Steeped in history, our Thomas Prior Hall venue has been beautifully restored into the wedding venue it is today. An original Victorian building, constructed to be a Masonic Girls School in the 19th Century, it is locate on the grounds of the Four-Star Clayton Hotel Ballsbridge. The venue is renowned across Ireland for its stunning surroundings, impressive decór and vast space. It is the ideal venue for a Dublin wedding. Fully licensed to host civil ceremonies, perfect for weddings up to 170 guests with a private bar, kitchen, stage & dance floor.
It makes the most memorable setting and promises an unforgettable experience for all of its guests. The magical church-like venue has a number of unique features, such as a separate porch entrance, ornate oak panelled walls, stained glass windows, choir balcony, spectacular chandeliers, in-built up lighters, private kitchen and bar, an impressive vaulted wooden ceiling and an outside seating area overlooking our manicured gardens and water fountain. The Perfect Wedding Day!
The wedding day went perfect and can’t fault it! We had such a great time. We were short tables for the dinner but Romaine was so fast in getting it sorted for us which was great. The tent outside was definitely a hit so I hope you guys are keeping it because it’s definitely a selling point. We were lucky to have it, can’t believe how insulating it is in the evening. Thanks so much for everything!

We just want to pass on our thanks to everyone who was involved in our big day - we honestly couldn't have higher praise for you all! The whole planning process was incredibly easy and we had absolutely nothing to worry about on the day thanks to your expertise. As well as that, we've had so many compliments from our guests on absolutely everything! The food and service was incredible, and all guests who stayed in the hotel for the weekend said what a fantastic place it was to stay (and raved about breakfast 🤣). We honestly could not have had a better day and were so well looked after. Thank you so much for all of your help in making our day so special.

Firstly, We would just like to say that we totally enjoyed holding our Wedding in the 1880 Room in the Hotel. The 1880 Room with the availability of the Courtyard outside for the Prosecco reception was great and all our guests complemented the setting and the hotel. From the time we arrived the staff were brilliant in looking after our guests before, during and after the Reception. The layout of the 1880 Room was exactly what we wanted. The Dinner Menu that we selected was perfect-the only criticism we would have was that the Beef was too tough for some of our guests and maybe we should have asked for it to be served as "well done". Special word for Victor and all the staff who looked after the serving of the meal and the wines for our guests. The DJ with the advice of the hotel staff decided to use the floor area outside the 1880 Room to perform her set and this worked very well for all our guests and everyone enjoyed the music. Our Wedding room and our guests rooms were impressive and we were all happy with our accommodation. We would certainly look forward to staying in the hotel again for our Anniversary. We would like to thank you Danielle in helping to organise our Wedding and the card and chocolates was a nice gesture on behalf of the hotel. We would highly recommend the Hotel as a Wedding venue.

Got married here September 2022. The team were very helpful and always prompt to reply to any queries. The food was excellent. We were served the wrong meal when we went to the menu tasting but no such issues when it came to the big day. The only thing they were not accommodating about was changing the times of the speeches which would have disrupted the food service so I could see their point. The room venue room is very different to others and guests were very impressed, it provides a beautiful setting for the evening, however it wasn't a particularly hot day but there was no air conditioning or even option to get air circulating so the room became uncomfortably hot as the night went on. All in all I would highly recommend this as a wedding venue, it could be even better if these issues could be ironed out.

We originally had our wedding planned for May, but due to COVID19 we weren't able to proceed with that date. The event/wedding coordinators at Clayton were so incredibly understanding and let us postpone to September with no penalties, for which we were very grateful. They also gave us a very good rate to upgrade to the Thomas Prior Hall, which was so elegant how they set everything up. We were so glad we went with that option. They were kind and accommodating in many ways and answered the multitudes of questions I continuously came up with!

We had booked Thomas Prior Hall as we wanted a Dublin based wedding and loved the venue on our first viewing. Due to the pandemic most of our plans changed and the venue were dealing with changing guidance on a weekly basis. Rachael was so responsive and ensured to communicate all changes and kept our minds at ease. While working with changes she was so helpful and did everything to ensure we still had a wonderful day both in the run up and on the day itself. She was so flexible and didn't allow the rules and restrictions deter us from going ahead but helped to ensure it would still go ahead smoothly. The service and food on the day was lovely, and all our guests were raving about it afterwards. I would highly recommend this venue and could not fault anything on the day or in the run up to it.

We had a small wedding ceremony in Thomas Prior Hall followed by dinner in the 1880 suite in the Clayton hotel. Originally we had planned a much bigger wedding for June but this was cancelled due to covid. The hotel were very good in helping us to reschedule for a much smaller affair. Rachael the wedding planner was excellent and very responsive, on the day she had everything under control and kept things moving as planned. We had beef and Seabass for the main meal and all guests commented on how good the food was, including the scones and pimms before dinner. Overall the day met our expectations and we are still buzzing. Thanks Rachael and team from Amy & Linda

We absolutely loved Thomas Prior Hall at the Clayton Hotel, Ballsbridge for our wedding venue back in February 2020.
My husband and I very much enjoyed the 19-century Victorian architecture from the high ceilings to the glass stained windows.
The venue was able to host both our civil ceremony and our reception, with drinks at the downstairs bar in between the two events accompanied by lovely canapés.
Leading up to the event, we were able to taste various wines and dishes to make sure that the menu for our special day was catered specifically to our needs and it did not disappoint! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful towards our hired services such as the band, celebrant, decorator and photographer.
A highly recommended venue for those looking to get married in Dublin.

