We had the perfect wedding day at Lough Eske Castle. Every one of our guests commented on the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff, they couldn’t have been any better. The venue was the perfect place to hold a wedding, our day was more than we’d imagined.

We had a fantastic day at Lough Eske and would thoroughly recommend it as a wedding venue. We had both the ceremony and reception there. Simon and Niall were great from the initial planning and guidance through to the on the day support itself ensuring the day ran faultlessly. They have expert knowledge on how to approach the day and are full of tips and ideas and really flexible and helpful. The grounds and venue are beautiful and great for pictures. The drinks reception was great and food was really tasty and for what you get it is really good value. The wider team of staff were great, we had a great day and all our guests commented on how much they enjoyed it. Thanks again to Simon and Niall for such a great day!

We got married in June 2024 & had our reception at Lough Eske Castle. The staff were incredibly helpful from our first visit. Several months before the wedding we had a meeting with Simon, our wedding coordinator and we discussed all of our preferences for the wedding day which meant we were not stressing about any of those things closer to the day itself. The wedding day was perfect. The staff could not have made us feel more special. The grounds of the castle provided spectacular photos. The day ran exactly to the timeline we had requested without ever feeling rushed. The food & drink was delicious & complimented by almost all of our guests. Our suite for the weekend was magnificent. We wanted something relaxed & casual for the following day & this was also facilitated, with great food & music in the Father Browne Bar. We could not recommend Lough Eske Castle more highly.

We recently had our wedding at Lough Eske Castle and it was an absolutely unforgettable experience. Simon, our wedding coordinator from start to finish was brilliant. His expertise and dedication ensured that everything ran smoothly and without a hitch. He was incredibly accommodating, attending to every detail and making sure our special day was exactly as we had envisioned. The hotel was beautiful and food was amazing. We did majority of the day outside, I would 100% recommend (however, we took a massive chance on the weather).

In all honesty, we wouldn't change a thing about our wedding day. The combination of a beautiful venue, exceptional food, and the impeccable coordination by Simon made it truly perfect.

We couldn't have been happier with Lough Eske (and Simon) while planning our wedding and on the day itself. From day one Alex had everything covered, the lead up to the wedding was all sorted by Alex, no question was to small and believe me I had lots. Absolutely beautiful venue, both Simon and Alexandra were brilliant so attentive both on the lead up and during the wedding day. They made everything so easy. As for the rest of the staff also everyone was so welcoming and polite. Excellent food, excellent service. I honestly couldn't recommend the place more.

We wanted to thank Simon and the wedding team for the work that they did for our wedding on 22nd December last year. Everything went exactly as planned and it was a great occasion that will be remembered by all who attended.

On the day, guests were commenting at how amazing the hotel was, from the hotel setting, Christmas decorations, rooms and all the staff who were very professional and polite. They were also blown away at the standard of food served at the wedding itself.

The overall customer service was second to none for all of the time we were there, from Shea, Dylan and the other concierge team who greeted us, they were amazing assistance and great for a chat over the few days, as were Geraldine and the team at the front desk. The overall experience made the few days around the wedding day extra memorable.

Simon made our experience very enjoyable. Helpful and accommodating throughout. The staff were so pleasant on the day. We loved every second.

Overall we could not fault Lough Eske at all. Everything was perfect and all staff, from the men at the entrance to the bar staff were what made our stay and wedding so special. Everyone was so friendly and accomodating. Compared to other venues there was no restrictions, completely flexible on anything we asked. The wedding package was also good value and included everything you need.

Everyone of the castle's staff helped anyone at any time, from arrival straight through, all our guests loved it. We got married at Lough Eske 1 year ago on 27/08/21 and returned to celebrate our anniversary. I am so pleased to say that nothing has changed in the last year and we were treated to the same welcome and warmth as we did arriving as an excited bride and groom, and we were made feel just as special one year on. We were delighted to catch up with Simon again who is unfailingly exceptional at his job, and to see Johnny was still there to greet us in the restaurant. Any couple thinking of exploring Lough Eske Castle as a venue, you will not be disappointed. All staff exceed expectations and are passionate about making every visitors experience special, right down to the sweet treats that were sent to our door as a gift to mark our anniversary. Cannot recommend highly enough.

