Athenry Candles is a small family run business started in 2016 and based in Athenry, Co Galway. 

We started making our product after a fantastic course where we learned soap and candle making and are since delighted to share our passion. We design and make personalised Wedding Unity Candles.

Our Personalised candle is 100% Hand-Finished and Hand-Decorated. We don’t use any stickers or plastic wraps that could peel off after some time. We incorporate all the images and text details into the candle wax, giving the candle smooth satin-like finish. 

Our special coating process will ensure your candle lasts a lifetime!

Athenry candles are quick and responsive. After placing my order I had a reply within a couple of hours and my order was being processed the following day. The candles I received were well packaged and just what I'd asked for. I would definitely recommend this supplier.

Very fast and efficient service. Loads of choices of design so you should be almost certain to find a design to match the theme of your wedding you have chosen. There are cheaper suppliers but Athenry Candles had exactly the design I wanted so I was happy to pay

We would just like to thank Athenry candles for the amazing pouring of sand kit it was great quality arrived really quickly and packaged really securely. The sand and glasses with our names on them was a beautiful touch everybody was amazed by our ceremony and loved the pouring of sand we would highly recommend these kits to anybody wishing to unite there family in a special way at there wedding.

They put a picture of bride and groom's home houses on their individual candles and their new house on centre candle and eventhough the idea was new to them I received the candles within a few days! Myself and my now husband spent hours searching the internet looking for the perfect sand mixing set and little did we know we'd find it right on our doorstep. We were delighted with the candles we ordered for our wedding ceremony. The customer service at Athenry Candles was excellent. They could not have been any more helpful. I would have no hesitation in suggesting this company to other couples looking to buy candles for their wedding. We also ordered memory candles for my parents and my uncle, which were beautiful. The candle for my uncle was an addition to the order after it had been placed, but there was no problem having the order amended. Thank you to all at Athenry Candles!

We ordered a candle for our wedding in October which we lit to remember loved ones who could not be with us. Choosing our candle online, personalising it and checking out we’re al super smooth and quick. Our candle arrived earlier than promised and was gorgeous! We were delighted with Athenry Candles and would defo recommend (in fact our celebrant Antoinette recommended them to us! )

We ordered the family crest unity candles which were amazing and a lovely keepsake to have. An email copy of how the candles would look was sent before they were made to make sure we were happy with the final look. Couldn't fault the service. Reasonably priced and quick turnaround.

I would 100% recommend athenry candles. I ordered my sand ceremony frame and glasses at short notice and I had it on time after sending them a little message of the date it was needed for. The quality of the frame is beautiful.

I ordered our Unity Wedding Candles from Athenry Candles. We were very impressed with the customer service. I emailed enquiring if we could amend the writing on the candle, and she was very quick and efficient with her response. There was no issues at all, whatever we requested she did. They arrived promptly and were delighted with the end result.

Edith was so helpful and lovely. Shortly after we placed the order we had to reschedule our wedding and Edith responded straight away and said that she would wait until closer to our wedding date to make our candles. Our own design was added to the candles and they were beautiful. We highly recommend Athenry Candles.

We ordered unity candles & ceremony sand kit from Athenry candles. Super fast delivery & excellent quality products. There was a breakage which may have been an issue with the courier, however Edith sorted it out & had a replacement out in the next post. I would highly recommend…5 stars

I was looking for a completely custom candle that didn't exist on the website, and Edith was phenomenal about it. From me messaging them about a custom design, to Edith creating the design and getting my candles done was only a few hours and I literally had my candles delivered the next day!

Ordered a personalised memory candle and sand ceremony set, both arrived ahead of est delivery time and looked beautiful. Found it hard to find a simple sand set and when I came across Athenry Candles I was delighted. The candle also was perfect, just what we were looking for. Couldnt fault these guys, super job!

The glass vase we ordered was actually broken on arrival. The courier was a little heavy handed, arrived smashed. Thankfully we opened it to take a look before the wedding. Anyway, after seeing it broken, we made contact with Athens Candles and sent them pictures. Well, what happened next blew our minds. They apologised, they said they would send another free of charge and would be there within 2 days. We asked if we could have it collected, instead of the risk of the courier breaking it again. No problem. Collected many my parents, perfect product. Couldn't be happier with the the product.

Very good service. Product was fabulous. Bigger and heavier than I had imagined but still fabulous. We did struggle to remove 1 sand bag from inside the holding vessel, we did order extra sand, but we got there in the end. Transport of product to us was wonderful. Please note transfer from venue to home it needs to travel upright! I chose black and white sand to match where it is now displayed. Black is not the best choice with the inscription being black also, that was my colour choice!! But I absolutely love it as an everyday reminder.

Just received our unity candles this morning (15th September), having only ordered them on Thursday ( 10th September). The quality is incredible. They are exactly what we ordered and the value for money is brilliant. We got our unity candle, two single candles with our names & a remembrance candle with our names on them for just fifty Euros. Everywhere else I looked was double the price. Thank you so much! I would highly recommend Athenry Candles.

I ordered the sand ceremony set from this company and it is just perfect, exactly what we wanted! We searched for ages to find one similar to one we seen on an American site. This site is easy to personalise your order and great value. Great quality glass jars and arrived pretty quickly too. The lady also was very helpful as I asked for the date not to be added incase we needed to change again due to coronavirus, she sent it to me separately to use if it goes ahead or said she would sent me an alternative date if needed! Great service.

Ordered candles and left it very late. We ordered a wedding and memorial candle with tapers for lighting. The order came ahead of schedule which was a plus. We wrote our own inscription which was added in acrylic, colours and ribbons came out perfect. Can't fault the service. Only thing I would say it's costly for a few candles , but they are competitively priced. Happy with our purchase.

I contacted Athenry candles as I had been looking online for a Christening candle. Edith contacted me and was so helpful and prompt with getting my order sorted. She gave me options on not just colour of ribbons I wanted but types of ribbon, I got to customise the text, there was so many options to make the item individual to me. The quality was honestly excellent and it surpassed my expectations. The customer service was genuinely excellent and I would 110% use again and will be recommending to all my friends and family.

We ordered a candle for our Wedding. We requested that extra writing be added to the back of the candle and they were very happy to accommodate our request. Edith was excellent to deal with. The candle is beautiful. We are very happy and would recommend Athenry Candles to everyone.
