We got married in the River Court in July 2023 and can?t thank the hotel enough for making our special day truly magical. The staff were fantastic from the first day we went to visit right through to our wedding day, so professional, friendly and welcoming. We feel like we?ve known Sharon, our Wedding Coordinator for years as she was by our side and was an amazing support to us throughout our journey. She took everything in her stride, kept us calm and gave us plenty of laughs along the way. Our ceremony, arrivals and reception all took place with the picturesque Kilkenny Castle as the backdrop for our celebration. All the staff were excellent on the day with Anthony and Eric going above and beyond to make sure the day ran seamless so we could have a magical experience. Our meal was delicious, the service was excellent and we got so many compliments from our guests on the quality of the food and the efficiency of the staff. The little touches and surprises the hotel provided made the day extra special. The River Court will forever hold a special place in our hearts and we would recommend the Hotel without hesitation to any couple looking for a fantastic wedding venue. The location is fabulous but the way you are treated goes way beyond what any location can offer.

We had our wedding at the River Court Hotel on the 19th of May and it's difficult to express how grateful we are to the management and staff of the hotel. They were all absolutely brilliant and nothing was too much trouble for them. We were able to have our ceremony out on the beautiful terrace overlooked by Kilkenny Castle just as we had hoped for. The staff looked after us so well and guided us through the day. The food was absolutely delicious and we got many compliments from our guests (particularly in relation to the feather blade beef!) and the servers were efficient and polite but also good fun and interacted well with our guests. I cannot recommend the River Court Hotel enough. Our day was just magical, everything we wished for and more. Grace & Dermot xxx

Overall it was a good day,but there were a few ?misunderstandings ?.first thing I was disappointed with were the flower arrangements that were included in the offer and they were not up to any standards,I could?ve done better myself by buying the flowers in Lidl .if I would?ve known I would?ve paid someone to make them but I trusted them that they would be decent,they were not.then ,another thing I found strange was that for the drinks reception I had two girls singing live music,but they installed them in the residents bar which was beside the room where was the reception,so they were basically singing for the Customers of the hotel ,not for my guests.there were a few more missunderstandings (Like my things being moved in a different room in the hotel in the middle of the wedding).one good thing was the food,everyone liked the food,hats down to the chef?s,another thing that I didn?t expect or liked was the fact that I chose instead of the dessert a cheese plater that most of the guests didn?t get to touch,they were brought and taken very fast , I thought they would be left on the tables for guests to pick at ,but no .Another good thing was that they overcharged us by mistake when we did the checkout,but next day when my husband went to pick up the cake that was left and my bouquet,they gave him the money back ,and we thank them for that.it?s a beautiful location,and they could do a better job just paying more attention to details.

From the general manager to the even planner and all the staff that we met while planning our big day, they could not have done more for us and made our day so special.

