The Heritage Killenard

Myself and my husband got married in the heritage in august and it was the best decision we ever made. The staff were so professional and nothing was to much for them. The food was beautiful and more importantly, the timing between the courses was great. They left just a nice gap and everyone couldn’t get over how amazing the meal was! They are so lovely to deal with and the hotel itself is just beautiful. Aisling Brereton was our wedding Co-ordinator and she went above and beyond for us, she was only an email away and always greeted us with a smile anytime we met her. I would highly recommend the heritage for any engaged couples, you won’t be disappointed!

We had the most perfect wedding day at The Heritage. Our ceremony and reception was all based in the hotel. We can't thank Louise and Aisling enough for all their help planning the big day! They were so lovely and professional, and they were always there to answer emails and phone calls with any questions we had. Anything we wanted, they did everything they could to make it happen for us.
We can't get over how warm and welcoming all of the staff were, they made the day extra special with their exceptional service. The food was delicious and everything ran so smoothly during the meal, thanks to Alan, Joji, Patricia and the whole team. Our guests had use of the private cinema during our reception, which was ideal for watching Royal Ascot and football, a nice touch! The rooms were also AMAZING. We stayed the night before the wedding and the bridal party had the use of the fabulous Emo suite for hair and make up prep! Honestly, we couldn't have asked for a better venue. 100% highly recommend The Heritage to any newly engaged couples searching for the perfect spot. Our guests have been very complimentary about The Heritage and the experience they had on our wedding day!

A HUGE thank you to Louise, Sean, Aisling and all of the staff for the hard work and dedication that went into making it truly unforgettable. You honestly couldn't have done enough for us. Your professionalism, attention to detail and genuine warmth put us at ease from the very beginning and the communication throughout was exceptional and greatly appreciated. This is a long overdue review since we had our wedding in the Heritage in September 2023. From our first meeting with Sinead, our wedding co-ordinator to the second day of our wedding weekend, the staff at the Heritage were nothing short of amazing. I just want to say a massive thank you for giving myself and Rebecca a weekend that we will never forget.

I want to give a big thank you to Sinead and the Wedding team for all of the help you gave Rebecca and myself when it came to our wedding. Any query and request we had you did not hesitate to accommodate it for us. The entire weekend went off without a hitch and our wedding day was stress free in no short part due to the professionalism of the entire team. All staff on the day were so lovely and so kind, the food is still being raved about and the whole venue was just incredible.

I want to give another big thank you to Alan the Deputy General Manager who ensured that not only Rebecca and I were looked after but also that all of our guests were catered to up to the highest standard. The Heritage is lucky to have someone like Alan on their team and anyone who considers the Heritage as their venue will have the most amazing experience as a result of Alan and the hotel.

Another big thank you to Kevin in hospitality who looked after us over the weekend. We didn’t have to ask for anything due to Kevin and his team’s attentiveness to us and our guests.

The rooms, food (which is still being raved about), venue, service, breakfast, and facilities are out of this world.

I cannot express enough gratitude to the whole team at the Heritage for making our day as incredible as it was. We would recommend the hotel to any couple who are getting married, don't even give it a second thought. Thank you to the entire team for making our weekend so perfect.

The Heritage were absolutely amazing from the moment we booked with them. The wedding co-ordinaries were amazing. Gael, Tinashe and the team were amazing. Nothing was too small or too big of a question for them. They were always available on email to answer any questions. About a month before the wedding we met Gail for a run through of the hotel. She was fantastic. She went through everything from start to finish with us. She even helped us through things we hadn't even considered. She was amazing.
We arrived down to the hotel the night before. From the minute we stepped foot into the hotel we were greeted by the amazing staff. We literally could leave our brains at the door. The general manager Paul was absolutely astounding. He helped us with all of our bags and made us feel so welcome.
Every staff member from front of house, the bar and service were amazing. They were all so friendly and helpful. They really helped make it such a special environment for us. We couldn't have asked for a better team.
On the day we were looked after so well by Paul, Alan and Majella. They made sure we had everything at hand. The hospitality was amazing. We couldn't have picked a better venue or asked for better service.
Which was commented not only by us but all of our guests. The food was astounding. Every course was just as good as the tasting menu.
I would highly recommend the heritage to anybody that is looking for a wedding venue. The team go above and beyond. They really help make the day feel so special for you and bring such an energetic atmosphere to the hotel.

