“Walking down the aisle was unforgettable!”

We met… 9 years ago! Our paths first crossed in College and again while backpacking in Thailand.
Our proposal… took me completely by surprise. We sat in watching Christmas movies and Ger told me to look on the Christmas tree for a special decoration… the red box was hanging from a branch with the ring inside!
My look… my dress was a two piece Theia couture ensemble designed by Don O’Neill and purchased in Folkster, Kilkenny. I also bought a fur shrug from Folkster (just in case it was a white wedding!). My hair was styled by the incredibly talented Michelle O’Halloran and make-up was by the amazing Danielle Mahon.
His suit… and that of his best man was purchased in Protocol for Men, Dawson Street, Dublin.
What our bridal party wore… My best friend Orla was my bridesmaid and wore a stunning burgundy dress from Folkster, Dublin.
Our ceremony… was held in my local church St. Kevin’s Hollywood. Fr.Fergal had a 4pm flight to New York to catch so needless to say our ceremony was short and sweet!
We chose our venue and wedding coordinator because… Tulfarris Hotel & Golf Resort was our first and only hotel we visited. We loved everything about it. Honora Carberry and Co. made us feel very at ease and were excellent in helping us plan our wedding day.
Our wedding theme/colours… We have travelled a lot together and so that had to be the theme. All tables were named after cities we visited. We had photos of our favourite memories in each place.
We chose our photographer because… of their relaxed and alternative style! M&M Photography have an incredible portfolio on their website mmphotography.ie. From our first meeting with Marcin and Marta we knew we made an excellent decision.
Our honeymoon… was a three week trip to India over Christmas! We backpacked around India for two weeks making sure to stop in Udaipur, the honeymoon capital of India. We then rented a gorgeous beach hut at the Art Resort on Palolem beach in Goa. We rang in the New Year there as Mr & Mrs.
My favourite part of the wedding day… Walking down the aisle was unforgettable! The morning of our wedding began very wet but our photographer Marcin called us outside before the meal to go down for some photos by the lake. We watched a beautiful sunset there.
My piece of advice for other couples… is to really enjoy the day, take a moment for the two of you away from everything. Spend time and money on your honeymoon! And most of all keep things simple.
