot of thought and care into every plate. The portions were generous and even the hungriest of our farming family were satisfied!

The service on the day was impeccable. Everything ran smoothly, from the moment we arrived to leaving the following day. The attention to detail was evident in every aspect of the event. The staff made sure that the entire day was stress-free for us, allowing us to enjoy every moment. We truly felt like we were in safe hands, and that made all the difference.

As for the hotel itself, it was both comfortable, clean and charming! I always wanted a country feel to our wedding and The County Arms mixes classic country style with modern elegance. Our bridal suite was like something out of a fairy tale and my only wish would have been that we could have stayed longer! Our guests also all commented on how spacious and comfortable their guest rooms were. In particular, the family rooms were of the highest standard with quirky areas for the kids to play in!

The County Arms Hotel will always hold a special place in our hearts. It was the perfect venue for our wedding, and we are so grateful to the entire team for making our day everything we dreamed it would be. If you’re considering this venue for your wedding, we cannot recommend it highly enough. The staff from the wedding co-ordinators to waiters and everyone was so helpful and nothing was ever an issue. We recently had our wedding at County Arms Hotel. The venue itself is beautiful, and was just the perfect location for us. The staff were amazing as well! We got married in the County Arms on the 15th March 2024. We had the most amazing day anyone could ask for. I've often visited the County Arms for food over the last number of years and when we for engaged I just knew it was a must to view! So when the wedding showcase was advertised myself and hubby to be went to pay a visit. We were greeted by Barry and he was a pure gent. He was so friendly and offered us tea and treats while we chatted all things weddings! I was currently 8 months pregnant at the time and he made everything so stress-free to book. He also checked in with us throughout our wedding day, both the day before and after to make sure all was running smoothly! Thank you Barry!
Also, we would like to say a huge big thank you to Dee our wedding coordinator. Every email was answered promptly and anything we asked wasn't a problem. She was an absolute angel and always so friendly and approachable. Dee made sure to meet us the following morning to ask how everything went etc. It was such a nice touch! Also a big thank you to Niamh who also looked after us following up our emails. Thank you so much girls!
We met Gary the day before the wedding when dropping over our wedding bits and he made us feel so welcome. On our wedding day he made sure everything was running smoothly, he was on the ball organising any last minute decisions we'd to make i.e. choosing songs for walking into the ballroom and making sure we got our canapés and also making sure all the guests got their food at the same time! Thank you so much Gary!
We thoroughly enjoyed our day at the County Arms and it felt so personal and everyone is still raving about how amazing the day was, how tasty the food was and the fabulous gardens and rooms etc! We knew from our menu tasting evening that the guests and ourselves were in for a treat with all the food!

We can't recommend County Arms Hotel Birr enough. Niamh and Dee were so helpful and accommodating and never tired of the endless questions and requests we had. The staff at the hotel were all so friendly and helpful too. The food was also amazing and our guests did not go hungry. The venue itself was beautiful and the gardens so picturesque. Would highly recommend as a wedding venue.

We had stayed in many hotels before our stay in the county arms and soon upon arrival we both just knew the county arms was the spot for us, the county arms were very accommodating as we had originally planned to marry on the 6/11/22 but had to postpone it to the following year both Dee and Niamh went above and beyond for myself and Hannah and no matter what we asked of them they went out of there way to help and accommodate us, I couldn't recommend the county arms Hotel enough and if you plan to get married look no further because you will be in trusted hands with both the ladies there. Myself and Joe cannot thank all the staff especially Dee and Niamh for all their help leading up and to and on the day of the wedding. We always got a response so quickly and efficiently. Everyone talked for days after about the food and hospitality of all the staff on our day. The gardens are just fantastic for pictures and we can't wait to get them back and see them. We got married on 2nd August 2023 in Ferbane and had our Wedding Reception at The County Arms afterwards. It was absolutely fabulous! We would not have changed a thing about the day or night. Most of the guests stayed for three nights at the hotel and it was excellent. The service and professionalism from The County Arms went above and beyond our expectations. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. A special shout out to Niamh, Dee, Michelle, Shannon, Claire, David, Liam, Aiden and Chloe, who were all fantastic but nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff.

