Music was always one of the most important things to us from the moment we started planning the wedding. We couldn't believe our luck when we saw Velvet Lounge Band were available for the big day! The guys were friendly and professional throughout initial correspondence and planning. On the day, they were a definite highlight for ourselves and guests. Playing an extensive and varied and highly danceable setlist with a rich ensemble of instrumentation. There was really something for everyone. They also did an unforgettable job of our requested first dance number. They offered various packages including additional members of the ensemble, live reception music, and DJ. We opted for the full band and DJ.
I wouldn't hesitate for a second in recommending Velvet Lounge Band, particularly for the music lovers!

We were really looking forward to the band on our wedding day, and they delivered! Fantastic music, kept our dance floor full and it was fun for all age groups. The band were responsive via email and took some of our thoughts into consideration around particular songs which was great. It made the evening a fantastic party and a special memory for my wife and I. Highly recommend.

We booked the reception trio, 8 piece band and DJ. All were excellent. The floor was full from start to finish for the band and DJ. Our guests had an absolute ball. All ages were accommodated for and the night was absolutely magic.

We chose Velvet Lounge as our wedding band having found them online. After watching several of their promo videos on repeat, we knew quickly that they were exactly what we had been looking for. Cormac was very responsive to any questions we had coming up to our big day. The music on the day was professional and of high quality, enjoyed by all. Velvet Lounge even learned our first dance song, which we will be forever grateful for. The DJ provided was top notch also - we had many questionable requests. Thanks so much again guys! Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant! We had a small wedding - about 60 - and the band played after the meal and provided equipment so we were able to have a disco afterwards. They are brilliant musicians and performers and managed to create a big sound but also to keep it intimate. From the wedding dance to the closing number they were phenomenal. I had been a bit worried about people dancing but it just wasn't a problem - the energy was superb and the dance was full throughout. They have a brilliant repertoire and also turned out to be really sound. It was incredibly easy to deal with from the very first phone call. The advice they gave was spot-on and I was really glad of it as there were enough things to get stressed about. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these guys. I'd happily pay to see them on a night out. If you like the vibe go for it. They are brilliant and you won't regret it.

We couldn't have asked for a better band for our wedding! We booked their jazz trio for drinks reception, the 8-piece band for the evening after dinner and the late-night DJ and they set a great vibe for the whole event.

We did have to reschedule once due to COVID and they were very responsive and worked with us along the way. Great communication and the setup and performance were seamless with our wedding schedule.

We can't speak highly enough of the Velvet Lounge Band, they were amazing to deal with from the very start. They brought the party to life and gave us such a wonderful night of dancing and fun. We are so glad we booked Velvet Lounge for our wedding. They were easy to deal with, have a great range of songs and got all our guests up and dancing!

Absolutely outstanding! The swing and jazz tone was exactly what we were looking for with a few of the wedding classics thrown in to keep everybody happy. These guys are proper musicians with incredible talent, at one stage I felt like I was at a Paolo Nutini gig! If you're into your music and want the authenticity of some brass and wood with non-stop energy, Velvet Lounge will not dissapoint!

The Velvet Lounge band were incredible, if you haven't booked them by now, do it before it's too late! Very professional and their set up is slick. They brought an up beat classy vibe to our wedding and the floor was full all night. We opted for the additional brass and it sounded amazing. They are a little less conventional but it's their unique sound that brought a great buzz to our wedding!! Everyone commented on how great they were!

These guys are the best! We had a new years eve wedding and wanted a good party vibe, but really classy too. Cormac and the band played a brilliant set and the dance floor was never empty.They made everyone's new years eve and really made our wedding. They were so chilled and professional to liaise with which made us feel really at ease. I couldn't recommend them enough!

This review is a little late as we've had a busy few months since the wedding, but that delay does not reflect our enthusiasm for Velvet Lounge. We first Velvet Lounge playing in a bar next door to another wedding we were attending, and the gulf between them and that wedding's band was enormous. Great live music was, along with good food, the most important things we wanted for our wedding event. We booked them on that night.

We encountered a number of challenges in carrying out our wedding plans. Our venue cancelled and we had to move dates and times at relatively short notice. Velvet Lounge were extremely understanding and thankfully were available to facilitate the change. They were also extremely easy to communicate with and patient as we went through the motions of stress-induced meltdown.

On the night, the band was truly superb. We had only a few requests, and the band blew it out of the water. The set was incredibly tight: we had a number of professional musicians in our crowd who all commented how impressively well-tuned the band were as a group.

Everyone who could, got up and danced.

We had very high expectations of the band and they delivered in spectacular fashion. Thanks so much.

Cormac and the rest of the Velvet Lounge Band were simply amazing. From the first song, they sounded perfect. Great setlist with an excellent mix of classics and contemporary songs, which kept the dance floor full all night! All the guests commented to me about how good they were. And they were also a pleasure to deal with from the first enquiry, right throughout the process, and quickly answered any queries I had. Would definitely book them again for any function!!

I have absolutely no hesitation recommending the Velvet Lounge band. All age groups in the audience absolutely loved their performance at our wedding. The dance floor was full from start to finish which built up the momentum for the DJ thereafter. High quality vocals, music and high energy, couldn't ask for more!

