Martinstown House is a beautiful country house built in the 1830s available for wedding celebrations and ceremonies on an exclusive basis. Your guests will have total privacy in 140 acres of private park and farm lands, with mature woods and a stunning Walled Garden. The Booth family share the property with flocks of sheep, cattle, two friendly donkeys and free range chickens who kindly donate their eggs to the kitchen. There are seven elegant and comfortable bedrooms in the main house, and a further three bedrooms in the Stone Yard. We also have a glamping village onsite with 10 bell tents, 5 stable rooms, and a shepherd's hut.

We take huge pride in our food at Martinstown House. We are so lucky to have so many local suppliers for our produce and meat. Most of our herbs come from our own Walled Garden, and fish is fresh from the market in Howth. Our chef has trained in the Ballymaloe Cookery School in Cork, Rick Stein's in Padstow, and in Goa, India.

Your beautiful reception can take place in any number of locations. The most popular site is on our front lawn with our new container bar, The Sipping Container, which is sheltered from the elements with a natural stretch tent connected to bog oak logs that are thousands of years old. The vintage-style Indian marquee nestled in the Walled Garden can seat 240+. We are also happy to be able to lend you our vintage 1966 VW Campervan which can be used on site however you wish. Inside the house, our stunning Drawing Room can accommodate parties of up to 50 in elegant and intimate surroundings.

Ceremony Spaces

Martinstown House is licensed by the HSE to hold civil ceremonies and are delighted to host alternative weddings. We have beautiful settings in both the Walled Garden and in the Woodlands ceremony area surrounding the house. This beautiful space created out of the ruins of the original greenhouse, it has a seating capacity of 330, all under the watchful eye of a vast 130 feet tall Californian Coastal Redwood tree. The building is constructed out of reclaimed and repurposed materials, the glass chandelier came out of a big house in Co West Meath, the tin roof is off an Army building on the Curragh that was burnt down in the 1950's. It is fully fitted out for ceremonies with it's own PA system. We have had great success with Humanist, Spiritualist, and Interfaith ceremonies. There are a number of local country churches close by of all denominations, each with their own character and settings.

Your wedding at Martinstown House is made up of thousands of individual moments, the cumulation of a thousand decisions, big and small. The day is always a blur of memories, of dancing, of smiles, of hugs, of old friends and new family, but it is the tiny moments that you will remember most clearly. Catching someone's eye at just the right moment of the speech and the tears of silent laughter that ensue. Holding your partner's hand as you walk up together for the first dance. Sitting down next to your best friend and breathing a second whilst the whole day washes over you. The warmth of the fires, the pleasure of delicious food. At Martinstown House we strive to create those moments.

The Wedding Dressed Dinner

Couples who celebrate their wedding with us will also be invited back for The Wedding Dressed Dinner, a dinner party for couples to don their suits and wedding dresses once again! Cocktails in the Drawing Room, photos on the grounds, and pints around the fire make for a gorgeous evening.

We can't thank Edward, Blathnaid and the team at Martinstown enough for their hospitality, warmth, and for being so accommodating and helpful throughout the whole process. The first time we made our way up the drive we knew Martinstown was the venue for us and when we saw the ceremony area there was no going back! All of our guests commented on how beautiful and unique the grounds were, and how delicious the food was.
We were so delighted to have our wedding at this stunning venue in April and we felt so relaxed knowing the day was in such capable hands! No request was too big or small, and by the time the day came around it felt like we had known Edward and Blathnaid for years. We couldn't recommend them enough, everything was perfect.

We are so happy that we found Martinstown House for our wedding weekend. We really wanted to get married outside and their outdoor ceremony area made this possible in any weather, it has a really beautiful and wild feel to it. The rest of the grounds are also stunning and so is the old house. The staff were all great and Blathnaid, Jessica and Edward were really kind and helpful in helping us plan our big day. The food was also really yummy! All of our guests loved the venue and commented on how unique and special it was.