The staff were all so helpfull with the planning of the wedding and very professional. They were always there when we had questions and very quick to respond. They were all so friendly and welcoming and did such a beautiful job on everything for the wedding it was such a pleasure to have our wedding at the heritage

Our wedding took place in The Heritage on June 22nd 2023. We had the most incredible, surreal day and a lot of that was down to our choice of venue. Sinead, Gael, Ray, John, J.P. and the rest of the staff could not do enough for us and were fabulous to deal with from our first meeting with them. The bridal party stayed the night before the wedding and got ready that morning in the Ban Ki Moon bridal suite!! The luxury! The bridal suite was stunning, so spacious and made the perfect background for our wedding pictures. Our breakfast was sent up to the room as we got ready. We couldn't have asked for a more peaceful and relaxing wedding morning.
Our reception was so well executed and the timing between courses was perfect. The food that came out was absolutely delicious, a fact that was acknowledged by many of our guests.
We honestly couldn't be happier with our day and we are immensely grateful to the fantastic staff at the Heritage.

I honestly do not know the right words to describe how incredible this company is. Clodagh came all the way from west Cork to Laois to mind my brother and sister for my fathers wedding. Thomas and Rhea have autism and are non verbal and clodagh slotted right in like she knew them all her life. Clodagh is worth her weight in gold she was fantastic. If you?re thinking of getting these girls to mind your kids don't give it a second thought call them right now. Cannot recommend this company enough. ??

The service on the day of the wedding was amazing. Nothing was a problem and everyone was treated really well. Beforehand, it was sometimes difficult to contact the hotel by phone. Phone calls were often not answered and messages not replied to. The food on the day was superb. The price of the rooms for guests was quite disappointing, we didn't expect it to be so high.

Staff and hotel were perfect. Everything went exceedingly well. David the Deputy GM is a real asset to the hotel and to wedding couples getting married in The Heritage.
All staff from GM to Wedding Coordinator to wait staff were excellent, friendly and made the day perfect.
Food was excellent with great choice and quantity.
Overall, an excellent hotel and a very positive experience having our wedding in The Heritage.

We had the pleasure of being married in the heritage hotel on July this year. We couldn't be happier with how it all went. Sinead and Gael were absolutely amazing when it came to planning. Every single thing was absolutely perfect. Victoria was fabulous on the day making sure everything ran smoothly. And all the guest complimented the beautiful decor and delicious food. I would highly recommend the heritage and their wedding team to any couples looking for a stress free day and beautiful venue.

I don't even know how to begin to say thank you for giving us an absolutely brilliant wedding day. Everything was beautiful, you all made it such a special day for us both and all our guests. We couldn't pin point our favourite part of the day because it was all wonderful. You all went above and beyond for us and we really appreciate it. We had our beautiful wedding in The Heritage last August after postponing from March. After our initial first visit & viewing we fell in love with the hotel & booked our date in straight away! (The bridal suite is just amazing!) Unfortunately due to covid restrictions we had to postpone but Kim & Gosia, were so accommodating, they made the the whole rescheduling process so easy for us! The hotel were very easy to communicate with & answered any queries we had. We got to do our menu tasting over the summer & were spoilt rotten! Then eventually we had the most fabulous wedding day celebration. All of our guests were wowed by stunning the hotel from the stairs to the ballroom & even 3 months later friends are still raving about the meal being top class!! One of my favourite things about the hotel overall is the staff were all so warm & friendly to everyone. The service is exceptional! Our guests had the best day & we never felt like the fun/party was compromised due to covid. I would have no problem in recommending The Heritage to anyone looking to get married there in the future!