The County Arms in Birr is an exceptional wedding venue. The staff, led by Niamh and Dee, are helpful, professional, and attentive, making the planning process a breeze. Despite planning our wedding from England, the team provided fantastic recommendations for local photographers, DJs, hairdressers, and other vendors. Their attention to detail and willingness to help with any query we had made the experience stress-free. The value for the price was fantastic, and we couldn't have been happier with the service we received from the whole team. We held our wedding at the County Arms Hotel in April and everyone had an amazing time. The hotel definitely had a homely feel and a lovely atmosphere for the time we spent there, which was down to the wonderful staff that went above and beyond for not just my husband and I, but every one of our guests. We booked the venue for two nights, and anything we needed to drop off before hand was not an issue, they even had a room for us to store our things. For the day after, we relaxed and enjoyed a private area for a barbecue which lead out to their gorgeous gardens, this give us the opportunity to set up some garden games for the kids (and the big kids) to keep entertained. Niamh and Dee are hands down superb at their job, they looked after us so well, they were so helpful and nothing was ever a problem to them. We have had so many compliments regarding the venue, food and the staff and lots looking to go back. The hotel is beautiful, lots of space and the gardens are just stunning to walk around. The hotel will always be a very special place to us, we cannot recommend it enough.

We are just coming back down the earth after our wedding in the County Arms on February 10th. We always knew we wanted to have our reception in the County Arms having attended a wedding there a few years ago, however it exceeded all our expectations. From the outset, when we booked our wedding in November 21 we found Dee and the team to be hugely responsive and attentive, regularly updating us with room bookings and answering all our queries. On the day of the wedding the staff were all so friendly and attentive which is something that a lot of our guests have commented on. There is a lovely family atmosphere in the hotel that is palpable.
The food in the County Arms is second to none. The queue for the midnight feast spoke for itself and guests couldn't believe the volume and quality of food. Its amazing value for money and we've never been in another hotel that offers as much variety when it comes to food.
The grounds of the hotel are also fabulous and we got lovely photos in the garden and drawing room that we'll treasure forever. We'd recommend any couple to book the County Arms for their wedding. It will make for the best day.

We celebrated our wedding in the County Arms back in December 2022 and we had the best day. A huge shout out and thanks to Dee, Barry, Dearbhla & Niamh who took such good care of us from the moment we booked our wedding right up until we left, they were not one bit obtrusive but always there if we needed them. The staff are amazing and incredibly hard working, they made sure that not just us but every one of our guests were looked after. It was truly an excellent and wonderful day, everything was layed out so well, the staff at the County Arms Hotel worked extremely hard to make it a perfect day, huge compliments to the chef the food was divine and plenty, wedding reception was beautiful, hotel was beautifully decorated, amazing backgrounds for beautiful photos to be taken. The County Arms were extremely helpful when planning our wedding day. Their list of suppliers was exceptional and definitely worth going with anyone from the list. We didn't have to organise anything extra for the hotel as the County Arms had everything in terms of decoration and table plan. This made for a very stress free run up to the wedding. They were very accommodating and helped out in any way they could. The food was fantastic. Our wedding guests are still talking about it.

We had our wedding reception in the County Arms on the 17th of September 2022. It was the only venue we viewed and from the moment we were shown around by the amazing wedding co-ordinator Dee we knew we didn't need to look any further. Nothing was a problem and Dee went above and beyond for us, from moment we met with her all our queries were answered immediately and never a problem for Dee or her team. The day itself was more than we could have asked for, the rooms, service and food was outstanding along with special little touchs and extras added by Dee completely unexpected but topped off our day. Our guests both young and older are still talking about the fantastic day we had and are still complementing the food. They have a fantastic menu to choose from and we cant fault the hotel or staff in any little way. We can't wait to return to the hotel for our first anniversary and we are planning on making it a yearly visit. We have just gotten our professional photos are they are truly amazing thanks to the beautiful grounds and gardens of the County Arms. We highly recommend Dee and the team at the County Arms and wish we could do the day all over again.

