We don’t know where to start. Our wedding at The Shamrock Lodge was beyond our highest expectations. From our first meeting with Alan, he asked us to leave everything in their hands, we felt comfortable enough to do that and with no interference, our day was just beyond amazing. Alan, Paddy, Warren, Rebecca & all the staff at the hotel went above and beyond on our special day. Our guests couldn’t speak highly enough about the food & kind staff on the day. Everyone was made feel right at home. We were treated like a king & queen. Our day 2 was a BBQ here also. Same again with the standard of service and attention to us & our guests. We couldn’t recommend The Shamrock Lodge highly enough to anyone looking for the perfect venue for their special day. What we wouldn’t do to do it all over again and we wouldn’t change a single thing.

We had our wedding at the Shamrock Lodge Hotel, a month ago and we would like to thank Paddy,Alan,Warren, Rebecca and all the staff for making our day so special. The food was excellent and all our guests were very well catered for. The gardens were amazing and we got some beautiful wedding photos taken there. If you are looking for a venue for your wedding, we would highly recommend it.

I’m not sure where to start for this absolutely incredible experience. My husband and I had the wedding of our dreams at The Lodge, I knew we had found the best venue for our wedding after meeting Alan the owner & Warren the manager. To begin with, Alan & Warren were very attentive & genuinely wanted to make our event perfect. They listened to my ideas, vision and helped us find the perfect options for us. Honestly, absolutely everything they provided exceeded our hopes and expectations. The entire process of planning was so easy, they made every effort to accommodate us in every way to make it the most special day. They were always quick to respond, making communication simple. Deborah the reservation manager was amazing as we had many room changes etc. The drinks reception was well arranged as we had a large number of guests attending our wedding. The main ballroom was dazzling & the backdrop, recommended by Alan was really appealing to the eye. The plated meals and their presentation were outstanding, everyone was so impressed with the food & service. During the reception, the staff were amazing and kind to everyone, and treated us, literally, like royalty. Our friends and family raved for weeks about how incredible everything was, saying it was the perfect mix of class and unpretentiousness. Even my 8 year old daughter could not believe the quality of everything and has declared she wants to have her communion in the Shamrock Lodge. I cannot recommend this venue, and all of its staff, enough. I wish we could do it all again at The Shamrock Lodge. A million thanks to Alan, Warren, Deborah & all the staff for giving us an unbelievable day, and memories we will cherish for a lifetime.

It was a fantastic day. The hotel staff were amazing throughout the whole planning of the day and the running of the day.

Mary and the team are fantastic at settling your nerves and making you feel comfortable. Nothing was ever an issue from the first meeting we had with Alan to book our dates with him. Very much a family vibe and feeling about the place.

All our guests have commented that it was one of the best wedding venues they had attended, and the food was amazing. If we can recommend anything, it would be more of that amazing veg soup on the menu. 5 courses of that would have gone down just as good.

After 4 date changes we got married on 18th August 2022. Paddy, Alan, Warren, Mary and all the staff couldn't do enough for us. From the start of our planning they made us feel so relaxed and no request was ever too much for them.

We can't recommend the Lodge enough for any couples planning on getting married. Everyone complimented the food and service that day. We had a brilliant 3 days at the hotel. Thanking you so much again.

I cannot recommend Alan and his staff enough. Alan has been a dream to work with from the first time I rang him to have a look at the hotel. Everything went so smoothly both in the run up and on the day of the wedding. His staff is a credit to him each one of them were so polite and helpful. If you want a wedding day that will run smoothly and you can just sit back a relax and enjoy the day then 100% book your wedding with Alan or Mary in the Shamrock lodge in Athlone. There beautiful grounds are a major plus for pictures or for the small ones to play the day away.

Would highly recomend the shamrock lodge we had amazing expernce with the whole staff from the beging of plaining to our big day. Food is out of this world. Whatever size wedding you want they will cater from 20- 200. We both really enjoyed our day from start to finnish they are the most helpful down to earth people you will ever deal with and make wedding plainning so much more enjoyable. Where do I begin with with the Shamrock Lodge Hotel .....
We got married there in July 2022 and absolutely everything went perfect.
All the staff in the Lodge are so helpful. From Paddy, Alan, Warren and Mary to all reception, bar, serving and housekeeping staff, they are honestly so accommodating and helpful.
I can honestly say I didn't have to worry about anything, their calm and happy demeanor is really felt and remembered, you know you're in good hands.
Nothing was too much to ask Mary or any of the lads. The food is always absolutely unreal.
It really is a special family hotel and they make you and yours feel part of theirs!
We would without a doubt recommend the Shamrock Lodge, we have already and will continue to into the future.

