There are some wedding traditions we just can’t get enough of and the ‘getaway car’ is one of them. We love seeing wedding cars all spruced up post-ceremony and there are lots of cute ways to go about it from pretty floral garlands across the boot or the bumper to streamers (stars, hearts, paper chains, ribbons… the options are endless) and cute and cheery bunting. One of our favourites has to be the old-school tin cans bobbing along the road as couples make their first journey as newlyweds – make them all the more personal by covering them in hearts and doodles with the couples name and wedding date. If the noise freaks you out, or you think they’re a little on the scary side, pom-poms, streamers or trailing flowers make for good substitutes. We of course also love our balloons – they make for a pretty photo op but may just be best for a few snaps outside the ceremony as you don’t want them getting in the way as you hit the road. Of course, it goes without saying that all these ideas should be done with care (safety first) and of course, if you’ve hired the car – be sure to check with the car company before you go dressing it up and be mindful of the materials you use. Here are 18 fab just married wedding car ideas…
