For most people, the haunting sound of the Uilleann Pipes and Irish Music are synonymous. Nothing heralds the arrival of the bride quite like the sound of the pipes, which bring a unique and authentic mixture of ancient Irish Culture and Tradition to your Wedding Day. This is the mystical, unique and melodic sound which Arundó can bring to your wedding. Arundó are a very experienced and talented group of Traditional Irish Musicians who have played at hundreds of weddings throughout Ireland and further afield over the years. With 20 years of experience playing weddings, part of our service to you is helping guide you through your music selection with sensitivity and care. Every wedding is special to us - they are joyous occasions and we respect the ceremony be it Catholic, Protestant, Humanist or Civil. We make it our aim to give you a most personalised and intimate wedding music experience.
Arundó crosses musical genres seamlessly, making the band ideally suited to entertain your wedding guests on your special day. The band can enhance your wedding ceremony with haunting Irish, Classical and Contemporary instrumental music and song, and can provide a lively set during your pre-meal drinks reception. Arundó can also entertain you with a spirited Céilí, which can include Irish dancers and a dance instructor - a wonderful addition to your wedding celebrations! See our Céilí video if interested.
Arundó also routinely perform many of the religious hymns popular at wedding ceremonies, and over the years, have built up a substantial repertoire of religious music (including several hymns in the Irish language).
Based in County Cork, Arundó play an exciting mixture of traditional (original) and contemporary Irish Music (and also dabble with the haunting sounds of Andean music). The band’s sound revolves around the uilleann pipes, the flute, the guitar, the mandolin, and the bodhrán. Over the years, Arundó have jammed with legendary musicians such as Imelda May, members of Elton John’s band, Mundy, and have played for prestigious occasions such as the UCC Honorary Conferrings where sports stars Brian Cody , Denis Irwin, Ronan O’Gara , Aidan O’Brien and Mary O’Connor were all honoured. Arundó have also entertained well known public figures such as Micheál Martin, John Lonergan, and Sean Gallagher, and have supported The Cork Simon Community and Trócaire. Arundó's latest musical project has seen them provide the entire musical soundtrack to a new DVD promoting Ireland.
During the summer, Arundó play a residency at the Blue Haven, Kinsale.

We had Arundó play at our wedding at the end of June. The majority of our guests and my husband had never been to a céilí before but the guys at Arundó made sure everyone got involved dancing and felt at ease, we're still getting compliments about the céilí months after our wedding. Some of our guests were even asking for their contact details as they are getting married soon and wanted to book Arundó for their wedding also!

Arundo were absolutely wonderful from start to finish. John was super responsive and proactive to deal with right from our first inquiry to double checking all the details the week of the wedding. They were very flexible and happily worked with one of my friends who I'd asked to sing at the ceremony. On the day, the quality of the music was top rate (I'm a musician myself so quite particular). The music after the ceremony through the drinks reception was also wonderful. Overall we can't thank them enough for their contribution to our day and if you want top quality traditional Irish musicians for your wedding, Arundo are perfect.

Arund? played at our wedding for our ceremony and drinks reception. John was a pleasure to deal with from the beginning. He provided us with many ideas for song choices at different points in the ceremony and they were accommodating when we asked could they accompany a friend singing too. They arrived well in advance of the ceremony to set up and rehearse with our singer. The music on the day was stunning and our guests were very complimentary about the music. Arundo played our drinks reception and did a ceili for us in the evening as well. The music was amazing for both, and the ceili was definitely the highlight of the wedding for us! Everyone wanted to take part, it was just so joyous and fun. The band played beautiful slower songs between the livelier pieces too, which worked really well. They were even good enough to do our first dance as a big group number, and to accommodate a number of music requests in advance. All our guests were saying how much they'd enjoyed it afterwards. We could not recommend them enough!

Arund? were a huge part of what made our wedding day so special. Trad music was a big part of the household I grew up in, and when I found them, I knew they were perfect. They are highly skilled musicians, with a range of sounds to choose from and they were extremely professional from start to finish. We opted for the fiddle, guitar and uilleann pipes and the sound echoing around the Honan was sublime. They continued to play at the River Lee Hotel and really got the party going with a huge range of polkas, reels, jigs and more! Thank you John and the band, you were a pleasure to work with and we will cherish the memory of your playing at our wedding forever.