We finally got married in Lough Eske Castle in August 2021 and we had the most amazing day. Simon and the team couldn't have been more professional, accomodating or helpful. This was our third wedding date and Simon was so helpful and understanding with all the changes. The venue itself is beautiful, 5 star service without leaving anyone feeling uncomfortable. We loved being there the day before the wedding and the day after and it has become a very special place for us. Neither of us are from Donegal and so we mainly communicated with Simon via email and he was always very responsive. Everything was perfect ????

From the beginning Simon and the Lough Eske team were fantastic. They personalised and tailored our wedding to make it unique to us. When the pandemic hit and lockdowns were enforced we had to change the dates like many couples. Lough eske accommodated our new dates and on the big day itself all the staff were amazing we couldn't have asked for a better day, everything run like clock work and went perfectly even though there were Covid restrictions in place. All of our guests commented on the 5 star food quality and service. We've already booked our anniversary and we've had family and friends looking into going back for a few nights. If you're looking for a wedding venue or just a weekend break we cannot recommend Lough Eske enough, you will not find a better setting or service

We really couldn't recommend Lough Eske enough, from our first enquiry until we left the venue as Mr & Mrs, the service was nothing short of exceptional. The room set-up was stunning, food arrived in good time and was delicious, and the staff really went out of their way, providing a slick and co-ordinated service. Our guests had a fabulous time and were talking about it for weeks after!

The professionalism and flexibility were much appreciated, especially under the current circumstances with lockdowns and restrictions. Simon reassured us at every step of the way and even helped facilitate a last-minute date change. Lough Eske did a great job of keeping us informed with the guidance and helped explore our options.

What makes Lough Eske such an incredible place is how personal everything is. From the moment we first made contact with Simon, through to leaving several days after our wedding (we even extended our stay!) was a joy. The venue is stunning and so incredibly peaceful, we didn't want to leave! We can't wait to visit again when you re-open!

We had a beautiful winter wedding day in December in Lough Eske Castle. The staff at Lough Eske made us and our families feel so well looked after on our wedding day and during the days after. We really appreciated the excellent service from wait staff during the wedding and at breakfast. The food was unbelievable and all our guests raved about this. Simon was responsive to our questions in the lead up to the wedding and reassured us that we would still be able to go ahead with a small wedding within the restrictions even though our original numbers were much larger. The hotel were very accommodating when we were let down by another supplier last minute and we needed to arrange some canapés for our drinks reception.

What a day we had at the amazing Lough Eske Castle. On Monday 30th December 2019 we had the reception of our wedding here and I can honestly say that from start to finish everything was covered. This was a day that we will remember and one that Simon and his team helped to make even more special and enjoyable. The venue itself is spectacular so you get that WOW factor straight away ? a castle in one of Irelands most stunning County's, Donegal ? a gem on the Wild Atlantic Way. The lead up to the day and the organisation was pain free as Simon attended to every need we had. He met us when we wanted to talk face to face and picked up the phone when we had any questions. He got to know us personally and we felt very calm in his presence. There was never a moment I thought we have made a wrong decision here as all the way through Simon and the extended team were attentive, involved, contactable and a calm, whilst adding some humour into the mix also. From the moment we arrived before the big day along with our guests - the check-in was smooth, the service was first class, the rooms were stunning and the night before the wedding was so much fun with everyone being downstairs in the bar. Then there was the day, where the staff were on point, everything went to plan allowing my husband and I and our families and friends to have an unforgettable day. One small thing that made a massive impact was the way the staff served the dinner on the day - they did this this special little display to the top table where the team stood around and then there was this collective lifting of the cloche to reveal the dish - it has been mentioned by so many of our guests since. It was a nice little touch. So, with all this in mind, I would say if you are looking at this venue as a possibility, seriously consider choosing it. I loved every moment.

Simon is amazing. Brendan and I planned everything from different countries. Everything was perfect. It could not have been any better!

Besides the beautiful grounds and venue we found Lough Eske amazing to deal with and they made our wedding weekend all the more special. Simon was our wedding coordinator and he was excellent from start to finish, nothing was ever a problem and he helped us throughout all the planning. He put us at ease and is a real asset to the venue. The staff were all so warm and welcoming to all of our guests. We couldn't have been happier with the food on the day of the wedding too. It's actually hard to find the right words to express how incredible the team at Lough Eske are, Simnon, Maureen and everyone else. Literally every single staff member!