We got married at the hall in December. Rachael was so wonderful to deal with and made everything really easy for us. The hall is absolutely stunning and a very beautiful, historical place to get married. There are so many details dating back to the Freemason's that make the place very special.

We had such a lovely time at the Thomas Prior Hall in Clayton Hotel Ballsbridge. The venue was beautiful, starting with an indoor ceremony, an outdoor reception and the dinner/party. Staff was attentive and very helpful. Food was tasty. We would consider our choice of venue as a huge success and would like to thank Thomas Prior Hall and staff for making our day special.

My husband and I couldn't recommend Thomas Prior Hall more highly as a wedding venue. Our guests were very complimentary about the quality of food and the service received. We are in full agreement. We loved the location of the building and also it's architectural beauty. The layout of the Thomas Prior Hall and the way different areas are run worked perfectly for us. The acoustics were also excellent. We had our ceremony and reception in the hall with our drinks reception in the grandstand courtyard. There are lovely spots to take photos in the garden too. Our guests were also very happy with the hotel rooms in the Clayton hotel (linked to the hall). The bridal suite was perfect. Our needs was accommodated in every way-be it early check in, Hall access for decoration, cake cutting, wheelchair access, mics.... We had a great party and loved every minute!

Our first visit to Clayton hotel Ballsbridge was July 2018. As we stood outside we knew immediately that this was the place we wanted to get married and have our reception. During our visit we spoke to the wedding coordinator. She was extremely helpful and professional. Upon returning home we set the date. We returned in April for the tasting and other necessary arrangements were made. Everything went very smoothly as we prepared to get married. We arrived a few days before as did several guests. The reception staff were outstanding and friendly helping us with details. Answering questions. We had on Friday dinner reservations for 18 of us. The food and service was outstanding. On our wedding day Nichole made sure everything was perfect. The Thomas Pyor hall was stunning. We loved the way the cake was displayed. With the lights. Our meal was delicious. The presentation was perfect. No words can express how happy we are with every detail. Thank you for taking care of us. We look forward to our 1 year anniversary at the Clayton.

We had the most amazing day. Thank you all so much we were really blown away. We were delighted by the whole day. All the staff were amazing. Thank you and all the events team for all your time and organising. Ye made it all so easy.
The food was gorgeous- people were so impressed. The staff on for the reception and the dining room were all fantastic. Graham did a brilliant job and sorted out the microphone and mother's gifts so quickly.

We didn't originally want to have our wedding in a hotel but with the numbers we had it would have been tricky to use a restaurant or other venue. Thomas Prior Hall was a great middle way with a lovely, characterful old venue coupled with all the convenience of a hotel... The venue looked beautiful on the night both inside and out- within the Hall itself you it doesn't feel 'hotel=y' at all. The great thing is that the venue organise almost everything so you don't have to worry about much at all.
We were looked after really well by Thomas Prior Hall- we couldn't fault them. Nicole was our contact point throughout and was fantastic to deal with. Really efficient and steered us ably through all the decisions that had to be made. We particularly appreciated her advice on stuff like timings and decorations- she was very down to earth and we liked also that she never pushed extras on us- we just felt that she was invested in our day and wanted us to have the best possible time. She was very patient also with our last-minute requests and the height of professionalism.
The food and wine options were good and the hotel allowed us to choose some off-menu dishes to reflect my husband's Polish roots, which was a nice touch. On the night everything went smoothly and we appreciated how the staff kept in touch with us at each stage of the evening to check everything was ok.

Ok...so where do I start??? We had the most amazing day!! And it could not have been done without the amazing people at Clayton Hotel in Ballsbridge. It all started maybe 8-10months before we were to get married. We chatted with Nicole Berkery who is so lovely to deal with. She was so easy to communicate with and we felt that she really listened to what we had to say. We met for a gorgeous menu tasting and really made the most of it. We got to taste various wines and got to have a look at what the dishes would look like on the day. The chef (Martin, I think his name was (apologies if I got it wrong)) was professional and came to talk to us about the meal plan. The service was also great during our meal tasting. Patryk served us on that night and he was so friendly!
When it started coming closer to the day we met with Nicole again and we went through the final arrangements. Again she was so professional and so lovely. On the day, everything went so smoothly. There were no hiccups...well none that I was told about:) All the food came out lovely, got great feedback from all the guests. My display tables looked perfect. The venue was gorgeous! Everybody was so delighted! Nicole and my sister also secretly organised a projector for her speech. I was just so so happy about everything! I really couldn't have asked for a better venue. I would highly recommend this place. Myself and my husband had an amazing time and we wouldn't change a thing!

Beautiful wedding venue for under 160 guests. Food was top class. Service from the events and catering staff was excellent. Drawback: lack of bar staff, and the hotel lobby was under construction at the time, this was not clearly communicated to us, we thought the renovations would be completed by the date.

What can we say. From start to finish Danielle from The Clayton Ballsbridge, made our whole wedding seamless. The venue it's self is gorgeous for photos, it has beautiful red brick facade, lovely green area. The staff were excellent. Very polite and accommodating, and the food for the wedding was outstanding. Our whole family enjoyed the day/night 100% would recommend Thomas Prior Hall to anyone seeking a small intimate wedding.
