We had a special day in Fota, everything came together so perfectly! Our family and friends have all been raving about the venue and the service from the staff ever since.
The venue is incredible, from the moment you drive in the gates to the moment you leave, it feels magical! The Smith Barry Suite is fantastic, it looks amazing and provides such a great setting with beautiful gardens and stunning reception area. The grounds were immaculate, and any guests who stayed in the rooms or the lodges were all treated to a 5 star service.
The most important element to the day is how incredible the staff are. Everyone we dealt with in the months leading up to the wedding and on the big day itself was a true professional. Nessa, in the weddings team, was our main point of contact and could not have been more helpful throughout. She is so experienced, which really makes a difference - she thought of every little detail, things we never would have thought to ask, which really makes a difference to the smooth running on the day. No request was too big or too small and every detail was taken care of. The whole wedding department are superb, they are always quick to respond and are on top of every detail.
Jenna and her team on the night were excellent, they gave all of our guests a real 5 star experience, and the food was spectacular!
Last but certaintly not least to mention is John Coleman, the Concierge Manager. John is an amazing professional, and person. He is right at the top of his game, we've never experienced service like it. Any time we visited Fota in the build up to the wedding, John was there to answer questions and give advice or share a joke. On the weekend of the wedding, he could not have been more supportive, always checking in to make sure we were enjoying ourselves and taking care of anything we needed, sometimes before we even knew we needed it! The day can be a bit of a blur, and it defintely goes by too quickly, but John recognises this and really helped to make the day special, and build in little moments for us to take a breather which we were really grateful for looking back. One story that sums up the level of service came just after we arrived at Fota on the day of the wedding. Kate mentioned (months before the wedding!) that she was a coeliac and loves these macaroons from a local bakery. We considered having instead of a wedding cake, but as it happened, the kitchen were excellent and were able to cater for her diet perfectly so we decided not to go extenally. John banked this information, and on the morning of the wedding he swung by the bakery and picked up the macaroons for her. When we arrived he had them on a plate as a surprise. It was such a lovely moment that stood out, in a day of amazing moments, and is just one of lots of little stories we have from guests the staff in Fota going above and beyond to make our day so special!
We cannot thank all of the staff enough, we just wish we could do it all over again!

I think the Macaroons have become Fota famous by now, we're all on the way to the local bakery for a taste! FOTA Island Resort was a stunningly beautiful venue to get married in. We had the ceremony and the afters in the hotel and I couldn’t praise the hotel and its staff enough. Every single member of the staff were amazing to deal with and our wedding coordinator, Danielle, was an absolute joy to work with. The staff were so obliging for everything, allowing us to visit the hotel as many times as we wanted and allowing us to drop down decor bits in the week leading up to the date. While the staff were willing to set up everything, they were extremely helpful when we wanted to set up our decor ourselves, staying behind to give us whatever aid we needed. Every single one of our guests complimented the staff and the food that was served that day. Guests could not get over the calibre of the food provided or the amount that was given. This venue made our day so special.

Fota was the most incredible venue for our wedding, supported by the most amazing team.
We will be forever grateful for how special they made our wedding day down to the most minute detail.
The venue itself is so incredibly beautiful and we feel so lucky to have had our ceremony as well as our reception in such a special place with a real sense of occasion. We didn't need to go anywhere else for photos as the hotel and grounds are stunning which had the added bonus that we got to enjoy most of our drinks reception! We had to take most of our photos indoors due to the weather but the Fota team kindly granted us access to The Cove restaurant before it opened up which we really appreciated and love the photos we got there.
The meal is always such a big topic of conversation at weddings and "the nicest meal ever" was what all of our guests had to say, we absolutely agree! The service from Jenna and her team was so professional, the food was absolutely exceptional, piping hot and all dietary requirements were catered to so well. Perfection!
From the very first day we met Ali for our viewing, Ali & every single member of the team could not have been more professional or accommodating. Ali & Fota made an incredible first impression and continued at the highest standard right up to and after our wedding day.
Our coordinator Roberta was amazing! Not only did she support and guide us every step of the way, she made suggestions and gave advice about details that never would have crossed our minds but made such a difference. She even managed to get the Ryder Cup on a screen at our drinks reception when we asked for that as we knew some of our guests would like to watch it.
Roberta made so much time for us, she was lovely to deal with and was genuinely so happy and excited for us which really meant a lot! On the day itself, Roberta was across absolutely everything. We can see her in the background of so many of our photos keeping an eye on it all and making sure every detail was perfect. Thank you so much Roberta and all of the wedding team for your excellent support!
Concierge John was such a special part of our wedding day. From greeting the bridal car, driving us to take photos on the grounds, making sure we had some canapés during the drinks reception and showing us up to the bridal suite when the bell rang for a few minutes to ourselves, he was there to guide and advise us every step of the way and is a real standout memory from our wedding day.
Fota looked after all of our other suppliers on the day just as well as they looked after us.
So many commented on how fantastic and accommodating the Fota team were to them.
Fota had staffed our wedding so well (we remember noticing this on the day), it was clear to see how much effort all of the team put into making sure everything was perfect and it absolutely paid off.

