Gareth was amazing throughout. He did exactly what we asked for and helped guide us through the style of our wedding cake. As for the cake itself, there are no words to describe how good it was. Gareth was a pleasure to work with over the course of several months, and delivered a cake for our big day beyond our expectations. Gareth took on board all of our design requests and the real life production was everything we asked for and more. Apart from the aesthetics, each tier/flavour was unreal - far better than any wedding cake I've ever had, and it was clear that the ingredients used were very high quality. Having looked into several cake suppliers before settling on Gareth, he was also much better value than most.

I sent Gareth a picture of what we were looking for with our wedding cake & he said it would be no problem at all. We got sample boxes delivered which were absolutely great so we could sample all the flavours he has on offer. The cake was exactly what we wanted in terms of how it looked and it tasted amazing too! Gareth is absolutely amazing at what he does. From the first time I contacted him to see if he was available until the day of the wedding everything was just so easy. He made the most amazing 3 tier semi-naked cake with fresh flowers. It looked fantastic and the three flavours we picked were just amazing. We had so many compliments on the cake as we decided to cut the cake after the wedding ceremony so our guests could enjoy it with their pre-dinner drinks. I could not reccommend Gareth highly enough.

I would highly recommend GBC Cakes for a wedding. Everything about the cake and his service was fantastic. I came across GBC Cakes on Instagram when on the look out for a cake supplier and I’m so glad that he made our wedding cake. We chose a three tier cake: chocolate biscuit cake, lime and coconut and coffee. Gareth sourced beautiful flowers for the cake and it looked like a piece of art on display. The whole cake was so fresh and tasted great. It also held together well when cut. The lime and coconut was a real favourite of ours. It’s somewhat similar to a lemon drizzle cake with a bit of added texture from the coconut. Gareth is a real professional and his cakes are top quality. You won’t regret booking in with him for your wedding cake.

I booked Gareth based on previous couples reviews & was so glad I did. Gareth was so pleasant to deal with,responded to any queries almost immediately and our wedding cake was something I never had to worry about in Gareths capable hands! We received a delicious tasting box (the only downside was it was near impossible to only pick 3 flavours!). Our cake on the day was perfect, it was both delicious and beautiful to look at. Gareth was fantastic to work with. He was very quick to respond to my emails and was very flexible and accommodating with all my ideas. The cake turned out amazing, even better than I could have imagined. The lemon drizzle cake and white chocolate and honey comb biscuit cake taste incredible. The hardest part was picking the flavours because they all taste delicious. We had our baby christened recently and we didn't hesitate in going back to Gareth for the christening cake and would reccomend him to anyone looking for an occasion cake.

Gareth from the first message was brilliant when we enquired to see was our wedding date free which it was so we were offered a a tasting box which was so delicious and immediately decided Gareth was going to make our wedding cake. The tasting box was a great way of including family in the wedding prep and also a nice chance to sit down with a hit cup of tea and some nice treats to enjoy. The wedding cake was fab and the right size advised for our numbers on the day.

We cannot rate Gareth enough. He was so easy to deal with and very quick to get back to you. The cakes were absolutely amazing. Everyone commented on the flavours we picked. The service was brilliant. We would highly recommend Gareth for any event.

We chose Gareth to make our wedding cake and it was the best decision we made throughout the wedding planning. We have been to a few weddings where Gareth had made the cakes so I knew when it was our turn to find someone to make our wedding cake it was always going to be GBC cakes without a doubt!!! We meet with Gareth for our cake tasting and from the minute we sat down he was so professional and helped us so much with our cake choice. Anything we asked Gareth he was so happy to help. We went with 3 tiers , Victoria sponge, lemon drizzle and white chocolate and honeycomb. When we seen our cake on our wedding day it was thee most amazing cake, it was perfect and the taste was even better every tier was delicious. We can’t thank GBC cakes enough and would highly recommend to any future couples!!!!