Absolutely amazing!

From start to finish the hotel was so accommodating we couldn’t thank them enough. From the wedding coordinator to the waitstaff everyone was so lovely. We had no issues with anything as whatever we wanted or needed was taken care of straight away.
Our guests are still talking about our wedding weeks later, especially the food. This was stunning!

We are so sad our day is over, but thanks to the hotel and it’s amazing staff it is a day that has left us with zero regrets. If we could do it all over again we would definitely pick the Shamrock Lodge to do that.

We held our wedding at the Shamrock Lodge Hotel at the end of May this year. From the moment we had our initial meeting with Warren way back at the start of 2020 we knew it was the venue for us! Unfortunately due to COVID we had to postpone the date and the hotel could not have been more accommodating. I cannot speak highly enough of the service that we received from Alan and his team, every member of staff we spoke to along the way was so friendly and helpful. There is very much a family feel to the hotel and they cannot do enough for you to make your day special, from accommodating those personalised requests to answering numerous emails along the way! We got blessed with the weather on the day, and without any issue the hotel allowed us to make that last minute decision to have our drinks reception moved to the garden and had it beautifully set-up for when our guests arrived. The dinner and timeliness of service on the day was also excellent, although I would expect nothing less as they are well known in the area for the quality of food on offer. I would highly recommend the Shamrock Lodge Hotel to anyone thinking of getting married in the Midlands, my only disappointment is that we can't do it all over again!! :) A sincere thank you to Paddy, Alan and all the team at the Lodge.

We couldn't have asked for a better venue to hold our special day. From the initial wedding booking right up to when we checked out the day after the wedding, Mary, Jason, Paddy and the rest of the staff at the Lodge looked after us impeccably. We had a few requests regarding menu adaptations and personalizing the room with our own decorations and nothing was too much trouble. We had a few guests with special dietary requirements (diabetic, vegetarian etc.) and they were well looked after on the day in terms of food and drink as were all of our other guests. The day itself ran so smoothly and stress free due to the efforts of Mary, Jason and the entire staff. They never stopped all day ensuring that everything was perfect.

The hotel was spotless clean, the rooms were spacious and comfortable, the staff were so welcoming and the food (and portion sizes!) was absolutely out of this world. Their grounds make the absolute perfect backdrop for your wedding photos and we didn't even need to go off site to get them. The gardens and surroundings are so well kept and our photos came out beautiful because of this. Our guests are still raving about the whole day and have said it was the best wedding they've been to. We'd highly recommend booking your wedding here, you won't be disappointed. This was our third wedding date due to the pandemic and throughout the rescheduling process and uncertainty, Mary couldn't have been more helpful or understanding. They really take their slogan of "Let our family look after yours" so seriously and execute it perfectly.

Myself and my husband decided to get married in the shamrock lodge as nearly all big events in both of our families have been held here so it was very close to us. The staff are absolutely brilliant at their jobs and would help with anything you asked. Alan and Warren were the main two in helping us organise our special day and they both went above and beyond, the ceremony room was just beautiful and the dinner reception was amazing (can never go wrong with their food). You see most couples on there wedding day totally stressed out but I can guarantee that won't happen with this amazing team, I would highly recommend getting married in the shamrock lodge absolute quality service and not just to the newly married couple but to all their guests!!

Daniel & myself got married on 29th April 2022. From the time we met Alan, Paddy Warren, Mary & their class team nothing was a chore for us. We instantly felt a sense of family homely warm vibes. Nothing was a problem, anything we wanted to know about, whether it be about entertainment to table signs to food, it was answered straight away, and everything was facilitated for. From the entrance we received on our wedding day, to the gorgeous Shamrock Lodge grounds, to the ballroom, to the unbelievable food. (And so much food :) :) ). To the accommodation, it was simply magical. We and our guests felt right at home on the day of our wedding. Alan and his team went above and beyond for us. It's a day & night we will never forget. Our family and friends are still complimenting the delicious food and the excellent service that was provided on the day. In their words "one of the best wedding venues they have attended, with the best food there is".