We got married at The River Court Hotel in July 2022, hosting both our ceremony and reception at the hotel. Our day was amazing and the wedding team at the River Court went above and beyond for us - from our first meeting to the big day itself.
Venue:
We held our ceremony and reception at the River Court Hotel. It was the perfect venue for our ceremony, the room was filled with light and there is an excellent view of the castle. The River Court provided a PA system and some decor for the ceremony. They made us feel very calm in what is a nervous moment. They were very welcoming to our guests. They put out all of our decorations, programmes and anything else we needed for the ceremony. We had 140 guests and it was a perfect sized room for this. We have gotten our wedding photos and they all look beautiful in this room.
Location:
The hotel is in a great location. It has a great view of Kilkenny Castle which was perfect for photographs with friends and family from the hotel terrace. We got our wedding photos in the castle grounds which was just a 5 minute walk from the hotel. It was easy for people out of town to access the hotel and the hotel had loads of parking. Our guests that stayed at the hotel remarked that the hotel rooms were beautiful. The terrace outside the ballroom was reserved for our guests all day and it was lit up at night with festoon lights.
Support:
The staff went above and beyond for us. They put in place a lot of decor that we had brought ourselves and did a great job of setting that up on the morning of the wedding. The planning process with the wedding team was exceptional. They were very easy to contact and were very helpful and accommodating. On the day they were very helpful and made everything seamless. We did not worry about anything. The staff serving the food were extremely good and very friendly. This was noted by lots of our guests.
Decor:
The hotel itself is beautiful. As mentioned before we brought a lot of our own decor which they had no problem with. They put it out on the morning and stored it safely for us to collect after the wedding. There were also lovely flowers included in our package for each table and a top table arrangement.
Drinks Reception:
The drinks reception was held on the terrace. We got fantastic weather for our day so it was the perfect location. As part of our package, we had delicious canap?s, cocktails and prosecco.
Food:
The food was excellent which was something we heard a lot from our guests. Picking the menu was very easy and they made the small changes that we asked for. There was plenty of food, in particular lots of potatoes and vegetables. They provided oat milk and vegetarian options that were excellent. Our vegetarian guests noted their meals were exceptional. The wine as part of our package was very good and very plentiful.
Party:
The room was quickly transformed from the meal to the evening reception. The bar in the room was very quick at serving people and the staff there were very friendly as well. The doors to the terrace opened off the room so our guests were never far away, it felt like the same space. There was loads of food served with the cake in the evening. Hot food, tea and coffee and sandwiches that were all delicious. The bar extension was to 1:30 and guests could go to the residents' bar after. The room wasn?t too big or small for our guests who numbered about 160 with evening guests. The dancefloor was also a great size.

The River Court has an amazing bridal suite which has a huge balcony and seating area. It felt so spacious and luxurious. The balcony overlooked the castle which is lit up at night. The staff has placed a bottle of prosecco and chocolates in the room for us to enjoy. A wonderful surprise after the wedding was that the staff had placed a platter of evening food in our room. Which we really appreciated as we were hungry after the long day. There was also a jacuzzi bath in the bathroom which was lovely. We were very sad to check out of such a beautiful room.
Summary:
We would 100% recommend the River Court Hotel for anyone getting married. The venue and staff surpassed our expectations. It is a unique location in the heart of Kilkenny City that was perfect for our day. The hotel also really impressed our guests. We wouldn?t change a thing about our wedding day.

My partner and I had our special day in River Court on 2nd July 2022. We got a great date and we were very happy with the package value. We both stayed in the hotel with our bridal party the night before and the hotel staff were very patient with us and multiple room arrangement changes. The rooms were nice and comfortable. The only thing I have to say about the room that my bridal party stayed in (which is also the room we got ready in the morning of the wedding) it was very warm outside, there was no air conditioning in the room and the windows didn't open so it got very warm very quickly during the morning preparations, made it a little uncomfortable doing our makeup and getting dressed.
The day itself went very smoothly and that's down to the staff working on the day that made sure that everyone was happy. The food was delicious and there were no delays in food being brought out.
I rated responsiveness lower than the other categories because I found I had to ring a lot leading up to the wedding to get answers, and everytime I rang there was either nobody answering or there was a new person that was not able to help so I had to wait for callbacks which sometimes took several days, that added unnecessary stress. In saying that, it could have been due to staff shortages after the pandemic so we were trying to be understanding. This wouldn't change our decision to get married there again.

Overall, if you're planning a wedding on a specific budget, The River Court Hotel is a good option as their prices are very reasonable. We had a lovely wedding, however there were certain aspects of the experience that we were disappointed with.
There seemed to be little communication between staff about what was going on and there was no representative from the wedding team available on arrival the day before, or on the morning of the wedding. I (the bride) had to micro manage parts of the ceremony prep, even though I had left instructions of how I wanted the ceremony to look, well in advance of the day.
I had also said that the extra rooms booked for my parents and the bridal party were to be taken care of in our final bill, but despite this, they were all asked for credit cards on arrival. That was a bit embarrassing!
There were a few more instances of staff being disorganised and we were a bit disappointed that there was no real sense of occasion about it being our wedding. On arrival and check in, we were just processed the same as everyone else with no particular warm welcome. It's not like we expected a parade in our honour or anything, just to be made to feel a bit special on our day.
Staff issues aside, The River Court is in a lovely location in the city centre. All the food was delicious and all our guests said they enjoyed that part of the day.

