Music was always one of the most important things to us from the moment we started planning the wedding. We couldn't believe our luck when we saw Velvet Lounge Band were available for the big day! The guys were friendly and professional throughout initial correspondence and planning. On the day, they were a definite highlight for ourselves and guests. Playing an extensive and varied and highly danceable setlist with a rich ensemble of instrumentation. There was really something for everyone. They also did an unforgettable job of our requested first dance number. They offered various packages including additional members of the ensemble, live reception music, and DJ. We opted for the full band and DJ.
I wouldn't hesitate for a second in recommending Velvet Lounge Band, particularly for the music lovers!

Velvet lounge were a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. They were consummate professionals in all our interactions but, more importantly, are exceptional musicians who know how to ensure everyone is on the dancefloor all night. From the drinks reception, to the night time entertainment, their talent shone through and they were the talk of the wedding! I couldn't recommend them any more highly. If you like good music, you will love them.

We were really looking forward to the band on our wedding day, and they delivered! Fantastic music, kept our dance floor full and it was fun for all age groups. The band were responsive via email and took some of our thoughts into consideration around particular songs which was great. It made the evening a fantastic party and a special memory for my wife and I. Highly recommend.

We got married Sept 2023.We shopped around for a band that would suit our wedding guests and give us a range of music that would be easy to listen to ,able to chat while listening to it and get up and dance like you do at weddings ,if we wanted to! and boy did we get the whole package .The entire night was superb ,the style and variety of music was beyond our expectations and the lead singer is top drawer standard .Velvet lounge do exactly what they say on their promo.I stumbled across them and we count ourselves lucky to have done that .They made our wedding ,a day to remember ,All our guests complimented the music and singer ,Velvet lounge had us all on the floor and we wanted more .Very pleasant to deal with and hassle free .We would recommend them as a wedding band for sure ,superb .

We booked the reception trio, 8 piece band and DJ. All were excellent. The floor was full from start to finish for the band and DJ. Our guests had an absolute ball. All ages were accommodated for and the night was absolutely magic.

These guys will not disappoint, they were fantastic, everyone at our wedding loved them -young & old, all our guests were on the dancefloor all night and we keep getting comments about how brilliant they were....as for the DJ - WOW he was amazing , had the place on fire it was hilarious !!! We chose Velvet Lounge as our wedding band having found them online. After watching several of their promo videos on repeat, we knew quickly that they were exactly what we had been looking for. Cormac was very responsive to any questions we had coming up to our big day. The music on the day was professional and of high quality, enjoyed by all. The Velvet Lounge Band are not your average wedding band, they really bring a different and very professional sound. Several guests including some musicians were very impressed with the 7 piece band. (Other options available). The dance floor was full from start to finish. We really enjoyed their set which reflected our preferences. Highly recommend this band.

We booked the 6 piece Velvet Lounge for the evening entertainment after the wedding dinner. They were amazing from start to finish. Very professional. Silky smooth singing. Dance floor was full. Would love to book them again (if only!). And they were good to let me join in for a couple of songs as well (made our night).

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant! We had a small wedding - about 60 - and the band played after the meal and provided equipment so we were able to have a disco afterwards. They are brilliant musicians and performers and managed to create a big sound but also to keep it intimate. From the wedding dance to the closing number they were phenomenal. I had been a bit worried about people dancing but it just wasn't a problem - the energy was superb and the dance was full throughout. They have a brilliant repertoire and also turned out to be really sound. It was incredibly easy to deal with from the very first phone call. The advice they gave was spot-on and I was really glad of it as there were enough things to get stressed about. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these guys. I'd happily pay to see them on a night out. If you like the vibe go for it. They are brilliant and you won't regret it.

We couldn't have asked for a better band for our wedding! We booked their jazz trio for drinks reception, the 8-piece band for the evening after dinner and the late-night DJ and they set a great vibe for the whole event.

We had a fabulous experience with The Velvet Lounge Band. From the very beginning they were great to deal with and very professional. We wanted something different for our wedding and they were the talk of the night. Absolutely fantastic band. Performance was excellent - we had 2 hours booked and they were great from beginning to end. The whole dance floor was up the whole time. We had them as a jazz trio as well during cocktails which was quite nice and really set the mood we were looking for. We also booked their DJ who was great for the rest of the night. The transition was seamless. Everything else was completely professional. Did not have to worry about a thing. We really enjoyed having them play our wedding and would recommend them as a band (6 piece is what we had) and the jazz trio as well as their DJ.

Absolutely outstanding! The swing and jazz tone was exactly what we were looking for with a few of the wedding classics thrown in to keep everybody happy. These guys are proper musicians with incredible talent, at one stage I felt like I was at a Paolo Nutini gig! If you're into your music and want the authenticity of some brass and wood with non-stop energy, Velvet Lounge will not dissapoint!

