Fernhill House Hotel

We had an amazing wedding day at Fernhill House Hotel. From the minute we first visited Fernhill, we were made feel so welcome and the attention to detail was second to none. Everyone was so friendly and we loved that it is a family run hotel. Everyone is raving about the food, the beautiful reception setting in the gardens and the late night session in the residents bar! We are so glad we chose Fernhill as our wedding venue and will definitely be recommending to others.

A special thank you to Ann for coordinating our wedding and for her organisation, attention to detail and honest recommendations. Nothing was too much to ask and our wedding day flowed seamlessly. We had the best day of our lives!

We got married on the 28th June 2024 in the gardens this was a fantastic backdrop for the ceremony and photos , from the moment we visited the venue we knew we would be getting married there.
At our first meeting the wedding planner was professional and asked us everything we had thought about and lots we hadn't.
She gave us lots to think of and prepare but it was so worth it.
The planner kept in contact with us through our journey at important times and was always available to answer an email if we had an extra questions.
We had the most beautiful of days but even if it had rained the hotel have a plan B this was all discussed before hand so we were all on the same page.
The staff the food on the day was outstanding our guests are still talking about the day they had. Even though the following day they were setting up for another wedding they still carried on as professionals in assisting us to enjoy our breakfast and check up.

We had our wedding in fernhill during Christmas 2023 . At an age where we have been overwhelmed with weddings over the past few years and also being from Clonakilty . I am not being biased in saying fernhill will always be far superior to anywhere we have been . The service and kindness the O Neil family and wedding team with particular mention to (Anne Cullinane) provide is second to none . Every member of staff do there job with such professionalism from the beginning to the end of the night/morning . We could not have asked for anymore . The food is superb , decor superb and any suppliers we spoke to were alway delighted to hear the wedding was in fernhill which is always a good sign . Don't hesitate to book fernhill for your special day you will not regret it .

Best venue in Ireland for everything.

Fernhill House offered everything we wanted for our wedding; a beautiful location, exceptional food, a country house vibe, and wonderful staff. Ann was a complete professional and a pleasure to work with in the lead up to the wedding! Every staff member went above and beyond! It was so clear to us that the staff are happy in their work and feel valued. Nothing was ever a problem and the lead up to the wedding was really seamless. The day itself was everything we could ever have dreamed of! Our guests are still raving about the food, the accomodation and the venue itself. If we were to do it all again in the morning, we would choose Fernhill every time!

Ann Cullinane and the O'Neill family run a very efficient venue that maintain a very high standard. Ann was very approachable with a queries and made the wedding planning very easy for us. Our day went better than we could of planned for. The location, Gardens, reception and food was brilliant.
Limited rooms is only drawback.

Fernhill is an outstanding venue, I would highly recommend to any couple. The service is 10/10, nothing was too much to ask for, Ann the wedding planner responds quickly to any query. The food is amazing, drinks were fab. Hotel itself is gorgeous. We had our ceremony on the grounds and it was beautiful. The venue work well with suppliers. Everything was on time and efficient. For anyone deciding on choosing Fernhill house to host their wedding , DO SO. Cannot speak highly enough of each and everyone one of the staff employed there. Our wedding day went fantastic and it is simply down to every person employed there . The organisers are phenomenal . The food is arguably the nicest and well presented food in the hole county of cork . The service and friendliness of the waiters / waitresses is just amazing . Highly recommend if considering Fernhill to trust and go with them ! Fantastic team , good & hotel & gardens .

I couldn't recommend Fernhill House Hotel enough as a wedding venue. From start to finish our whole day was amazing, the staff and management were all so helpful and accommodating.

We got married in the beautiful Fernhill House Hotel in May 2023. We cannot begin to thank Fernhill enough for everything they done to make our day so unique and special. From initial booking in 2021 to checkout we honestly could not find flaw in anything. Ann the wedding coordinator is exceptional! She is professional and approachable and puts passion into what she does. We never had to remind the hotel about anything. Whatever we asked or whatever special requests we had arranged were all taken care of perfectly.