We can't express how fantastic this venue is, they went above and beyond for us. Edward and Blathnaid were wonderful, friendly and accommodating. Blathnaid especially was very good at putting out fires, like when our bridal party were running behind. The food, our guests still rave about it, Andrew really out did himself, (such a nice guy, you can't help but love him) and as for the venue, believe us when we say the pictures don't do it justice. We've had friends who attended, who have also said they would consider having their wedding vow renewals there as the venue is so beautiful. Tony and the staff of the bar and food service were lovely, and attentive. They were also very good with our guests who had dietary requirements, they didn't make it seem like it was anything out of the ordinary (my sister who's a vegetarian loved her meal, I've never seen her eat so much!). It was all round a brilliant experience, and they made it a day we will never forget!

From the very first visit to Martinstown House we fell in love with the venue, it was everything we wanted. Added bonus was how amazing the staff at Martinstown House are. They have created a very chilled, personable and friendly service. Our questions were always answered, and nothing seemed an impossible ask. They are fantastic at catering to you and what you want each aspect of your day to be.
The food at Martinstown House is absolutely delicious and plentiful. At your tasting you have plenty of options to choose from. We chose to have a served starter and self serve main, which our guests really enjoyed.
Martinstown House is a beautiful setting. With the natural beauty in the woods, the secret gardens and large lawn area, you feel that secluded to enjoy every minute.
Our guests loved the option to stay in the glamping Yurts, the stables and the shedpards hut, with plenty of our guests commenting that it added to the uniqueness of Martinstown House.
For us we wish we could go back and do it all over again! We had no worries on the day, as we knew that everyone at Martinstown House had it all covered.

We had our wedding at Martinstown House on Friday 16th June this year. All I can say is it was genuinely the best day we could have ever hoped for. From the very first visit Ed, Jennifer and the team have been nothing but amazing helping us plan our special day. Martinstown House is the most perfect unique venue. We had our ceremony on site and it is the most beautiful setting.
We stayed over the night before our wedding to allow us time to prepare the venue and had an amazing dinner prepared by the team. All of the food was delicious and every one of the bridal party spoke so highly about how nice and relaxing the venue was that night.
Throughout the day Ed, Jennifer and the team were so attentive and helped with anything and everything we needed. All of the photographers commented on how lovely they were on arrival and helpful in assisting them with anything they needed.
We received loads of compliments on how stunning the venue is from the ceremony to the drinks reception and marquee!
The food was amazing! Not a single fault, every course was gorgeous and every single guest complimented the food ? so much so, one guest messaged the team asking for the soup recipe!
Our day was perfect from start to finish, we cannot recommend Martinstown House enough to anyone it is an amazing venue with stunning grounds, amazing staff and delicious food. Highly recommended.

We got married in Martinstown House in May 2023 and the day was absolutely unforgettable.

Edward, Jennifer and the whole team made every part of the process so easy -- no request was too big or too small and the whole day ran like clockwork from start to finish.

The food is top class; we had so many compliments from our guests on the menu. The ceremony venue is the most intimate place and it makes you feel like you are in a fairytale.

I could not recommend Martinstown House enough for any sort of special celebration. We are hoping to find something else to celebrate soon so we can come back again!

We held our wedding in here in May 2023 and I couldn?t recommend Martinstown House highly enough. It was the most beautiful venue, incredible staff, magical atmosphere and superb food. It is a family business and you can tell how much love and hard work they put into creating a fabulous wedding for the couple and their guests.