We got Married in Fota Island Resort on the 29th of September. From start to finish it was amazing!! The staff, Venue, food, and service are amazing at this hotel! Nessa & Roberta in the wedding team took all the stress out of the planning they were extremely helpful and professional. All the guests on the day commented on how friendly and helpful all the staff at the hotel were.john and Donna were amazing on the day also and kept everything running smoothly and panic free it was such a weight off our shoulders that they had everything planned and timed so well. The food for the wedding was absolutely beautiful.. another big talking point with all our guests !! We can't thank the hotel enough for how special they made our day for us. Best wishes. We had the best day in Fota, everyone is still talking about how amandine everything was the food, the service, the room, it was all spectacular. The customer service we received on the lead up was amazing in particular from Nessa, she went above and beyond to ensure everything was arranged perfectly for us, and on the day was there for full support and ensuring everything ran smoothly, along with Concierge John.

Ali and the team were so fantastic and made the experience stress free! The staff made the day amazing, they were so helpful and nothing was an issue, the venue itself so beautiful and can cater for all needs! ?? our residents bar ended around 3am which I thought was a little early however I think that may have been related to a guest in the hotel complaining!

I honestly don't know where to start except by saying Fota Island Resort is absolutely incredible. Our wedding day was amazing, and I can honestly say everything was perfect.
From the planning to the actual day Fota staff were so pleasant to liaise, with in particular our Wedding Coordinator Nessa. She had such a good rapport and was so accommodating to all our requests. She really helped us make our day special.
John, the Concierge Manager was fantastic, and really went above and beyond for us before and on the day. The staff on the day were all amazing and couldn't have done any more for me and my guests. The hotel really accommodated for all of our guests needs, even providing courtesy buses to other hotels. All my guests commented on how friendly and polite every staff member was. I couldn't have asked for better.
The food was delightful. Honestly one of the nicest meals I have had. The hotel catered for all of my guest dietary requirements and again everyone was raving about how good the food was. We had a BBQ at the clubhouse for day two and the food was 10/10 again.
The venue is just amazing. From the gardens to the Smith Barry Room to the Bridal Suite, it is beautiful. Fota well and truly deserve their 5-star rating, from all the little touches with Lily O Brien chocolates and wine in every room to the facilities. I would give it 10 stars ????

We had the most amazing wedding day at Fota Island Resort. We chose to hold both our ceremony and reception in the beautiful Smith Barry Suite. I am so glad that we did as our pictures are absolutely amazing there! The food was incredible. Best of all, every single staff member and the concierge team went out of their way to look after us and ensure we had everything we needed to hand. We had an excellent package which included a lot of variety for the drinks reception (incl Prosecco, beer and a gin bar which was a great hit!) and the food menu selection was very comprehensive. Our wedding coordinator was super helpful and answered all our questions making sure that we were happy with everything at each stage. We couldn't recommend Fota Island enough as a wedding venue.

We celebrated our wedding on July 1st 2023 in Fota Island Resort. From the moment we booked right up to the day itself the process was seamless. Nothing was ever too much to ask for, we met every member of staff prior to or early in the day including the head chef, service manager, wedding co-ordinator and many more so that we knew who to go to if there were any issues, which was very reassuring. I am still to this day hearing compliments about the food and service which was outstanding on the day. We were blessed with the weather so we took our photos on the grounds. This was so helpful as it gave us plenty of time to spend with guests whilst still having beautiful photos. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is planning their wedding.

I couldn't recommend Fota highly enough as a wedding venue. From start to finish we found them so accommodating and helpful and did everything they could to help our day run smoothly. The kitchen was really flexible in helping us put together our menu and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food on the night. All the staff, particularly our wedding coordinator and concierge, were very professional - there was no request too big or too small. The Smith Barry Suite is the perfect backdrop for a great night from the conveniently located drinks reception area, to the beautiful garden for photos, and the room itself including the large dance floor. 10/10 would recommend

The wedding team at Fota were absolutely amazing to deal with! Any query we had, it was answered so quickly and efficiently, it really assisted us in the planning process. The team were so professional in every manner in the run up to the day & on the day itself and were able to give us tips on dealing with the photographer/videographer in timings/where to get photos taken which really assisted us in getting the most out of the day without missing the drinks reception. The food was out of this world and all our guests were telling us it was the best wedding meal they'd had which we were delighted to hear! We were so happy to pick Fota for our wedding and would recommend to anyone to have their wedding there.