We could not recommend The Shamrock Lodge enough for a wedding venue. Everything was perfect from start to finish. Prior to our wedding, looking for a venue, when we first stepped into the Shamrock Lodge, there was a feeling of having come home, almost like, we finally arrived. Having visited endless hotels, and drank questionable cups of bottomless coffee across the north-west, we finally had hope.
Having arrived at the hotel, we both quickly realised that the warmth of the Shamrock Lodge, Athlone, somehow evoked both our childhoods and our future together. At this point …we were only in the foyer. This place has magic.
The receptionist’s smile caught us both by surprise, so genuine. All hotel receptionists smile, but here, you could almost taste a genuine sense of tradition in her greeting, a tradition that was respected and upheld by all the staff in this family run business. This hotel clearly cares for their staff, and it shows and pays off and this will show on your wedding day, staff that care and take genuine pride.
The management staff welcomed us and brought us through the different options, and the complimentary pint was very welcomed after buckets of coffee elsewhere.
Having chosen the Shamrock Lodge within minutes, we both knew this was the place without a doubt.
The day we arrived at the Lodge, after getting married, that feeling of coming home - our family and friends around us cheering us on- the feeling of togetherness, was somehow and uniquely echoed in the service, the architecture, and the environment, in this family-run Irish business.
The staff are just that bit better than other establishments that we experienced… they seem to care that bit more. That is what makes the difference on yoru big day. They know their customer, they spend that extra minute, the food is that bit more tender and the wine seems sweeter.
Practically, for photographs, the grounds are amazing, curling in the driveway in your wedding-car is quite an experience!
One the day, management was never more than a glance away, for the entire night, which for us was most impressive.
Nothing, absolutely nothing, was a problem, and most impressively, the overall price reflected our budget and they worked with us, a young couple starting out!
We could speak about the beautiful, mouth-watering food, or the cream that was the Guinness, or the architecture that is a resplendent reflection of years of a family-owned business that has moved with the times whilst never having forgotten its roots, however, that would overlook the receptionist or the bar staff, or the cleaning staff who make this hotel what it really is, a place of absolute comfort, style, elegance, and a genuine Irish welcome and these are the tradespeople who will make your day, finely trained experts in their own craft.
This hotel is a sophisticated Irish home. It is your chance to experience what you want in your heart, what you can see, yet cannot find. This hotel, its staff and facilities are what you are searching for.
Working alongside them (in terms of preparation, in advance) is so easy, no panic, no drama, just professionalism diluted with understanding.

We both feel so thrilled, so happy, and so relieved having found and chosen the Shamrock Lodge, Athlone, for our wedding venue. We cannot wait to go back to visit soon for our anniversary, and many more to come, please God.

It was the best day of our lives. Paddy, Alan, Warren and all the Shamrock staff went above and beyond for us and our guests. The service was second to none. Our guests still speak of how it good the food and service was. Anything we asked of Shamrock nothing was problem. I highly recommend this hotel and if I could give it ten stars I definitely would as they deserve it.

We knew that we made the best decision for choosing Shamrock Lodge Hotel as a venue for our wedding reception. From planning, up to the day of the wedding, the Shamrock Lodge team gave their best to accommodate our request and preferences. They really live up to their motto of "let our family look after yours". We are very happy with how our wedding celebration went, from welcoming us with red carpet up to the next day of our check out. Our family and friends were delighted with the venue, staff and the meal. The food is superb and the service is really good. My husband and I would like to say a big thanks to Paddy, Alan, Mary, Warren and the rest of the team. Thank you for a job well done and for the extra mile effort that made our big day so special.

My husband and I had our wedding in the Shamrock Lodge Hotel on July 31st 2021. The staff at the Shamrock Lodge were incredible!! They were so welcoming from the very start and created such a positive, uplifting and exciting experience for us that we will never forget. They truly were a dream to work with. We worked and liaised a lot with Mary, Warren and Jason and they were an absolute pleasure to work with. The really helped with building the excitement around the wedding and there was no stone left unturned. We felt that we could ask anything, make suggestions and changes where necessary. The made sure that our wedding day was the most special day ever.
The hotel itself was beautiful. A gorgeous reception area, ceremony room and function room. The stunning gardens were perfect for photos and drinks reception. The food was exquisite. No course could be faulted and there were second helpings of everything.
You can tell that the team at the Shamrock Lodge work tremendously well together and always put in the best efforts for their wedding couples and guests, but I feel they truly went above and beyond for us both in the lead up, on the day and also afterwards. They really made sure that our wedding felt as normal as it possibly could given the fact we got married during Covid restrictions.
I could not recommend this venue and their incredible team more. The Shamrock Lodge Hotel should definitely be at the top of your list when looking for a venue for your special day. You will not be disappointed!!