With a guest list already awash with musicians we wanted a professional act for our wedding reception, not lame cabaret versions of chart hits by a Jack-The-Lad covers band with delusions of grandeur. Velvet Lounge was a great choice. You don't tell them what to play, you book them for their extensive repertoire and their quick-thinking ability to sense what songs will work best for the audience on the night. Yes, they cost a bit more than most bands on the Irish wedding circuit and for good reason. Away from the wedding environment they are also session musicians in their own right. With clear communication from beginning to end, a straightforward payment process, a good PA system and their own stage lighting, Velvet Lounge turned up on time and gave a professional, polished, elegant, grown-up, fun performance that appealed to an audience of all ages. Our guests have been telling us in the weeks since how good they thought the band was.
If you don't want to worry about the standard of your wedding's live entertainment, book this outfit. They will not disappoint.

The Velvet Lounge band were incredible, if you haven?t booked them by now, do it before it?s too late! Very professional and their set up is slick. They brought an up beat classy vibe to our wedding and the floor was full all night. We opted for the additional brass and it sounded amazing. They are a little less conventional but it?s their unique sound that brought a great buzz to our wedding!! Everyone commented on how great they were!

We searched for wedding bands for some time before coming across the Velvet Lounge Band. We were looking for a band that would be both versatile and lively. We also needed a band that could appeal to diverse age groups. They delivered, hitting all the marks for us on our wedding day. Although we had seen and liked their music online, the in-person live experience was something else. They had everyone enjoying themselves on the dance floor, playing a variety of modern classics. Their lead singer has a soulful, engaging voice and the band are masters of their craft. They played well known songs in their own inimitable and memorable style. A class act end to end. We thoroughly recommend them, particularly if you?re looking for something a little more unique to accompany your big day.

These guys are the best! We had a new years eve wedding and wanted a good party vibe, but really classy too. Cormac and the band played a brilliant set and the dance floor was never empty.They made everyone's new years eve and really made our wedding. They were so chilled and professional to liaise with which made us feel really at ease. I couldn't recommend them enough!

The music was absolutely outstanding, really, really fantastic. They are all incredible musicians and clearly enjoy what they do which really adds to the whole experience. This review is a little late as we've had a busy few months since the wedding, but that delay does not reflect our enthusiasm for Velvet Lounge. We first Velvet Lounge playing in a bar next door to another wedding we were attending, and the gulf between them and that wedding's band was enormous. Great live music was, along with good food, the most important things we wanted for our wedding event. We booked them on that night.

We encountered a number of challenges in carrying out our wedding plans. Our venue cancelled and we had to move dates and times at relatively short notice. Velvet Lounge were extremely understanding and thankfully were available to facilitate the change. They were also extremely easy to communicate with and patient as we went through the motions of stress-induced meltdown.

On the night, the band was truly superb. We had only a few requests, and the band blew it out of the water. The set was incredibly tight: we had a number of professional musicians in our crowd who all commented how impressively well-tuned the band were as a group.

Everyone who could, got up and danced.

A very professional group. We wanted a more chilled vibe to our wedding and this is exactly what Velvet Lounge provided. We told them that we wanted a house party vibe and that was exactly what they provided.Everyone commented on how good they were. They work well with the crowd. They fulfilled all of my requests for the day. They were also extremely flexible as we changed the start time and we also ran a little late on the day. C?an and Cormac are very easy to work with. I have absolutely no hesitation recommending the Velvet Lounge band. All age groups in the audience absolutely loved their performance at our wedding. The dance floor was full from start to finish which built up the momentum for the DJ thereafter. High quality vocals, music and high energy, couldn't ask for more!

We had the pleasure of having The Velvet Lounge play our wedding, on 01/12/18 and I could not recommend them enough to all future brides and grooms! For my husband and I, the quality of the music at our wedding was very important to us (second only to the quality of the food!). We had done a lot of research on bands, prior to the wedding and had been to numerous showcases. We saw the Velvet Lounge Band, in The Westin Hotel, before we booked them and they had the dancefloor full from the get go. They are a professional band and it is evident in the quality of their musicians and lead singer. At no point throughout the night was our dancefloor empty. Our guests were actually pleading for them to do one bad song, so they could sit down and have a rest! Guests were astounded by the Velvet Lounge Band and several commented they were one of the best wedding bands they had ever heard! We also had the jazz trio for our drinks reception and the Velvet Lounge Band DJ for after the band and they were fabulous! We couldn't recommend the Velvet Lounge Band enough to future brides and grooms. Regardless of your wedding guest demographics, or whether your guests enjoy pop, rock, swing, jazz, or country - they will love The Velvet Lounge Band. Our guests certainly did and even now, over a month later, our guests are still asking after them. I think that's a true testament to their quality of service. I'm a musician myself and I was highly impressed by how quickly they set up, and how polished the sound was with barely doing a soundcheck! Cian and Cormac are so nice and the communication when booking them was excellent. They're also very flexible if you have any requests. I can't recommend them enough. Worth every penny!