We couldn't of asked for more from our venue when planning during a time of such uncertainty. Kim/Ger and the team were always so helpful and nothing was ever an issue. Our guests enjoyed 2 beautiful days in The Heritage Hotel. And the service was amazing along with the food and complete package.

The Heritage and their wedding team were excellent in everyway and made our day so special. We had to cancel 3 seperate times and each time they were so accomodating and reassuring. They send us out a lovely gift during the year to let us know they were thinking of us and how hard is was on us and other wedding couples. We could not recommend them enough for any future couples looking for a venue. We can't wait to go back to stay there again!

The staff at the heritage were incredibly kind and helpful to my Husband and I. They were always willing to help answer queries and address and concerns that we had throughout the planning stages. Although we did not end u[ having a wedding reception due to covid I would have no hesitation in highly recommending the heritage as a wedding venue.

The Heritage Hotel, Trisha in particular, were amazing to deal with throughout our wedding planning process. From the moment we met the wedding team and took a tour of this beautiful venue, we knew it was the place we wanted to celebrate our wedding. Nothing was too much trouble and every member of staff was always warm and eager to engage with us. We had the best day and the Heritage ensured that we have fantastic memories that will last a lifetime.

I'm so glad that we picked The Heritage, Killenard as our wedding venue. Trisha was our wedding coordinator and was so helpful. She made the preparation for the wedding much easier. A number of the guests commented on how good the staff were and that it really felt like a 5 star experience. It was great to talk to the chef at the wedding tasting and the food on the day was fabulous. Guests are still talking about the doughnuts at the drinks reception! The room was decorated really well and they set it up even better than I had imagined. The stairs were great for photographs and the guests could still mingle with everyone as the photographs were being taken.

We had the best day at The Heritage for our wedding. Everything was top class and seamless. From the first contact with wedding coordinator David right through to the wee hours of the reception, the staff and service were faultless. Guests were very impressed with the venue, the service and the food. We would highly recommend this hotel, best in the midlands by far.

We really can't speak highly enough of the Heritage and all the team there. David Hanniffy guided us through the wedding planning and was always available for advice. The Heritage in Killenard was absolutely fantastic. The food, service everything was excellent. The professionalism of the staff was out of this world with particular mention to Trisha our wedding coordinator who went above and beyond and John on the day for his patience and professionalism. We could not reccomend the Heritage enough. All our guests commented on the fabulous food, the courteous staff and the gorgeous hotel itself.

We had the most amazing wedding day at The Heritage Killenard and would like to thank David Hannify and all the staff for making our day so special. We planned our wedding from Australia but never found it daunting when we dealt with the hotel as everything was so organised and there was absolutely no stress. Massive thanks to the Heritage Killenard where we had our wedding reception on 5th May 2018. We had the most unforgettable experience at the Heritage Killenard. Being a Heritage Bride and Groom is not just a one day experience, you are made to feel like royalty the whole way through the wedding planning process. Aside from the beautiful location, stunning modern hotel with breathtaking staircase and pure five star elegence, the staff and service at the Heritage Killenard are what makes this hotel so unforgettable. We would like to say a special thank you to David Hannify our wedding coordinator who was so easy to deal with. David was so straightforward and prompt at responding to emails and was always at hand for our numerous queries! David organised dining and spa etc for the days after our wedding, it was fantastic having a point of contact to organise not only the wedding day details but also our whole stay with the hotel. Special thanks also to the Head Chef Ian Clifford and his team. Choosing our menu was a very special evening, where we got an opportunity to sit with the Head Chef and discuss the menu and any changes. Ian was a true professional and magnificent to deal with. He offered his suggestions and opinions and gave us so much time and we really enjoyed going through the menu with him. We would like to say a special thanks to John Kelly, who truly made the wedding dining experience an experience to remember. He ensured everything ran smoothly during the evening and added a touch of class with the white gloves and coordinating the top table food service to be served all at the same time in unison. John coordinated the speeches and introduced us into the ballroom and was an absolute pleasure to deal with. Thanks also to Joijo our personal server for the wedding reception who also treated us like royalty for the night! We want to thank all the staff at the Heritage, who are true gems and are a credit to the hotel and to themselves. The staff are so friendly and always have time to stop and have a chat with the guests in the bar or dining room. The staff tending to the ballroom were superb and the residents bar staff were so friendly and on the ball with our late night orders! We had a wonderful chat with so many of the staff from Finbar (night porter), Joe Kenny (waiter), Ciaran O?Neill (manager). The reception at the Heritage was truly fantastic and exceeded our expectations. The little touches like greeting us not only with champagne but in personalised Galway Crystal glasses as a keepsake, the personal message in our room from the general manager Andrew Phelan, the personalised milk and cookies in the grooms nephews room all added up to make this a real five star experience. We were so delighted to have decided to stay on a few extra nights at the Heritage. The bridal suite we chose - The Ban Ki-moon suite was breathtaking. The luxury of the rooms in this suite and stunning views over the golf course are just magnificent! The down to earth, homely, friendly atmosphere in a five star setting is truly unique to the Heritage Killenard. We will be back as often as we can and look forward to our one year anniversary stay in the bridal suite already. We could not recommend the Heritage enough. We had such an amazing two nights in March for our wedding. Trish was our coordinator and nothing was too much trouble. The food was amazing on the night & thanks a million to executive chef Ian for letting us change around a few things on the menu :) I would highly recommend the Heritage Killenard & can't wait to go back for a night for our anniversary!