From the very first day we visited we knew this was the place for us. Obviously the castle itself is incredible, but the team at Lough Eske are like no other!
Every time we visited we were greeted with a smile and an extremely warm welcome. Nothing was a problem at all.
I know from friends experiences that this is not always the case with wedding venues.
Michael and I could not recommend Lough Eske any more if we wanted to! You will not be disappointed... you will have the best day of your life if you chose Lough Eske Castle.

My husband and i live in Australia and found Lough Eske on a Google search for Castle's, we set a radius of 1 hour max for our guests to travel if need be. Lough Eske popped up and we fell in love with it immediately. It has history as well as plenty of accomodation for our guests. Simon, the wedding co-ordinator for Lough Eske was exceptional to say the least! He had answers for everything and understood our vision right from the beginning, he is a true asset to the team at Lough Eske. All of the staff were so accommodating and helpful and we had such a fantastic group or bar staff and wait staff working our wedding. We will be back on our 1 year anniversary to have a child free weekend escape.

Wonderful experience. We had to plan our wedding from a distance, and both Maureen and Simon (the wedding planners) were super flexible and helpful. Maureen was also present during the wedding day itself, and she was so supportive. She made me feel so at ease with everything, I could not have asked for more. The hotel itself and the grounds are magical, as it's all so beautiful! And the food and overall service was amazing. The place and the people really made a difference in a day that can be quite stressful. I would definitely recommend this venue to anyone planning a wedding.

Where do I start....well I think the word Perfection might begin to sum it up! From beginning to end...Lough Eske, the staff and Simon couldn't have done any more for our wedding to be perfect. The guests all commented on the food, the service, the location...they were blown away by everything.

I can not recommend Lough Eske enough for your wedding. The castle itself is beautiful and exclusive, the grounds are perfect for pictures with the lake at the entrance also. We had our ceremony outside which was beautiful. Simon, the wedding Coordinator could not do enough for us (I had lots of requests). The staff were so accommodating and professional and they made the day perfect from the start until the early hours of the night. The guests at the wedding were so impressed and everyone loved the rooms- big, spacious and beautifully decorated.
Again, I highly, highly recommend that all couples should consider this castle for their big day.

For a destination wedding, Simon and the team could not have made it any more stress and hassle free. Where do we begin? We just had the most fantastic, wonderful and special wedding at Lough Eske , it was everything we could have wished for - and more - we are still talking about it and reliving it and we will for years to come. The Attention Simon and Maureen gave us from the very start of our preparations was brilliant and second to none, ye made everything we wanted happen, the staff are just fantastic nothing was too much trouble we were looked after so well from the time we arrived on Wednesday till we left on the Friday, they attended to our ever whim, you have a very impressive, warm, welcoming and competent team at Lough Eske. You are in a different league entirely. The food was fantastic, the night before and the day of the wedding the meal was delicious.The 23rd of May is a date that will always be in our memory not just because of the wedding but the entire experience at Lough Eske thanks a million Guys ye are the best !!! We had our wedding reception in Lough Eske Castle on the 10th May 2019. The castle itself was exactly what we were looking for in terms of food, atmosphere, scenery and overall experience.
As a family, we were shown sensitivity and care throughout the preparations, with nothing being too much trouble.
The day was an absolute delight, all due to the hard work and precise organisation by Simon and his team.
So many people commented how wonderful the venue was.
We will always remember the day with great fondness and most definitely recommend Lough Eske Castle as a perfect castle wedding venue!

I really can't rate Lough Eske highly enough! We booked it for our wedding without ever having been there - we were organising our wedding from abroad and in a fairly tight timeframe (7 months) - but the feedback from my parents on the walkaround that Simon arranged was so good that we went ahead and booked it! After that we dealt with Maureen over email and phone - she was an absolute pleasure to deal with and she couldn't have been any more helpful. We visited the venue 3 months before the wedding and from the minute we came up the driveway we knew we had made the right decision. Maureen met us there and walked us through the venue, the rooms, and arranged our menu tasting.
The wedding day itself was perfect! Everything from the drinks reception, to dinner, to dancing was better than we had imagined.
In summary - Don't hesitate in booking Lough Eske - the venue is really beautiful, the food is top class, and the staff are second to none. We will definitely be back to stay there.