My husband and I celebrated our wedding at the beautiful place that is Martinstown House last month, and we can?t praise the team there highly enough. We are so thrilled with how everything went, and so grateful to Edward, Jennifer, and everyone in the kitchen, at the bar, in the house, around the grounds, and all the waiting staff for the care and effort they put into making our wedding day so unforgettably special. We were fortunate enough to have two nights in Martinstown House, a quiet ?night before? for prep to settle into our home for the weekend (and they really did make us feel like it was our home for those few days), and a magical fun-filled wedding day with almost 200 guests the following day. Everything was so well organised, and the attention to detail that Edward, Jennifer and the wider team paid at each stage of the weekend was so impressive. Our families, friends, everyone there, were made to feel so welcome, we were all so well looked after, and the food (I mean every meal from the Friday night comfort food to the breakfast on the Sunday morning and every snack, lunch, side etc. in between), quality and quantity, was excellent. We really wanted to have an outdoor wedding, and the stunning ceremony space that is unique to Martinstown House, allowed us to do that (on a rainy October day), without having to worry about our guests getting drenched! The venue had load of decorations that we were welcome to use on the day, but honestly, there was very little need to because the grounds, the ceremony space, and the cosy and colourful marquee are gorgeous as they are. All the staff, and particularly, Edward and Jennifer, are so good at what they do, and everyone we met was a pleasure to deal with. We have had so many guests get in touch with us since the day to say how impressed they were with the venue, the warm welcome, and all the delicious food. As well as that, Edward and Jennifer were so on top of everything in the lead up to our wedding day and they were so helpful and supportive in facilitating us to have the wedding we wanted to have. I can?t thank them enough!

Wow! What a special place. We had originally intended on getting married in Italy but we cancelled everything due to COVID. I?m so glad we did because I honestly can?t imagine getting married anywhere else. Martinstown is such a special venue. Just so relaxed, natural and beautiful. The food is amazing - everyone has been commenting on it since the wedding but we knew from the tasting we were in for a treat anyway. Edward and Jennifer are so easy to deal with. They?re so flexible and accommodating but also so honest. They won?t let you waste money on something that?s a waste of time which is rare in the wedding industry!

The outdoor ceremony space is why we picked Martinstown originally but the outdoor bar for the drinks reception, dinner and dancing in the marquee and retiring to the fire in the main house - you just wouldn?t ask for more. Even the breakfast the next day was unbelievable and the beds were so comfortable. Not things we thought of beforehand but we were so glad of at the time. It?s a beautiful, special place to hold a wedding you?ll never forget.

We had our wedding at Martinstown House and couldn't have been happier with the experience. It?s a stunning venue, with an incredible outdoor ceremony space, spacious marquee and glamping accommodation.
The team at the venue were incredibly helpful and were happy to accommodate requests to make our day truly personal and special. Huge thank you Edward, Jennifer, Andrew and Jessica!!

The food was delicious and the bar service was top-notch. Our guests really enjoyed the glamping accommodation, and the impressive breakfast the morning after!

We highly recommend Martinstown House enough to anyone looking for a unique wedding venue, with a lovely chill vibe.

We had our wedding at Martinstown House on 27th May 2022. Edward, Jennifer, Andrew, Jess & all of the team at Martinstown blew us away from the first time we spoke to them over zoom during Covid! We had emails, phone calls, video calls and in person catchups leading all the way up to our wedding. There was no task too big for Edward and the team.
We booked 2 days in Martinstown because 1 is most definitely not enough. We had the day before the wedding which gave our families time to settle down and enjoy the build up together. It also gave us the opportunity to get the ceremony area and marquee ready for the wedding the next day. In fairness, we did very little because the venue is pretty much perfection as it is. We enjoyed some food and drinks the night before and relaxed out in the sipping container for the night.
On the day of the wedding we all had breakfast and got ready together, it was super relaxed because the team take care of pretty much everything. The operation is run so smoothly from start to finish. Our guests said they felt like they were in a fairytale for the day. There are so many photo opportunities for your guests while they wait but it is also a dream for photographers. There are so many different areas to the house that you keep your guests guessing and they get a surprise through the day each time they move for various activities.

The food is absolutely devine and the service during the dinner is second to none. We had a buffet style dinner and pretty much everyone got seconds. Unfortunately there wasnt enough blueberry cheesecake for 3rds but we won't hold that against them ????
All of our suppliers loved coming to the house for the day.
The only regret we have was not booking the 3rd day for the day after the wedding as we know we would have been looked after so well! Lots of our friends and family stayed in the glamping village and they thoroughly enjoyed it. Perfect for partying the night away in the marquee and then falling into bed for your nap! We had everyone else staying in nearby B&Bs just make sure you book taxis ahead of time as it is a little out of the way so they need notice!