We booked our wedding with the Kilkenny Rivercourt Hotel prepandemic and we were very happy with out choice. When the pandemic kicked in and everything was falling apart wedding wise, the Kilkenny Rivercourt stepped right up! The communication was amazing, we moved dates, we moved wedding size, nothing was ever a problem, they were so reassuring the whole way through the planning. Marcella and Iona were so lovely to talk with, they were so professional but also like talking to friends so I always felt comfortable in discussing things with them. When it came to the day itself, one word - WOW! The service, the food, the staff, the drinks, the rooms, the ballroom - all absolutely amazing!! Our guests were all blown away as were we! We would recommend them a million times over and are looking forward to going back soon for a visit.

The grounds of the rivercourt are fabulous and it looks upon the river and up to Kilkenny castle which really completed our day for us.
It was our perfect venue and we couldn?t fault it!

We would like to thank the River court Hotel and it's wonderful team, especially Iona who co-ordinated our wedding and Natalia who looked after our wedding reception on the day. They provided a fantastic service to us from the moment we enquired about having our wedding in their hotel, our wedding was organised within three months and that was possible because of the professionalism, efficiency,friendliness and excellent co-ordination from Iona. The Rivercourt was a dream to deal with nothing was too much trouble and it was all about want we wanted on our day and they delivered that 100% on our wedding day. All the staff in the hotel were extremely professional, the food was gorgeous and the service was excellent. The setting was magical with the castle lit up at night looking into the ballroom. All of our guest commented on the service, food and the hotel. Our bridal suite was beautifully with an amazing view of the castle. It really was the perfect venue for our wedding and an excellent service was provided. We really were looked after so well and made to feel so special on our special day. I would encourage any couple looking for a wedding venue to strongly consider having their wedding in the Rivercourt hotel.

We had our wedding at the rivercourt hotel on the 7th of December. From the time we booked our wedding they were absolutely fantastic Marcella the wedding coordinator was so helpful and Catherine in reservations was fantastic! The weekend of our wedding we cannot fault one member of staff from the time we arrived everyone was so helpful the night porter was so kind and at 4 o?clock in the morning as we headed to bed after our fantastic wedding day he asked what time we wanted our breakfast delivered at. The wedding day ran perfectly absolutely nothing went wrong the food was beautiful all our guests complimented the hotel the food and staff. Thank you for an amazing weekend! Laura & Alan Sower xxx

We have giving 5 stars on every option and if we could give more we would. Kilkenny Rivercourt team made our day prefect from the first time we saw this hotel we knew it was for us.
Marcella and her team are extremely professional and any queries or worries were always answered without hesitation. As the day approached we were in contact with Marcella who was always on the other end of the phone to reassure us. On the day itself the service was second to none. Every table was serve at a quick speed which meant NO table was waiting on food which was a big thing for us after being to weddings were tables near back might not have being served by time other tables were ready for mains. Natalia and Dee on the day ensured everything went smoothly and we or our guests couldn't fault anything. Location wise it is the perfect location and if anyone is thinking of Kilkenny as a place they would like to have there big day then look no further the Kilkenny Rivercourt. Food was amazing and there was no shortages all of our guest have complimented the food and the service. If we could do it all again there isn't 1 thing we would change about our venue

Wow! We cannot fault the Rivercourt. We were married on a grey, miserable Sunday in September and I thought if we couldn?t get married outside I?d be upset but everything was perfect. The staff couldn?t do enough for us from the moment we arrived the day before to the day we left. There was a wedding on the day before ours but you wouldn?t have guessed with the service we received. A special mention for Marcella, she helped us with every query we had and is such a lovely person to deal with. Natalia on the day made us feel so calm, I?m sure she wasn?t!! Brian & Catherine too were so helpful, nothing was too much trouble. I wouldn?t hesitate to recommend the Rivercourt to couples for their wedding, we?re from Dublin too, it?s just over an hour away. We haven?t heard one negative thing about the day.