This is a fabulous hotel for your wedding, stunning castle and grounds but the staff make all the difference. Really lovely relaxed atmosphere in a five star setting. We had a December wedding and the decor and confort of the hotel made it feel very special. Highly recommended.

We just wanted to pass on our sheer delight at how well our big day went, all thanks to you and your amazing team. From the initial booking, to the planning stages, to the day itself, everything went smoothly. On our wedding day we were made feel special, we were really happy with how everything was organised and how you and your team managed to understand the ideas in my head and helped make them come to life. We had the pleasure of having our wedding in Solis Lough Eske Castle recently, to say we were blown away is an understatement. From day one, on meeting Stephen and his team we knew we were in safe hands. Nothing was ever a problem and the response was always prompt. We organised our wedding in a 14 month span and visited the castle regularly, every time we were greeted with a smile and the utmost service. On our wedding weekend we felt attended to every moment for the three days we spent there. Everything ran smoothly and the food and service was second to none. We are delighted we chose Solis Lough Eske and the venue for our special day.

Stephen Bell is a gem! He is the best coordinator. Everyone talked about how everything went so smoothly and no one seemed to be aware of any issues. He made sure the entire thing was perfect. It was planned and timed perfectly. Every guest was entertained and happy. The venue was beautiful. The staff lovely. The food delicious. And, it maintained a private feel, as it was not over run with individuals not associated with the wedding.

Honestly, it was a dream wedding- beautiful castle by a lake with the kindest people and most welcoming staff. Highly recommend.

Me and conor were married at Lough eske on sat 16th Sept 2017, i have to say we were blown away with how amazing everything was, we took a gamble on it as we came from australia to get married there as we never saw the castle before, but oh my god we just loved everything about it. Our guests raved about the food and service amd the rooms, they told us it was the most extravagant wedding they have ever been to, which made us even more delighted.
Stephen bell and his team are the most professional we have ever seen, he got in contact instantly when we had a question and beared in mind the time difference in Australia.

We are so very grateful for a wonderful wedding reception at Lough Eske on the 25th August 2017 and I cannot recommend this venue and the staff highly enough. We attended a wedding open day at Lough Eske and from the first moment we stepped foot on the grounds of Lough Eske we knew we wanted to get married there. The Castle, lake and grounds are breathtaking. It is a truly special venue. When we discovered there was a bank holiday date available 5 months later we booked the date. On our first meeting we met Stephen who was honest, friendly, warm, very professional and organised. Stephen gave us great advice and was such a great help in the organisation of our big day. We also worked closely with Caoibhe who was fantastic. Given we were organising our wedding in such a short amount of time there was a lot to do in a small amount of time. Stephen was always on the other end of the phone or email to assist us in whatever it was! With over ten years experience with the organisation of weddings he was such a great help. Our venue was never a worry for us. We thoroughly enjoyed our pre-wedding visits and tasting menus at Lough Eske. The rooms are beautiful and luxurious. Lough Eske is a five star venue with impeccable standards but with a friendliness and warmness I have never encountered elsewhere.

On the day itself we were overjoyed with the venue, food and staff. The bridal suite was AMAZING and accommodated a room full of family, friends and stylists on the morning of the wedding. The staff in particular were superb and our guests raved about the five star service. Everyone commented on the service they received, how personal it was & how they wanted for nothing. The food was out of this world - we had big numbers but every single meal was served to the same high standard.The day was professionally organised and the day flowed perfectly. We cannot recommend Lough Eske Castle highly enough. It was our first choice of venue for our fairy-tale wedding on the 22nd of July 2017. From start to finish the food, the accommodation the overall experience was wonderful and truly 5*. We only booked 4 months in advance and everything appeared to be and was possible. Stephen made the planning a breeze and even facilitated some last minute requests (Caipirinhas:)/table arrangements/....), and fully appreciated the stress we may have been, and were, going through. Our sincere thanks to Stephen, the reservation staff, the restaurant and in fact everybody we came in contact with, who helped make this a magical and memorable day. Go for it - you wont regret it!