We can't thank the Martinstown team enough and we hope your books are busy forevermore

Martinstown House was everything we were looking for in a venue. We were planning the wedding from abroad and Edward and his team were with us every step of the way facilitating Zoom tours (the joys of COVID planning), menu accommodations, answering all our questions, and both Edward and Jennifer was there on the day being there to ensure everything ran smoothly. They were honest about previous weddings they'd had, what went well and what didn't and advised us against things that may have been a waste of money in the end. We really appreciated that transparency as its easy to get caught up the the "pinterest" of it all. There have a literal shed of decorations and lawn games that we took full advantage of. Such a special extra feature -- especially when planning from abroad. We had our first look in the Secret Garden, ceremony in the Woodlands, drinks reception at the Sipping Container, and reception in the Marquee -- truly taking advantage of the every beautiful location Martinstown had to offer. The food and service was amazing -- our guests still rave about it. We are so happy we found Martinstown House and could not recommend them highly enough.

Amazing place, amazing people.
Edward and his team could not have been more accommodating, friendly and professional. We stayed two nights (the night before the wedding with family and the night of with all our guests). Everyone spoke so highly of the house itself, the grounds, staff and the food. We had a small wedding of 35 people and it was perfect, but larger weddings/events would also be wonderful here.

We planned a surprise wedding with just our parents and siblings attending and Edward and Jess couldn't have done more to make it easier, they seemed as excited as we were! The venue was gorgeous, the food was some of the most delicious I've ever eaten and everyone there did everything they could to make the day great. There was 12 of us and the study room was the perfect size for the ceremony, the drawing room had a lovely fire going and the flowers (grown on site) they had placed around looked great, the table in the dining room decorated beautifully and so many locations inside and outside were incredible photo spots. I've no doubt they would do large wedding just as well and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them for a smaller group.

Martinstown House was the first and only wedding venue we looked at when we started planning our wedding day last January. After visiting the venue and speaking with Jessica, we knew we had found the perfect venue. The grounds are beautiful, the house itself is so charming and we were immediately made feel at home with a cup of tea in front of a roaring fire. We were lucky to have an outdoor wedding in September in the woodlands and it was everything we could have hoped for. We had a humanist ceremony and the entire team was so accommodating and helpful in organising the day. Jessica, Edward and Andrew were absolutely amazing during the planning process and on the day itself, with all of our requests met with enthusiasm and wonderful advice. They really did an amazing job in keeping us calm in the build up to the wedding day and every last minute request was taken care of with no fuss and with a lot of fun. We could not be happier with our wedding day and the entire team at Martinstown House went above and beyond to ensure a memorable weekend for us and all of our guests. Everyone is still raving about the day, the venue and the food especially Andrew?s incredible deserts! We could never thank them enough. Andi and Neil

We spent a long time looking for the right venue for our wedding and when we found Martinstown House we knew we had found the right place. Edward, Jessica and Andrew made the wedding special making everyone feel welcome.

The ceremony space was amazing, a real find. We were looking to create a Mandapam for a Hindu element of the Ceremony, the partially covered space made it ideal.

During the prep time, they were always quick to respond and customize the day to our needs.

The day was incredibly special and so much fun. A lot of that came down to the care and attentiveness that the team at Martinstown house provided.

The guests all said that the food Andrew made was the best they ever had at a wedding. He even drove some of our guests back to their hotels when they had trouble getting a taxi.

We couldn't have asked for a better day. The Place, the food, the people, this venue is perfect don't let this great venue slip through your fingers.