We couldn’t recommend these guys enough. We have celebrated so many occasions in the Shamrock Lodge Hotel and have never been disappointed. After a number of times rescheduling, we finally had our wedding and everyone was so helpful. They went above and beyond for us. Paddy, Alan, and Warren were on hand during the weeks leading up to our wedding and for the entire day, always checking in with us in case we needed anything. The rooms were decorated so beautifully and they even went out of their way to source specific décor for the ceremony room that we had liked. The food and service was amazing, as always. We first met with Alan just weeks before our wedding. Unfortunately, due to covid we needed to change our wedding venue last minute, merely weeks before our date. We did not want to change our date as we had been waiting over 2 years to get married. Alan was absolutely brilliant, an amazing person to deal with-it felt as if we had been planning our wedding for the last 2 years with him. There was nothing Alan couldn't do for us, he went above and beyond. The hotel adhered to all covid regulations on the day-Alan and team made us feel so special on our day, even with covid we enjoyed every single minute. The staff at the shamrock are fantastic! Everyone was so helpful, couldn't do enough for all of us. Again nothing was a problem for the staff-they were just brilliant. The food was divine! Everyone was delighted with the food- the portions were so generous! The rooms were super clean; The smell in the rooms is beautiful. We really felt so special on our wedding day, but we also felt special when we just went for dinner there. I CANNOT WAIT FOR RESTAURANTS AND HOTELS TO BE OPENED AGAIN TO EAT HERE. This is a hotel that everyone should go to eat and stay as the staff go above and beyond.
One thing that will always stick in my mind is the lovely lady Mary who sewed a piece of my sisters dress that ripped! that is an example of above and beyond!

When we set out on our journey of planning our wedding at the Shamrock Lodge Hotel, we never dreamt that a pandemic would hit and have us rearranging everything. Our wedding was held on 20th November 2020 where only 25 guests could attend.
During the planning everyone at the Shamrock Lodge went above and beyond to help us with any queries or questions we had.
The support we received throughout the whole year was exceptional. From changing our original wedding date, to reducing our guest numbers to safety measures, the list was endless. Nothing was too big or too small of an ask.

When we arrived for our big day, everything was beyond perfect. Alan and the team are outstanding at what they do. The drinks reception, the food and the room layout and decoration was beyond what we could have imagined under covid restrictions.
We were so happy we went ahead with our wedding and could not recommend the Shamrock Lodge enough.

We were in touch with Alan throughout our planning process and he was amazing - so down to earth and approachable, made things easy through his knowledge, experience and fantastic personality. He kept us from losing the plot, at the same time giving us great options and ideas

The venue itself was set beautifully and everything we had asked for was catered to, we even had a Piper playing us down the aisle. The grounds of the venue are scenic and perfect for your photos.

The food - oh, the food! The food was five stars, it was tasty, hot and plentiful, all our guests raved about it afterwards. The service was prompt and attentive & friendly

All the staff – from reception, wait, housekeeping and bar staff were amazing and genuine in making this a day to remember even in midst of a pandemic! Without the wonderful staff our day wouldn’t be possible – So thank you!

Having had such a fantastic wedding day in the Shamrock Lodge Hotel we thought it would be a nice idea to share our experience for other couples to read. It also gives us another chance to thank everyone at this hotel for making ours such a great day.

We decided to have our wedding at this hotel having attended a few weddings here as guests and thoroughly enjoying every one of them. Planning a wedding can be a daunting prospect but we have to say our whole experience in dealing with the management and staff was a pleasure. Nothing was a problem for them to organize. Their help and assistance in ensuring all of our requirements were met were second to none. Also their attention to detail was fantastic.

The whole process from the start - an evening chat with Paddy, to the meetings we had with Mary, who was exceptional in her assistance with the whole planning process, to Alan and the team who looked after us and our guests on the big day - to the finish was flawless. The management and staff could not have done any more to make our wedding day such a memorable and enjoyable experience.

The incredible work that the staff had done in each of the rooms we used during our day was a credit to their dedication on making sure that our day was very special not only for us but also for them. From the room in which our marriage ceremony took place, to the reception room and on to the dining room, we appreciated how much they cared as the decor in each room was done beautifully. It is quite simply a fantastic venue and our day could not have gone any better.

Absolutely brilliant wedding venue, we had the day of our dreams nothing was 2 much for the staff Warren Alan and paddy were amazing to deal with from day one when we booked our wedding. There is nothing I could fault it was perfection food location and staff fab!! We got married the end of November and the hotel was done up so beautiful for Christmas it was stunning really added to the day!! Can't rate the shamrock lodge any higher 10/10 always!!

Paddy and Alan (father and son) are absolutely brilliant to deal with I loved the fact that the hotel is family run and you can tell this the minute you walk through the door there is a very relaxed atmosphere. The hotel itself is fantastic it has all the amenities you will ever need I had separate rooms for our ceremony, reception drinks and ballroom. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were all very polite and helpful, the food is top quality and the value for money is spot on. I will be returning for my first wedding anniversary dinner soon.