On the day of the wedding we had our drinks reception in the garden marquee and the sun was glorious. This was a very unique setting and different to many other hotels we have went to weddings at. The gardens were perfect for our couple photos and also for family/friends photos. We didn't feel the need to add much of our own decor/touches as we knew they would do the job well. The function room was beautifully decorated with flower table centre pieces and Fernhill looked after printing all the table plans etc. The O?Neill family all work on the floor in the hotel and this could really be seen during the meal. The O?Neills, their managers, chefs and staff were all exceptional. The food was excellent and the service was incredible. At one point there was 8 bar staff in the function room alone. Something I have not seen at any other venue. The residents bar was also well staffed and they were not in the mood for going to sleep either as the barman Michael and also Michael O?Neill sung with us into the early hours.

On day 2, the breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious. We had a BBQ for about 100 guests at 3pm which was also very well executed and the food was very plentiful. We had arranged mini busses into Clonakilty for our night 2 celebrations and on return to Fernhill at 1:30am there was 2 bar staff waiting for our return and they also had put on finger food for everyone. It's the small touches like this that makes this such a unique venue.

We had our wedding and day 2 celebrations in Fernhill in April 2023. From the minute we booked it 2 years previous, everything was an absolute breeze. From food to accommodation to the staff, everything was just so easy and laid back and we had total trust that the day would be amazing and it was. Special thanks to Ann who does great work behind the scenes and all the staff at Fernhill and the O Neill family. It is so obvious why ye are winning awards left, right and centre. Alot of my guests have also been raving about the venue and food ever since. Thank you so much for such a great weekend!!!

Brilliant service

Ann and the team in Fernhill are top class; from the time we first viewed the hotel we knew it was the venue we wanted for our wedding. Ann was superb from the outset, no question was left unanswered no matter how trivial and she was always so quick to respond. No ask was too big or too small. She put us at ease from the beginning and we just knew the coordination of our wedding was in the safest and most expert of hands. She knew just when to advise us if we were unsure or undecided on anything and she definitely gave us great guidance when it came to menu selection, timings etc. Her wealth of wedding experience shone through and it was our experience with Ann at our first viewing that was a key factor in our decision to select Fernhill. We just knew we would be looked after.
The venue itself is amazing. We got married close to Christmas and the hotel was so tastefully decorated it really added to the atmosphere. The function room is beautifully decorated with the year round fairy lights adding a magical cosy feel to the dinner setting. The service that we received was excellent. Two weeks on from our wedding our guests are still telling us how brilliant the service was throughout the day , all asks were catered to and everyone is still talking about how good the food was. We knew Fernhill did excellent food from our own previous experience with the hotel but to have a large number of our wedding guests go out of their way to make sure they told us ?it was the best meal they had at a wedding in a long time? really reminded us just how good Fernhill are when it comes to food. The quality of their food is certainly not impacted by crowds as we had 200 sit down to our meal. Even beyond the food and service the whole setting is fantastic with many of our guests enjoying the wonderful gardens and grounds of the hotel the following morning. Having got married in Fernhill, our only additional ask would be to do it all again! We will be attending a wedding in Fernhill again next year and we already can't wait to visit again so we have a chance to have the guest experience that all of our guests all raved about.

I could not recommend this venue enough. The O'Neills and their staff are amazing. The surroundings are stunning and every need is catered for.
But, again, I will go back to the family and their staff. On a very nervous day, and for the day after...they put us so much at ease and not only that Mr O'Neil became part of what was the happiest day of our lives.

PS. The Elvis barman was exceptional.

My wife Katie and I originally booked our wedding in 2019 for 2021 and like many other couples we had to make the decision to reschedule it due to COVID so our day ended up happening in October 2022 instead.
At every stage of the process Fernhill provided a level of service that could only be described as superb. Ann was our wedding coordinator and absolutely no question or request was too big or too small. We didn't feel any stress whatsoever at any stage and we always felt that we were being well looked after.
Many many of our guests are still telling us weeks later that it was the best wedding weekend they have ever been to and a huge amount of the credit for that goes to the team at Fernhill particularly Ann, Laura and Neil.
The food was incredible and always readily available - nobody will ever go hungry at Fernhill!
Our guests were treated extremely well and everyone was very happy with their accommodation.
The weather turned nasty right as we arrived at the venue but the Fernhill team made absolutely sure that not a drop of rain was spilled on our guests or on ourselves.
We couldn't possibly recommend Fernhill any higher as a wedding venue - if anything we wish that we could do it all again!