I have nothing but positive things to say about Fota as a wedding venue. We were emailing back and forth for a year and I was never left waiting for a reply. On the day of the wedding, Ali was all over the day and it really took the responsibility away from us which is all you want. Everyone at the wedding said how fabulous the venue was for a wedding and we all had a ball.

Aoife and Ali were a pleasure to deal with throughout the process. Nothing we asked for was too big or small. Communication was excellent throughout by both phone and email where questions were answered very fast.
The day itself went seamlessly from photos taken on the stunning grounds to the reception area where the guests enjoyed the canapés (as did we with the specific plates they reserved for us when showing us the ball room and getting pictures of the cake)
The food was delicious on the day and the honeymoon suite was also terrific. Our day 2 was in the clubhouse and this was also fantastic.
We are having our free anniversary stay shortly and are looking forward to reliving what was certainly the best day of our lives. Couldn't recommend the place enough!

Fota Island Resort provided the perfect venue for our summer wedding. From the first time that we visited to view the hotel in 2019, right up to our wedding (with a few visits in between) the hotel staff were very welcoming and accommodating.
In the lead up, the wedding team were always very helpful and answered any questions and requests that we had promptly.
On the day, our guests were full of compliments on the service provided and the hotel as a whole.
We had the most amazing time and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Fota Island Resort to any couple that are considering it as a wedding venue.

We were blown away by the set up Fota had for weddings. The grounds, the clubhouse for Day 2 BBQs, the refurbished function room, this hotel is set up for success in handling weddings.
They know how to do a job right and do it well. There was no doubt in our minds after viewing the hotel and chatting with Aoife, that this was the hotel for us. Aoife was a great support during the planning stages and we even got access to a wedding planning website called moposa that was good for reminding me about things I had to look at!
Every single member of staff was absolutely phenomenal. From concierge, the week of the wedding when we were dropping off decorations etc., to reception when arranging rooms for guests, to bar staff and clubhouse staff for catering to all our guests needs. It was unbelievable to care and attention given to us all.
Even the wedding tasting session was fantastic, they were so helpful to arrange anything that we wanted in particular and the selection of food is spectacular.
The drinks reception room was decorated with all the bits I had arranged and it look spectacular. The bridal suite, was fabulous and we got some lovely chocolates/bubble when we arrived.
I felt like a celebrity for a weekend down in Fota from the moment we arrived to a red carpet, nothing was too big or small. They were so good to cater to our requests especially when we had a little girl to look after in terms of cot/food, babysitter etc. Everything was well looked after.
Aoife was great to help us arrange Spa/golf bookings for ourselves and guests. We even had a post dinner dance group display arranged, and the hotel were spectacular in ensuring this ran smoothly.
Every guest has commented on how helpful all of your staff were, glasses were barely empty before they were being topped up, crumbs post the meal were even scraped from the table. Truly top class service!
We cannot wait to come back next year to celebrate our anniversary. No words will every cover how much we enjoyed our weekend was or how grateful we are to you for this.
They know how to do a job right and do it well. There was no doubt in our minds after viewing the hotel and chatting with Aoife, that this was the hotel for us. Aoife was a great support during the planning stages and we even got access to a wedding planning website called moposa that was good for reminding me about things I had to look at!
Every single member of staff was absolutely phenomenal. From concierge, the week of the wedding when we were dropping off decorations etc., to reception when arranging rooms for guests, to bar staff and clubhouse staff for catering to all our guests needs. It was unbelievable to care and attention given to us all.
Even the wedding tasting session was fantastic, they were so helpful to arrange anything that we wanted in particular and the selection of food is spectacular.
The drinks reception room was decorated with all the bits I had arranged and it look spectacular. The bridal suite, was fabulous and we got some lovely chocolates/bubble when we arrived.
I felt like a celebrity for a weekend down in Fota from the moment we arrived to a red carpet, nothing was too big or small. They were so good to cater to our requests especially when we had a little girl to look after in terms of cot/food, babysitter etc. Everything was well looked after.
Aoife was great to help us arrange Spa/golf bookings for ourselves and guests. We even had a post dinner dance group display arranged, and the hotel were spectacular in ensuring this ran smoothly.
Every guest has commented on how helpful all of your staff were, glasses were barely empty before they were being topped up, crumbs post the meal were even scraped from the table. Truly top class service!
We cannot wait to come back next year to celebrate our anniversary. No words will every cover how much we enjoyed our weekend was or how grateful we are to you for this.

