Brilliant from the moment we booked the Galway Bay for our wedding. On the day Stephen and his team went above and beyond to provide an excellent wedding reception for us. Food was brilliant, all the staff were friendly and very accommodating. Would definitely recommend Galway Bay for any couples looking for a stress free exceptional reception on their special day.

We live in the UK and wanted to have our wedding in Ireland. After speaking to many venues it was Victoria at The Galway Bay Hotel who sold it to us, and due to covid at the time restricting us going to see it in person we booked due to the friendly and easy going way the staff seemed. Throughout the whole experience, from start to finish the experience with the staff at the Galway bay was exceptional. The hotel itself is beautiful and unfortunately due to weather we couldn?t have the wedding outside like we wanted but the room was done up beautifully.
We went for the full unforgettable package and it was worth every penny. We would highly recommend it, it takes all the pressure off you finding someone to do the cake and flowers and thinking of all the other little details too.
We both want to say a huge thank you to Stephen and all the team for all your fantastic help and work for it all, we, as well as all of our guests were overjoyed with it all.

From the first day we walked into the Galway Bay the service we received was 110%. Stephen and Louise along with front and back of house staff excelled all we could ever expected. The venue has such a public yet private flow. The drink reception area was lovely as it was a private room overlooking galway bay. Then the down stairs ballroom with fairy light backdrop lead to a very late night of dancing and celebrating. We look forward to sharing many more memories at Galway Bay

We had our wedding day in the Galway Bay in March 2022 and we couldnt recommend the hotel highly enough. From our first contact in 2018 to the day we checked out after the wedding they couldn't do enough for us and were so flexible and accommodating to all of our requests (this was our 3rd wedding date due to covid). The staff were amazing throughout and the wedding manager Stephen couldnt do enough and made sure we had everything we needed for an amazing day. The hotel took care of every little detail leaving us to be able to relax both beforehand and on the day. We are still getting compliments about the meal which some said was better than many 5 star hotels they have stayed in before! If your looking for a wedding venue that puts the couple first and is set in an amazing location, on the sea and the fabulous gardens next door for photos then look no further. We've already booked to go back for our anniversary next year. Thank you to the whole team at the Galway Bay for making our wedding day perfect!

The Galway Bay Hotel were nothing but amazing from day one! Everyone we dealt with, especially our wedding coordinator Brendan, went above and beyond for us and they made it all so easy. The day itself was absolutely perfect and no request big or small was too much for them. It was our number 1 choice from day one and they really did deliver in every way possible. All the guests agreed and haven't stopped raving about the food, the service and the venue itself. It was the perfect day!

We choose the galway bay hotel after looking at other hotels in galway. The galway bay just has that authentic feel from it. Our day was magical. The staff management & there team just couldn't of done enough for us. From start to finish we felt like royalty. Galway Bay Hotel did an excellent job. Not the cheapest venue in Galway but definitely provide good service for the price. The views from the hotel are amazing. Overall I was pleased with the attentiveness of the staff.

We began planning our wedding from Australia in July 2015, and got married in July 2017. We knew we wanted the reception to be in Salthill and visited three hotels there, for us The Galway Bay Hotel was by far the best of the three. One of the packages they offered suited our needs perfectly.

We met with the wedding coordinator in the bright and spacious reception area and from day one, I knew that planning the wedding from Australia would be 'do-able.' I wanted reassurance that my emails would be answered in a timely manner as I would not be able to visit or call the hotel. They gave me this reassurance and certainly didn't let me down. No matter the query, it was always answered promptly which meant a lot to me as I was anxious about planning the wedding from the other side of the world.

I booked the wedding accommodation online with the reservation team who were always very helpful, not only with me but also with our relatives. I stayed in the hotel two nights before the wedding. I was delighted when I checked in to discover that I would be in the Honeymoon suite for the entire weekend, which made life a lot easier!

I met with Stephen Finn, the Senior Banqueting Manager when I arrived at the hotel. Stephen and his team couldn't do enough for us all weekend, from fulfilling small requests to making sure the whole day ran like clockwork in general.

The food was excellent and promptly served, everybody particularly enjoyed the theatrics when the main course was served!