Their professionalism, warmth and pride they take in weddings was very clear throughout our planning and on the day of the weddding. The food at Fernhill holds its own reputation. The hard work of each and every staff on the day of our wedding was very evident and all so welcoming. The hotel and grounds itself are always picturesque and always so clean. Both me and my husband had the day of your dreams thanks to them. From start to finish it was flawless and we didn't have to think of anything, they did it all!!
Ann is both outstanding at her job and an outstanding person. So warm and inviting yet so professional. Any detail we had a worry about was no hassle at all and anything we wanted done was done as if they already thought of it. I really believe if our wedding was anywhere else other then fernhill it wouldn't have been the same. If only we could do it all over again. Between the drinks reception in the stunning gardens to the 10/10 dinner in hands down the most stunning dining reception which looked like it was out of a movie.

We couldn't speak more highly of Fernhill as a venue and Ann as a Wedding co-ordinator. Living aboard we had concerns about planning a Wedding at home in Ireland. However, from the first video call with Ann at Fernhill, our concerns were eased and excitement started to grow. The team at Fernhill were so accommodating to every request we proposed which in turn gave us great comfort in the week leading up to the wedding knowing that Ann and her team had everything under control. If we were to do it all over again we wouldn't change a thing!

There are no words to describe how amazing Fernhill is at weddings. They are just the best in the business. We booked our day in July/August 2020 for July 10 2022 and all along they have been more than accommodating, responsive and overall great with any requests that we have had!

We looked at venues all over the country as we were living in Dublin, my husband is from Athlone and I'm from Cork. Hands down no where came close to level of professionalism and welcome given by Fernhill. It was clear they were just as passionate about us enjoying the day as we were. Nothing was ever an issue, every venue without question needs an Ann Cullinane for a coordinator. The others we met with did not have her warmth and enthusiasm, never were we made feel this was just another wedding. All our guests raved about the food and the O'Neil family give it that incomparable West Cork welcome. I would recommend Fernhill to anyone

Ann Cullinane, their wedding coordinator was so helpful when planning the wedding and on the day of the wedding. The staff at Fernhill were always professional, kind and caring. Service on the day of our wedding was incredible. Ferhill House Hotel has won many awards, and they are thoroughly deserved! They have beautiful gardens and we lovely the twinkly fairy lights in the ballroom. It was also great value for money for the high standards of food and service we received.
Fernhill House Hotel is also renowned for their high-quality food offerings. They use local products and seasonal produce as much as possible. From canapés, to dinners, to breakfast the next morning, we were served delicious food. We had a number of guests with special dietary requirements (coeliac and vegan, for example) and their food was expertly prepared and highly praised!

We had our wedding here last October& I have only good things to say about the venue, staff, food & over all experience. Ann the wedding coordinator was great to deal & took care of everything. Fernhill is definitely a great venue for a special occasion, there's something special about the place.

We were lucky enough to have our wedding in Fernhill in September 2021. After attending many weddings here before and having always been impressed we always knew this was where we wanted to get married. We didn't need to view anywhere else.
From the first moment we met the wedding Co ordinator Ann we felt so at ease, it was clear that she loved her job & was full of helpful information and advice . No ask was too big or small.
We knew that our wedding Co ordination was in the safest of hands.
Our first wedding date was unfortunately right in the middle of covid and things were very uncertain but Ann was always so reassuring and more than helpful and secured us a 2nd date in case it was needed.
Any time we sent an email no matter what time she was always quick to respond and took the stress away.
We had a humanist ceremony on site and Fernhill had so many different options for this. Luckily the sun came out for us later that morning and we were able to have our ceremony in the gorgeous garden.
Our guests still talk about the amazing venue. The food and service was A1 as per . The standard is always incredible be it 20 or 200 people. Fernhill is such a welcoming homely hotel.
We really can't even put into words how happy we were with everything.
We will be forever thankful to Ann, Neil and the O Neill family & team for everything they did to make our day so special.