My first experience with the Heritage was when I went on a spa break with my sister. When I first stepped inside the hotel I had a very positive feeling and I knew instantaneously that if I was ever to get married, I would have my reception there. Luckily when the time came and myself and my husband viewed the hotel together, he similarly shared the same feeling. From our initial contact with the wedding team when we expressed an interest in the hotel as a potential venue to celebrate our wedding and up to and after our wedding day, the team were a pleasure to deal with. They were very professional and very accommodating of all of our needs. In addition to the beautiful venue and the professional and courteous nature of the staff, the food and service on the wedding day was top class. We have received lots of praise from our guests regarding how much they enjoyed our wedding, a lot of this praise was due to the exceptional service and quality of food provided by the Heritage. We would like to extend special praise to Trisha Broughan who is excellent in her role as events executive. I would highly recommend the Heritage as a potential wedding venue for any newly engaged couples without any hesitation.

The whole team at The Heritage could not have been more helpful in the run up to the wedding and on the day. No request was too small or too big, they made us and all our guests feel so welcome and everybody kept telling me how excellent the hotel staff were during their stay. David was our Wedding Planner and he was so lovely to deal with and made sure everything ran smoothly along with John, the banqueting manager, who was also brilliant. The food was delicious and exactly as we requested at the tasting. Ian the head chef was so helpful and professional, he made us feel very confident all was going to be great on the day which it was. I honestly picked the Heritage as I have heard such good things from other brides and friends and really wanted to choose somewhere I could trust for high standards in food and service as I have heard so many awful stories I didnt want to risk somewhere I hadn't received referrals from. The hotel is 5 star but I found reasonably priced considering some 4 star hotels in area were almost charging the same. Our penthouse and the views were amazing and we got married in the church across the road which was so convenient esp with time pressure on the day. I can't recommend this hotel as a venue enough as our day was so special and I know its because the team in the Heritage went the extra mile to make it that way.

We had our wedding reception in the Heritage Resort, Killenard in August of this year. With over 200 guests on the day the team at the Heritage went above and beyond our expectations.
Their level of professionalism is second to none and I must add that David Hannify, who looked after our every need, is an exceptional ambassador for the hotel

On the day everything ran very smoothly and on time , especially the meal as I know many couples worry about this. The food was amazing and our guests are still talking about it

We also chose wine from their selection , which went down a treat with our guests. In fact some of them have been in touch to ask what it was !