Highly recommend Gareth. Great with communication and once I booked I had put the cake out of my mind until I got an email from Gareth the week before to finalise flavours, design and payment. I didn't need to give it a second thought after. The 3 tier cake was there set up by him the morning of the wedding and there was more than enough for 70 of us - would have fed double that but I wanted 3 tiers! The cake itself was delicious and we got great use of it in the following days for day 2 and relatives staying for a few days. A very important thing to us was that compared to other quotes I got GBC Cakes was great value. At the end of the day it's a cake and I wasn't willing to spend an over the top amount of money on it. I appreciate the work that goes into these cakes but a wedding is an expensive thing and once the cake is yum and the service excellent that's all you can ask for and GBC Cakes provided that 100%

Gareth made our wedding cake back in October and not only was the cake identical to a picture I had sent him but each tier had a different flavour which were all amazing. We choose Chocolate biscuit, red velvet, baileys madeira and lemon drizzle and they exceed my expectation. The tasting box has so many gorgeous flavours its hard to narrow it down. Would definitely order again for other occassions and highly recommend.

He was a dream to deal with, as we changed our Wedding date 5 times, due to covid19, he was so accommodating and nothing was an issue. Gareth was amazing to have from start to finish he was so kind to us throughout our postponement and we were incredibly lucky that he was still available for our new date. We had the pleasure of meeting gareth in person when he invited us to taste samples of his cakes! I had to be rolled out and found it extremely hard to choose a flavour as they were all amazing. We opted for a 2 tier buttercream cake filled with Belgian chocolate biscuit and Lime and Coconut sponge for our 2nd tier! Our guests and ourselves couldn't get over how scrumptious both the cakes were, gareth is a true talent and a pure professional and pulled out all the stops In ensuring we had the cake of our dreams I would like to highly recommend Gareth and we cant thank you enough for your time effort and sheer talent so thank you, thank you thank you

Gareth was a perfect vendor to deal with, as we where planning during Covid we never got to meet in person but he was always very response by phone & email. He sent us out a fab taster box (it took us 2 days to try them all). He looked over reference pictures he gave us a very competitive quote, offered to lend us a wooden base to match in with our theme at no additional cost - the cake was delivered & set up at the venue on morning of our wedding without any fuss- we where delighted with the final product and got great feedback (luckily we got to keep a few slices for our honeymoon!). Gareth made us the most beautiful three tier cake for our wedding day last month. Not only did it look stunning but it tasted delicious. The cake box was such a treat and in the end we went with chocolate biscuit, red velvet and lemon drizzle and each tier was as nice as the other! We cannot thank you enough. Gbc Cakes were just amazing to deal with. We booked very last minute and were so glad we did. Gareth made us a bespoke 2 tier cake filled with Rum and Raisin Biscuit Cake and a Baileys Madeira Cake with Oreo buttercream. Gareth sourced us a beautiful cake topper and took care of all the flowers for decoration also. It was the perfect service. We both highly recommend him and look forward to eat his cakes again.

Gareth provided the most amazing food menu for our DIY wedding at home earlier this year. His professionalism and attention to detail is second to none. He went above and beyond for us, accommodating us rescheduling our wedding, providing a wedding cake taster box for us during covid restrictions to ensure we didn’t miss out on the wedding experience. He decorated our tables and provided an excellent service that guests still talk about. He is a true gentleman and so very easy to deal with. We will be forever grateful to Gareth for providing a stress free day for us and for producing fabulous food and service. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely tasting box from Gareth with all the cake flavours to choose from. It was a nice thing to do during lockdown and helped us choose our 3 different tiers. The design of our cake was so amazing, all of our guests were blown away by it! Loved it and really didn’t want to cut it (ruin it!) We went for lemon drizzle, red velvet and coffee with an espresso cream filling. The flavours were so delicious and Gareth made my vision into a reality! We couldn’t recommend gareth enough for our wedding cake. Unfortunately we had to do our wedding in covid but gareth made our cake feel like we had our proper wedding day he done every little detail and touch that we asked for and the three different flavors was out of this world no doubt about it.

