Married on 18th Dec 2020
My husband and I were married in The Clermont on the 18/12/2021 and what a wonderful day it was. Like many couples, we had planned our wedding to take place in May 2020 in a castle venue with a guest list of over 150 people - Covid 19 had other ideas. Having rescheduled our wedding what seemed like 10 times, we eventually decided that we wanted to go ahead with reduced numbers and gave ourselves just 10 weeks to reorganise an entirely new wedding day!

We decided on a beautiful local chapel venue - Woodside Chapel in Castlebellingham and were looking for a venue nearby for our reception. The Clermont, a restauant on the seafront had recently underwent an incredible transformation and we decided to approach them to see if they would consider hosting our reception. From the moment we met with Elizabeth, the restaurant manager/wedding coordinator (/fairy godmother!), everything became a breeze.

Downstairs is a trendy and beautifully designed bistro whereas upstairs, you'll find the elegant chairman's room boasting a luxury tasting menu. Elizabeth guided us through the day hosting our welcome drinks and canapes downstairs on the outdoor terrace (covered in), followed with the main meal upstairs in the Chairman's room. The standard of food and drinks is beyond anything I have experienced at a wedding. They had wonderful options and incredible combinations of flavours. Also, anything we requested, our wishes were their command! For us, I loved the style and the decor of the venue, it was just stunning and matched everything we had wanted.

When you have been through the experience of disappointment with your wedding being cancelled so many times, we found that the Clermont made us grateful it all happened this way. Any request we had, they made it work and the process of organising a wedding in such a short space of time was made easy.

We were treated like absolute royalty and they could not have been more attentive towards our families and friends. My father has a terminal illness and they minded him so well and made sure we were all having the time of our lives! Elizabeth also made sure to give my husband and I time to ourselves for a few moments following the drinks reception before the partying ensued, which I thought was a very thoughtful addition to the day. It's little things like this you remember. The standard of the food is really something else - the chef ensured we were really happy with everything too. All of our guests were talking about this the next day! Just to note, we also had our day 2 celebration in this venue as we were so happy with their service.

All in all, it was the perfect intimate venue. It combined luxury, warmth, friendliness, value and most importantly - fun. We had such a perfect time at our wedding and the day was as stress free as a wedding can be! Equally, we spent the day together surrounded by the most important people in our lives. I often hear people say that they spend very little time with their spouse on their wedding day - the very opposite was true for us! The intimacy and closeness of the space is perfectly balanced. There is also enough room to dance and we certainly didn't even feel like we were hosting a small wedding.

We loved our wedding day and wish we could do it all over again. You won't be disappointed should you chose to celebrate your day with the team at the Clermont. Thank you again x