As we had a lot of children at our wedding we found the facilities to be fantastic. They were able to avail of the private cinema, playground and games room on the day

The accomodation is to an excellent standard and we had a great choice in terms of honeymoon suite

We couldn't speak highly enough of Trisha our wedding coordinator and John in the function room. All the staff in general made our day extra special. Every thing down to the smallest detail was attended to with great dedication by Trisha. We would recommend this hotel as a wedding venue to anyone.

I couldn't say I would do anything different, Our wedding planner Trish Broughan was simply amazing and catered to everything we asked, totally felt at ease through the whole planning stage,

This was a fantastic venue for our wedding. It's a beautiful hotel, the food was great (so many compliments from our guests) and the staff are brilliant, so helpful and accomodating.

Our wedding at The Heritage, Killenard, was absolutely fantastic. I have nothing but praise for the hotel as a venue, and the service we, and our guests, received from the staff.
The banqueting suite is lovely and the decor and chair covers were perfect. I love that the stage is recessed, so that the band can be setting up as the meals finishes, and the dancing can start as soon as possible. The room is also quite large, so that no tables had to be move (other than the head table) for the dance floor. The decor in the lobby is beautiful, and the staircase is a fantastic setting for photographs. We had some external photos taken in the Fairy Garden, and although it's not a big space-it's perfect for outdoor shots; we actually have loads to choose from (on what was a fairly wet day in August!). There's a little cinema off the Gallery (drinks reception area), which was great for the kiddies. The bedrooms are fabulous and so comfortable, from the standard rooms right up to the wedding suite (choice of 3!). Great choice for breakfast too.
What really sets The Heritage apart as a venue, is the service and the food. From our first visit with David, the wedding coordinator, I just had such a good feeling for the hotel. David had so much time for us, didn't rush us at all, answered all our questions and showed us every aspect of the hotel-including the different bedrooms/suites. In the run-up to the wedding, David and Trisha were on hand for any query, and were so accommodating and easy-going, I had no worries coming up to the big day. We had an awful lot of little touches, wedding favours, bits for the tables etc, no request was too big or too little-it was looked after.
On the day itself, David was there ensuring everything ran smoothly. The banqueting staff were exceptional, everyone from the wait staff to John the banqueting manager and Martina, his second-in command. John checked on every table during the meal. Martina looked after the kids table and knew them all by name within about 5 minutes! John and Martina also looked after us on the second day of our wedding when we had a BBQ, and they were as professional and lovely as ever. We had a big wedding (250ish) and a six course meal, but the meal ran so smoothly, all thanks to the staff; which is no mean feat!
That brings me to the food! Exceptional! As I said we had a large weeding, with a choice of starter, main and dessert. The food was incredible-cooked perfectly, hot when it arrived and delicious. I can not tell you the number of people who have complimented the food and service, since the wedding. Nearly every time I see someone for the first time, it's the same 'It was a great day-the food!, the service!'. Literally, everyone comments on the food and staff. So it's not just a bride looking back with rose-tinted glasses.
I can not recommend The Heritage, Killenard as a wedding venue enough-all I can say, is that if you're thinking about booking it as your venue-don't think about it-just book it! You will not be sorry!

Staff were great very responsive & professional, really felt confident that everything would be taken care of as planned.

The staff of The Heritage Spa Resort and Golf Course could not do enough for us on our special day. No ask was too big or too small. The hotel was recently redecorated and looks amazing and we were wowed by the banquet room when we walked in, it looked magical. Our family and friends commented on how amazing and friendly the staff were, how good the food was and how fabulous the hotel rooms were. We have a great connection with the hotel now and can't wait for more visits. I can't recommend the hotel enough.

Where to start...First and foremost - the staff are incredible! I have never come across such good service as they provide in the The Heritage Hotel, Killenard, They go above and beyond the port of call in every way they can from the service staff to the kitchen staff to the managers, the concierge and reception staff. The food is delicious and to this day people still comment on how great it was on our wedding day. I cannot recommend this hotel enough! Every time we go back up there for a visit the staff remember who we are! Love love love this hotel !!!