Gareth what can we say you are absolutely amazing and we really cant thank you enough for all your help and assistance over the last year. I'm sure it has been so stressful for you with all the chopping and changing we had to do but nothing was a hassle and you were always so calming to chat with. We had to Change or date from April to November due to the Covid 19 pandemic. When November came we decided to pull the date again and decided on a date in January 2021. Due to the governments new measures announced for weddings after 2nd of January we were lucky enough to tie the knot on the 31st of December. Gareth got 2 days notice to make our wedding cake and still managed to work his magic and made us the most elegant and delicious cake we ever could have asked for. We chose his White Chocolate and Honeycomb Biscuit cake for our base tier and all I can say is WOW this is a real treat, I didn't want to share it with anyone. We then chose Lemon Drizzle with lemon curd filling, there was a fantastic flavour from this cake and you could really taste the tang of the lemon and the lemon curd was so silky smooth. Our top tier was Red Velvet filled with Cream Cheese and Passion fruit Buttercream. It was so light, the filling was so creamy and not to sweet or overpowering with cream cheese and the passion fruit gave it a lovely bump. The cake was elegantly iced and finished with flowers and greenery which was all provided by Gareth so it took the hassle out of it for us having to order extra flowers. Gareth Even gave us advice on the best cake topper to choose. Brides and Grooms all I can say is don't pass this man. He is just so nice to deal with, so professional and all willing to give the best advise to suit your needs. As i said he only ended up getting 2 days notice to make our cake and he still didn't let us down. We Can't wait to use GBC Cakes again. We booked Gareth for our cake over 2 years ago when we starting wedding planning, as we had gotten amazing cakes from him before and I trusted him to do exactly what I wanted. This year, like so many other brides and grooms, I was under serious stress of postponing or not, and we decided to go ahead with a small ceremony and Gareth was so helpful in helping me decide on a smaller more suitable cake for our intimate wedding. The cake itself was absolutely amazing and our guests loved it, it even lasted for most Christmas as our desert! I couldn’t recommend Gareth enough, he was such a pleasure to deal with.

Gareth created the most beautiful and tasty wedding cake for us. He was so easy to deal with and the cake got so many complements on the day. Gareth was lovely to work with from start to finish. So friendly and open to designs. Our wedding cake was amazing, our guests were in raves about it. They demolished it, so glad we stayed with the original sized cake even though we had a smaller wedding. Several took his details to enjoy more in the future. Gareths biscuit cake is honestly the nicest we have ever had, it just melts in your mouth. Cannot wait for another excuse for a party to order more!

Gareth's cakes were delicious, and everyone commented as to how much they enjoyed them. When we had to change to lower numbers, Gareth was very helpful and reasonable in his pricing and he helped make our day a lot easier. I contacted Gareth a couple of months ago and had advised him of my wedding date, although i haven't got mny responses of him on the running up on the wedding, he was very responsive closer to the wedding date. i thought this was actually a good idea as deciding on a cake/design too early would normally change throughout time. Once Gareth was responding about the request, he was polite and very helpful as i was a bride-to-be who wasn't very sure about the types/styles of cakes. He was catering for a chinese wedding. He was able to design the most important symbol ? (happiness) on a cake which is very important in a chinese wedding. The cake design that i requested was very "simple" but Gareth managed to make the cake look powerful and elegant as well as keeping it within the "simple" guidelines of my request.