From the get go we both wanted Irish music to play a big part of our wedding and we could not have got a better group than Arundo. Their performance was fabulous on the day and really added to our day. They have been praised and complemented by so many of our guests as they created such a great atmosphere filling what is a large church and our wedding venue with music that appealed to all ages. We would have Arundo all over again if we got to relive our wedding day again. They were brilliant both in the lead up and the day itself especially with the challenges that the pandemic brought.

When we think back on our wedding day, one thing in particular stands out for us as the married couple and also our guests: our ceremony music played so beautifully by Arundo. John Byrne and his fellow musicians made our ceremony extra special. Against the backdrop of the beautiful St. Mary's cathedral in Killarney, the haunting rendition of the Cranberries 'Dreams' was simply stunning. They are true artists of their craft and made our ceremony all the more special. John was extremely helpful when planning our ceremony, he was very responsive on email and provided tips and pointers for us to ensure we could have the most successful musical backdrop to our special day. John and Kevin are amazing!! We can't overstate how great they were. It was incredible how much the hymns and instrumentals added to the ceremony. We knew we were in great hands from the day we got in touch with Arund? and really appreciated all the advice. Having suggested tracks for each section in the ceremony really helped. It made it such an enjoyable process and we couldn't be happier with the results. Wedding guests were complimenting the music all day long and some are still asking us 'who played at your wedding?'. Arundo played church and drinks reception music for us at our wedding in December.
I couldn't recommend the guys more, they are just fantastic musicians, so professional and a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. We live in Australia so having traditional music at our wedding back home in Ireland was really important to us and their music blew us away at the ceremony, it was absolutely perfect. The guys were so easy to deal with over email living abroad, and were really good with suggestions for what types of music/songs suit which bit of the ceremony etc which was so helpful as we really didnt know where to start. I was also about 40 mins late for the ceremony and the guys played every miinute from when the first guest arrived until I walked in to keep everyone entertained.
So many of our guests asked us who were playing at our drinks reception as the music was so lively and fun, and they intend on getting into Cork City to hear them play again. All of our guests from overseas also so loved the trad music, it was so lovely to showcase that side of Ireland.

John and the band were absolutely amazing. Our guests were from three different countries and we were a little bit worried as to how we would get them to mingle on the dance floor. Arundo had every guest up set dancing and having the time of their lives from the very first song. The band kept the atmosphere lively and energetic by mixing dance performances into between the more vigorous set dances. This gave guests a chance to catch their breath before being getting back up for some more fun.
Arundo were very professional, very well organised and responsive throughout our wedding planning.

Arund? are still talked about when we meet up with any of our wedding guests. Both the church and the drinks reception music added to the whole day. The lads were so easy to deal with in trying to select the church music and went out of their way to learn a song we both liked for the church. Even people that may have been a bit apprehensive about their style of music being used in a church setting were converted on the day. Thanks again Arund?!!!!

Arundo was one of the first vendors I booked for our wedding. I live in the US, but it has always been my dream to get married in an Irish castle, so when that time came, I wanted Traditional Irish Music to walk down the aisle to, and for my American guests. I came across Arundo through a wedding website that recommended them. when I emailed John enquiring about his services, he took my address and mailed me out a packet. A packet! Two CDs full of samples, pricing, options, as well as the CDs, broken down to places in the ceremony! Do you have any idea how helpful that is? I have never been married before. I don't know what we are supposed to play, where and how. It was amazing. I could literally have just filled in the blanks and be done (which we did for the bulk of the ceremony), but he also helped me fine tune and personalize our ceremony to maximize the music's emotional effectiveness. It was awesome! John worked with myself and my celebrant and as a result, it turned out magically. in addition to having the most beautiful ceremony ever (I am sure all brides say that but I really did :) ), they played my reception where my entire family fell in love with them. They even played "Twinkle Twinkle" for my 20 month old flower girl. People like that are a rarity. My favorite photos are of my guests kicking off their shoes, and dancing as Irish-y as they could. :) Its something I will never forget. Their awesome-ness doesn't end there, however, as since then their generosity continues and we actually used their album as our wedding favor for our reception back here in the States! They were an absolute dream and I recommend them to anyone and everyone. We are so blessed for coming across you both and for having the honor of you playing for us on our special day.