We booked the wedding with Stephen Bell (wedding coordinator) in March 2015, and from the moment we met Stephen we knew that he would make our day absolutely perfect. To say that Stephen, and all the staff in the castle went beyond the call of duty, is an understatement. Stephen was a massive help when we needed guidance, and on the day of the wedding he was there making sure that it was perfect for us. There wasn't a single thing that we could fault during our celebrations. The food and service were outstanding, and of course the hotel (including the ballroom and bedrooms) and location are absolutely stunning. Guests and bridal party alike were treated like royalty. We had the most fantastic experience when holding our wedding at Lough Eske. We got married and had our wedding at Solis Lough Eske Hotel on Sunday 9th April 2017. From the initial meeting with Stephen Bell, i knew we had made the right decision.

We actually made our wedding a weekend event at the hotel. Family meal on the Friday, Saturday reserved private bar with food and band for our guests and then on the Sunday our wedding. Not once could we fault any element of service from the team in all divisions of the hotel. In fact everyone was professional and genuinely friendly, we were on first name terms with a lot of the team at the hotel.

On our wedding day Stephen and Caoibhe personally looked after us, they were amazing, so helpful throughout the process and nothing was a problem. Its the small touches they do, going that extra mile..... We got married outside and at the end of our wedding service it started to drizzle, in a second all of our guests were provided with umbrella!!!!

The professional service from the hospitality team and the quality standard of the meal and buffet were exceptional.

The venue is just beautiful, just perfect for any style of photography. The backdrop of the Castle to the views of the stunning lough are just perfect.

The service, professionalism and diligence that we experienced in Lough Eske Castle was second to none. Every interaction with Stephen, Caoibhe and the rest of the team was positive and we and our guests were made to feel incredibly welcome. No request was to difficult to accommodate; and in particular, very kind attention was paid to one of our guests who had some special requirements. We looked at other venues but found Lough Eske to be in a different league and offering a different product to what was available elsewhere. We could not recommend it highly enough!

We had our wedding reception in Solis Lough Eske on Saturday the 10th December 2016. I am sorry that it has taken me nearly 3 months to put words to paper and post this review. My tardiness should not reflect the experience that we had ;)

The wedding weekend and the day itself went like a dream. As two ex hotel managers I am sure that we were not the easiest to work with but at all times in the lead up to and including the day Stephen and the staff at Lough Eske could not be more professional and attentive with every detail that we had requested and more covered with the upmost of care.

The majority of our 180 guests decided to make a weekend of the wedding with upwards of 50 rooms staying in the hotel for the Friday and Saturday nights and all commented on the
- friendliness of the staff (which was the main USP that made us book the hotel for our wedding)
- the quality and luxury of the bedrooms and
- that no task or request was too big for any member of staff be this from the hall porters, receptionists, housekeepers, restaurant, bar and banqueting staff.

The buffet food and in particular the beef bourguignon and service on the Friday night was excellent and a great way for everyone to meet and mingle the night before

Breakfast on both the Saturday and Sunday mornings was fresh, well presented and always served with a smile

On the day of the wedding all we can say is that we were blown away by the professionalism and attention to detail provided by Stephen and Caoibhe and of course Donal who took the operations of the function in his stride. The hotel and function room looked magical for the humanist ceremony with the tasteful Christmas decorations and the transformation of the room for the meal was second to none. We were delighted that we opted for the draping of the room and also the LED dance floor with Simply Divine Weddings which made for a great night.

The food quality for the meal and evening buffet and the service was excellent and could not be faulted.

All in all the day and weekend was flawless and we could not recommend the hotel highly enough for any potential couple that are looking to book their special day at Solis Lough Eske Castle.

We hope to return to Lough Eske for a night in the coming months to reminisce on the magical experience that we had in December.

