We had our wedding at the Royal, and couldn't be happier with how everything went! This is a timeless venue, with beautiful views of the ocean and so quaint, it felt so intimate to celebrate our special day there! The team at the Royal also went out of their way to meet our every need and were on top of everything. We had to postpone our wedding due to Covid and they were so accommodating, we felt understood and supported along the way. The decor, service, and especially the food were incredible, honestly the best wedding meals we've ever had! Just wonderful in every way.

Hi I'm Elaine Corkery and I was privileged to be mother of the bride on the 14th of June 2019.
My daughter,Eleanor and her finance Dawid tied the knot in the Royal Hotel Valentia.From start to finish we were so well catered for.
Laura and Fiona were so helpful in helping us plan all the little and not so little details,beautiful rooms were made available to all of us on the day to dress and to stay.All of our guests commented on how comfortable they were and the glorious views.We opted for a buffet and the food ways simply out of this world on both days.Plenty of staff,no one kept thirsty at the bar,great craic all night and cooked to order breakfast next morning.
All in all a wedding at the Royal is a day to remember and a treat for all .

We got married in May 2019 in the breathtaking surroundings of the Royal Valentia Hotel, on Valentia Island.We could not recommend the hotel and staff enough.From the very beginning of our contact with them, we were put as ease and made feel so comfortable.They were so accommodating,friendly and welcoming.They made it hassle free from start to finish.The day could not have gone any better- from the weather and the idyllic surroundings overlooking the sea with a view of the ocean, to the mountains and the surrounding landscape. It was a little peaceful haven for us and our guests.The attention to detail from the staff and the rooms were of a very high standard.The staff let us party all night, even serving drinks until early in the morning. We booked out the whole hotel which we'd highly recommend. The food was excellent and fresh and there was a beautiful outdoor area overlooking the peer.Our guests were so pleased and amazed with the surroundings and the vintage decor.The venue for the ceremony was like a dream come true with the views of the sea as we said our vows.The staff seamlessly transformed the ceremony room into the dining room and it was perfect for how we envisioned it .It was a dream location,a fantastic warm staff and the best day of our lives.Thank you Royal Valentia for making our day and our stay so special.

We were married on the 14th September 2018 in the banquet room in the Royal.
The hotel: The owners running the hotel are friendly and available for couples whenever we needed them. We found them laid back and professional each time we met. The hotel has been upgraded and renovated each time we have visited in the past 5 years and we were never aware of works happening. The hotel is beautiful and the history is obvious in all rooms and in the bar/restaurant. All the staff were friendly and polite and service is always good. Best way to get in touch is by phone, in my opinion.
Food: Just a stone's throw from the sea, the Royal do the best fish and chips, I've ever had! Our wedding tasting was very generous and our food on the day was gorgeous. Our guests commented on the chicken curry in the main restaurant and the chicken skewers at the reception were a huge hit with our guests.
Planning the wedding: We booked our wedding well in advance, and found the packages to be flexible and fair and for the service we got on the day, very good value! No fuss on the day and they dealt with our best man excellently. The dining room was airy, crisp and beautiful, we had sunshine on the day, making the views beautiful from the room but were in their the next day for a bbq type buffet (?5 surcharge pp) and it was stormy outside, the room was cosy and warm!
According to my husband, the Guinness is great.
Would definitely recommend for a unique, authentic experience.

We cannot thank the staff at the Royal Hotel Valentia enough for the wonderful day we had. From the moment we first got in touch, they put us at our ease. They gave us great support and advice during the planning stages and simply took care of everything on the day, to leave us free to enjoy ourselves.
The hotel is fabulous and the staircase was great for our family photos as it was raining outside. Our guests were blown away by the d?cor in their rooms, the function room and around the hotel.
The food was fantastic and the kitchen catered for a wider range of dietary needs with no hassle at all.
The staff were professional, helpful and great craic on the day ? they definitely added to the super atmosphere. The team superseded our expectations over the long weekend we stayed at the hotel. We have created a wonderful memory thanks to the team at the Royal.

Words really can't express how perfect the team at The Royal made our wedding day.
I'm an events planner, I would say I'm quite hard to please, the care and attention to detail the royal showed when we had our wedding there in August 2017 was mind blowing. From the early planning stages to Laura checking each and EVERY plate that left that kitchen, it's just the perfect place to have your special day. It's family run, you will never be just a number like most hotels, and you can really feel that. I'm also such a foodie, and that was phenomenal!
I'm so thankful to all of the team at The Royal, they made our day better than we could have ever imagined and I will be forever grateful.

Myself and my husband organised our whole wedding while living in Australia. Valentia Island was the obvious location for us, me having spent most of my summers there growing up. From the very first contact to the Royal Hotel in relation to availability and packages - the staff were fantastic!
We were going to be the very first wedding in the newly refurbished function room, and although major building works were underway - Fiona kept us fully informed and up to date with the progress throughout the year. She even walked us through the plans when we visited to keep our minds at ease!
On the day of the wedding, Laura, Kate and all the team at the Royal Hotel ran the show with amazing precision - we didn't have to worry about a single thing, allowing us to enjoy our perfect day and be in the moment.
Everything from the food and drink, to the d?cor and service were just excellent! Even now, two years after our amazing day - we still have friends and family telling us that our wedding at the Royal was the best wedding they were ever at!!