Every member of staff were amazing, not only on the night but any time we called to the venue on the lead up. Ann the wedding coordinator couldn't do enough for us and guided us perfectly in the planning and always answered our questions promptly, no matter how small a question! The O?Neils were brilliant on the lead up and the day too from having different plans in place due to the weather to helping to sort out the technical side of the music to the little details Theresa puts into the venue. We got married in Fernhill in August 2021. It was a magical experience, both Neil and Anne make eventing so seamless we knew we could trust them and not worry about a single thing. All our guests are still to this day talking about the food and the wonderful atmosphere. From day one we knew this was the only venue for us and couldn't have asked for anything more.

Fernhill is the most amazing venue. Anne and all the staff were so lovely to deal with throughout the whole process, we had to reschedule our wedding 3 times due to covid and Anne was always at the end of the phone or email to help and reassure us. Our wedding day was perfect. The venue is stunning, food unbelievable and Anne and all the staff so lovely and accommodating. I would highly recommend them.

I could not recommend Fernhill enough to any couple getting married. Ann, the wedding coordinator went above and beyond to make sure our day ran smoothly, had seamless communication prior to the day and really made the whole process so simple. The marquee was amazing and was a lovely reception there. The food for our meal was absolutely amazing!! Our cake was beautifully placed on the cake table and all our decorations were placed perfectly along with our flowers. All of our guests were treated like royalty and still speak about how great their experience was there. We also got some spectacular photos in the gardens both in the day and night time.

We had our wedding at Fernhill House in December 2020 and we couldn't have been happier with our choice of venue. My husband and I got married here in January and we couldn't be happier with the service we received. From the very first time we set foot inside Fernhill we were treated amazingly and were always happy with the service. Ann, Michael and Neil were always professional, helpful and friendly. They always replied to our questions and gave us advice throughout our wedding planning experience. The day itself was perfect from start to finish. The set up, the food and just the general running of the day was exceptional and seamless. The food especially was to die for and our guests have been raving about it ever since. The hotel is so cosy and beautiful and having exclusivity made the day even more personal for us. They also have amazing gardens that set the scene for breathtaking photos that meant we didn't need to leave our location in the day.
We honestly couldn't be happier with our choice in wedding venue and will be recommending Fernhill for years to come.

Myself and my husband had our wedding in Fernhill on December 20th 2019 and had an amazing experience. A huge thanks to Ann, the wedding coordinator who is amazing in her role. Nothing was ever an issue and she was always on hand to offer advice. We had our wedding ceremony in the marquee on the grounds and it was so beautiful, it really is the perfect space for an intimate winter wedding ceremony and we are so glad we had it down there. All the hotel staff were absolutely fantastic from start to finish on the day. The food was incredible!! All of our guests complimented us on the reception and really really enjoyed their food!!! We would highly recommend Ann and Fernhill House for a wedding. It really is such a beautiful venue for a winter wedding!

Absolutely everything on our wedding day was amazing. Everything was in hand and taken care of, I wasn't sure what to expect on the day and so was worrying about timings etc but there was no need at all. The day was everything we could have wanted. The hotel is top class especially when it comes to weddings. The food was excellent and there was plenty available. The gardens are beautiful, we got beautiful photographs there and in the beautiful lounge area. We had a BBQ inside the next day and again there was plenty of food and it was amazing, our guests all commented on the food. As for the staff, everyone was lovely and so so helpful. I?d give a special shout out to Neil, who was so brilliant to deal with and to Ann for all her help on the day and ensuring everything ran smoothly. We look forward to coming back soon.

We had such a beautiful wedding at Fernhill. Neil and Anne were such an amazing support in the run up to the wedding. They were always so professional and at the other side of the phone when I needed help with suppliers...They really took the stress out of the occasion and organising.
The room was fabulously decorated and the food was unbelievable. We were so delighted to get lovely photos in the amazing gardens.

