Say hello to Sarah and Tom, a gorgeous and stylish couple. After 10 years together, one child and a mortgage, Tom popped the question, followed by a stunning wedding 4 years later at Ballymagarvey Village. We love that the inspiration for their wedding theme came from a selection of Sarah’s favourite colours: teal, soft pink and white!

Sarah and Tom met 14 years ago at Sarah’s best friend’s 16th birthday party! After 10 years together, one child and a mortgage, Tom popped the question. Their intimate proposal story is best told from Sarah’s perspective:

“It was just myself, Tom and our daughter on my 27th birthday. Tom handed me a photo album filled with all of our memories over the past 10 years and when I had finished looking through them all, he proposed! Meanwhile all my 3 year old wanted was a ham sandwich.”

We love that the inspiration for their wedding theme came from a selection of Sarah’s favourite colours: teal, soft pink and white!

“I wore the most amazing ball gown from designer Caroline Castigliano purchased from the White Room. It was strapless with a pearl and lace corset bodice with a full silk skirt and I just felt it was timeless and elegant. I added sleeves for the ceremony to change the look from day to night. Tom had his suit custom made in Abrahams Tailoring as he wanted a specific wine shade Tux.”

The bridesmaids wore wedding dresses of their own choice, in the teal colour scheme provided. Sarah wanted them to love what they wore and to feel comfortable and confident.

“We got married in Ballymagarvey and their ceremony is amazing. So elegant and pretty. The ceremony was short, sweet and to the point. We really wanted our two girls to be included in it, which Shelly our celebrant did!”

“We have no words. Honestly every aspect of Ballymagarvey is just on another level. The staff, the grounds and the food were all incredible. You are treated like a princess from the minute you step into the place. Nothing was too much for them and both myself and Tom appreciate everything they did to make our day as magical as it was.”

Their wedding was perfectly captured by Daniel of DKPHOTO.

“Daniel is fantastic at what he does and to deal with. His photos are so beautiful and natural and he has the ability to make you feel comfortable in front of a camera. I love all of Daniel’s work so I knew we were in good hands. We have received our photos and they are incredible. You won’t be disappointed if you book Daniel.”

Out of all the beautiful moments from their Big Day, Sarah’s favourite memory was getting ready with the girls in the morning because it was so chilled. She just loved every minute of it. And of course, being introduced as husband and wife as they entered the amazing banquet hall was an incredible experience.

Sarah’s wedding planning advice is simple but perfect:

“Easier said than done, but try to relax and enjoy it. What will be will be and it will work out in the end!”