I don't even know where to begin?.
From when we had our very first meeting with Fota, that have gone above and beyond for us.
We started off with Aoife as our contact person and she remained professional with everything. There wasn't a query that she couldn't handle and nothing was stress. Due to unforeseen changes, Michaela was assigned as our contact and the standard with Michaela remained the exact same. every meeting was made very personal and again there wasn't anything Fota couldn't accommodate with.
We were made feel so important anytime we visited. The meal tasting was amazing. we had one waiter for the evening and he brought professionalism and it was well received (unfortunately I didn't get his name).
We even had one query with the ingredients and the chef, Cedric, happened to be free at the time so he personally popped over to our table to discuss an alternative option. We were so appreciative.
Our wedding ran so smoothly considering our timing wasn't the best with the chaos of Covid around us. Fota didnt bat an eyelid and did everything in their power to ensure that our day was stress free.
I can't thank them enough for all their effort. It is definitely 5 star service, if not more. We are so glad we went with them.

Where to start!! Just the biggest thank you for your help in organising one of the most important and special days for Alice and myself. We can't thank you enough Micheala for your help, it was way above our expectations and we are only probably coming back down off the high of it now. The attention to detail you showed made a huge difference and didn't go unnoticed. The small things were the big things.

Thank you so much to the team at Fota Island Resort. The service was exceptional and there's was nothing too big or too small that they could do for us. We had a wedding of 65 guests after three postponments since April 2020. The wedding coordinator Aoife, was so understanding and helpful, we were really put at ease. The venue was beautifully decorated and the food was exceptional. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed the wedding day and the beautiful BBQ in the marquee in the Clubhouse on the second day. We recently got married down in Fota, couldn't recommend Aoife and all the staff that looked after myself and Mark and all the guests that evening... There are really no words to describe Fota Island. We booked it knowing we would have a magical wedding - but then COVID hit and everything kept chopping and changing (as with all couples during this time). At no point did the wedding team make us feel that we could not have the wedding we dreamed of, and how right they were!
They were on hand at every opportunity taking the majority of stress away from us. For every problem that appeared, they had a solution.
For the wedding itself, we literally cannot say anything as we are still speechless how amazing it turned out. For the amount of last minute changes, we barely knew of the logistical issues faced by the hotel. No request was too big or too small for what we needed, and the enthusiasm of the entire hotel to host us was really was felt by every guest at the wedding.
If you are thinking of having your wedding in Fota, stop thinking and just do it! You will not be disappointed.
Thank you for everything Aoife and team for giving us a day we will never forget, we are itching to get back down!!

The whole team at Fota were so helpful and friendly at all times. They made planning a wedding during Covid as easy as possible and were always so quick to reply if we ever had a question. The food was beautiful and everyone complimented the quality of the food and service they received on the day. The hotel itself is stunning and the drinks reception was perfect for us. The indoor drinks reception room was lovely and the garden out the back was beautiful for during the drinks reception too. The wedding team, Aoife in particular, couldn't have done more to make our day extra special and I couldn't recommend the hotel more!

I had never been to the Fota Island Resort, and knew nothing about it, so we said it was worth a trip. The first thing we both noticed on arrival, was the atmosphere. Staff and managers seemed to have friendly banter, and there was an instantly relaxing atmosphere. We were professionally greeted by Aoife Kelly, our wedding coordinator. This might sound impulsive, but it was at this point that we had already decided that Fota Island was going to be our wedding venue. We're long enough dealing with hotels to know at first sight, when they have it right!

I'll skip to the wedding day: when we arrived, we were instantly met with the genuine atmosphere I have already mentioned; an instant reminder of why we picked the Fota Island Resort: Aoife and one of her colleagues arrived to the car to escort us in, and all of the cleaning staff were leaning over each other to see us, but trying not to be seen. We called them out, and their well wishes meant more to us than anything that could have been planned by the hotel. This is one of our lasting memories from our wedding day at Fota Island Resort, and it's something that won't happen unless staff are happy at work; the true meaning of hospitality.

We had our wedding reception in Fota Resort on 11/12/2020. This was our third attempt to get married this year. Originally we had planned for a vey large wedding in July then we scaled right back to 50 guests for Oct. Both times, we felt the need to postpone due to Covid 19 restrictions. In Nov, we decided to go for it and plan for December. Each time our plans changed, our Co-ordinator Aoife supported and encouraged us. Initially, we were excited to hold our reception in the newly refurbished Smith Barry Suite. As the months went by, it was obvious that this room would appear too big for our reception. As the numbers of guests was reduced to 25 in Dec, Aoife showed us the Cove in Fota Resort. It was perfect for an intimate reception. The room was set up beautifully with four round tables. Background music was played for the evening as live music was not permitted due to level 3 restrictions. The Christmas decor all throughout the hotel really added to the occasion. The bridal suite in the hotel is also amazing. We enjoyed spa treatments prior to our wedding and this were so relaxing and of a high standard. We had a section of the Amber Lounge reserved for our drinks reception. Our guests had lots of space to relax and to sample the various canopies and bubbles! The evening of our food tasting was so much fun. We had our own personalised menu and the chef Tomas spoke to us about each course. Nothing was too much trouble and we adapted our menu to suit various dietary requirements. The food and wine for our wedding reception meal was delicious and this was echoed by our guests. The hotel grounds and driveway enabled us to capture some wonderful, memorable photographs.
Our guests have complimented the venue on several occasions saying how comfortable and safe they felt throughout the day.

