My wedding dress… it took me a good few weeks to find the dress that “belonged” to me. I was looking online, looking in bridal shops, had seen lots of gorgeous dresses, but I had to find the right one and I found it in the The Bridal Boutique Fairview. I picked it out and knew straight away that it was for me. I felt amazing wearing it, so comfortable and stunning at the same time.
My hair and make-up… I am so happy I chose Inga Cuzin – IC Studio to do my hair and make-up. Inga was so relaxed and confident in what she was doing so I was sure I would be turned into the bride I was dreaming to be.
Our flowers… The flower arrangements by Roxana Sipos were simply amazing. The bouquets, corsages, buttonholes and church arrangements were magnificent.
Our wedding car… Going from the church, we hired KP Chauffeurs & their 1930s Beauford. It looked so classic and it really suited the theme of our wedding. They were also quite accomodating to last minute changes.
Our ceremony… We wanted to have our ceremony in a church, so we picked St. Bernadette’s Parish where Mark’s parents got married. We selected Barbara Sheridan as our church wedding singer. Oh my God, her voice was breath-taking! It was already so emotional but hearing her sing brought us to tears – what a feeling! It was almost as if God picked her to do such a job.
We chose our photographer because… We met Monica (www.monicahadarean.com) two years ago at our friend’s wedding. We weren’t engaged at the time, but I knew I would choose her when the time came! She was so professional and so discreet, her style and ability to work with people impressed me. So when we decided to get married I just ticked her off my wedding planner list. We were so delighted with what she did for us; the pictures, the wedding album, the thank-you cards and a canvas gift. They are all absolutely beautiful.
What our bridal party wore… Mark and his groomsmen suits were picked in Protocol for Men in Dawson Street. Mark was a bit worried I wouldn’t like them, but I just loved them. He was my handsome groom! Our bridesmaids wore warm coral/peach coloured dresses. Our youngest maid had a different style of dress and they all looked brilliant together.
We chose our venue because… We chose Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel as our venue because we thought it was the right place for us; beautiful surroundings, a huge ballroom and the brilliant staff were so flexible to our needs.
Our wedding menu… The wedding menu was fully catered for. Any special requests were looked after and they even came around again for second helpings.
Our entertainment… For our music we hired a band and DJ. Our band was “House Party”. We went to see them during their regular slot in the Grafton Lounge, Dawson Street on Thursdays. They have such a modern mix of music i.e. current charts, wedding and party classics. We hired DJ Ovidiu as our host for after the band. He also generously played light music during the wedding meal. He had an uncanny ability to blend into the surroundings of the room with some clever robes to hide his equipment from sight. Well recommmended.
Our favourite part of the day… It’s too hard to pick! We had such an unbelievable day that exceeded our expectations. It was like summer 2013 kept a day for us. The sun rose from early morning and that was only the beginning of a perfect day.