We had 255 guests, it was the best day ever. After being let down by another hotel 6 months before our wedding we contacted the County Arms. From that first email Dee was like someone we had known for years. So so helpful and accommodating. Once we drove down the drive way for our first meeting we couldn't believe that we hadnt visited here in the first place! Everything about the place is amazing! The staff,the food, the rooms,the gardens! Amazing!! People are still talking about it all a month later! The best decision we made for our wedding was choosing the County Arms! From the moment I drove up that driveway in the County Arms i knew I would be leaving with our wedding booked. Dee and the wedding team were fantastic to deal with nothing was to much to ask of them. The whole day and experience was amazing and ran like clock work. We had both our ceremony and reception in The County Arms what can we say amazing, the attention to detail the ceremony room the ballroom everything was exceptional. The walled garden is fantastic for pictures of your most memorable day. All the food was beautiful, all our guests are still talking about the carved meats and homemade sauce they were a big hit. We can't thank Dee and the team at the County Arms enough for making our day so memorable. We would highly recommend The County Arms and wish we could do it all over again.

We had an amazing experience planning our wedding with Dee, Niamh & Dearbhla in the County Arms.
From the run up to the wedding to the big days itself, there was nothing that was too much and nothing they didn't think of to make our day an amazing experience for our family and friends.
As expected, the food and service was the highlight and talking point of the day. It blew everyone away! Something I don't think any other venue can rival.
I would have absolutely no reservations in recommending the Count my Arms to any couple trying to decide where to host their big day. Your guests will LOVE it.

Where can I start, we booked our wedding in the county arms hotel in march 2018.
That's when we met the lovely dee Smith!
We absolutely loved the county arms hotel, we attended a wedding there and had said this will definitely be where we go!
And of course he popped the question and off we went!
When we went to view the hotel they were absolutely lovely to talk to, they even gave us some tasters to try there and then. The food is absolutely amazing, honestly the nicest food we have tasted, especially the duck springrolls , I never tasted anything like them! If you havent been to try the food you must go, even if not for a wedding just pop in and try the dinner it's fantastic.
We then got talking to dee and we just knew talking to her , we wanted it. The hotel itself is fantastic but my god meeting herself really topped it, you know when you meet someone and you just click straight off , well this was one of those moments. We couldnt wait to get moving.
We had booked with them to get married in august 2020. So the planning began the little chats every couple of months and catch ups checking in to hear all our plans. So a year before came and we got fully on board with planning BUT!! Of course that dreaded word.. covid .. hit with a bang.
We rescheduled for march 2021.. then april 2021.. then December 2021
Meanwhile inbetween having a new little baby just 8 weeks before , the 3rd and final wedding date .
Anyway dee was 100% while I was panicking, crying and running on literally no sleep what so ever she always called me with a positive attitude.
"Dont worry niamh I got this"
Always feeling absolutely brilliant after speaking to her. I must say only for dee , we both said , we definitely would have cancelled the wedding altogether because we just felt as if it was to much going on in such a short time. We went for our meal tasting when the baby was 4 weeks old and it was absolutely amazing with a complementary over night stay (which was well needed with a newborn at home) and we met dee the next morning to run through the day that we had planned.
(Us both still in a panic wondering, will we just cancle.)
She literally made everything for us that morning , we knew she was amazing but my god you wouldnt believe it, we came out with smiles from ear to ear thinking, this is fantastic , she literally had absolutely everything coverd from a to z. We literally had nothing to worry about.