This was the best day of my life so far. :) And personnel of Fernhill made it happen. Fernhill is amazing location with beautiful garden, whuch is the base of successful wedding photos.Thanks to our coordinator Ann preparations for the day and the day itself went very smoothly. Professional from start to finish. We enjoyed every second of our day in the knowledge that everything would run smoothly in the hands of the staff at fernhill. Food was excellent, venue was beautiful and bridal suite is luxury. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Their wedding co-ordinator, Ann was fantastic and no request made was too big or too small.

We were recently married and had our wedding reception in Fernhill House Hotel. The service we received was absolutely outstanding. The O?Neill Family and all staff were very professional and fantastic to deal with from the moment we booked. Their attention to detail was second to none. We received fantastic advice and tips from Ann, the wedding co-ordinator, and all the O?Neills. On the day itself, the venue looked simply stunning, with no detail overlooked. The welcome we received in Fernhill on the day was so lovely. Our meal was simply sublime from start to finish. All our guests were talking about the quality of the food and the service they received. All dietary needs were catered for without any fuss or compromise in quality or choice. The management were present throughout our day to oversee proceeding and to step in to offer assistance at any moment. I couldn't recommend Fernhill any higher-once you select it as your wedding venue you won't have to worry about another detail!

I had my wedding here on the 1st December 2017. It was absolutely amazing - the food was delicious, the Christmas decorations were beautiful and the reception we received from the O'Neill family was second to none. The best decision I made for my wedding was to book this as my venue. Thanks again

Had our wedding reception here on the.21st October 2017. I can't fault one thing. From the moment we booked our wedding everything was so easy and nothing was too much trouble. Our wedding day still gives me goosebumps and we are so proud to have everyone compliment our day thanks to the level of professionalism from the hotel staff. The function room was breath taking. Bridal suite stunning. The food out of this world. I honestly can't find one negative thing to say. We also had our second day here. We had a BBQ in the marquee followed by band and dj. Again amazing! What I loved is that its a family run hotel and by the time you leave after your wedding you almost feel like you have known them years. Thank you so much fernhill for making our day one we will always remember and cherish.

When we walked into fernhill we were hit with a cosy fire and a very warm reception. We met with Neil who was so helpful nothing was to much trouble. We knew this was the spot for us..... all the planning was made so easy as fernhill recommended suppliers and they were just as pleasant to work with. The wedding fair is a must.The marque was incredible for the drinks reception,the spin down on the golf cart is a great hit.
All our guests were well looked after the food and sevice was fabulous on the day. We were treated like VIPS all day and it ran perfectly. Most perfect day of my life..I would happily do it all again ????

This hotel absolutely know how to put on a wedding! We got married the weekend of storm Ophelia so needless to say it was a washout! We had our ceremony in the marquee and had planned on utilising outside for our drinks reception but because of the weather we had to keep everyone indoors. The way the staff dealt with the situation was nothing short of amazing. They managed to transform the room from a ceremony set up to a drinks set up in a matter of minutes! Their friendliness and flexibility was the reason we chose this venue. Let's just say we had a couple of alternative ideas! But they were open to anything we suggested and the service, set up and easy manner made for such an incredible day regardless of the weather!! Would highly recommend the Fernhill

We had our wedding in Fernhill on 30th September. Fernhill is a shining example of West Cork hospitality. Caroline, Michael and Neil could not have done more for us. Everything was perfect from the moment our guests arrived right up until we left the following morning. The food, the surroundings, the set up...honestly we could be here forever listing the virtues of Fernhill. We couldn't recommend them highly enough.

This hotel is absolutely outstanding nothing is too much for them. Thankfully not a thing went wrong the day of our wedding. Everything was spot on down to the smallest detail.

Fernhill house hotel is a fantastic hotel for your wedding. The staff are so friendly and helpful and nothing was a problem for caroline, Neil and Michael. The food was amazing on the day and the service was perfect. The gardens are an added bonus to this hotel. Perfect for photos and drinks reception in the markee. We cannot recommend this hotel enough. Wish we could do it all over again as the day goes too fast.

