The Avon

Myself and my 'Husband' got married in The Avon on the 27th July 2019 - it was absolutely amazing, the views were breathtaking, the staff were lovey and very accommodating, could not recommended The Avon enough - thank you so much!

We are back in the land of the living and just wanted to drop you a line to say thank you for such an amazing day!! from start to finish we were looked after - Geraldine kept my nerves in check right up until the day before the wedding where Laura took over and went out of her way to make sure we were all ok , Jacob outdone himself with the food which people are still raving about! All of the staff throughout the day were like busy little bees looking after us and we cant thank you all enough, its a day we will never forget so thank you from the bottom of our hearts :)

We dealt with Katie for our wedding and Saoirse for accommodation. They were both along with the rest of their team, extremely professional. They responded quickly to any queries. I couldn't recommend them highly enough. The venue was magnificent with stunning views and the food was lovely. All our guest were pleased. I'd do it all again with the Avon Ri if I could.

Our wedding was in Ireland but it could have been anywhere in the world. The ceremony took place outside overlooking Blessington lakes and definitely had the wow factor. It had a rustic feel that was felt throughout the Avon Ri resort, with a beautiful festival style tent sheltering our reception in the library bar. The day flowed from start to finish and I believe that that's the vibe this relaxed setting offers.

Choosing to have our wedding day here is a decision that we are delighted with. It really is a wonderland where even indoors the stunning views and interior offer the outdoors.

We can't express our gratitude to all of the staff in the Avon Ri for the most magical wedding imaginable. From start to finish the staff went above and beyond to make the experience a personal one where attention to detail and customer service were the makers of the best day of our lives.
Myself and Duncan will miss you Katie. You are top of your game when it comes to wedding planning, Thank you!

Had our wedding in August,love this place,we had an outdoor wedding,it was amazing,food is amazing and staff are so lovely and very helpfull,would defitnitly recommend the Avon Ri lakeshore Resort.

We dealt with Katie and Saoirse throughout the final stages of planning our wedding and over the weekend itself. They couldn't do enough for us, everything ran so smoothly with accommodation and the Bridal House is newly refurbished and just so gorgeous. We were due to have an outdoor ceremony and with 10 minutes until the ceremony, the heavens opened! The staff quickly moved the ceremony to the beautiful covered decking area overlooking Blessington Lakes, and our guests felt the turnaround was so smooth and professional. We had quite a busy day with bands playing at our drinks reception as well as after the meal, and staff were on hand to support us throughout. We had about 20% of our guests eating vegan or vegetarian food, and the chef, Ray, ensured that everyone was very well looked after. I had serious issues with my bank when trying to make the payment and the staff were so patient and accommodating while I sorted it out. We cannot fault this venue and would highly recommend it for its food, friendly staff, amazing scenery and excellent accommodation for guests.

The Avon R? was a fab place to have our wedding the secenery was fab for our pictures Katie was brill she looked after us so well and couldn't do enough for us food was lovely and the houses were fab to would highly recommend this place staff were so nice and the kids loved it they could play in the play ground and we could see them

Absolutely fantastic venue, scenery for pictures was amazing, staff were very attentive and ensured everything ran smoothly on the day, going so far as to bring one of the guests dinners to their accommodation on site, as they were feeling unwell. Rooms and their layout were splendid went out and above my expectation, very accommodating to the children on the day. I would 100% recommend this venue and their staff.

I can only describe the Avon Ri as a hidden gem in Blessington. We were so lucky to have one of the hottest days of the year as our wedding day. Sun, Lakes and amazing food.

Isobel was our wedding coordinator for the Avon Ri and she made our wedding come together and had myself and my new husband so happy with the day and the next one too!

The Avon Ri are more than accommodating they put out all the required decorations that I wanted for the day. Organised everyone where they were supposed to be - this just made the day run so much better and we even had those precious moments together.

I cannot recommend this venue for your wedding the photos with the lakes in the background is just worth it!

