Firstly I?d like to thank Janet and Catherine for their kindness & professional service.
Trying on Wedding dresses as a plus sized gal is a scary thought but Catherine & Janet are so easy going & fun thay it was one of the easiest things I did. I enjoyed driving down to see them.
My dress was fitted to me perfectly- the ladies made sure I was comfortable & more importantly looked fabulous.
I honestly can?t recommend Ruben Bridal highly enough - go on visiit you know you want to :-)

I cannot recommend Catherine and Janet in Ruben Bridal highly enough. As a plus size bride (size 20), I was dreading the whole "wedding dress shopping" experience as most shops don't carry large sample sizes. Once I rang to inquire about the sizes of their samples, Catherine put my mind at ease. The ladies were so professional and could not have been nicer from the first moment I contacted them. They made me feel so at ease and were not pushy or never tried to direct me to a dress I was not mad about. I could have picked a number of different dresses as they had such a large variety of beautiful styles in the store.
As I had to travel a long distance to my fittings, they were very accommodating. When my dress came in, I had put on some weight but Janet immediately worked her magic and the dress fitted me like a glove on the day. She never made me feel bad or that we couldn't make the dress work. Her alteration skills are second to none.
Catherine and Janet made the experience so enjoyable. Thank you so much.
If you are a plus size bride, I would advise you to pay these ladies a visit. You wont be disappointed.

After coming home from my honeymoon, the one thing on my mind was to compliment and praise Ruben Bridal in Calverstown. Janet & Catherine made my wedding dress shopping a truly great & enjoyable experience. I was a size 18-20 at the time and was dreading the whole 'dress' shopping part of the wedding prep. However on arrival to Ruben Bridal, my fears went straight out the window. Janet & Catherine were brilliant. So helpful and had so many beautiful gowns, I could have happily picked 3/4 dresses that I loved at the time. Not once did Janet or Catherine try to push me towards any particular dress but listened to what I liked about each dress until we got 'the one'! Once the dress came in and the fittings started, we had such a laugh and chat whilst I was there! I cannot recommend Ruben highly enough. If I had known that they provided such a fantastic friendly and professional service, I would never had the worries I had beforehand. Enjoy the experience and lap it up - its not often that you are made feel so special and like a princess:-)

I have just bought the dress of my dreams from Ruben Bridal. As a "big girl" (size 18) I was nervous and apprehensive about shopping for my dress. Janet and Catherine put me completely at ease and made me and my Mam feel more than welcome. After trying on about 8 dresses or so I found the perfect dress. They never once pushed me to buy or make a decision there and then. I went home beaming and rang the next day to order my dress. They made me feel like the special blushing bride to be that everyone wants to be. I can't wait for June so I can show my dress off to the world.

I just bought my dress at Ruben Bridal and I cannot praise them highly enough. The entire experience was an absolute pleasure, especially seen as I was completely wary of trying on dresses!
They have a wonderful selection and a great range of sizes, how nice it was to be able to slip on 8/9 dresses without worrying if they were going to fit and with no pressure to make a purchase.
I highly recommend them for any 'plus size' girls who find the thought of the wedding dress circuit as daunting as I did. Luckily I went to Ruben Bridal first and picked the most amazing dress in 45 minutes!! I cant wait to wear it at my wedding in June.

I bought my wedding dress from Ruben Bridal last year and can honestly say the whole experience from start to finish was a pleasure. Catherine and Janet were very helpful and great at picking dresses which would suit me. At no stage were they pushy or putting pressure on me to buy or even choose one! The shop is very comfortable and you have their undivided attention while you are there.

I visited Ruben Bridal today [06/02/10]really believing that I wouldn't find a dress in "my size". I came away 90 minutes later feeling on cloud 9. After trying on at least 8 - 10 dresses [that fitted or were too big], I found "the dress". What can I say about Catherine and Janet? Not enough! They are absolutely brilliant and made me feel "beautiful". Oh and I got my bridesmaid her dress there too! I would highly recommend Ruben Bridal. I can't thank you enough Janet and Catherine for making my visit such a pleasure. I look forward to collecting my dress in a few months. Thanks again :-) Jeanne

We visited Ruben Bridal last Saturday (11/10/08) to have a look at Bridesmaid dresses. Catherine and Janet were absolutely fantastic, they were so welcoming and made us feel really comfortable. I would recommend them to absolutely everybody - we came out of the shop feeling better than we did when we arrived. It was an absolute pleasure ladies - thank you so much for all your help.

I found Ruben Bridal to have an excellent collection of dresses for the fuller figured bride.
Catherine & Janet made me feel so welcome and their shop is fabulous.

On the afternoon I arrived with my two bridesmaids to Ruben bridal I had reached the end of my tether. With the budget, time frame and my stature I was restricted with other shops I had been too.
Despite my heavyhearted domineer as I explained to Catherine what I was dreaming of, she quickly lifted my spirits with a verity of options for me to try on.
It was from that moment on that I knew I had come to the right place. Catherine gave me an option that would be a risk but one I 100% think it was worth taking. And just like that I had said ?Yes to the Dress?
It wasn?t until my first fitting till I met Janet. Another lady that made me feel like a princess when I tried the dress on for the first time. Janet also gave me some advise on the headpiece I was making myself for the day.
These two ladies made an experience that I wasn?t looking forward to seem like a piece of cake with every visit. And I would gladly recommend every Bride make an appointment with the ladies.