I was thrilled to have been able to go ahead with my wedding this October 2020 with the help of of the Fota events team. We hired the beautiful Cove room which was recommended to us, it is a beautiful private dining area, and it was decorated beautifully. The service team in Fota was truly amazing, each person was actively listening and extremely attentive to us and our party. The food was to die for, I could not find the words to describe the wonderful taste and fantastic presentation of our amazing dining experience. We got a beautiful red carpet welcome with the Fota team all spruced up to greet us. I was surprised to learn we were the first wedding of 2020 in Fota. We had an exceptionally small and modest event, however, we were made feel like we were truly special. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would have been in Fota for my wedding reception, we are delighted, we chose fota, and thrilled that they catered for us and our family in a truly memorable way. The grounds to the front of the resort was a perfect scenic backdrop to our photographs. When the sun was out that day, it felt like we were in another country. I highly recommend Fota resort for your wedding celebrations no matter how big or small. Thank you again to the Fota team, it will forever hold a special place in my heart.

Ciara and the wedding team at Fota were excellent and lead to us having a very stress free wedding day. Nothing was ever an issue and they came back to our emails and queries promptly. After a memorable proposal, we just knew it had it be Fota Island Resort for the wedding reception. Valentines night was our first night staying there, but the next morning we met some of the team and checked out the function room. We knew from the beginning they?d do a great job. Ciara Greene was our wedding coordinator and she gave us the best advice and support. We really enjoyed dealing with Ciara, nothing was too much trouble.
The hotel reception was everything we hoped for and so much more. Ciara and all the team did a super job. The food was outstanding and everyone seemed to really enjoy the day.

We got married in fota golf club.we found the golf club perfect for what we wanted we had 120 guests .The food was beautiful the service was exceptional.

We could not recommend Fota Island Resort highly enough. From the moment we met Katie our wedding coordinator nothing was too big a deal. We had our wedding at Fota Island Resort and could not recommend it highly enough. The team were really engaged in the planning from the initial consultation right up to the day itself. Everything was taken care of right down to the smallest of details.
The wedding co-ordinator ensured that the cake, band and photographer were all looked after in the lead up to the wedding and on the day as well.
The catering team was excellent, and we had so many people compliment the food and service provided.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Fota Island Resort as a wedding destination.

All the staff were amazing in helping us prepare for our day and on the day they were exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble and every need was catered for.
All of our guests commented on how delicious the food was and that the service was flawless.
We also had our post wedding party BBQ at the Club house in Fota, the setting here is beautiful and once again the food was amazing. Unfortunately our planned entertainment let us down on the day, upon telling the manager of the Club house this, alternative entertainment was arranged by Fota and the musician arrived within 30 minutes. Exceptional service.

From the second we walked into Fota, we knew it was the venue for us and it just got better from there. This is mainly due to our fantastic wedding co-ordinators, Katie & PatricIa. They made us feel special & checked every box on our wish-list! We were worried it would be difficult to organise a wedding from England but they couldn't have made it easier. They always met us when we were in Cork, gave us regular e-mail updates and answered all of our questions no matter how daft. A highlight for us was the menu tasting. We made this extra special by bringing parents along and ended up staying until nearly closing time!
On the Big Day everything was amazing. They pulled out all the stops to ensure everything went as planned. They co-ordinated with all our wedding suppliers seamlessly and our only role was to enjoy ourselves. All of our guests raved about the food (especially the creme br?l?e!) and the stand out compliment was the first class service.

Patricia was our wedding coordinator and we couldn't have asked for a more professional, friendly, helpful and wonderful coordinator. Every time we met with her to discuss the wedding of our dreams so was on the ball, very realistic with her advice and made us feel like we were the only couple on her mind. She has great hints and tips and was so great for making sure every need of ours were met (I am a coeliac and I felt fully confident about what I was eating and was sure I wouldn't be sick on the day). The hotel itself was a beautiful setting and the staff were attentive and prompt. While Patricia was out on maternity leave, Katie took over for a few months and she was just a great as Patricia and passed on all of the updates we made in the months leading up to our wedding.

On the day of the wedding everything went really well, we were delighted with it. The food was fantastic and the service was brilliant, we had loads of compliments on both. I think one big difference between Fota and other places we've been at weddings is the amount and quality of the waiting staff, they were excellent. The residents bar stayed going well in to the morning too which was great!
The BBQ was great too and we were well looked after, one small complaint is that the wedding cake never made it down to the Golf club, by the time we realised it wasn't there people had already left the food area so we left it off. Anyway we were pretty stuffed after the BBQ so no big deal.