We were treated like royalty all weekend at The Galway Bay Hotel. I am extremely glad we chose to have our wedding there and would highly recommend this Hotel to anyone getting married in the Galway area. I would particularly recommend it to anyone planning a wedding from abroad.

From the moment we walked in the door of the Galway bay hotel to view it as our venue (unannounced) we were greeted by the friendliest staff I have ever come across, we were made feel very welcome from the get go, Stephen the general manager in particular could not have done more for us if he tried, the food was fantastic and all of our guests commented on how good it was and how they were asked if they would like more of anything, the day flowed so well as they are truly professional at want they do in the Galway bay hotel, wish we could do it all again and if we could I wouldn't change a thing.

We recently got married in the Galway Bay Hotel and the day could not have gone better. The staff were amazing and knew exactly what they were doing, we didn't have to worry about a thing, they even packed up all our extra little decorations and brought them to our room for us at the end of the night! It is such a beautiful venue for a ceremony and reception, and the food was amazing!

If I could give more than 5/5 I would. We had two weddings in two different locations and the service at our Ireland wedding at the Galway Bay was amazing. At one point I had a several Manager's around me helping me to carry my dress, veil and champagne. They couldn't have taken better care of us and we didn't have to worry about a thing even given the fact that we organised it all by email from abroad. The food was to die for and Stephen, the manager of our wedding went above and beyond and all of our expectations were exceeded by the wedding venue. If I could do it all over again, I would be right back to the Galway Bay and wouldn't change a thing. Fingers crossed for future christening celebrations at the Galway Bay! :)

The whole experience from our very first viewing to the end of our wedding day was absolutely perfect.

We planned our wedding from abroad. The staff could not have been more helpful. Our every wish was granted. The hotel was beautifully decorated and had a very romantic ambience. We enjoyed every second of our big day.

I cannot recommend this hotel any more. The staff and Orla my duty manager were amazing. No task was too much. The day went amazingly smooth all planned to perfection with the hotels help. The food was amazing and all the guests commented on it. It was an amazing day.

We would highly recommend the Galway Bay Hotel as a wedding venue. They really went above and beyond to do anything they could to make sure that our day was perfect. Staff there treated us and our guests like royalty for the whole weekend, and our guests still talk about the fantastic service provided by the friendly staff. We spent months researching and visiting venues before deciding on the Galway Bay, and most certainly made the right decision.

We got married in The Galway Bay Hotel in April 2014 and I could not recommend it more.
We are living in Australia and they made it very easy organising from overseas. We only travelled back to Ireland 2 weeks before the big day but all the final organisation was still stress free with the help of the staff.
Many of our guests stayed 3 nights and the hotel went above and beyond from the moment we arrived till we left. everyone commented on how great the food was and no one was left hungry as the staff went around offering seconds.
on our next visit back to Ireland we are planning to return for a weekend stay!

Padraic and I got married in the Galway Bay Hotel on the 30th of August 2013. The professionalism and quality of all staff members was outstanding. At our initial meeting we met with Siobhan (Wedding Co-ordinator) and she guided us through our options in a very professional manner. All subsequent communication via email and meetings were carried out in such a way to allow space for questions and ideas to flow. All of our queries were dealt with promptly and the level of communication between the couple and the hotel is exceptional. We had a lot of personal decorations for the ceremony room and this was accommodated on every level. John made the room available the evening before and the evening staff helped with the logistics in the room. They were on hand at any stage for problem solving or if we had any queries. Siobhan and her team decorated the reception room on the morning of the wedding exactly how we had decided on during our meetings.
Declan was our duty manager on our wedding day and I cannot praise him enough. At every stage he was courteous, caring and has an unbelievable eye for detail. He even obliged us in our photographs when we needed an extra person!
We received so many comments from our guests on the high quality and presentation of the food. Everything ran like clockwork during the meal with a huge level of professionalism from everyone working on the catering team.
There was a genuine feeling felt by Padraic, myself and our guests that every level of the team in the hotel were working with us and it made the day absolutely memorable.