The team at Martinstown House worked so hard to give us the day we wanted and we're so grateful to them! We took a long time to choose our venue and Martinstown House ticked all the boxes. We were keen to find a venue where we could have a lot of input on how our day ran and they were happy to listen to all of our ideas and help make our day happen. They were a wonderful help in the run up to the wedding and definitely took the pain out of the planning process. Well, where do we start. From the moment we chose Martinstown House for our ceremony and reception we knew we'd made the right decision. Jessica, Edward and Andrew could not have done more for us or our guests. They helped give us the dream wedding we'd imagined. Going above and beyond for us and nothing was too much trouble. There's no putting it into words. As a venue, Martinstown House is incredibly beautiful and welcoming. The ceremony area, well nothing can compare to it. From the tin roof to the wood frame and even the chandelier, it's a woodland setting that dreams are made of. All of our guests are still commenting on it. And the food was incredible, well what we had of it haha, nerves kicked in for speeches and we barely touched our meal but the comments from guests about the fabulous meal and the variety of options rings true (our tasting menu blew us away- thank you Andrew). We just can't recommend Martinstown House enough. You will not find a more beautiful place to hold your wedding and as we said above, Jessica, Edward and Andrew are amazing. You just cant go wrong with this venue. If we could do it all again we'd be back there in a heartbeat. Thank you guys xxx

Where do we start?! If you?re looking for somewhere to have your dream wedding look no further than Martinstown!!

The best thing about Martinstown is the staff. Edward, Jessica, Andrew and the whole team are just fantastic. We organised our wedding from New Zealand and Edward was always so responsive in answering all our emails and questions, making the whole process a breeze. Jessica ensures the whole day runs smoothly and they really care about you, and making sure you have the wedding of YOUR dreams. They allow you to do whatever you want (within reason!!) and are open to all your ideas, providing support and guidance with their wealth of wedding experience.

The venue speaks for itself from the beautiful house, manicured lawn, incredible woodland ceremony area, secret garden and marquee.

The food is just incredible!! Andrew is indeed a talented man and we were treated to an immaculate feast before dancing the night away!!

Our whole wedding day and wider experience was perfect from start to finish. So as I say, book it today!!!

Martinstown House was the venue for our wedding in October 2017 and to say we chose wisely would be an understatement. From the first meeting with Jessica in the spring, we were treated with warmth, enthusiasm, sage advice and genuine, personalised wedding planning. Hurricane Ophelia and Storm Brian tried their best to cause trouble for the great team of Jessica, Edward and Andy but our entire day was perfect from start to finish. I would recommend the professionalism, ambiance, food and hospitality of this great venue - all our family and friends are still raving about it!

We had a really fabulous wedding weekend in Martinstown House. The delicious food and the laid-back atmosphere and charm of the venue were exactly what we wanted for our wedding. Additionally, the ability to decorate the marquee to put our mark on the wedding added real appeal. The staff get full marks - Irish hospitality at its best. The communal breakfast with our close family and friends around the big table the morning after was really special and an unexpected highlight. Not only did we have a fantastic weekend - so many of our guests commented on the delicious food and the beautiful gardens too. It was truly perfect and we would like to relive it over and over again.

This place is lovely and unique on so many levels. The family who run the venue are attentive and kind, ready to personally see to all kinds of requests. The grounds are incredible: from the centuries old house, outdoor ceremony space, walled garden and huge parkland. Dinner was great as was the late night food. The quirky things were my favourite like the firetruck and VW bus for pictures. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a unique setting to throw the party of a life time.