Velvet Lounge are an excellent band. They are extremely professional and provide a great alternative to the traditional "wedding bands". Everyone at our wedding remarked at how slick they were, how they were lively and interactive and made everyone want to get up and dance.

We were searching for something a little different to the norm and so when we came across Velvet Lounge we knew we had found our band! From start to finish they were the ultimate professionals and replied promptly to any queries or requests we had for our big day! The dancefloor was full from the beginning to end, they really did cater to all ages and tastes. Would highly recommend booking the DJ through them too as the transition was seamless! SO many people commented on the quality of the playing, the set choice, and the general interaction between yourselves and the guests. That you took the time to arrange a particular song for our first dance was utterly brilliant and really made our evening. The balance between the chilled out drinks reception trio, the perfectly judged post-dinner set (which had guests from 6 to 26 and 36 to 86 dancing joyously), and the late night DJ who had us on our feet till the small hours was just perfect. We were so delighted that the Velvet Lounge were available to play at our wedding. From the moment we contacted them,we knew we were in good hands. Cormac and Cian were so efficient and lovely to email. The band were amazing. When they played our first dance,it was as if we were transported back in time,complete elegance. Cormac was so accommodating,he even learned the clarinet to ensure our first dance was perfect. The band even played Christmas songs in such a beautiful style. Not only did the Velvet Lounge have classics,they also played modern hits in their own flawless style. They have such an eclectic repertoire that the dance floor was full for the night. All of our guests were so impressed,they all wanted to know their name. It was a dream come true to have the Velvet Lounge play at our wedding and would highly recommend them to everybody.

This was honestly the best part of our wedding. Velvet Lounge's videos online, amazing as they are, do not do justice to what this band sounds like in person. From beginning to end we had excellent experiences with them. They were quick to respond to our initial contact - this is so important in terms of customer service. Any little questions/request we had, they got back to us about very quickly and accommodated very smoothly. We had specifics about our first dance song which were flawlessly executed. We sent them the link of the song, we wanted to change the tempo of the song and change a few lyrics of the song too - they did it all no problem. We asked them to make a couple of announcements, and they did this so wonderfully. WE also asked them for feedback about the the order in which to do things, and they were happy to oblige. They have so much wedding experience so it was great to hear their advice. Their setting up was super quick and subtle. We barely felt that they were in the background setting up when the reception began. Their togetherness as a band was perfect. Everyone was so surprised that this was not a music track, that this was not the radio or a DJ, that this was actually live. Every single guest commented on this. It was just amazing. I come from a musical background myself (I am a classically-trained cellist, and I only say this to boost my credibility as a feedback giver of this band) and I could not have enjoyed myself more at my own wedding. The DJ they provided as well was phenomenal - all the types of songs we wanted, and willing to take requests. We are so grateful to Velvet Lounge for making our celebration so special and perfect. We would hire them again and would recommend them to anyone who likes this type of music - jazzy, classy, fun and makes you want to dance. Thank you so very much Velvet Lounge!

It wasn't a wedding but rather a Gatsby themed 50th birthday party that we had the band play for. The music was perfect , the lads were smart, professional and very accommodating to all our requests before the event. We danced the night away and would happily recommend the Velvet Lounge Band for any wedding or event. They made our party swing !

We booked this fantastic band to play at our wedding in County Louth, after hearing them play in Dublin. We had very high expectations and Velvet Lounge exceeded then all. They sounded amazing, looked amazing and our dance floor was filled constantly. We couldn't have been more thrilled! We had the Velvet Lounge play at our recent wedding, and I can't recommend them highly enough. The trio played at our outdoor drinks reception, which really added to the garden party vibe - all our guests loved them, and were delighted to hear they'd be back again later. We had the five-piece band in the evening, and they really were wonderful. I highly recommend these guys - they are real professionals, easy to deal with, and fabulous musicians.

A super smooth, talented band of musicians and vocalists who brought the 'wow factor' to our wedding. With a huge set-list to choose from, we gave them a hint of what we liked and they didn't fail to impress. Everyone of our guests had a ball on the dance floor, with a bit of bongo action the icing on the cake! Totally professional to deal with, they set up and were ready to go without us even noticing and left, with a smooth handover to our friend doing the DJing. The Velvet Lounge - totally brilliant!

My grrom & I booked The Velvet Lounge Band after checking out their website- to us they seemed classy, cool, and professional. When we contacted them they came across also as polite, responsive and easy to deal with. We are pleased to say they put on a wonderful performance at our wedding last Saturday. We were so impressed and could not fault the performance at all! Having never watched you live before, we went with our gut, and our expectations were exceeded. We can't tell you how glad we are to have had these guys entertain our guests! (Cormac- what a voice!!).

I recently booked the smaller version (4 piece) of the Velvet Lounge band for a private party in a restaurant. The band were fantastic and perfect for the venue. All the guests, young and old were very happy with the music which was perfect for both listening to and dancing later on.
I wouldn't have any hesitation recommending Cian and Cormac for any occasion.