So on the run up to wedding of course with having started to gather bits and Bob's since bloody 2018 , I rocked up with 2 large cases , 2 boxs and god knows what else so dee was delighted thinking wow she has her overnight case and all.. no no .. just a ball of decorations, from avengers toys, decs all random bits, she thought I was mad, but nonetheless, done an absolutely fantastic set up of a candy cart decorated in marvel theme, photo guest book, bathroom baskets , kids area , you would want to see what she done. It was amazing. I didnt know what anything in the case was, where it was going , but you can be sure dee found a spot for it.

I sat in bed while mikie done a night feed one night text dee at 5am, he just looked at me and said seriously are you actually emailing dee at 5am, but it was what was in my head at that time and I just knew well when I woke the next morning and looked at my phone all my questions would be answerd.

The county arms itself are amazing, they really go above and beyond for their couples.
They done all the decorating from the ceremony and the ball room and right down to giving meals to suit everyone. Michael's dad has Gall bladder issues and had to have no butter or fat throughout his dinner and they made sure to have him sorted and looked after. We had some celiacs and vegans also and they made sure to look after everyone. Michael's mam isnt one for a fancy dessert and they were willing to serve a bread and butter pudding for her. Just absolutely fantastic service.
All the staff are amazing and will really do absolutely anything you want or ask for.
I love some pornstar martinis and they made sure to go and buy some passion fruit so I could have my favourite coctail on the day.

I cannot express how amazing this woman truly is. She goes above on beyond for you and any couple that have her are very lucky! She will make your day absolutely amazing , she goes the extra mile to make it extra special.

From the moment we visited The County Arms to view it as a prospective venue for our wedding we were impressed. The wedding coordinator was very attentive and interested in how we saw how wedding day she listened to what we wanted. The hotel is very elegant and a beautiful venue for a wedding. Nothing was too much trouble any questions we had were answered from needing the name of a photographer to choosing our wedding menu. The care that was given to my elderly mum by Deirdre on the day of the wedding was amazing. Our wedding day was fabulous from start to finish. Deirdre had listened to what we wanted and delivered it in style. All our guests thoroughly enjoyed the day and talked about the food the service and the fabulous surroundings. Deirdre is an absolute star.

Our wedding was during covid 19 when nos were limited to 100. The county arms and specifically Deirdre could not have done anymore for us during the lead up to the big day and the day itself. Deirdre would call to advise of any new guidelines that were announced and what we could do to make sure the day was just as special as we had anticipated. The ball room was fabulous and it didn't seem like our nos were only 100. The food was unbelievable as always and the service was second to none. We couldn't recommend the county arms enough as a wedding venue & the help we received from

Dee, the wedding coordinatior, made the whole wedding experience such a smooth process and was always at the end of the phone to help us with any questions we might have! By far the best wedding band out there. They had everyone on the feet from the second song and it stayed like that until the very end. I have had many guests singing their praise and requesting their details. Shane is a real gentle man and its easy to see that he loves his job, he turely could not have done enough for us. Do not bother looking elsewhere, this is the band you need at your wedding, worth every penny and then some!

Deirdre and the staff made our dream wedding plans come true. From the day we booked back in 2016 until our wedding day in June they were constantly in touch and Deirdre especially helped me with ideas and putting aspects of the day I wanted into action. All of our guests thoroughly enjoyed the day and night. I always knew I wanted my wedding at the county arms and was astounded with how it turned out. 10/10 and I have and will recommend them to anyone looking for a hotel that gives 100% commitment.Their attention to detail really makes a brides dreams come true.

We had an amazing special day in the County Arms, Conor/Barry and team were amazing, always happy to help and welcome ideas.
The food was out of his world, our guests still talk about it, plenty of it and even seconds. We would recommend the lamb shank on the menu, it was the best decision we made and it was the biggest choice of the day!
The exterior and interior decor is beautifully designed, modern but still a lovely georgian feel about the building, especially the old part and bridal suites. You will be spoilt for choice.

The only downfall on the day was the mic at the speeches, it was very disturbed and took the young mc a good few minutes to come to my dads aid in the middle of his speech, it put him off. Our entrance song was down so low that we walked in with no music which was very disappointing as we had spent time editing and merging 2 songs together and had it timed to perfection.