Well where to start! From our first meeting with Stephen regarding our wedding no request was too big and everyone was so helpful. The big day itself was exceptional from the welcome each and every one of our guests received to the excellent food. The service was first class from start to finish. All of our guests were blown away by how well they were looked after by all staff. On the day Caoibhe was so attentive really looking after us. Although we live in Canada, we decided to have our wedding in Ireland because of our Irish heritage. We chose Solis Lough Eske Castle as we wanted a beautiful and unique setting for our special day. Its location near Donegal Town is within 4 hours of Dublin making it easily accessible for both our Irish guests and those travelling from overseas.

On the day, everything went perfectly. From set-up for the wedding ceremony to the reception, delicious dinner and fun-filled dance later that evening, the service we received from the Solis staff was impeccable. We, and our guests, were impressed by the overall ambience of the castle and the standard of accommodations and amenities ? it is indeed 5 star.

From our first contact with Stephen Bell, the castle's wedding planner, over a year ago through the many other contacts and conversations we had with him and others, everyone was so friendly, helpful and efficient in the planning of our wedding. Getting married in another country has many potential obstacles but the cooperative and professional approach all the Solis staff demonstrated made what could have been a very stressful undertaking go smoothly and without incident. Stephen and the rest of the staff were wonderful and even willing to try out an idea for the ceremony location that had not been used before. We are from the United States and had a perfect small wedding and it couldn't have been better. They have a great set up for much larger weddings but it was great for our size gathering as well. We felt like royalty the whole time we were there, I can't wait to go back for one of our anniversaries.

From the very outset the staff at Lough Eske could not have been more helpful with instant assistance, planning, supplier suggestions and accommodating our requests (right up to the last minute). This was especially appreciated by us as we were planning the wedding from afar in a relatively short period of time.
The venue and grounds are simply magical and every single member of staff from the wedding planning team, to reservations, to the concierge staff, to the staff serving and the master of cermonies orchestrating the party on the day did everything possible to continue that magical yet professional experience.

The food was superb and served in such a simultaneous manner that every guest was eating at exactly the same time (we're still not sure how they managed to get that many steaks cooked so well and out the door at the same time!)

The whole experience from start to finish could not have been any more simple and positive which is essential when planning such an important day. The wedding planning team were quick to respond to any request and true to their word with any on the fly agreements we made.

Truly, we cannot thank everyone involved enough for helping to make the most wonderful day of our lives such a magical and stress free experience and will happy recommend them to anyone who may be considering this location.

We couldn't have asked for better service and advice. Stephen was very accommodating in assuring us both that our day would run smoothly. Stephen is amazing. He really knows his business and helps advise on all aspects of the wedding not just relevant to the venue. Like all the staff there he is extremely accommodating.
The Staff are simply the best staff out of any hotel and the main reason we chose this venue. We have stayed there regularly enough over the years and is our favourite hotel in the world. There was nowhere else to get married in our mind. The hotel was so accommodating and tailored everything to our needs. They all really ensured that we and our guests were the most important people in the hotel (even though they make everyone feel like that).
All of our guests have wanted to and will again stay in this magical place. Along with ourselves they said it feels like a home away from home and not a hotel. Well if your home was a castle.. =0)
It might be a bit more expensive that other venues but you get what you pay for, and more. Value for money; there is no better in my opinion.
Do yourself a favour and stay there for one night and then make up your mind, I guarantee you will pick this place.

We had the most amazing wedding day we could have asked for at Lough Eske Castle. The experience was magical from the minute we arrived until we left as a married couple the next day.... We got married on July 25, 2015 at Lough Eske Castle. I am from California and Kieran is from Omagh, but we met and live in London. We wanted to get married in Ireland and googled several places! After speaking with Stephen over the phone for a few minutes in December we knew we had found the perfect place and a super wedding coordinator!! He helped my mother, who lives in San Francisco, plan the whole wedding! His attitude of " anything you want" and " leave that to me" was so refreshing and he really made everything we wanted, happen! My mother and I visited Lough Eske Castle in March and when we met Stephen we knew we had made the right choice!! The only time Kieran and I could come to the tasting was during Easter weekend and Stephen made that happen!! He was constantly in touch and took care of every detail. We had several items shipped to Lough Eske and Stephen had it stored for us. He arranged with the chef to have special treats delivered to our guests on arrival. He also took care of arrangements with the spa and a fishing trip for Kieran and his groomsmen. When we arrived at Lough Eske a couple of days before the wedding, Stephen was there to greet us even though it was the last day of his vacation! He made sure we were all checked in and had everything we needed. Our guests were mostly from the US and UK and loved Lough Eske Castle. The rooms are large and beautiful and the service is fantastic! The bridal suite was fabulous and we were able to entertain our whole bridal party there! From the rooms we stayed in to the welcome buffet dinner, to the wedding ceremony and ballroom dinner, the weekend was perfect! The ceremony in the Rockery was magical and Stephen and his team produced a great setting both outdoors and indoors. Lough Eske Castle was a fairy tale weekend for us and we would love to do it all over again!! Thank you Stephen and the superb staff at Lough Eske Castle for a truly memorable wedding weekend!!!