After just an hour-long drive from Dublin, we arrived at the gates of Martinstown House, sensing immediately that something special was about to be revealed at the top of the meandering tree lined avenue. We spent just a few months planning our wedding and Martinstown was our first and only hotel viewing. Enough said. As we drove up to the house, we began to dream that this would be where we would get married.
We felt a sense of warmth and welcome from the first minute. The house is a treasure. We loved it so much that we almost wanted to keep it a secret. Filled with history around every corner, it?s an amazing Strawberry Gothic beauty, by Victorian architect Decimus Burton. It fitted perfectly with our dream of vintage themed wedding. It?s so comfortable and homely - we cannot speak highly enough of the warm, cosy and immaculate bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms, which we were more than delighted to show our friends to when they arrived for the big day (and night) with us. There is also great accommodation available in the lovely courtyard.
The walled ?Secret? garden was for us our perfect setting for the ceremony and we were lucky to have fantastic weather to have drinks on the lawn with our family and friends afterwards. This was followed by a fantastic and taste-filled sophisticated dinner in a candlelit dining room which included a delicious homemade garden soup, perfectly cooked guinea fowl, vegetables and potatoes and, not one, but a trio of exquisite desserts. It was clear that all of our guests really enjoyed the feast. Later, the dining room was quickly cleared to allow for everyone to dance late into the night. Luckily, the weather was so good that guests also had the choice to drink and mingle outside at a log fire on the lawn. A memorable day was had by everyone.
After a refreshing morning shower in a spotlessly clean and spacious bathroom, we came down to a first-class breakfast with our friends and family of full Irish, sausages, bacon, eggs from the farm, mushrooms, tomatoes, pudding, homemade muesli and preserves, a selection of yogurts, fresh fruit and cheese, coffee and tea and more. It was delicious and a lovely way to say goodbye to our guests.
Edward, Jessica and Andrew were very visible and involved throughout our stay, ceremony and reception, moving around to make sure that everyone was comfortable and well looked after. It must have been about 4am when we went to bed, and they were still downstairs entertaining our friends and family in the late bar. When we woke the next morning, we looked outside to see Jessica showing another couple around the grounds as the heavens poured down. They work tirelessly and always with a smile.
We could not speak highly enough of the quality of hospitality of everyone at Martinstown. Planning a wedding can be stressful and they certainly have a special ability to reassure you that everything is going to be ok. We certainly had many questions by phone and email ? all of which were met with efficiency and courtesy. Thank you for the wonderful welcome, service and memories.

We celebrated our big day in Martinstown House. We could not have chosen a better venue. The venue is picturesque, well maintained and allows you to travel back in time, ideal for special occasions. Edward, Jessica & Andrew are very easy to deal with and very accommodating. All our special requests were met with no issues. Their attention to detail is second to none. Our day was hassle free and relaxing in a very warm atmosphere, emphasised by the large open fire places. Andrew, the chef, with his talent and ability to create delicious plates of food made the dinning experience something to remember. The rooms are very comfortable, spacious and all extra needs were met.
Overall it was a wonderful time spent in Martinstown house, not only for us but all of our guests who were complimenting the hospitality and kindness of Edward & Jessica.

We recently had our wedding at Martinstown House. What can we say it was a perfect weekend from start to finish. Edward was a brilliant host and made the entire wedding planning process stress free and is always there to help with whatever little request you may have. All of the rooms in the main house and courtyard were fabulous and spotless. Our guests were delighted with how relaxed the wedding day was, the beautiful grounds and the delicious spitroast menu. It is a day we will never forget and are delighted we chose this amazing venue to host our big day.

For months prior to our daughter Claire's wedding Andrew, Roisin and Edward advised and guided Claire and her, now, husband Declan on all aspects of the catering, presentation, and timings.

As the parents of the bride we were extremely grateful for their help and expertise. I have been told in the past that the parents of the bride rarely actually enjoy their daughters wedding as the worry of " pleasing" everyone is on their shoulders. NOT in our case.

We had an absolute wonderful time. I use That word as our day was indeed full of wonder.

The smooth execution and delivery of such eye pleasing, tasty, Michelin star worthy food was first class service.

The friendly, helpful always smiling staff could not have done anything more. This all wrapped in the beautiful surroundings, lantern lite private secret gardens in the evening, offered our privacy, intimacy and security for family, couples and children alike. I could not recommend or boast Martinstown House enough.

Thank you for giving our daughter the magical romantic wedding we and she could only have dreamed of for her. Our dream became a reality in Martinstown house