From the moment we viewed Fernhill as a potential wedding venue right up until our big day the staff of Fernhill and the wedding coordinator were so professional, helpful and friendly. They couldn't do enough for us, allowing us to have the perfect day. The meal, reception food, service, marquee and beautiful gardens were things guests complimented us on. The party went on until all hours and the owners even dropped some of the guests back to their B&B, so kind of them. The hotel presented my husband and I with surprise engraved bride and groom crystal glasses which we were a lovely keepsake.

the o neill family cound not do enough to acccomidate us for our big day what a wonderfull place but the one thing its got that not many venues have is you are not stuck in the same hall all day the marquee is so beautifull and the taxi ride down to it by mick senior is unique could not ask for a better wedding venue lisa and stephan

Fernhill were absolutely amazing during the whole process from start to finish when we were planning our wedding. Caroline was so flexible and accommodated all of our requests. We also planned our wedding from Australia and she was very flexible with times for us to skype to discuss the wedding etc. On the day we didn't have to lift a finger, they were so organised and we had discussed the set up of the whole venue prior. We had our ceremony in the gardens and it was absolutely stunning and picturesque. We had drinks reception in the marquee which was stunning and they accommodated us having our speeches down there too. The reception was held in their function hall and was set up to perfection. The food was absolutely amazing, we decided to pay extra to have the steak option and we were not disappointed, everyone was commenting on how amazing the food was. Their service was fantastic and unfaultable. We were treated as though we were the only ones in the world getting married (and not that they do this every weekend). I could not rate Fernhill high enough, they are amazing!

From our first visit to Fernhill we knew that we could be confident in our decision to book this as our wedding venue. The venue itself is beautiful with plenty of comfort and photo opportunities. The management and staff were always focused on either planning or hosting our day - nothing was a problem.

We were offered a planning questionnaire so that no details were overlooked (which was valuable). We had plenty of opportunity for planning meetings and we had a taster meal.

On the day itself we were looked after without fault. Everything we had planned just unfolded seamlessly before us as we went from drinks reception to dinner, to speeches, to dancing, to resident's bar. People say getting married is stressful, but thankfully we can say that we had no stress on the day. We just handed it all over to the Fernhill and enjoyed it. So many of our guests have spoken about how they enjoyed the day, and everybody was raving about the quality of the food and the first class service.

We would have no problem recommending the Fernhill House Hotel as a premium wedding venue, where people can be confident about their special day.

Caroline and the O'Neill family, particularly Michael and Neill were superb to deal with right from our very first meeting with them. Meetings and discussions for organising the room set up were very well organised and would put you at ease knowing the level of detail they go into. The room decor exceeded our expectations. Complimentry Moposa access was very helpful for table plan.The food and service were top clas and all dietary requirements were pro-actively and tastefully catered for. The gardens and marquee were fantastic, they were a great addition to the day. The whole day and night went brilliantly, there isn't anything we would change. Thanks to Michael Snr for joining our sing song later in the night also!

Had a very special day at Fernhill for our wedding. Great experience and found the team there very friendly and helpful. Everything was taken care of on the day which left us worry free, lovely set up and the food is amazing. Owners greeted us and were very hands on over the evening making sure everything was in order. We had our reception in beautiful Fernhill House Hotel on 28th April 2017. Caroline our wedding coordinator was more then helpful in the run up to the big day & as for the O'Neill family, they treated us like royalty from start to finish.
We chose this venue because of its beautiful, unique setting, warm & welcoming atmosphere, beautiful menu options & the fact that it's family owned and it shows.

The food was second to none & we had such an amazing choice it was hard to finally settle on our menu as all dishes were exquisite.
We can't recommend Fernhill highly enough & we just wish we could have our day all over again.

Ruth Anna is a fantastic bridal makeup artist. Her artist flare and beautiful personality are well merged to create a wonderful experience for your big day. Having Ruth Anna there the morning off gave an air of positivity and calm. Her presence alone lights up a room.

Every member of my bridal party were thrilled with their makeup. She captured their natural beauty's with gorgeous neutral tones. I loved my makeup and how it looked in the photographs.