They say planning a wedding is one of the hardest things you can do. Not with the help of Patricia Murray and the team. Nothing seemed a chore and Patricia always went above and beyond to help, not only on the day but the months leading up to the big day.
The venue as a whole was beautiful. A lot of our guests travelled from the UK or other parts of Ireland and we were all welcomed and looked after throughout our entire stay.
From the reception staff to the concierge to the bar staff we could not praise them enough.
We received wonderful feedback from family and friends about the the food and service.
Could we have chose a better venue for our wedding- absolutely not!! We cannot wait to return.

We married at Fota Island earlier this month, and quite simply had the greatest 4 days of our lives.
The hotel staff are of the highest standard in the country, I have no doubts about that ? from Paddy and the team at the concierge desk, through to Will and the restaurant staff, Tomasz and the banqueting team and the room service teams ? everyone always happy to chat and help ? not once were we met with ?No, we can't do that? ? the answer was always positive ? And it made our 4 day stay so much more relaxed.
Patricia Murray and all the wedding team are in a different league - their focus on the customer, attention to detail, empathy and patience is of a level I have never seen before and it made for a very smooth and easy process of planning our wedding day. They never let on that any of our demands were totally outrageous, and they always had the right answer to keep the show on the road.
We held a 'day 2' BBQ in the golf clubhouse and it was every bit as good as the big day in itself. The setting on the terrace overlooking the 18th green was spectacular. The food prepared by the chefs was out of this world!
Would absolutely recommend Fota Island for the perfect wedding.

We were so happy to celebrate our wedding day at Fota Island resort, it was an easy decision from the first time we arrived and met with the wedding team. The lead up to big day was very relaxing as Patricia was very accommodating and supportive to how we wanted the day to go and that made everything much easier for us. We can't thank Patricia and the staff at Fota enough for making the day as special as it was, the day flowed so well and that was thanks to how organized the team are at Fota. We received such positive feedback from friends on family on the venue, the food throughout the day and how friendly the staff were! Leading up to the wedding day and the day itself was quite straight forward. However one issue arose on the day. The car which Fota provided was not there to bring us back from the church. All our guest were gone we ended up in bestmans car and met wedding car on road and swapped over. We got on with our day but felt we never received an apology, felt like we were blamed. I felt like it was covered up and top management may not even be aware there was any issues!!!

A simple couple who never thought we would reach the heights of a 5 start resort, we can honestly say the little details and personal touches made it all the more special and memorable. Despite signing off on the table plan twice (in writing and in person) there were problems with it on our big day, resulting in the brides brother being without a seat. Not exactly the quality of service you expect when paying Fotas prices.
The wedding planning team changed a bit from our date of booking to the wedding date. Sometimes it was frustrating not having one main point of contact.
Despite this I would recommend Fota to any future couples. The food on the day was amazing, I just feel it is nice to have some honest reviews out there. So if you don't mind having to chase up on any emails/queries then this place should definitely be on your list!

From the first day that we visited Fota we were treated with great effecient service, courtesy and enthusiasm . Their wedding packages were so comprehensive and even allowed for us to tailor aspects of our package . No request was too big even up to the day. All dietary and special requests were welcomed and delivered! As many of our guests stayed for two nights they all raved about the service and attention to detail . Our day was amazing from food decor, friendliness, ataff manner and planning everything was very impressive . Management and staff and fota went beyond the morm to ensure we had a place to stay and to get us to the airport during storm ophelia ! Couldnt recommend fota enough The quality of the treatment we received was matched by the quality of the foodand meal service. It exceeded its billing as a 5 star reaort.

The Fota wedding team were amazing to work with, no request was too great. They were extremely flexible & supportive in the build up to our special day. We particularly enjoyed working with our allocated wedding planner Katie Sheehan who was phenomenal. The overall service provided on our wedding day itself was second to none as was the accommodation. We just wanted to say thanks so much for everything you and the team in Fota did for us in the lead up to the big day and at the weekend. It could not have run any smoother. We had the best weekend of our lives.
From helping us sort out 'Cake Gate' to keeping us on schedule on the day you made it all so easy and stress free.
Everyone had a great weekend, they all couldn't get over the food and the service they said it was top class! Nothing was too much trouble for anybody and it was very much appreciated.
The setting for the BBQ the next day was just gorgeous the team there did a beautiful job setting it up and the food was delicious again.
We were so lucky with the weather that it just topped everything off nicely.