Every detail was seen to with enormous effort on your part from start to finish.

The finesse and graciousness of yourself and front-line staff, I was aware, was backed up by those who diligently worked in the background....this, I believe, must be acknowledged!



From our first contact with your good self during February / March 2013 right up until and throughout the wedding, my daughter and her husband were extremely impressed and pleased that they chose the Heritage Golf and Spa Resort as their wedding venue. This gave them great confidence and reassurance in the months that followed - right up to March this year.



We were supported and helped by the ladies at Reception and in Reservations at every stage.

I was amazed and very heartened to observe the generosity and cheerful sensitivity of the gentlemen in Concierge.........they looked after each and every guest from arrival to their departure irrespective of all the demands made.



All our rooms were beautifully presented as expected of the hotel.....the condition and standards in the guest rooms are of utmost importance to guests as they retreat to their rooms to revive, refresh and rest.



The Chef and his team were superb throughout....from the cooking skills and presentation of every delicious dish which was all done with exactitude, flair and artistry. Kindly extend our appreciation to the Chef for his help in planning menus and hard work throughout the entire weekend.



The Restaurant, Lounge and Bar staff in all areas, were exceptional as they saw that guest's needs and requests were satisfied even during very busy periods....this was challenging at times but staff remained calm, efficient and helpful.



As you promised, we saw how, because of the superb organization and training of the waiters, the meal ran very smoothly and every guest was individually considered. As a result, each course was served fresh without any unnecessary delays for any guest........this achievement must have been very difficult to master.

We were very pleased with the high standard, presentation and friendliness we received in the Golf Resort on the evening prior to the wedding. This meant so much to us as people settled in and mingled comfortably and with ease!



The Spa and Leisure Centre was also much appreciated by guests and, as we expected, standards and level of service was superb.



My daughter and her husband, all families and friends thoroughly enjoyed their stay at the Heritage Golf and Spa Resort - from all the feedback, I am very sure they will and speak highly of their experience far and wide and recommend the entire resort to others.

What can we say, every last detail of the entire wedding wedding was AMAZING. We had the most unreal day for our wedding and enjoyed every minute of it and the following day. I can't recommend The Heritage Golf and Spa resort enough to anyone thinking of having their wedding day with you and if they are lucky enough to have you as their wedding planner they will be sorted. Once again, thanks so much to all the staff and especially to you for all your help with our big day and the wedding weekend.

I just wanted to drop you a mail to say thank you for everything. We never had a single problem from the first day we met you to book the venue. The day exceeded both our expectations and that is down to the attention to detail of yourself and all the wonderful staff at The Heritage. On a personal level dealing with you has been a pleasure. I have never met somebody so professional and competent and totally in control of what they are doing as yourself. All of our guests were blown away by the venue, the food and the service and they are all still talking about it. I have been to many weddings at many different hotels over the last 10 years and I have never seen the reaction from the guests to everything that we got from our guests at The Heritage. On what can be a stressful time for many brides and grooms I'm sure, I have never felt so relaxed in my life. I may have looked stressed but that was the heat!

We recently got married and had our wedding reception in the Heritage Golf & Spa Resort. I couldn't have been happier with the hotel and the service that was provided. From the moment we booked our wedding with David, who was a pleasure to deal with throughout, we knew the Hotel would be the perfect wedding venue. All the staff are so welcoming and were a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. The Hotel d?cor itself is fabulous and maintained to the highest level. The feedback we got from all our guests was incredibly - from the accommodation, to the food both at the wedding and in the restaurant & bar. Our wedding day went without a hitch thanks to all the staff at the Heritage Hotel which really is a first class hotel!

I got married in Sept 10 at The Heritage Golf & Spa , from the day we booked we were given 5 star treatment.The wedding planer keep me informed with all updates and aslo worked with me on our budget. I could not fault the hotel with a thing my day was amazing. I would like to thank all the staff at The Heritage Golf And Spa for makeing my day better then I ever dreamed.