Hotel,gardens and food were amazing. Quality of service we found to be lacking however,as communication levels between staff members and between staff and us were low and crucially,they did not follow through on certain things we were promised and offered no apologies for not doing so. Such a shame as it would have been the perfect 5star wedding had they kept their promises. :-(

Very many of our guests said that it was the Best hotel wedding they had ever experienced in all the weddings they had attended. Right through from the drinks reception in the fabulous marquee to the exquisite meal and the unique supper food the quality was outstanding. My husband and I got married at Fernhill on the 15-07-16, we cannot speak highly enough of this wonderful venue. Caroline the wedding co-ordinator is extremely helpful and very friendly and approachable. I had massive insane ideas for decor and I could of went a little ott but seeing the set up fernhill provide for your special day brought me back down to earth. The staff and owners couldn't be nicer. The food and atmosphere is superb and because you have the venue booked for you and your guests the day is all your own and you forget completely that you are in cork, let alone Ireland! It's like a mini holiday.
We had a humanist ceremony and everything was very personal and the room was decorated beautifully.
I highly recommend fernhill house.

Fernhill was a fantastic venue. I am the fourth girl in my family to have chosen it for our wedding reception. The staff are so accommodating and helpful and caroline (the wedding coordinator) is a dream. A number of our guests commented that the meal was the best meal they have ever eaten at a wedding. The gardens are just beautiful for photographs, day or night. Even though it was raining on the day of our wedding, we were still able to take photos in the gardens and neil and Mike very helpfully drove us down in the golf buggy. The bridal suite is also stunning. The service is really second to none. We honestly couldn't recommend Fernhill as a venue highly enough. You don't have to worry about anything if you are going there!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Caroline and the O?Neill family for an absolutely amazing wedding day.After a long search for the perfect venue we stumbled across the Fernhill house hotel while living abroad in New Zealand. We requested a brochure online, not really expecting a response being so far away, however within a week we received one in the post with all the information we needed. We knew straight away that this was where we wanted to have our reception. From the beautiful gardens with the marquee to the fabulously renovated hotel it had everything we wished for.
Shortly after arriving home we went to visit the hotel for Sunday lunch. The food was so amazing and the staff were so friendly there really was no doubt for us that this was the perfect hotel. We booked our date as soon as we could. In the run up to the big day Caroline and Theresa were so helpful and really made us feel at ease with all the preparations. From ideas on decorations to the menu nothing was too much trouble.
On the day itself we had such an amazing time, the whole day ran so smoothly, we didn't need to worry about anything. Caroline, Theresa, Michael, Michael jnr and Neill and all the staff looked after us so well you would think we were the only wedding they were hosting all year.We really cannot thank everyone at the Fernhill enough for making our special day so amazing. Everyone keeps talking about the food complementing it and also the service, every table was given such attention and well looked after by all the staff.Having the use of the marquee and gardens for the reception drinks really breaks up the day for the guests and there are plenty of places to go if you want to get away from the reception room while still not being far from all the action. It really is the perfect wedding venue and we only hope that someday we can return for someone else's wedding to enjoy the whole experience again.We really cannot recommend this hotel enough, it is a three star hotel with five star service, food and accommodation. On behalf of ourselves and our guests, we'd like to extend our sincere thanks to the O'Neill family and Caroline as well as all the staff of Fernhill for making our special day so enjoyable and memorable. The marquee turned out to a wonderful location for guests to 'mix and mingle' and to admire the beautiful gardens. The food was delicious and bountiful. All of the tables were served simultaneously in an efficent and curteous manner by the team. The quality of the meal and service is something we are still hearing about from guests. The fish and chips went down a treat as well with both night guests and those who had previously felt full but are used to visiting a chipper after a long day's drinking. Everyone's needs (including those found wandering the corridors at 7am) were well looked after. It was a pleasure too to relax and ruminate over it all the following morning in the comfortable surrounds of the lounge. If we were to do it all over again we wouldn't even bother to check out another hotel.So thanks again and we hope to be the recipients of invites to many weddings in Fernhill in the future.