One last thing was the amazing evening buffet, its pricey but its so worth it, what an amazing service and spread, our guests were wowed!!
Only downfall was that the left overs were all taken away, it would have been good to pop the pittas and nibbles out on tables when clearing as our guests got hungry later on after all the dancing!

If you want something modern yet traditional with amazingly tasty food, then check it out, you wont be disappointed.

Conor and Barry were extremely attentive to the bride and groom all day. Went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed.
The County Arms were brilliant in the run up to our wedding. I had one meeting with Barry for half an hour before the wedding and everything I asked for happened on the day. Grainne in the office was so patient with organising accommodation and confirming little details. Conor met me at the door and went into Birr town to get me something that I needed which was a major inconvenience for him but greatly appreciated by me. He also appeared with an ice cream during the afters food when I was too busy talking to get to the buffet. It's easy to forget that the County Arms have so many weddings going on every week and month because when you deal with them they are so attentive to your needs and eager to put in place what you want on your big day that you forget they are dealing with so many other couples at the same time. You always feel like you're their top priority.
I'm so happy we made the choice we did to go with the County Arms. We were so happy with how the day went.

Absolutely unbelievable! From first meeting to check out after our wedding everything was 5 star. I wouldn't know where to begin, all our guests were blown away with the food and service throughout the day. Staff are amazing and couldn't do enough for us.

The moment we drove into the county arms we knew it was the place for our wedding. we had visited 5 other venues before the county arms and none of them had the warm feel we got here. From our first visit to our last we were made feel at home. A wedding is a big investment and if i could do it over again i wouldn't change a thing. The county arms do everything so well from the food to the gardens to the staff to the ball room finishes. You could pick up the phone and ring Barry and Conor at anytime and anything they could do to help you they did. Both my self and Jessica were so happy with the day and it just makes it better when all our guest tell us how wonderful they found the venue too. hands down the best wedding venue in Ireland in my opinion

They say the best day of your life is the day you get married. For Noel & I this was the case. Noel & I got married in the County Arms Hotel, Birr on the 27th August 2016. We had quite a short period of time to organise our wedding, 6 months to be exact. I can't give enough praise to Barry & Conor Loughnane of the County Arms Hotel for all they wonderful help leading up the our Big Day and on the day of our Wedding.

I cannot recommend The County Arms enough. We had our wedding here on the 10th July 2015. Managers Connor and Barry are super relaxed and after meeting with them for our meal tasting I knew deep down once we got to their hotel they would take charge and have things run smoothly. And that they did. They are so professional in there work and accommodated our relaxed wedding. The staff is a credit to the hotel and are really the making of it from service staff to bar staff to residents bar staff. Day went out of their way to do anything not only for us the bride and groom, but also heard it back from some elderly guests who attended . The one thing I'll say tops this hotel in my book is : there was 3 wedding here the weekend of ours thurs /fri and Saturday but Connor and Barry make you feel like your the only wedding that's been dare for the last 3 months. The food is second to none. Thanks to the County Arms, all our friends are asking that we have a 1 year anniversary next year and do it all over again because it was so good. Little tip (go on Connor recommendations wen you first meet, he knows wat he's talking about and gave us the name of a great band that had the floor full from the first dance)

The food was out of this world, and plentyfull throughout the whole day, right through to the small hours! Each of the managers were so helpful and accommodating in every aspect, from planning, the day itself and even in the days after.
On the day I felt like a princess and that was purely down to the staff, they couldn't do enough for us.
Choosing the County Arms Hotel was the best decision we made for our big day and the memories that hotel now holds for me and my family will b cherished forever.

Every aspect of the planning right up to the day was was an enjoyable stress free experience. We were blessed to have our special day at THE most wonderful Hotel.

We had our wedding reception in The County Arms Hotel and have nothing but praise for the hotel, staff and facilities. From the first day we met with Conor and Barry to the big day itself, we were always welcomed and looked after so well.