We dealt with the loveliest wedding planner, Patricia Murray, who was able to guide/advise us in all aspects of the planning leading up to the big day. During our time there, 4 days!, the hotel manager, Brendan Comerford & staff, were absolutely amazing with regard to the service provided for us and our 220 guests. What an amazing day!! Our wedding planner Rachel was outstanding and provided help every step of the way. Our wedding was in the Golf Club and it was a beautiful venue with special touches and surprises for us as a couple but also our guests. The Golf Club wedding team were always on hand from arrival to late a night The food was outstanding & Bart as our personal waiter was very attentive. The location ensured that it was a romantic and intimate wedding that our 70 guests thought was very special. The hotel bedroom was gorgeous and the special breakfast service the following morning was perfect. We could not rate the hotel highly enough as they provided professional people to assist, their service was top class and the facilities and food were A1 perfect. Thanks to all the team. The Fota experience for us was so far above and beyond our expectations. We traveled from overseas to get married with a small group of our nearest & dearest. We were fairly relaxed about the whole day but the coordinators made it totally stress free as they were so knowledgeable and responsive to what we wanted! They treated us and our guests like royalty for beginning to end, they put so many thoughtful touches to make us feel really special! The attentiveness of the staff, the quality of the food & the value for money was incredible! We have never experienced anything like it and all of the guests keep raving about how much they enjoyed the day:)

We had FOTA down to 2 hotels in our venue choice for our wedding. My partner wanted the other, I had doubts so we had Sunday Lunch in both and once my partner walked out of FOTA that Sunday evening, she told me we had the winner just there. Everything from the warmth of the hotel when you walk through the front door, to meeting staff, to ordering food or drinks and just sitting down be it in the couches off reception, the new bar area or in the function room is sublime. The bedrooms are even up to scratch and in general, this hotel has it all. You would be mad not to have this venue as a choice, some may say its not cheap but also in my opinion for what we got, its not expensive. We would have paid more and we do not say this lightly. It was just super and a day we will never forget. A band can make a wedding but also you need warm staff, you need attentive staff and great food and you will get all of this and more, at FOTA.

My husband & I had our reception here in Nov 2015 &, I can honestly say that we were just simply delighted with the service that both ourselves & our guests received. Absolutely nothing was too much for Patricia, Nicole & their team & I am still, nearly 6 months later, receiving compliments from our guests! I would most definitely recommend Fota Island Resort as a wedding venue to future couples. It deserves, in our opinion, 5 stars for every aspect! Our guests especially commented on the simply excellent quality of the food, most saying that they were just blown away that Fota offered the same level of quality to every guest & not just serving the best to the bridal party itself. We both appreciated so much how Fota looked after, not only ourselves on our wedding day, but also treated each of our guests with that same 5 star service!

We got married a few weeks ago at Fota Island Resort. When we got engaged, we knew that we would be emigrating in a few months and that would mean doing a lot of organising from abroad. As such, one of the key criteria when selecting a venue was a place with a superb degree of service in all aspects - from the wedding coordinator to housekeeping and everyone in between.
From the outset, we found the staff at Fota to be incredibly helpful and accommodating. Our preferred date was provisionally booked when we first checked, but they emailed us within days to let us know that it had become available. Relying on email is always tricky, but Fota didn't let us down there either. Responses were always prompt and helpful. Patricia Murray, the coordinator for our wedding, was so helpful and calming and reassuring! A special thanks goes out to the banqueting manager, Will, for making us feel like the most important guests in the world during our stay, and to the general manager, Brendan, for looking after us overall.
The room is gorgeous and spacious, and the outdoor area is perfect if the weather allows it! I highly recommend asking about the customised draping for the room from Butler's - the wedding coordinator can guide you there. It really lights up the room!
Finally, the food is outstanding at Fota. There's no dry beef or turkey and ham on the menu. Instead you get luxurious, delicious and creative food that's worth every penny. We got so many compliments from guests about the food!
All in all, I'd recommend Fota to anyone. I wouldn't change anything about my day!

Staff were so professional & made every effort to ensure that we had an amazing day. No request was an issue. All our friends were looked after. The only issue was the couple married from the day before would not vacate the bridal suite so we had 15 minutes getting my dress on & taking photos before the ceremony started.

Wedding co-ordinating team were excellent at organising our wedding and were helpful throughout the planning process. All the staff were calm and professional on the day and co-ordination of the dinner service was fantastic. We both really enjoyed the spa facilities on the next morning also.

We got married at Christmas in Fota. To say it was magical is an absolute understatement. The setting, food, staff and bridal suite were all amazing. Our wedding coordinator, Hazel O' Connell, couldn't have been friendlier, more enthusiastic or more accommodating. We loved our meetings in the run up to the wedding! I would recommend and have been recommending this hotel to everyone. As I mentioned earlier our wedding day in Fota was truly "magical".