We chose Gareth and GBC Cakes following many recommendations from friends/colleagues. We were so impressed with what we saw of his work online and when we reached out to him, his professionalism, friendliness and creativity matched just that! He guided us in the right direction for our cake as we had no clue in regards to size, flavours etc to suit us and our guests. We showed him some ideas and designs we liked and he went above and beyond with his own personal touch. The cake was absolutely delicious and not a single piece wasted. Delighted! Gareth is excellent.WOW!!! The cake he made for our wedding was superb both to look at and taste. The design was exactly what we wanted, it was stunning to look at and tasted unbelievable!!! We got the white belgian chocolate honeycomb biscuit and it was to die for! The other two tiers were lemon drizzle and red velvet and were amazing too. There wasnt a bit of cake left after the wedding it was all polished off, it was that delicious. All our guests where raving about it. Gareth was a pleasure to deal with and makes everything so easy. From the moment I contacted Gareth I knew our wedding cake was in safe hands. Gareth provided us with our half and half county cake, which got great compliments, and gluten free cupcakes for some of our guests. We also got him to make a fruit cake which we put out at our drinks reception and there wasn't a crumb left! We got many compliments on the taste too.

What can I say about Gareth. From the start he was 100% professional and accommodating. I simply had to explain the style I like and the colours I wanted and Gareth understood straight away. I did not have to give the cake a second thought after that as I trusted Gareth 100%. Poor Gareth even had to deliver that cake with the help of the River Rescue in the worst snow storm we've ever seen as we got married on the 2nd March this year. When the country came to a stand still. When all our other suppliers were cancelling due to the snow Gareth made sure at all costs that we had our cake for our wedding day. I really couldn't thank him enough. Plus it tasted amazing. I would recommend Gareth to anyone that would listen to me.

Gareth made our wedding cake in July. From start to finish it was a pleasure to work with him. I had an idea in my head of what I wanted. I took pictures of different cakes to show him the overall colours and designs I wanted and left it all in his capable hands. The cake Gareth produced was absolutely to a T what I had in my head. For someone to be able to piece together exactly what I wanted from so many different pictures and ideas is amazing. The cake not only looked amazing but tasted out of this world. The only cake left was the cake I had the hotel save for me. Which might I add travelled to Australia the following tuesday and still tasted beautiful. From talking and working with Gareth on our wedding cake it is clear the he is a professional at what he does. It is not only a job but he puts his heart and soul into the cakes he bakes.

Where do I start with gareth what a amazing parson to work with he was the best part of planning the wedding because it was the less stressful part thanks to gareth he really go's out of his way to make sure u get exactly what you wanted down to the most tiniest bit when I first got to meet gareth face to face 5 min talking to him about what I wanted he had it and more I was having a vintage style wedding and I wanted my cake to stand out like all brides and with out a doubt gareth had that done that for me not only did it look amazing it tasted amazing gareth was able to do four tiers for us and done all the flavours we wanted the selection of flavours that garet had went on and on and on absolutely amazing flavours you would've never thought of putting together and tasted amazing I cannot recommend this man enough I hope one day I will get to work with him again as I found him the best part of plan on the wedding I wish him all the luck in the world because I no this guy is going far x

We cannot recommend Gareth Connolly high enough. From the moment we met him he put us at ease. I was a coeliac bride so had the biggest fears For my wedding cake. Gareth greeted us so kindly and bent over backwards to make everything perfect for us. We had a 5 Tier Cake and wow. The White Chocolate Biscuit and Honeycomb Biscuit Cake was the last word. As for his Red Velvet it Cake it was so light I felt like I was eating a cloud. We wanted a wacky themed cake to fit our wedding and Gareth, ticked every box. His design was more than what we could ever have imagined for our wedding cake. People kept asking where it was from and who had designed it for us. It was a real talking point of the evening. So many fantastic compliments on the taste too (especially for been 100% gluten free) Delivery and set up was also done but gareth which too a big stress off us not having to worry about setting it up. Gareth made our wedding cake last year and to say we were pleased is an understatement. He made exactly what I asked for, very elegant, classy and timeless that will always look good in my photo album. He did everything to perfection and every tier was as delicious as the next.
