We planned our wedding during the pandemic and found it difficult to tie down details as MJE had a high turnover of staff including our wedding planner in itself. There was evidence that communication between the event management team and the operations team was lacking as agreements made were not in place on the day. While we respect the position MJE found themselves in, as did many other hospitality companies, it did result in a less than satisfactory day. We also felt that as the Irish Open had been held 3wks prior that energy and attention was reserved for that and our event naturally suffered. Guests did not receive the rooms that had been agreed, areas of the reception that had been promised were not made available. Despite the forecast for rain an indoor area had not been fully prepped as a contingency (which we had to use halfway through and could not seat all our guests). There was no umbrella made available for the bride, so I got soaked when it did start raining. When I came down from my room ready to go to the ceremony there was no one there to meet me and I was left, in full get up to go find someone to tell me where to go to get my vehicle across to the gardens. The reception was meant to be an open bar, but guests paid for their drinks. There were key members of staff who did go above and beyond their own roles to salvage our day and we were very grateful and made our gratitude clear - these members of staff carried the estate. The food from the kitchens was beautiful and our day 2 bbq was second to none and did redeem the day prior. While the detail was not what I was looking for, again, I respect that MJE did find themselves in a difficult position with staff post lockdown and did give that feedback prior to our check out. I have every hope that their situation has improved in the 12months since. All that being said, our guests did really enjoy themselves and had huge compliments for the rooms and the quality of food.

We loved our wedding day, and Mount Juliet were excellent to us. We had lots of specialist requests, and they were all adhered to. The quality of service was excellent, and the food was particularly great, and the chef demonstrated great flexibility and was very down to earth. We had our reception in the Manor House, which came with a requirement to book all of the rooms in the house. An exclusivity fee was offered to us for a few thousand euro, but this wasn't required. The need to book all the rooms required alot of work for us behind the scenes in order to ensure the rooms were used. Our guests had a great day, and the feedback we have is very positive. We look forward to our return stay.

We had our wedding last weekend in Mount Juliet. From start to finish everything ran so smoothly. Angela the wedding co-ordinater is amazing. Nothing was ever a problem and she was always available to answer any questions or offer her professional opinion. We had a day to remember with thanks to Angela and the staff in Mount Juliet.

Venue beautiful, found staff very helpful, had a few issues coming up to wedding as wedding coordinator changed a number of times so had to keep updating new person with information that had already been given, other than that really enjoyed the day and would recommend venue.

We had our wedding at Mount Juliet on July 14, 2013. There are no words to describe how fabulous everything went! Lil is an amazing coordinator, anything we asked for was taken care of and she always made sure to verify any little details that came up along the way to ensure that the day was exactly as we wanted it to be. The food was so incredible!!!! we have received endless compliments! The house and the grounds were so beautiful. All of our guests told us how much they loved the rooms they stayed in. The entire staff is so helpful and serving, anything and everything we needed was efficiently taken care of. I could go on and on, definitely would recommend it to anyone!!!! Can't wait to go back for our one year anniversary! :)

We had our wedding reception in Mount Juliet at the end of May and it was fabulous! Lil and Xavier go above and beyond with their service. It is one of the most beautiful estates in Ireland looking down over the Nore and the Kilkenny countryside. The old house is a beautiful setting for the drinks reception. We had our main reception in Kendal's. The food was amazing- the first full meal I had eaten in weeks!! Many of our guests commented to us on the staff as they were so welcoming and accommodating. There were so many locations for fabulous photos too. We stayed in Mount Juliet the night before and had dinner for 20 family and friends in the Lady Helen restaurant and the food there was out of this world. The bridal suite is so beautiful too. I cannot recommend Mount Juliet enough. Thank you for our marvellous wedding day!