Also need to mention the menu - we are food lovers my husband and I, Avon Ri gave us a menu that our guests still talk about today.

We had our wedding in Avon Ri in May 2017. From start to finish we received fantastic service and really felt they listened and gave us the wedding we wanted. We wanted things a bit different from the "norm" and were so delighted with it start to finish. I would have no hesitation in recommending them

Laura who coordinated our wedding talked us through every detail and really paid attention to things that I didn't even know had to be done! She literally thought of everything and advised us extremely well so much so that I'm still receiving phone calls from guests about how great the day was! Mark and all the kitchen staff cooked the best wedding food I've ever had and looked after the vegetarians and celiacs really well, everyone is ranting and raving about the chicken with guiness and cream sauce still! Also a huge thanks to Robbie for looking after everyone into the early hours of the morning and after us every time we came down in the months leading up to the wedding! Every member of staff went above and beyond the entire weekend we were there and I can honestly say I'd do it all again tomorrow and not change one thing. If anyone is in two minds about picking a venue or going with the Avon ri don't be, they gave us by far the best day of our lives and every single person that attended cannot get over the day/venue/staff and I truely mean that!

Most relaxed day the staff were amazing. Got married in the upstairs roomdrinks reception in the bar then had dinner in the restaurant wow I love the food and the room is so different. Then back upstairs for the evening party. It was just so free flowing all planned so well. No waiting around for room to be done up or band to set it. Big thanks to all involved.

We were blessed with the service, professionalism and dedication from the team at Avon R?. From our first visit we felt looked after. Valerie and Laura were with us right down the line, and the benefit of their experience enabled us to avoid any pitfalls for the big day. They gave it to us straight, professional to the last. They were accommodating and attentive, well organised and genuinely interested in making it the best day it could be. They provided solutions, not problems, and that is what providing a service is all about! I would recommend Laura, Valerie and all of the friendly staff to anyone.



The food was exquisite and Martin (Head Chef) was very thorough and committed. He insists that quality must be consistent for all guests, and this was certainly the case on the day. Having the food just right is so important, and we were delighted with both the service and the food itself. Excellent.



As a venue we couldn't have asked for better. The houses are perfect for guests, spacious and fully kitted out. The bars were well stocked and manned. There was no consideration required regarding noise level, as there were no sleeping guests above us, as would be the case in many hotels. We partied on late into the night! The surroundings and views are stunning and it's a very child-friendly resort.



So don't hesitate folks. Have your wedding reception at the Avon R?. You will be well looked after in a stunning location with your nearest and dearest happily accommodated within walking distance!

From the first day we walked into Avon Ri we were blown by not only the stunning views but the hospitality of all the staff. Everybody made such an effort and we knew this was the place for us. Valerie thank you so much for all your advice and help. It really made our Wedding stress free knowing everything was being looked after by you and your team. The Wedding Day was more than what we could have ever dreamed it could be. Our family and friends are still taking about the most amazing meal they ever had. We knew after the wedding tasting that Chef Martin's cooking would ?Wow? everybody and it done just that. Avon Ri will always have a special place in our hearts.

We had both our Wedding Ceremony & Reception at Avon Ri. The location is
just spectacular, the food was amazing and the service and care we got from
Valerie and the team was just brilliant right from our very first meeting up
until the wedding was over. Every detail was taken care of including a
fantastic BBQ the following day for all our guests who all stayed on a
2ndnight! Nothing was too much trouble and Valerie had everything under
control right from the start. Our guests raved about the food in fact they
still talk about it, Martin is a wonderful chef who certainly knows how to
put on a spread! The reception was so much fun and Avon Ri even provided
babysitters allowing all of our friends to dance on until the wee hours!

One of the things we loved the most was having the whole wedding in one
location so handy and great for all our guests particularly as we had a
large group of friends and family from Australia & UK. Oh and the backdrop
for all our photos is just wonderful and absolutely another favourite! Great
memories from a great day & we can't wait to come back soon.