We were married in Knocknacarra Church in August and had our reception in the Galway Bay Hotel. I would like to express our appreciation for the truly exceptional service we received from your wonderful staff. From the very moment we decided on your hotel as the venue for our reception, we knew we had made the right decision. Siobhain was just superb, always willing to help, to meet me and to offer advice. Nothing was a problem and she really helped keep me (relatively!) calm in the run-up to the big day.
Declan was equally excellent, so professional and so helpful. On the day itself, both Declan and Brian looked after us and made sure that everything ran smoothly.
The meal was exceptional and so many of our guests commented on the quality of the food. Bridie was fabulous, as was all of your catering staff.
I cannot thank you enough for making our wedding day so special and I would recommend your hotel to everyone. Richard is from Dublin and I am from Tipperary originally, so many of our guests, particularly family members, stayed in the hotel for the weekend. Everyone was so, so impressed.

I have placed this as part of our overall wedding review on the forum but just thought I would put it hear as well;
I would just like to convey my sincerest thanks to all the staff at the Galway Bay Hotel for the wonderful experience they provided to us and our guests at our wedding this past July. I could not recommend them highly enough; they were first class in everything they did for us. If I was to use one word to describe the Galway Bay it would be Professional, with a capital P! They were fantastic.
I would especially like to thank the manager Dan Murphy, our wedding liaison John Frazier and our duty manager on the day Diarmuid O'Conghaile and his colleague Valerie, who were both so professional and a pleasure to deal with. I would also like to give a special thank you to Willie Madden who was a tremendous help to us on the day after the wedding, and also to Victoria and Serge, who were a great help in the days leading up to the wedding.
We, as is becoming more common, returned home from Australia to get married, which meant that all the pre-planning had to be done through email and through various family members. As difficult as this was for us, I am sure it was not ideal for the Galway Bay personnel either, however the staff were extremely accommodating and made the whole process as stress free as possible. As we were only arriving in to Ireland two weeks before the wedding they allowed us to hold off on a lot of the final decisions until we could actually sit down with them face to face.

They brought us up for a tasting just ten days before the wedding which, as silly as it sounds, was a big deal for my wife as she had missed out on a lot of the traditional planning tasks due to us being on the far side of the world. Not able to decide between a number of delicious choices, we asked the hotel for their recommendations as to what they were most confident with, given the numbers, fresh produce at the time etc., and it was the best choice we possibly could have made. The food on the day was fantastic, different than your usual wedding fair, and we received compliments throughout the night and following days from our guests.
It was a large wedding, 300 plus, yet everything went like clockwork, not one hiccup, or if there was we certainly weren't made aware of it. We were absolutely blessed with the weather, and it really brought out what a stunning location the hotel is in. The patio deck, with the sun shining and the sea breeze, it really doesn't get any better than that. Even our guests from Australia were blown away.
As impressive as the staff were on the wedding day, I dare say they were even more impressive on the following day. We had talked with them in the week prior to the wedding about having some sort of food available on the day after the wedding as a number of our family members and friends had planned to stay on in Galway for a second night. They recommended a BBQ which we decided to go with, even though we couldn't give them final numbers until that day.
The numbers fluctuated on the morning after the wedding from 60 to the final figure of 120, yet the staff couldn?t have been more accommodating and it went off without a hitch. They set up the BBQ in the sunshine on the patio deck and served a beautiful meal, with plenty of food for everyone. Admittedly, the fabulous weather played a large part in the success of the BBQ, but we got so many compliments from our family and friends afterwards, it was the perfect way to round off a great weekend.
I really cannot recommend this venue highly enough, and my wife and I cannot wait to go back when we are next home, to once again convey our thanks and reminisce on the greatest weekend of our lives.

My Husband and I got married June last year and i just wanted to share our wonderful experience with you. Our wedding was fantastic and we would not have done anything different. Our reception was held in The Galway Bay Hotel, Salthill and in my opinion it is the only place to have your wedding reception. From the very first time we walked into The Galway Bay in April 2008 we were treated so so well and this was to continue right up to our wedding day. From day one the whole wedding team especially Victoria and John were brilliant. Anything at all they could do they did it and even more. On the day of our wedding absolutly everything was first class. The food, service everything was outstanding. Most of our guests commented on the food and service how great it was. We have been to a couple of weddings there since and everything was fantastic also. If future couples are thinking hotels in Galway definetly consider The Galway Bay as i could not praise them highly enough.