We planned our big day from abroad but the whole process could not have gone any smoother. Mark and his team were always available and could not have made the day and more special for us and our family and friends.

From the very initial email to enquire more information we had first class responses inviting us to come and look around the castle. Stephen and Donal were exceptional; they were so welcoming and friendly and gave us all the information that we were looking for to see if our dream wedding could come to life in this amazing castle. They were always quick to respond to emails and phone calls answering our questions and even going out of their way to fulfill special requests. We were then invited to our menu tasting which was another first class experience. All the staff are so welcoming and friendly and it was as if we had knew them forever. Stephen had also gave us information on recommended companies for dressing the ball room, music and even an ice cream kart.

As a creative person I wanted to design and create our own special theme and this was greatly welcomed without any restrictions. The day before the wedding we had loads of jeeps and vans bring all the trees, tree trunk slabs, lanterns etc and Anthony was straight out with the staff helping to carry everything in to a room that they had provided us for storage. We also had the space to dress the tables the night before and make the bouquets, along with extra help from the staff especially Alison.

It rained all night and the morning of the wedding and it was our dream to have our ceremony outside in the rockery; Stephen let us make the decision just an hour before the ceremony and thankfully the rain had cleared up and all staff were at hand with umbrellas just encase. They also had the ballroom prepared for plan B.

Every part of our wedding was delightful and made special by the staff and the amazing castle, we cannot thank them enough. Our guests were blown away with the kindness of staff, the exceptional food, the surroundings and they all commented how it was the best wedding they had even been to.

The staff all went out of their way to help us and made us fell like a prince and princess.

We had a June Wedding that was absolutely magical at Lough Eske Castle. My husband and I are both from the US and planned the entire wedding from home abroad. Steven and his team (we love Nigel!) were so amazing at handling my questions from the first inquiry to the months and days leading up to the wedding. They set an easy timeline together to keep us on track and not overwhelmed. They took amazing care of my guests and the wedding was absolutely perfect! We were able to hold the ceremony outside in the rockery and it was beautiful! I would recommend this location and team to any future bride.

We can only give this hotel 5 stars for the most wonderful wedding experience. When they tell you not to worry and that they will take care of the detail...believe me, they really mean it. Here's a few reasons why it was so good:
1) the venue - it's a castle! What's not to love?!
2) the staff - they're so helpful and friendly, not at all stuffy so they make you feel right at home while also completely taking care of you.
3) the food - exceptional menu choices and delivered impeccably.
4) the 'restaurant experience' during the meal - don't you hate it when you're at a wedding and you're only getting main course while the people on the other side of the room are on desert?! Well, not at Lough Eske! There's something very special about everyone being served at the same time.
5) Flexibility - Stephen was great for not being a stickler for the rules (within reason). Little things like letting us mix and match some of the menu choices really made it for us. Also if you're worried about the room being too big or too small...don't! We booked it thinking our numbers would be bigger and then i worried a little about only having half the room or it feeling really empty. Thanks to Stephen it worked out perfectly - we had 2/3 of the room open for dinner and then in the other bit the band set up during dinner and after we opened it all up...so the the party was revealed! It meant we could have our top table by the rockery but were then able to have the bar open in the room during the dancing.
6) The rooms - I would move in tomorrow if I could!! They're just out of this world!
7) The spa and pool - lots of our friends stayed for the wknd and it was fantastic to have such great facilties on site.
8) The bar - great for a casual drink around the wedding itself and fab bar food too!
We just loved everything about our time at the hotel and really enjoyed the whole experience - thanks so much to Stephen and the rest of the staff for ensuring we had the time of our lives!