We had our wedding in The Rivercourt Hotel in September and loved every minute of it. We booked our wedding with the hotel early 2018 and from the booking up to the wedding day the hotel helped us with so many parts of our planning.
Anytime we had a question Marcella was there to help us out and offer advice, and once we had to start confirming the finer details closer to the day Marcella was again a huge help.
Everything we asked for was looked after and the service we received from the hotel on the day was fantastic.
Natalia was absolutely brilliant too. She put us completely at ease from the minute we arrived at the hotel, she ensured the day ran smoothly and did everything she possibly could to look after us and our guests. We had been concerned about some of time constraints on the day but Natalia kept us updated on everything, put us at ease and ensured we had the time we needed. We were so thankful for her on the day and really appreciate everything she did for us.

We would 100% recommend The Rivercourt Hotel to anyone planning a wedding, it was the perfect setting for our day and the staff there really looked after us. So many of our guests have commented how much they loved the hotel and everything they offered on the day.

We were so lucky to be able to have our wedding in this beautiful place. On the nice day there is no better place for wedding in Kilkenny and probably not many in Ireland!
From the very beginning we felt massive support from RC event team. No task was to big, no question was left an answered, we were receiving phone calls from Sinead or Marcela asking about our preparations which was a lovely touch and made us feel a little bit more special????
We loved everything about the day, food was great, service was stunning, and just an option of sitting out looking at the castle was more than enough to confirm we made the best choice!
Special thanks to Sinead, as an unexperienced wedding planners we had no idea where to start, what to do next, what's very important, what a bit less, but Sinead made everything so easy for us that organising this wedding was a piece of cake!
I would highly recommend this venue to every couple thinking about the wedding in this beautiful city.

We had our wedding reception in the Kilkenny Rivercourt Hotel in July. Everything was fabulous - the food, drink, staff, rooms and the venue itself. The terrace was a great location for our drinks reception and the Marshall suite was beautiful overlooking the castle. We also had a BBQ on the terrace the day after our wedding for close family and friends and it went smoothly. We had our own private area and there was a great selection of food.
As a bride you can be a bit nervous about everything running smoothly but Catherine and Dee made sure everything went smoothly on the day. We dealt with Marcella and Iona in the run up to the wedding and both were easy to deal with and dedicated to their jobs. We wanted to put our own personality into the wedding and there was no hassle with our requests.

Staff is so friendly and so helpful from start to finished. Venue is amazing and bridal suite is fabulous too. Got feel like a PRINCESS down there would love to do it all over again dow n there. I got married in the rivercourt hotel in june I found rivercourt staff from start to finish a pleasure to deal with. So helpful at all times and on the day went above and beyond to ensure we had the perfect day. We had our ceremony there also which was amazing . The food was exceptional and feedback from guests suggested that they thought so too. The bridal suite is exquisite with champagne breakfast to our room . The view of that castle is amazing to wake up to . I could not fault a thing about our day and alot of this is down to an excellent venue which we certainly had.

The staff at the RiverCourt hotel made our wedding day from start to finish they helped us plan and organise in the most stress free way possible. Any request that was made to them during the whole process was greeted with ?thats absolutely no problem we will take care of that?They provided amazing customer service to both me and my husband and our guests. The whole day ran so smooth all thanks to them . The food was amazing we had all our guests commenting on the quality of the food and wine and how there was plenty of it . The location of the hotel is amazing with all the doors opening onto the terrace so all our guests could be together the whole night seamlessly. I cannot thank the staff enough for making our day a true fairytale wedding and a day we will never forget .

