2012 Voice of Ireland contestant and award winning tenor Dan Twomey will bring tears of emotion to the eye of every guest at your wedding! Based in Co Cork, Dan is very much a part of the music culture which is rich in Cork. Dan has performed over the years in many places such as Lake Garda, Cape Town South Africa, Graz, Vienna and performed the Mozart Requiem, Faure Requiem and Karl Jenkins ‘Gloria’ at London’s Royal Albert Hall. Dan has performed other works on a number of occasions such as ‘The Dream of Gerontius’ by Edward Elgar at Dublin’s National Concert Hall with the UCD Choral Scholars and Our Lady’s Choral Society. He also performed Handel's Messiah on a number of occasions. Dan is available nationwide as a tenor soloist for both civil and church wedding ceremonies, pre-dinner wedding reception venues, funerals, corporate functions, private parties, anniversaries and concerts to name but a few.
With over 20 years experience, Dan has won various competitions both as a soloist, and as part of different choirs, including an All Ireland Solo Singing title at the Macra na Feirme National Talent Competition held at the National Concert Hall in Dublin in 2009. Dan has performed at Weddings as far away as Johannesburg, South Africa and in Ireland St. Patrick’s Cathedral Armagh, various Dublin venues and most recently in Newbridge, Kildare and in Donegal. Dan’s biggest achievement to date has been his appearance on ‘The Voice of Ireland’ on RTE ONE in the Spring of 2012 where he performed the world class duet’ Time to Say Goodbye’ with Soprano, Vanessa Whelan from Waterford. This received phenomenal recognition both nationally and internationally.
As a soloist, Dan performs a varied repertoire of music, from classical to traditional and contemporary to suit your taste and your style of wedding. He can arrange an accompanist/organist if required for your wedding.
