What I offer and what I do:
My name is Jo and I love to create ceremony, I've almost 10 years experience in celebrating life's special milestones. I'm a One Spirit Minister creating meaningful ceremonies for all. Your ceremony is important as it sets the tone of your entire day. I welcome diversity and inclusivity. Ceremony should be full of love, lots and lots of fun, smiles and laughter and all of it sprinkled with a little bit of magic which I promise to deliver which will make your day special and make it a memorable experience for you and for all your guests to remember forever.
As someone once said "marriage is like fingerprints, each one is different and each one is beautiful"
I am professionally trained and I am an approved legal solemniser with many years of experience. If you would like a few words in Irish I would be delighted to include this also.

I cannot express enough that in booking Jo you will not be disappointed! Jo is amazing at her job. She told our story so beautifully with some fun added in. We first saw Jo at a friends wedding and knew she was the one for us. A lot of our guests had never been to civil ceremony and Jo was a big talking point after the ceremony our guests were so impressed with her as were we. We cannot recommend Jo enough for your wedding celebrations you will not be disappointed.

We had the most amazing wedding ceremony thanks to Jo. From the first phone call to Jo she was just so easy to talk to. Jo put us both at ease before the ceremony and she came outside to meet me before the ceremony and relaxed me. The ceremony was so personal was so lovely and we had some great laughs. A lot of people said it was one of the best ceremonies they were at and have to agree. Thank you so much Jo for getting our day off to a great start. I could not recommend Jo enough, she did such a wonderful job on our wedding ceremony. Everyone commented on how beautiful and personal the ceremony was. You could tell Jo had worked hard to make the ceremony so special! Even helping the groom keep his cool and me find the right hand for the wedding ring!!

Than you both for the review and for having me as part of your amazing day. Ive known you both for a long time now but when I got the call asking me to be your officiant I was really delighted and excited. You knew exactly what you wanted and very much the vibe you wanted and I thing we managed to pull that off 100%. Malcom scrubbed up well and made quite the dash at the top of the alter waiting on his absolutely stunning bride - Jacqui you were radiant!!

We were lucky to have Jo as our wedding celebrant and couldn't recommend her highly enough. She took the time to get to know us as a couple and by doing so, she put together a really special ceremony that was personal to us and made us feel so special on the day. Jo did a fantastic job on our ceremony. She tailored it to our liking which included lots of music, our cat as ring bearer and a few different rituals. She conveyed our love story beautifully and it was very a personal ceremony. It was very unique and we, along with all of our guests, loved it. I would highly recommend Jo.

I loved that you did your homework before contacting me, you had done your research and watched my videos, so you knew exactly what you wanted and what we were doing. Having your lovely cat there on your day was really special and your Garfield was amazing and did a great job #lovepetsatweddings and the music was amazing ( you made excellent choices ).

Where to start when it come to Jo she is just amazing at what she does from every email to the day itself. She made our ceremony so personal to us and light hearted and I couldn’t recommend her enough our guests complimented how amazing she is and how the personal stories about each of us that she shared with such love was beyond anything I was expecting. If you have her booked already your in for a real treat and if not you should you won’t be disappointed it’s a ceremony like no other ✨ Jo is so lovely and down to earth and sets the tone perfectly for the day 🤍 we couldn’t of been any happier to become husband and wife with her as our celebrant 💕

Jo was amazing! Our first call together we were chatting away for over an hour, it was like catching up with an old friend and I knew she was the perfect celebrant for us!
She made everything super easy and simple for us to understand, there was no pressure and she really took the time to get to know us as a couple. Jo made the ceremony so special with a fun and light hearted feel so we could easily relax. She also always looks so fab and sounds great for those wedding videos! She had already performed lots of weddings at our venue and with our musicians so we knew we could leave everything in her hands to coordinate and everything went very smoothly. Jo married us on June 4th 2024. I have known Jo for a few years now since first moving to Gorey. My parents used to stay in her wonderful B&B before myself and Tom had brought our house.
She was always an absolute pleasure and would do anything for anybody!
When we got to planning our wedding, I knew from the get go that Jo was the person I wanted to have perform our ceremony.
She was so thorough at finding out exactly what we wanted, and we ended up with the most perfect wedding ceremony. All of our guests were commenting on how nice it was.
Jo, of course, brought humor to our nuptials, which we were so relieved about, because it totally took all the stress away. The ceremony was relaxed, full of love, and laughter.
She worked great with everyone involved, from our co ordinator, to our singer, to make sure absolutely everything ran smoothly.

Jo was our celebrant at our June 1st wedding a few weeks ago. From very first contact with Jo, I knew she was the right choice for us. She explained our options for the ceremony and was so friendly and helpful throughout.
On the day, our ceremony was amazing! She managed to capture us in our 'Love Story', it definitely made it more special and personal.

My wife and I, got married in Clonabreany House, Co. Meath in May and we can’t thank Jo enough for making our wedding an unforgettable experience. Jo’s passion and dedication shone through as we had a beautiful ceremony filled with love, laughter and celebration. Jo helped us create memories that we will cherish for a lifetime. Jo very kindly stepped in to officiate our wedding at the last minute when our original celebrant had to cancel due to illness.
Jo took the reigns from the get go. She is so warm and approachable and nothing as an issue.
We held a beautiful Ceremony in Darver Castle - even with bulging discs!! she powered though and made our day so special.

Well what can I say about Jo. We got married on 3rd June 2023 in Ashdown Hotel, Gorey. From day one Jo guided us through the whole process. She made our wedding service all about myself and Declan and our love story. We had to write our love story and not show each other what we had written until Jo read them out during the ceromony. She brought fun and entertainment to our service. Our favourite part of the ceromony was definitely the hand tie fasting. A lot of our friends and families had never been to a civil ceromony before and said it was a beautiful ceromony made all the more special by Jo. She made everyone feel relaxed all guests thoroughly enjoyed the ceromony.
I would highly recommend Jo She made the whole process so simple and meant we could enjoy it from day 1.

Jo was absolutely amazing. She made the whole process seamless. She walked us through the ceremony in detail before the day and she took plenty of time to get to know us, our story and our family and friends. She also advised us on getting the very important green folder!
On the day, she arrived in plenty of time, set up, and had time to talk to all the relevant people. She took us through the ceremony and had the guests involved in the hand tying ceremony, after which everyone complemented.

Our first meeting with Jo McAteer was at her home and we instantly clicked with her, finding her to be a very warm, caring and engaging person . She listened to how we wanted the format of our ceremony to be and suggested various options regarding prayers and readings.
During the run-up to the Wedding, Jo was always only a phone call away and when our big day arrived, Jo delighted us with the most personal and touching ceremony that we could have wished for.

We really couldn't have asked for a better celebrant than Jo. The guests never stopped talking about her for weeks after the wedding.
Jo is so professional at what she does but always knew what to say to keep us calm on our big day. The main comment was how personal and romantic the ceremony was, totally different to any other wedding they had ever experienced.

Jo was just fantastic. The ceremony was everything we wanted and more. Conducting the wedding outside brought it's own unique challenges but Jo took them all in her stride. We had many compliments from our guests about how interesting and personal it was. I really couldn't have been happier.

We booked Jo for our wedding, and we’re so incredibly glad we did! She was recommended to us by someone local, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions we made for our special day.
Our guests couldn’t stop raving about how personal and fun our ceremony was. Jo took the time to connect with us multiple times before the wedding, really making the effort to get to know us as a couple. She understood how much we value laughter and joy, and she brought those elements into our ceremony in the most meaningful and tasteful way.