Having a small intimate wedding in a castle in Ireland was my ultimate goal. I searched for hours through countless websites looking for something to catch my eye. While all of the other castles I viewed were beautiful, Lough Eske had the perfect mix of old world traditional Irish castle flair mixed with the right touch of upscale modern luxury hotel. From the moment we met Stephen we felt completely comfortable and knew he had our best interests in mind, his suggestion for us to use the library for our ceremony was absolutely the perfect choice. He took my dress and the my husbands tux and had them pressed and cleaned as they undoubtedly had wrinkles from our flight. The staff at the hotel couldn't have been more accommodating either, they were always pleasant, eager to engage in conversation and incredibly friendly. Bernard, one of the servers during our cocktail hour and dinner reception, was exceptionally attentive and even answered our guests questions with a "wee" history lesson on burning peat in Ireland. It was a nice surprise to have received rose petals and truffles waiting in our room after our ceremony & reception. Stephen and all of the staff at Lough Eske helped make our wedding day truly a day we will never forget. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer. Thankfully we can and undoubtably will return one day.

From the beginning Stephen and all the staff at Lough Eske were wonderful, helping to put our minds at ease and open to every possible thought or idea we had. As we were organising things from relatively far away it was of great importance to us that we could work closely with someone to plan the day, and in ensuring this Stephen Bell was fantastic; always available, quick to help and offering guidance and support at every point.

On the day itself, we could not have wished for more. Despite a hiccup or two everything was carried off beyond all of our hopes and expectations, and a huge number of friends and family complemented us for several of the little touches which were in fact provided by hotel staff. The staff were polite, accomodating and guaranteed that everything went exactly as we hoped. It would be impossible for us to recommend Lough Eske more!

Our wedding day on December 12th 2014 was a truly wonderful day, with the highlight of the day been our reception at the Lough Eske Castle, outside Donegal Town. This was thanks to the attentive & professional staff, in particular Stephen, Anthony & Niamh who could not possibly have done any more for us on the day.

We met Stephen on Saturday 6th September 2014 and asked him if he had any free Friday's or Saturday's for that December. I don't think he believed us when we told him we were indeed planning our wedding for that time. From the moment we secured Friday 12th Dec, Stephen dilligently navigated us through all the necessary plans to host a wedding reception for 100 people. We didn't have the worry about a thing and completely trusted that Stephen had everything under control.

The wedding reception was better than we could ever have imagined. Stephen welcomed us with a glass of champagne and chaperoned us into the foyer, whereby we saw all of our guests mingling, enjoying the canapes, champagne & all the other delights on offer. The attention to detail from the staff was evident everywhere i.e. the table layouts, the lighting, the table service, the background music. We were served the most amazing meal, which was commented on by many of our guests. The whole evening was magical and our wedding day was followed by an equally memorable day, spending time with our family & friends, enjoying the wonderful ambience & hospitality of the Lough Eske hotel.

We would like to thank all of the staff at Lough Eske, who really helped to make our day one that we will remember forever. Stephen Bell is a consummate professional and a wonderful asset to the Lough Eske. We would highly recommend the Lough Eske hotel for any special occasion particualry a wedding; one would travel a long way before encountering a place as special as the Solis Lough Eske Castle.

I was married at Lough Eske Castle in August 2013. I am American and live in Boston and my now husband is from Ireland. Our families come from Donegal and after seeing Lough Eske in action for a cousins wedding, we knew this was going to be amazing.
Our wedding was flawless. The venue is stunning and the staff are the nicest, most accommodating and helpful group of people you will ever encounter. From the back of house team to the Stephen and Donal who overseeing planning and execution, they are amazing. We even had staff we met a few months prior, adjust their schedule so they could work our wedding.
I could never suggest a place more. Our guests still rave about the venue, food, decor and staff.
Anyone looking for a dream venue with staff who couldn't possibly leave you with a thing to worry about should be married at Lough Eske Castle.

What can I say about the food, ... fantastic. We were so happy with the meal and several of our guests commented on their fantastic day and great food they received. Having received some of our wedding photographs the surroundings of the castle were gorgeous despite the rainy day.