It was a fantastic day! I am happy we picked this hotel! Wedding team did a great job! It could not be better. We had our wedding with our own traditions back from home and wedding adviser Hazel organized it all better than it would be back at home! Sid, restaurant manager, very very big professionalist in the job he is doing. He looked after each guest and anything I needed was there within a second! We had great valuable experience here and would recommend it to anyone!

Had our wedding on New years eve and it was superb. The staff were excellent,as well as very friendly and efficient at what they do. Fota Island resort has the best wedding co-ordinator around. Fair play to Hazel for putting everything together for us on the night. She was so easy to deal with. The venue looked amazing when everything came together on the night for us. The food served on the night was to die for. It was cooked to perfection. We could not find any faults with this venue for our wedding and thanks to everyone involved in making our wedding a one to remember.

My husband and I got married in Fota Island Resort on the 18th of October 2014. From start to finish we had the most amazing experience. Hazel the wedding co-ordinator is a pleasure to deal with. She went above and beyond and made planning a wedding so much easier.
Rory the manager on duty, looked after us incredible well on the wedding day. All our guests commented on the amazing food, the service was exceptional and the attentiveness the staff gave was exceptional.
We then had a second day in the golf club on the Sunday. Again, service and staff were incredible. We had spa treatments on the Monday and these treatments were the nicest I have had. A lot of our guests got their hair done in the hair salon over the few days and this we found very convenient. Thank you for the best day of our lives Fota Island Resort.

"On our first visit to Fota Island Resort we knew this was the perfect location, it offered everything we were looking for. From the beginning dealing with Susan and Hazel was a pleasure, we were offered plenty of time to meet with them each time we visited. It was clear how professional and expert they were in their roles.
On the lead up to the day, all our questions and requests were answered without hesitation. On the day, we, our families and all our guests were looked after so professionally, we couldn't have asked for more. Our meal was outstanding, the food really was out of this world! ?We had a wonderful time from the moment we arrived at the hotel on Friday afternoon before the reception to when we left the following day. Aishling Lambe met us as we arrived and ensured that everything was arranged and set up just as we wanted including photographs, reception seating, etc. The golf club looked perfect and just as we had hoped.
The level of professionalism, helpfulness, good humour and courtesy displayed by Aishling, Sid and the catering staff was exceptional and remarked upon by several of our guests.
The honeymoon suite was also excellent.
Thanks very much to everyone for all of their help in making this a great day. Everything was as we would have wished. I would very heartily recommend (and have already) Fota Resort as a wonderful wedding venue.

We were married at Fota Island Golf Club in Dec 2013. We visited a number of venues and decided on Fota having attended their Wedding Fair. The diversity of the golf club and the impressive menu made Fota the place for us. We dealt with Susan and Will during the planning stages, a relaxed but professional approach ensured a stress free run up to the big day.
We enjoyed making use of the various spaces in the golf club rather than being confined to one room. Our ceremony was held in the function room, we then moved upstairs to the mezzanine area for our drinks reception while the function room was set up for dinner, the evening reception was held in the lounge area.
Although it was a stormy winters day, the atmosphere in the golf club was wonderfully warm and cosy. Will (the manager) and his team did a wonderful job and everything ran super smoothly. The venue was beautifully decorated for Christmas and Will was very accommodating in allowing my sister to put some finishing touches to the decor to further enhance the atmosphere. The meal was delicious, beautifully presented, hot, plentiful and the waiting staff carried off the service with an air of sophistication. We received many compliments from our guests on both the meal and the venue. Most importantly we enjoyed a magical day in warm, cosy, elegant surroundings and we're delighted we chose Fota Island Golf Club as our venue. We wouldn't change one thing about our day, except maybe to enjoy it over and over again..

We stayed for 3 nights for a family staycation in August. My eldest daughter (4) wanted to stay forever! The pool was great, the room was beautiful and the food delicious and right next door to the wildlife park... highly recommended!!!

there was no point looking anywhere else. Nothing else would compare to the beautiful
surroundings in the resort and the welcome we received from the staff in Fota. Once we had

relax and enjoy the build-up to the big day. Everything from the guidance we received for
the menu planning to the walk through of timelines for the day, were very helpful.
Throughout the whole process, it seemed no request was too big or no question was too
small, Susan did everything she could to ensure that we were happy with the preparations
and made sure that any bespoke requests would be facilitated by the Resort.
We had a lot of out of town guests and it made a big difference to have the helpful
reservation staff provide contact information for hairdressers, as well as ensuring all room
bookings went smoothly. Again, things we really hoped not to have to worry about as our
wedding day approach.
The wedding day itself could not have gone any better, the relaxed atmosphere in the Resort
helped create a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere among our guests and allowed us to enjoy
the day care-free. The service on the day was better than we could ever have hoped for,

was most remarkable given the volume of guests the staff were catering for.