I couldn't rate the Rivercourt hotel higher. The venue is beautiful, the food was brilliant, but above all, the staff were AMAZING. The one thing we kept hearing back from our guests was that the staff were so friendly, helpful and accommodating. Nothing was too small or too big, and they went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and ensure we had the best day of our lives.

We had our wedding in the Kilkenny Rivercourt Hotel last month and it was amazing. We cannot fault anything . From the time we booked our wedding we were looked after so well and staff went above and beyond to make our day so special. All The staff were so friendly, rooms are lovely and the food was fabulous, everyone commented on having such a great time at the wedding. We had our wedding in the Kilkenny Rivercourt Hotel in September and it was a truly amazing experience. From the time we booked our wedding we were looked after so well all the staff were so friendly and helpful the wedding team were always just an email or phone call away even the morning of the wedding when i had to change a table around it wasn't an issue. The reception room was spacious but intimate and the food was fabulous our guests are still talking about how good the meal was. Everyone commented on having such a great time at the wedding. The Rivercourt is a great location especially with the breath taking backdrop of kilkenny castle for photos. I would defenitely recommend to anyone getting married to check out this venue. From the moment we arrived in the Rivercourt Hotel we knew it was the Weddingv Venue for us. From the picturesque backdrop of Kilkenny Castle to the beautiful decor of the ballroom it was really special. Our Wedding Coordinator Marcella was great, very professional and always on the other end of the phone to answer any questions we had. The Wedding Day itself from start to finish was the best day of our lives. The minute we arrived at the hotel Dee met us outside with our drinks and a warm welcome. From the pre recetion to the main dinner the food was amazing and plenty of it. We are still getting complements on how beutiful the food was. The staff at reception, barmen and women, waiters and waitresses, accomodation and all Management were very professional but most importantly were very polite and friendly. We would like to thank Marcella and GM Catherine for such a wonderful day and keep up the great work.

We had our ceremony and reception at the Rivercourt Hotel in Kilkenny in August of this year and we had a fabulous day. The ceremony outside on the terrace was beautiful and everything ran like clockwork under Nathalya?s watchful eye. The food at the reception was delicious - we had the Asian Chicken/Tofu salad for starters and a choice of Roast Cauliflower and Goats Cheese, Sea Bream and Prawns or Roast Chicken for mains and the assiette for dessert. Throughout the day the service was exceptional and the next day we had a BBQ on the terrace which was a lovely way to relax with some of the guests who were staying around. We live in the UK so we organised the wedding mostly via email and the hotel staff from the events team to the reception and bar staff were very helpful and friendly

This was the first hotel i looked at and From the min I walk threw the doors I knew it was where I wanted to get married and have my reception. I didn't look at any other hotel I whent back and put our deposit straight away. The staff are brilliant so helpful and friendly. The set up is amazing and the work they put in to make sure your day goes smoothly is unbelievable, from start to finish they were brilliant I would highly highly recommend. And the bridle suit is really something else. Food is amazing.

I had my wedding in July at the Rivercourt. Staff are amazing and did everything to make our day special. Food was AMAZING. Feedback was excellent from the guests. I was initially worried, as the 1st tasting wasn't up to par. But there was a new chef who was reinventing the menu, and at the second tasting I got a taste of the new menu and was blown away. The food is Michelin quality! There were a few mishaps: I asked for a stage for the band provided by the hotel and I never got one. The final bill I got on the next day of the wedding was higher than what it should've been, but that was sorted too. All in all, I would recommend the Rivercourt,price, food and staff are superb. Bridal suite is gorgeous too!

We had our ceremony and reception in the Rivercourt hotel and we couldn't fault any part of it. From the time we went to our first wedding fair before we had even decided on our venue, until our day they couldn't have been nicer. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. Darragh was our co-ordinator and he was amazing! Everytime I contacted Darragh he was so quick to respond he made sure everything was how we wanted it and always touched base with us throughout the year of planning and even the following morning to make sure we were happy with everything. All our guests loved the hotel it's an amazing setting, rooms are gorgeous and food was fab.