We're so delighted we chose the Velvet Lounge Band for our wedding. The lads were so easy to deal with in the lead up to the wedding and were very flexible in driving all the way to Blairscove. We loved the music and our guests did too on the day. Everyone from the youngest child to the not-so-young priest was up dancing! We would highly recommend them. If you're reading this because you like the sound of the Velvets, take our advice - BOOK THEM NOW. We got married 6 weeks ago and the lads absolutely brought the house down. They could not (genuinely) have been more brilliant, friendly, responsive, fun and talented. The dance floor was full all night, from kids to oldies. Claire (my wife) and I spent the night dancing. The lads also learned a song for us and were so great about it.

Because of their style (not a pop band, basically) we worried a little that it wouldn't be people's 'thing'. We knew it's the kind of music we dance to, but had a small concern about it being a bit too 'jazzy' for some people. The opposite was true: it brought everyone out of themselves and was totally accessible.

Something to mention here is that it seems to me that with these guys you're getting proper 'gigging' musicians, not just a wedding band. They evidently love performing with each other, and have a brilliant set list. Cormac is such an extraordinary vocalist, and brings a touch of class to everything he sings.

The lads arrived exactly when they said they would, nobody noticed them setting up, they gave us the nod at exactly the time we asked them to start, and they smashed it for 2.5 hours.

I'm going on and on - you get the picture. We still smile when we think about the fun we had with these guys and you will not be disappointed.

We were so delighted that the Velvet Lounge were available to play at our wedding. From the moment we contacted them,we knew we were in good hands. Cormac and Cian were so efficient and lovely to email. The band were amazing. When they played our first dance,it was as if we were transported back in time,complete elegance. Cormac was so accommodating,he even learned the clarinet to ensure our first dance was perfect. The band even played Christmas songs in such a beautiful style. Not only did the Velvet Lounge have classics,they also played modern hits in their own flawless style. They have such an eclectic repertoire that the dance floor was full for the night. All of our guests were so impressed,they all wanted to know their name. It was a dream come true to have the Velvet Lounge play at our wedding and would highly recommend them to everybody.

The Velvet Lounge are incredible! From the moment we came across their video online we knew that there wasn't going to be another band to top them. And we were right. They kept the dance floor full all night with their fantastic selection of music. People that we never expected to see on the dance floor were up there giving it socks. You couldn't help but dance. Guests were still speaking about them the next day and how fantastic they sounded. I wish we could do it all over again. This was honestly the best part of our wedding. Velvet Lounge's videos online, amazing as they are, do not do justice to what this band sounds like in person. From beginning to end we had excellent experiences with them. They were quick to respond to our initial contact - this is so important in terms of customer service. Any little questions/request we had, they got back to us about very quickly and accommodated very smoothly. We had specifics about our first dance song which were flawlessly executed. We sent them the link of the song, we wanted to change the tempo of the song and change a few lyrics of the song too - they did it all no problem. We asked them to make a couple of announcements, and they did this so wonderfully. WE also asked them for feedback about the the order in which to do things, and they were happy to oblige. They have so much wedding experience so it was great to hear their advice. Their setting up was super quick and subtle. We barely felt that they were in the background setting up when the reception began. Their togetherness as a band was perfect. Everyone was so surprised that this was not a music track, that this was not the radio or a DJ, that this was actually live. Every single guest commented on this. It was just amazing. I come from a musical background myself (I am a classically-trained cellist, and I only say this to boost my credibility as a feedback giver of this band) and I could not have enjoyed myself more at my own wedding. The DJ they provided as well was phenomenal - all the types of songs we wanted, and willing to take requests. We are so grateful to Velvet Lounge for making our celebration so special and perfect. We would hire them again and would recommend them to anyone who likes this type of music - jazzy, classy, fun and makes you want to dance. Thank you so very much Velvet Lounge!

It wasn't a wedding but rather a Gatsby themed 50th birthday party that we had the band play for. The music was perfect , the lads were smart, professional and very accommodating to all our requests before the event. We danced the night away and would happily recommend the Velvet Lounge Band for any wedding or event. They made our party swing !

The Velvet Lounge band were absolutely fantastic, Cian and Cormac were extremely nice and easy to communicate with. The band performed our requested first dance and from start to finish were simply brilliant, the dance-floor was filled the entire time they played and we received many many positive remarks from our guests as to just how good the band were. Finding a band for our wedding reception was quite difficult. Most bands we seen were quite repetitive so when we came across The Velvet Lounge Band we knew that we had found something special and unique. The Velvet Lounge provided an outstanding service from the initial enquiry to the wedding reception. The quality and professionalism was fantastic and both we and our guests loved the music being performed. The band very kindly agreed to sing our first dance which was not a song that they had performed before. They arranged the song brilliantly and having them sing our first dance was incredibly special and helped the natural flow of the evening. I couldn't recommend them enough. If we had to do it all again they would be our only choice.

We had an absolute blast with Velvet Lounge at our wedding. Their performance was flawless from start to finish and they had great energy which kept people dancing the whole night. A super smooth, talented band of musicians and vocalists who brought the 'wow factor' to our wedding.
